The Rockets didn't make this a good rivalry because their system was not made to win. D'Anthoni had tried that same system in PHX with Nash in the mid-2000s. Chris Paul and James Harden once formed one of the most feared and respected duos in the NBA. As members of the Houston Rockets, the pair enjoyed immense success - at one point pushing the Golden State Warriors to the brink in the 2017-18 Western Conference Finals. Despite the good run they had together in Houston, Paul and Harden parted on bad terms. It was a huge shame that Harden and Paul couldn't win a championship with the Rockets.
For all the hate harden and the rockets style of play got, they were a cp3 knee injury away from defeating a warrior team that had a healthy curry, klay, draymond, and durant.

U might call this a hot take but I don’t consider this to be the NBA’s greatest rivalry, greatest recent rivalry? Yes. But best rivalry in general? No. In my opinion that goes to Magic vs Bird, the guys set up an era and helped build the leagues global foundations that MJ would then built a skyscraper onto. That’s just my opinion.
As a lifelong warriors fan, saying that the Spurs had no chance in that series is asinine. Kawhi was taken out by Zaza, if he’s healthy that would’ve been very competitive
It really took one team 4 allstars (2 superstars) and an injury of the second best player of the opposition team, who were left with 1 superstar (who was apparently a playoff choker according to most NBA fans) to win the series in 7 games. So either GSW can never be considered as greater/best team ever even if they had 5 all stars in their team, or just the Rockets gotta be considered as the strongest team to never win a ring. Yet 90% of NBA fans think that no team comes close to GSW in the history of the league and Rockets led by Harden were just a team full of playoff chokers. It really doesn't make sense at all.
Hey you changed the thumbnail! Not complaining it actually looks awesome.
For all the hate harden and the rockets style of play got, they were a cp3 knee injury away from defeating a warrior team that had a healthy curry, klay, draymond, and durant.
Using a song from ff10 soundtrack @5:00 is goated 🙏🏽
2018 Rockets are one of the biggest what-if's ever, what if Chris Paul didn't get injured in game 5 or if they did not miss 27 consecutive three-point shots in game 7, who knows how that season would have ended for Houston.
Cp ain’t injured in 2019 and lost to a KD-less Warriors
@@shinobu37that's not the point but aight.
If the refs actually called the game somewhat fairly the rockets would have won.
@@berlin4103 that is the point 😂 unless you have excuses
@@ChiTownOriginator and….2019 happened.
Not to throw shade to others but dylandoesbasketball for me is the better version of GOAT. The way your commentary drives the narrative of the video so flawlessly is very satisfying to listen to.
GOAT is a “future hypothetical scenario” merchant
Bro finally as a Rockets fan someone called out the officiating.
If Scott Foster counted those And1 3s the 27 bricks wouldn't have happened.
Y'all woulda lost anyway. Cope
@@jorgelujlrcn we were up 11 at half bro, and if the missed calls were called we would be up by 20 bro. Ur js mad cuz ur dynasty is over bro, ur a bandwagon.
@@kb0x All these excuses for blowing a double digit lead in a game 7 is pathetic. And let's not act like the Rockets, especially FT merchant James Harden never received special treatment from the refs. And at least I can say my team had a dynasty meanwhile you bozos are still crying 6 years later about this series.
@@jorgelujlrcn "all these excuses for blowing a double digit lead is pathetic" like your bandwagon fans don't make excuses about a 73 win team blowing a 3-1 lead in the finals.
All of your fans are bandwagons bro and they are all gone. Y'all finna be poverty like you were before Steph bro. I do not wanna hear it.
@@kb0x Why you talking about the Finals when y'all haven't been there since the Clinton administration? And all you Rockets fans are a bunch of whiny envious losers that can't cope with losing. Enjoy the projects lil bro.

Reminder that CP3's injury didn't change the series. Iggy's injury did. Watch the games
Another amazing video. Amazing content!
8:18 just like Barcelona who are so obsessed with Real Madrid lol
Super engaging video bro :)
23:13 as a die hard rockets fan and a houston native, the early lead and the terrible officiating is the only thing i remember from this game😭😭
THE GOAT POSTED
**Reads the title**
Nope…not even close
I remember how disappointed I was as a spurs fan watching the rockets choke that away… nothing will be more painful than Zaza destroying our season in 2017 tho, waited 3 years for that playoff matchup just for it to get ruined in the first game
That’s just my opinion.
chills, literal chills
Nice vid mate
Life when dylandoesbasketball posts>>>>>
New drop let’s go 🔥🔥
Best story telling on RUclips
Why did u have to make me remember those days 😓. Great vid tho
Dylandoesbasketball goes off again
I love how Draymond be acting like they weren't 1 hamstring away from losing that year
Dylan finally posted
Opening yt to find the perfect video to watch while eating and come across a dylandoesbasketball video>>
As a lifelong warriors fan, saying that the Spurs had no chance in that series is asinine. Kawhi was taken out by Zaza, if he’s healthy that would’ve been very competitive
Happy that u made a video on the 2018 rockets but the title is questionable
4:23 don’t have anything to do with the video.. but the switch to macalania woods instrumental was 🔥 🔥 🔥 😂😂😂
2018 was the year that I truly realized that the NBA or officiating can decide whether or not you win a series.
Still heartbreaking as a Rockets fan 💔🚀
