      Even today, despite not being the same, when they play you can feel the hatred. They beat each other up like nobody else. Pittsburgh has won 7 of 8, but they’ve all been slow defensive slugfests as opposed to the high flying offense that was on the rise throughout the league up until a season or two ago. Idk if it’s similar for Steelers fans, but I think being a Ravens fan has made me appreciate defense more. If I’m looking for a close game, I’d rather watch a 17-14 game that’s close the whole way through than one where either team scores over 35.

      Technically its a continuation of the original steelers browns rivalry which has been around for a long time. Then the browns came back into existance but its never been the same

      @@themilkynipple2801 Yeah if you consider the history of the old Browns to belong to the Ravens, as it really does, despite what the Browns and most of their fans claim, this rivalry is #1 imo. The only reason it isn’t if you’re just counting the Ravens is that it hasn’t been long enough.

    If you're going to put the Chiefs/Bills from 2020-2023 as an honorary mention, you should've put the Patriots and Ravens as one as well from 2007-2014.
    Those clashes, there was NO LOVE at all. Brady, Moss, Welker, Gronk, Edelman vs Suggs, Reed, Lewis, Pollard, etc. Sheesh

    As a Ravens fan, our rivalry with the Steelers is everything. No team I love beating or hate losing to is them. I hate them but I respect them

      Agreed. They always bring up the longevity of the Bears/Packers but almost that entire history when they meet one of the teams isn't good. Vikings and Packers for the longest time now almost always has been an important game.

    I think Steelers-Ravens and 49ers-Seahawks are my favorite rivalries in the NFL because they seem to be the hardest hitting teams with genuine hatred for each other.

      The road team has won all five playoff meetings. The standout games are 2003 wildcard at Baltimore, McNair’s 2006 win at Tennessee, and 2020’s overtime game

      Underrated rivalry for sure, when it was good. Unfortunately, not looking too hopeful for a playoff meeting this decade because the Steelers are enamored with Mike Tomlin's mediocrity and the Broncos have done little right since Super Bowl 50.

    Great idea spotlighting rivalries close to the start of the 2024 season. 49ers/Cowboys from 1992 to 1994, and Ravens/Steelers from 2008 to 2012 are my two favorites.

    The NFC West was always Aaron Rodgers kyptonite in the playoffs, 0-5 vs the 49ers, 0-2 vs the cardinals, 0-1 vs the seahawks

    I like all these rivalries but I dont think you can say the 80s-90s Giants and 49ers rivalry can all of sudden include a game from 2011 after not meeting the playoffs for almost 20 years

    That's what I love about the NFL compared to the NBA, the competitive fire between fans and teams. As a Cowboys fan I hate the Eagles, 49ers, and Packers with a burning passion, and I know damn well the hate is mutual 😂

      Big change from the Johnson-Switzer era when the Cowboys won I think seven straight. In 1996 the Carolina Panthers did the Packers a huge favor by taking out the Cowboys in the divisional round

      The problem is that it was too short. Once Harbaugh left after 2014 the 49ers sucked until 2019.
      But yeah I remember in 2013 NFC Championship the local SF radio stations weren’t playing any Nirvana or Pearl Jam for a week leading up to the game out of spite for Seattle. When it gets that petty it’s good

    I feel like you guys could do an entire separate video on the curse of the terrible towel; titans stomped it and lost out including first round of playoffs as 1 seed, bengals tj housh wiping his cleats and then carson palmer tearing his acl and lost first round of playoffs, jaguars last year (2023) mocked the towel and proceeded to go 3-6 and lose first round of playoffs but i know theres more.       We got Mahomes now, but outside of him it's pretty much just Allen on a consistent basis and that's it. Burrow always gets hurt, Lamar always gets hurt and also chokes, Hurts regressed, Dak chokes, Herbert is overrated, so is Lawrence, and Cousins is a stat padder. There's some hope with Purdy, Love, and Stroud though, I will admit.

    New England vs. Pittsburgh is maybe the funniest rivalry because when it became prominent it became monopolized. When Drew Bledsoe and Curtis Martin pummeled the Steelers in the foggy 1996 divisional round it began nearly three decades of Patriots dominance winning sixteen of twenty two with four different quarterbacks - two of them in the 2001 AFC Championship Game

      My household when I was a child was wild. My mom was a Bears fan, my Step-Dad was a Packers fan, and I ws a Vikes fan. Lol.

      @@NeverSober8008 plenty of times in the playoffs, most recently in 2023 with the Eagles beating the Giants, and not to mention the multiple Divison-winning games between the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles. I mean the Giants and Eagles absolutely HATE each other, same with Dallas and Philly (although that’s more one-sided). It’s why the Saquon Barkley move to Philly got way more public and private ridicule than say Patrick Queen to Pittsburgh. The Steelers and Ravens may have had more intense games as teams, but there just isn’t that sense of vitriol you see with some of the NFC East rivalries.
