They went 3-3 against each other. The Chiefs won in New England in 2019 and in Tampa Bay twice in 2020 and 2022. I can understand giving the tiebreaker to Brady because of the playoffs (even though he won an OT coin toss in the AFC title game after Dee Ford was offsides with a Chiefs lead and Brady clinging to life, and even with a blowout win was the first quarterback fortunate enough to have a Super Bowl game at home as the Chiefs had a weakened offensive line), but this isn’t as one-sided as it may seem. Sometimes the breaks don’t go someone’s way, but it isn’t like Brady or Mahomes went 5-1 against the other.

Hi NFL Throwback! Thank you for all the great work you have done over the years - it is truly appreciated by many fans, including me!
Here is a list of other EPIC forgotten games over the past few decades, specifically the mid- to late-1990s, for your consideration. My apologies in advance if any of the listed games have already been created. The games listed below are not in any particular order:
    1. 1997, Week 4: Steelers at Jaguars - The Jags secured an early season victory over their AFC Central rival with a blocked FG attempt returned for a TD during this MNF thriller.
    2. 1997, Week 9: Jaguars at Steelers - The Steelers get revenge over the Jags for their earlier WK4 loss during this mid-season hard-fought OT classic.
    3. 1997, Week 12: Broncos at Chiefs - The Grbac-Gannon QB controversy begins, as Rich Gannon starts at QB and Pete Stoyanovich makes a herculean game-winning FG to beat Elway and the Broncos.
    4. 1995, Week 17: Broncos at Raiders - Elway is the grinch that stole the Raiders’ Christmas and dashed their playoff hopes in this Week 17 classic.
    5. 1999, Week 17: Raiders at Chiefs - Gruden and Gannon take advantage and spoil the Chiefs' playoff hopes, as Pete Stoyanovich deflates the home crowd after missing a game-clinching FG.
    6. 1996, Week 17: Patriots at Giants - Drew Bledsoe powers this comeback victory over the Giants on their way to winning the AFC East.
    7. 1997, Week 4: Colts at Bills - The Bills mount a massive comeback and stun the Colts in this early season classic. From Wikipedia: "One of the most memorable games in Buffalo Bills history occurred in Week Four against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts roared to a 26-0 lead in the second quarter, before the Bills went on a 37-3 run, ultimately taking the lead 37-29 with 1:15 remaining in the game. The Colts closed to within two, but missed a two-point conversion, giving Buffalo a two-point victory. The game remains the third-greatest regular season comeback in NFL history, and the second greatest in team history."
    8. 1996, Week 10: Broncos at Raiders - In vintage fashion, John Elway and Rod Smith connect for a late-game TD and top the Raiders in this iconic MNF classic.
    9. 1997, Week 3: Eagles at Cowboys - In this early season hard-hitting MNF game, the aging Cowboys sneak past Brian Dawkins and the upstart Eagles by one point following a mishandled last-second field goal attempt.
    10. 1996, Week 3: Colts at Cowboys - Captain Comeback does it again, as Jim Harbaugh leads the Colts from a 21-3 deficit to top the Cowboys. For the Cowboys, this game was decided by the width of the cross bar.
    11. 2001, Week 5: Chargers at Patriots - As an indication of things to come, Bill Belichick’s defense, Tom Brady’s dramatics, and Adam Vinatieri’s clutch field goal kicking proved instrumental as the Patriots came back late in the fourth quarter to eventually beat Doug Flutie and the Chargers in overtime.
    12. 1997, Week 2: Chiefs at Raiders - In what would be Marcus Allen’s last regular season appearance in Oakland (while playing for KC), Elvis Grbac and Andre Rison connect for a late fourth quarter touchdown to edge out the Raiders by one in this early season MNF thriller.
    13. 1997, Week 14: Bengals at Eagles - It’s Boomer vs. Bobby (Hoying) in this high-scoring dual between a Hall of Fame QB and a never-was QB. However, Hoying (the never-was QB) got the best of the Hall of Famer in this unexpected action-packed classic, as the Eagles edged past the Bengals by two with both teams combining for 86 points!
    14. 2000, Week 2: Rams at Seahawks - The Greatest Show on Turf had all they could handle when the Seahawks came ready to do battle in the rainy Seattle climate! However, Kurt Warner game-winning drive staved off an early season upset, as the Rams topped the Seahawks by an FG in this wild classic.

Cordarell Patterson was used incorrectly for over half of his career. You’ll always be a Patriot to me homie. Nothing but big plays in big spots when u needed it most. Always came through. Even after a mistake. He would make up for it. Love that dude

NFL Throwback should do a series called forgotten classics, like do with NFL players you forgot were elite.
    Examples:
    1. 49ers at Falcons 2001 (T.O.’s game-winning overtime walkoff)
    2. Panthers at Packers 1999 (Beuerlein’s quarterback sneak at the buzzer).
    3. Lions at Rams 2006 (Mike Furrey and Mike Martz’s return to St.Louis)
    4. Patriots at Jets 1999 (Tupa off the bench in lieu of an injured Testaverde).

As a young Bills fan: that 2007 MNF game set the tone for what it was going to be like rooting for this team...now I'm conditioned to late game heartbreak. I was anticipating KC tying the game with 13 seconds left because of this game💔😅

Couple of others that were really good and should have made HM at least. 1986 Thanksgiving Lions-Packers won by Walter Stanley on the punt return (Lions led 10-0, then Packers led 23-13, then Lions led 40-30, then Packers won). 1989 Bills-Oilers 47-41 OT (crazy game best remembered for Ernest Givins flip into the end zone on a TD pass).

Those 80s Cleveland Brown teams were such good teams. They just couldn’t quite get past prime John Elway and the Broncos.
Also, Thurman Thomas is on the very shortlist of all-time underrated running backs. Tremendous runner and receiver out of the backfield. IMO the 3rd greatest running back of the 90s behind Barry and Emmett.

.2019 wildcard playoff between Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills and Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans (Back before Watson’s life imploded). I think a lot of people forget how intensely good this game was
.Falcons vs Steelers that ended in a 34-34 tie (2002)
    .Chargers vs Bengals (2006)
.Rams vs Saints wildcard playoff 2000 (Saints upsetting defending SB champs)
Broncos at Chiefs divisional playoff 1997 (Denver inching by division rival Chiefs on there way to their first Super Bowl title for John Elway)

September 13, 1992; Buffalo at San Francisco. Kelly had 409 yds passing, Young had 449; total yards both teams had over 1,000 yards, with the Niners close to 600. Oh yeah, it was the first game in NFL history where neither team punted.

They left out in #4 that the Patriots faked a bunch of injuries during that final drive to stop the clock and allow them to rest, which led to the rule change that if you have an injured player it costs you a timeout

Raiders v. Broncos from '04 should have been here! Snow game. Raiders take a late lead on a jumping, spinning, one-handed catch by unknown receiver Ronald Curry, hauling in a bad throw from Kerry Collins. Game ends on a blocked Broncos field goal, and the Raiders escape with a victory.
