I'm currently looking at the 2024 Jets and they look like they would've made this list if they had waited a few months. Like, PFF said that the Jets had the second-best roster in the league. ESPN said that the Jets would win the Super Bowl this year. Jason McIntyre of FS1 said that they were one of his top 5 picks to win the Super Bowl. Everyone said they would win the AFC East. Now look at them. 3-7, five games back from the division lead, their head coach fired, their defense giving up 26 points per game on average and the only reason they aren't out of the wild card picture already is because their conference is terrible and because every other team in front of them that's trying to fight for the 7th seed lost this week. And they still have to face a surging Rams team, Buffalo again and Tyreek Hill, twice.
As a Houstonian I remember that 2013 season… we had to comeback just to beat the chargers on MNF 😭😭😭 It got so bad schaub started getting death threats, not a fun time honestly

Nearly every cowboys team since 2006, every dolphins team since 2008, and every bears team since 2009. These 3 teams are easily the most overhyped teams of the last 15-20 years. Every year these teams are hyped up to be good teams who have supposedly improved in the offseason and are ready to take the next step, but they never do. It’s been a long time since any of these teams have done anything in the playoffs. Bears haven’t won a playoff game since 2010, the dolphins haven’t won a playoff game since 2001, and the Cowboys only have 4 wild card wins in the last 27 years.
11:04 Jack del Rio was the first head coach since Jon gruden at first coach the Oakland raiders in the early 2000s to actually have a winning record when he left the team.
2008 Cowboys were such a disappointment. Everything was lined up for them to be the favorites but teams had caught up with Jason Garrett’s vanilla scheme & the defense wasn’t stopping much.
As a 49ers fan: 1987 - the team was ready to make a run, and would eventually win in 88 and 89, but not before blowong a 15-1 record by shitting the bed vs the Vikings at home in the divisional round. The 1990 3-peat squad came up short. 1998 squad that saw Garrison Hearst have a multiple season ending injury vs. the Falcons, who would go on to play in the Super Bowl. In 2012 and 2013, they were expeto be be able to finish what 2011 started - they didn't. 2020 is on this list, but so should 2021, 2022, and 2023. 2024 isn't looking so hot. Honorable mention: The 2010 squad was not expected to win a ring, but they were expected to make the playoffs - and rightfully so, as the 2011-2013 squads would make 3x NFC Championship games and a super bowl, but the 2010 squad obviously needed a better head coach, and they got one. Very few roster changes were made - mostly just the coaching staff.
You thought matt eberfluss and a rookie qb was gon do good on the same team that just ruined Justin Fields? Why didnt y'all trade back and pick up a few players + mike vrabel..
Great vid i forgot about some of these teams! Have you ever done a vid like this with hyped teams that got busted in the first round of the playoffs like the 15-1 vikings or the 2008 titans?
2014 Saints. 2013 we had the most solid defense of the Brees era up to that point, and with the drafting of Brandin Cooks and signing of Jairus Byrd, there was much hype that it'd be the best Saints team ever. First of 3 straight 7-9 seasons.
The 1999 49ers seemed like another great san fran team. They had 16 straight winning seasons going into the 99 season. After a 3-1 start, the niners lost 11 of their final 12 to finish 4-12, their worst record since 1979. The defense was the worst against the pass in 1999, allowing more yards and more tds than any other unit that year. Despite having the #1 rushing attack and one of the league's easiest schedules, san Francisco couldn't shake off steve Young's injury, and that horrible defense
The 2000 jaguars looked like a team of destiny. They were coming off a 14-2 season, and an afc championship berth. In Y2K, they won half of the amount wins they had in 99, going 7-9.Jacksonville's #1 ranked defense from 1999 went down to the 16th ranked unit in 2000. The jags got off to an awful 2-6 start, and they couldn't recover. In 2001 and 2002, the team went 12-20. Tom coughlin got fired after 02, and jack del rio was hired to replace him
Just remember, Andy Reid had some of the most talent loaded teams in recent history, it wasn’t until he got the best Defensive coach in the league (Steve Spagnolia), beat QB in history (Mahomes), the 2nd best TE in history (Kelce), the best WR in the league (Hill), and top 3 DT in the league that is now the best (Chris Jones) when he finally won a Super Bowl. I’m not saying he is a bad coach. All legendary coaches have talent (Walsh, Belichick, etc) around them.
my bears in 2019 are one too. coming off of the 12-4 record we were on such a high, then that high got killed when we went 8-8 and missed the playoffs.
The greatest part about sports is that just assembling talent together doesn’t always work. It always takes a process unless you’re the Golden State warriors in 2017

After the 49ers traded for Jimmy G, they went from 1-9 to 6-10. They also signed Richard Sherman in the off season and expected to make the playoffs. But in week 3 of season Jimmy G tore his ACL, after that the team only won 3 games.
they were hurt but the year after they showed up til the 4th in the SB
Add this year’s Vikings Lol
2022 Rams should’ve also been on there. The worst reigning Super Bowl champs of all time. And yeah it was only cause of injuries but the 2020 9ers were on here so the Rams should be too. They were hyped up insanely, some people talking abt going back to back, and then they finish 5-12. So I’d say they should def be on the list
Every Dallas Cowboys team since the mid 2000s.
“Freddy Kitchens offense never got in SINK”
The 2017 Rodgers injury. A play that the _Star-Tribune_ declared one of its top Minnesota sports highlights of the decade. 🙄
Let's add the 2024 Lions
11:04 Jack del Rio was the first head coach since Jon gruden at first coach the Oakland raiders in the early 2000s to actually have a winning record when he left the team.
2008 Cowboys were such a disappointment. Everything was lined up for them to be the favorites but teams had caught up with Jason Garrett’s vanilla scheme & the defense wasn’t stopping much.
As a 49ers fan:
1987 - the team was ready to make a run, and would eventually win in 88 and 89, but not before blowong a 15-1 record by shitting the bed vs the Vikings at home in the divisional round.
Good examples of why you should team build and not talent collect
2019 Browns: the Season when Myles Garrett became the biggest baby in NFL History
7:53 leave it to Joe Buck to drain the life out of a great play😂😂
He's so much better now
Freddie kitchen never got the team in "sink" lol
You can make soo many of these videos. Soo many would be Eagles and cowboys videos
Nah, the Eagles are rarely hyped.
every one had the bears doing good this yea lol including myself. im a bears fan and i was not expecting only 4 wins lol
You thought matt eberfluss and a rookie qb was gon do good on the same team that just ruined Justin Fields? Why didnt y'all trade back and pick up a few players + mike vrabel..
The Cowboys every year should be on here because the media gargles them
19:44 “he has followers and not just on twitter” 😂😂😂
Need to put in time stamps. Thanks again for a great vid!
What about all those Steelers squad with Ben Brown and Bell that never did anything. I know they are flops to me
2018 was a major flop
Oh T.O, those headaches u gave Philly r flooding back now
Your RUclips Channel Is Incredible NFL Throwback
Great vid i forgot about some of these teams! Have you ever done a vid like this with hyped teams that got busted in the first round of the playoffs like the 15-1 vikings or the 2008 titans?
2014 Saints. 2013 we had the most solid defense of the Brees era up to that point, and with the drafting of Brandin Cooks and signing of Jairus Byrd, there was much hype that it'd be the best Saints team ever. First of 3 straight 7-9 seasons.
On the bright side, that Leron McClain TD run basically sealed me winning my fantasy league that year
As a kid that 05 eagles season had my dad and his friends in a tailspin. That driveway workout is iconic
Aaron tearing his achilles still haunts me
As an Eagles fan, when he got injured in 2017, I knew our window was open. I really had the Packers for the Super Bowl that year
A lot of these teams had to deal with switches at QB or just untrustworthy QB situations, certainly hurts when your star QB gets injured
18 players on ir is insane
Yeah that's brutal
9:17 PLAYOFFS 😂
The 2024 bengals are about to get added to this list
and the 2024 jets
The 2000 jaguars looked like a team of destiny. They were coming off a 14-2 season, and an afc championship berth. In Y2K, they won half of the amount wins they had in 99, going 7-9.Jacksonville's #1 ranked defense from 1999 went down to the 16th ranked unit in 2000. The jags got off to an awful 2-6 start, and they couldn't recover. In 2001 and 2002, the team went 12-20. Tom coughlin got fired after 02, and jack del rio was hired to replace him
That redskins team in 2000 was the 1990s all decade team
It always takes a process unless you’re the Golden State warriors in 2017
Being a Raiders fan the 2017 team was heart wrenching, Del Rio lost the team. Alot of "society NFL issues" hurt them also. Carr was never the same after that broken leg, too bad.
2012 Texans come to mind to me too. But vid definitely right about 2013 Texans. Ppl were hyped in Houston
Rodgers to Jets has been the best thing to have ever happened to the nfl
The redskins had 3 hof cornerbacks on the same team?
Darrell Green
Deion Sanders
Champ Bailey.
@@bigrich6075 wow
Ya still insane that team and lavar arrington lmao
@@eric3298 Bruce Smith and Marco Coleman on the DL
Yeah, the 2024 Jets are on this list, they just don’t know it
It's simple just like Chris Berman still say's ...That's why they play the game!!!
1999 Arizona Cardinals coming off of their playoff season they were expected to do bigger and better things but finished 6-10
I feel as though this is a message to some teams currently...
You can put the falcons on this list after this season. And guess what? Kirk cousins was apart of 2 teams on this list. Dude can’t play with the media lights on the team.
We'll see, tough schedule to start the season and they sit rn at 2-2. Still a young season but we'll see.
@@harrislaurent429I was right
@@Johnhargrove18 unfortunately, yes
This year's Eagles are showing shades of the 2011 "Dream Team."
For real 😂
that 2011 eagles team is such a head scratcher to this day lol
Stabbed in the heart from the start.
