Him winning that game really cemented his legacy and that season as a whole. One of the most complete seasons ever: Team had the best record, highest completion percentage ever at the time, led the league in TD's and passer rating, won MVP, and won the Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP with the best single game performance of anyone to ever do it. Just what you could call almost as close to a "perfect" season individually.

Haven’t watched yet, but John Riggins and Timmy Smith better be on here. Riggins broke the record for most rush yards EVER in a playoff run.
He had 610 rush yards in 4 games. That 610 is STILL the record, and has stood for 41 years. He averaged 152.5 Rush yards PER GAME, had 4 TDs, carried the ball 136 TIMES in just the playoffs. Had 166 rush yards in the SB, WON SB MVP, and had arguably the most historic run in SB history.
Where he TRUCKED Don McLean on 4th and inches for a 43 yard TD to give the Skins their 1st lead in the SB in the 4th quarter.
Timmy Smith set the STILL Super Bowl record with 204 rush yards in the 1988 SB. To put this in the proper context, that record has now stood for 35 YEARS, he is still the ONLY 200 yard rusher in a SB. Since he set the record, nobody has even came within 46 YARDS of his 204. TD had 157 in 1998, nobody else has came within 68 yards since.
What makes it more impressive? Timmy Smith was a no-name one hit wonder that would be out of the league completely a year later.

Willie Anderson had 15 catches for 336 yards. Norm Van Brocklin threw the ball for 554 yards in a single game, which the record still stands today. Walter Payton ran the ball for 275 yards against the Vikings in a single game, so the record has since been broken. Adrian Peterson ran the ball for 296 yards against the Chargers, so he has broken the record since.🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈

Josh Allen vs the Patriots in the Wild Card is top 10 for me. The guy had more TD's than incompletions. 21/25 with 374 total yards, 5 touchdowns, no turnovers, in the playoffs, and the offense scored a touchdown literally every single possession. It was the perfect offensive game.

It only stood for 2 more seasons. Jamal Lewis ran for 295 against the Browns in 2003. Then AP broke that with 296 in 2007. So the fact that I happened 3x in 7 years means its not nearly as rare as you think.

The funny thing about the Adrian Peterson performance is on the ESPN pre-game show, one of their topics was who'd have the better game Ladanian Tomlinson or Peterson? They asked Emmitt Smith and he said definitely Tomlinson. Tomlinson finished the game with 40 yards and Peterson had the 296. Great player, but as an analyst, Emmitt was one of the worst I've ever seen. Couldn't speak without fumbling over his words either, no pun intended.
