Re: that Florida Power & Light ad.. that was it..? lol thought maybe it would end with the kite turning back to normal and saying"ALWAYS check for power lines!" or something
Recognized some of these spots from WREYTube's channel; and I commented there how weird it was seeing a nearly 10 year old Wendy's commercial in that set.
+Mike Troncin Well, the last one is definitely *Reelin' in the Years* by *Steely Dan*. The one before it I had to look for and it sounds like *This One's for You* by *Barry Manilow*. I'm not sure about the first two.
Ok... I was wondering if they bothered to knock up four fake song snippets . Also, I think they should have illuminated the dial on the radio. That was the coolest feature of those 70's & 80's "hi-fi"s
Mike Troncin Yeah, I think that might be the first time I've seen a commercial like that or at least recall. My 30 year high reunion coming up next year, so the commercial reminded me to find some music in the meantime. Ha ha, yes, the dial should have been illuminated! A graphic equalizer would have been nice to see too!
+Mike Troncin The second song is "Last Dance" by Donna Summer. The first one with the guitar riff is very hard to tell. Could be one of a hundred hair metal songs.
As soon as I saw that stuffed walrus I knew you would mention it in the description.
WTF @the commercial at 3:00 lol!! Took a weird and terrifying turn
+megamanfan1500 Tell me about it. Fail.
Really? You must not be familiar with joe Isuzu
+Mike Troncin I'm pretty sure he's talking about the Florida Power and Light PSA
+80sCommercialVault yeah, I guess so. I like the 'care bear villain ' comparison. Kind of inconclusive as well
Well, anticlimactic anyway

I could be mistaken, but is the guy in the Isuzu ad the same guy who played the next door neighbor on the sitcom "Empty Nest?"
+slakinsam You're right, it's David Leisure.
I like the Westies in the Doublemint Gum commercial. So cute!
I also agree with you about that kite. Nightmare Fuel, anyone?

That Nissan Ad is incredible!
01:48 - 01:53 - can anyone identify even one of the songs that he's mocking?

80sEric Pretty good sleuthing. I didn't spend enough time looking for it. I knew it was disco but wasn't sure what it was.
The men in the Doublemint commercial were clearly gay. :)
Nope. The tall blond one went on to play Dr. Hardy who had an interracial marriage on General Hospital.

I actually I owned that 87 Nissan Stanza, old memories....
CHECK FOR POWER LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN--------
*fin*
And to think, all us 80's kids are now listening to classic rock.
That walrus looks like total stoner!
