@@christianparsons6050 🤔 You know, I would definitely mic 🎤 under the cymbals byways of 4 🎤 mics and possibly add a tadpole of reverb & thicker EQ-but… not too much. I did listen 👂 in cans and via Atmos System & the sound was awesome 👏 as-is. But, every engineer is different. What has kept me touring and then demand for over 20 years as “make it sound like the record, and not what you’re thinking.“ all too often is easy to add what you want as an engineer but, you should only augment what the client wants and what is good for the performance. This was a great comment that you posted. We should definitely chop up engineering commentary someday again superstar!

I do the exact same thing but with the left hand lead this way you can orchestrate it around the kit in time triplet that actually goes in the descending pattern and then when you do your crossoverYou can either change to a right hand lead or you can keep it the same but either way this is the way Bonham did it with the left hand lead in unison with the left foot so the right hand is just playing the ‘pull’ in the trips pattern, the base will alway land ont the ‘let’ and the left hand is just in time with the hats at the top of the ‘trip’.

I do something similar I just change from RLK to LRK and then sometimes a 2 drum parididdle with the cymbal strike with kick on the single l and r.
These are cool tricks. I never break them down though and think about it like this. Thank you for engaging my brain a bit more in my drumming
