Finally a demonstrator who actually breaks the drum fill down to a slow enough speed with clear auditory explanation that anyone can follow and learn from. Thank you!!
What a wonderful combination, a great drummer and a great teacher. I'm an old guy who is trying to get his chops back and your videos are very helpful, entertaining and inspiring.
It’s a rare talent… usually the people at the highest level have trouble making it easy to understand for regular folks. Every now and then you’ll find someone incredibly gifted but has such a deep understanding and social skills they can explain it to the layman. Like Micheal Angelo batio for guitaror suprisingly Kobe for basketball.
I dig these lessons; especially the 30 second ones. I've been starting off my practice with a few rudiments and then right into a 30 second lesson. If you're getting into a little bit of a rut; try some; they're really fun.
I absolutely love and respect the way this guy plays and teaches. Just an excellent player and he probably has the best sounding snare on all of RUclips. I wish I knew what it was, please share! Keep up the great work.
I have to agree with Jim 4040. I’m an older guy trying to get his chops back and I’m really enjoying these lessons as they are straight to the point and extremely helpful to get my groove back
I Like the way you teach Drums im a beginner..Im older Adult..Played Guitar most of myLife on and off..I play ok.Have short fingers..Took up Drums i wanted to give it a shot.I do ok. Takes time..Thanks for the videos 😁👍
i love your vids cause I can just zone out and listen. Its like Im right on top of eveything even though i drifted away. ADHD man. Youre gonna have me dope af on the kit soon
Thanks CJ! I feel like you threw me a bag of gold coin. Such a clear and interesting drum lesson. Had to restrain myself from running to the kit to watch it through the first time. I like them all especially adding the drag that’s cool. 👊🏻
I love to hear that!! I’m so happy you got a fun lesson out of it 😃 Adding drags is a nice touch, ‘cause it’s such a small thing to add but can make a HUGE difference 🔥
As a new drummer I appreciate your video and this gives me some ideas for drum fill that can help me to improve for adding some drum fills for my practices. Thx 😊.
@@ThatSwedishDrummer whilst i obviously could not match it even nearly 1:1, i've modeled my ezdrummer setup as closely as i could to your kit hah. It really does sound great
Thanks for this dude I'm actually a church drummer and I'm surely gonna add these fills in when I drum... keep doing what your dude because your helping out a lot of beginners
thanks for these, I especially need something along the lines of that flam kick flam kick... as I relearn the drums after 30 years I am trying to sync up my hands and feet, or unsync depending on how you look at it. I am constantly struggling with the reflex to swing my stick the same time as the kick even when it's not supposed to. Having this to work hands-feet-hands-feet-hands-feet and have it sounding good as well will really be helpful. Because as we all know, if it's not fun or enjoyable it is not likely to be something I will stick with or get better at. I loved the drums and wanted to get back into it for decades but couldnt afford an e-kit and didn't want to disturb my neighbors with an acoustic. Only problem is, e-kits don't do ghost notes very well, every hit sounds the same volume, but it is a start. Like having a $600 practice pad that plugs into my headphones.
Yeah it can be difficult sometimes! Sadly, better e-kits cost a pretty penny, but I hope you’ll have fun with it and get some practicing done! All the best!👊🔥
What a great video!💫 I'm a beginner drumer but too close to advanced. I loved the way you explained and mixed the fills, even I noticed that maybe I tried something before watch the video, but I didn't know how to make it sound good and you make me understood it! Thaaaaanks! 🤍 Greetings from Mexico 🎉
Hi I enjoy your videos. I'm a new beginner . I always wanted to play the drums. Any way as i mentioned enjoy your videos. Can you please give some lessons on groves or drum beats. Love the fill but I need to work on some beats or groves so I can get to playing some fills. Cool man . Thank you.
I love the sound of your kit. I have similar setup, 8, 10, 12, & 16". What is your tuning process on your toms? No matter what I do I get excessive snare buzz from my 10" tom. Thank you in advance!!! 🤙🏻
A great video but my brother is only just started learning it might be to advanced for him I might just about manage it but him no chance!! do you have any more basic drum beats videos???
Я только начал свой путь, спасибо за видео. Очень познавательно. А ещё ты позитивный и твой цвет волос напоминает мне прекрасный город Санкт-Петербург)
I couldn't stop playing this for hours and I'm only in Fill #1. Great stuff! Worth mentioning that when you added the drags you flipped the notes if I'm correct. Thanks
Not sure what you mean by flipped the notes, but the drag (diddles) acts like a grace note before the first RIGHT-hit, so it's still RLRL RLR-, but with a drag before each accented hit ^_^
hopefully this comment isn't too old for an answer, but if I play left handed are the "right, left, right left" reversed for me? for example on fill 1, would the accents only be played with the left hand? thanks!
Exactly! And of course it depends on how you play, if you play a leftie-set up or if you play open-handed. But simply but - all the breakdowns I do, lefty-drummers can just reverse :)

So glad you like it, Earl! Thanks for watching :D 🔥
Yes I think he is the only drummer who explain everything very clearly❤
nah everyone does that unless its a yt short but his fills in itself are creative and great while being easy

Every now and then you’ll find someone incredibly gifted but has such a deep understanding and social skills they can explain it to the layman. Like Micheal Angelo batio for guitaror suprisingly Kobe for basketball.
Also yes love the slowness to allow learners to hear and see what is going on while still keeping the rhythm
Powerful fills and powerful pants!
✌️😎🔥
I really love the way you break it down!! provide variations and reinforce it. Thank you! I'm pretty sure I'll keep watching your videos.
Finally, a fill lesson i can actually grasp, hang on to and enjoy. Thank you. I like the way you break it down more than one quick time.

The snare in this video is a Benny Greb signature snare, by Sonor! (Mk1 beechwood)

More videos are coming and I’m planning on some more beginner-friendly grooves ✌️🔥
When I hear “Pat Boone Debbie Boone” I think of it being played 100 times on November Rain. Still a very useful fill.
Indeed it is! :D
Nice trousers!

Hi, thanks a lot for these super interesting tips. Are you using a double bass pedal here?
Thanks!! Nope, no double pedal in this video.
All these fills are meant to be played with one pedal so it’s very beginner friendly 🤗
lol schW3De111 hits like no. 111 :-D
nice one man! I dig the last fill, gotta try that
It's great!!!
