Q! regarding the front being smoother than the rear is because the truck has (IFS) independent front suspension versus a straight axel like the rear. I do not believe it is a FOX rear shock thing versus the RC Vertex in the front.
Anyhow a 5/16" punch will work for that height adjustment. In fact It works better than the spanner wrench that RC sells. When I had the Vertex that wrench was useless to me. I actually still have it laying around someplace. Also keep in mind you cannot rebuild the RC Vertex while the FOX you can. Once the RC's hit about 40-50K miles you will need to replace them.. I was happy with the Vertex ride but not the noise they made for me. I am VERY pleased with my FOX. You are correct though the price point on the vertex is attractive.
Yes I did forget to mention the rebuilding factor. Good point. Yes I seen another guy using a punch to adjust his as well lol. But wanted to share in case people were wondering how you adjust them. Ahhhhh ok ok that makes a lot of sense. Hey this only my second truck I’m learning so I appreciate your positive comments man and sharing the knowledge! 💯🤝
@@KickinItWithQ no worries Q! It’s all good … no judging ..like I mentioned in a previous response it all up to personal preference and your truck rocks as it is part of you. It is a great looking rig . Spend what you like and Can afford. I have learned a lot and also from watching the videos , I like what you have done.
@@cowboy-wr5jt I appreciate that bro 🤝
@@KickinItWithQ absolutely!
Try
I got my rough county suspension (vertex) 6” on 22”x12 on 35s 2019 F150 and I love it. Smooth ride . I’m very happy!!!!
Yea man I was surprised how much of a difference they made
Not gone lie. I bought a truck with a Rough Country lift kit similar to yours already on it. Didnt even know I could adjust it like that. Probably would have never known if I didnt watch your vid. Thanks a lot.
Glad the video helped bro! Preciate you watching
Just ordered these for my tundra, appreciate the video to learn some more on these! Truck looks great buddy!
Thanks man! Glad you found the video helpful!
After watching several of your videos on the vertex co’s I went out and bought a set and installed them.
Nice! Hope you are enjoying them man!
Great looking truck, and appreciate the video about these! Love your content bro! 🤘
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
Your setup looks great bro! Preciate the review.
Thanks bro! Got something big coming soon. Stay tuned
Mannnnn, those coilovers looks sick! I want to get those on my truck now!, but I am currently leveled with 33s on 17s so that would looks super goofy! I would need a whole new wheel and tire setup!
Great content Q keep them videos coming 👍💯
Preciate it man! Thanks for watching!
Great video, I just lifted my taco with RC and these and so far I am impressed with the ride also.
I know right pretty good product they have made. Thanks for watching
Hell yea I’m more excited now, because I just got my RC for my taco lol…I can’t wait to test it out at the beach
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 you will love it I lost some gas mileage but it was expected what size tires you running
I have the FOX coilovers with the reservoir in the front and ICON upper A-arms with a leveled truck. The ride is amazing, 4WP did a great job. I agree with Pete, the fox you can rebuild so I bit the bullet and did the set in front and 2.0 IFP in the back, because I plan to have for at least 10 years. Q I love the videos keep it going. My next project is to remove the F150 badges but rather add a new badge I plan to add vents instead this summer.
Preciate your feed back man. One day I’m hoping I can ride on a bds coilovers truck to compare. Vents…I gotta see this!!! Never seen that before. I appreciate the support
which Fox's you have @user-hy2tk9gm1y because my truck i will have till it dies. I just bought a 2022 2500 AT4
Just got my vertex coilovers in the mail today. Super excited to put them in! I also agree there must be a break in period. I had the 6" RC lift with spacer put in last summer and there was definitely a break in for those shocks. Rides better now but feels like it's always in "off road mode", which is why I bought the vertex setup
You’ll definitely love the vertex vs the spacer
Ill add. He installed them right. I put them on backwards. Meaning, the hose you see I put it on the back side. Well, this cause it to rub on the tire. I fixed it with a zip tie. But, take note when installing them. Do it like how his is. No zip tie needed. Friendly fyi!
New subscriber and the owner of a 2016 F150 Lariat. Your truck is VERY nice Bro!
Thanks man! And thanks for subbing and coming to KickinItWithQ!!
Great video bro. I just got mine and love them. Like your set up too. Nice truck
Congrats man! Definitely a worthy almost must have purchase
What number setting do you run? I am back and fourth between 2 and 3. Has yours soften up with miles?
I put 2 inch leveling coils on my F150. After 2 years the lower mounting bracket started sqealing loud. The shop pulled it out removed the mounts. Sanded, greased and re installed. 4 months later I have a nice riding truck that sqeaks like a mattress.
Nice bro glad they got you all squared away and riding smooth again
Nice.
Need to get me some on My 2017 Lariat fx4 sport 5.0l. 😁❤👍👍👍
Thanks 4 your honest review Q.
God bless. 🙏👊👍
You won’t be disappointed! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the review brother, I just order this for my Tacoma…been reviewing these for awhile…I’m exciting when they get install, plus I save so much money than getting fox’s or kings…look like rough country came a long way can’t wait to test this out 👍🏽
Oh yea badass truck bro
Nice man! I’m happy with them and hopefully you have the same experience
Any advise that I need to know on them…yea once my package got to my house I couldn’t sleep just thinking about them, excited to hit the beach…
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 nah nothing really. Pretty straight forward
Update just got them install, man I like them drive smooth and the height is perfect on my Tacoma
@@tonydouangphachanh5343 now that you’ve had these for your Tacoma for a little while how do u like them? Would u buy them again? Anything you don’t like?
You could also add a sumospring coil help to limprove ride even more
I drove from Chicago to Florida on a 6 in lift doing on average 80-90 mph. Before these I could barely turn or go fast safely. I know other trucks are like how? Front and back vertex . Trust it’s the single most important addition to a lift . I can drive my truck like a car
Thanks for sharing that feedback and experience man! They definitely are great shocks!
Great explanation bro..one day fam one day, trying for a home in the fall I'm penny pinching haha
Haha I’m with you bro. Family first coilovers can wait
Right on brotha! Me and my buddy are going to lift his truck with a rough country kit.
Nice! Congrats!
Thanks Q! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
They look really good. I had mine for over 2 years not once had a problem so my answer but then there worth the money 💰
Agreed! Definitely worth the money
@@KickinItWithQ oh by the way Q your the best bro on explaining everything that’s done to your truck
@@pelon4374 I appreciate the words, bro more than you know! Glad you enjoyed the videos definitely thank you for watching and supporting 🤝🏾
If you were a salesman you would have sold me! However I'm already in the process of getting them installed on my 2013 chevy avalanche with the RC 7.5 lift. I really hope they ride as good as you say they do
You’ll like them bro! Just give them time to break in and Best thing about it you can choose how stiff or soft you want them to be with the dial
Great video brother, thanks for the input.
Glad you enjoyed it man! Thanks for watching!
Just got my complete kit today. Trying to find some traction and kickers for my 2013 before I install
Rough country might make them
thanks for the video! are you still loving them? looking at doing the 3 inch vertex on a new lariat.
Absolutely! They are 1000% worth the money.
Good info Q. My next truck im gonna lift.
Yes sirr lifted life!
If you actually offroad, and do baja pre runner type stuff , then you will realize the absolute intent and benefit .
Nice truck brother
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching!
Love the color of your truck!
I appreciate that bro 🤝🏾
Question regarding the BDS upper control arm. Did you get those powder coated to that nice red color?
Yes I had that done by a shop. They usually are black
I have them on my 2018 z71 and I love them!
Nice! They are a great coilover
I just bought the Ford 6in Lifted N3 Struts | Loaded (14-21 F-150 4WD) do you recommend returning them and saving more money to buy the Vertex Coilovers? the different is huge?
If you can’t afford it now that’s fine just save and then you can just swap and add the coilovers. But I definitely recommend upgrading to the coilovers. Much better Ride
Quick question do you have any other blocks to give it a lift ? Or does the lift come straight from the coil over ?
It came straight from coilovers I didn’t add or change the rear block
I think the black part going down, makes the truck go up. It add more preload going down.
Looks legit
Your right! I. I caught that after I raised mine. They definitely worth the money
I need help, I’m looking to buy these in the 6.5-7.5 version and it says that’s only for the 2wd. The 4wd version only goes to 5.5-6.5. Do you have the 7.5 and it fit with the 4wd?
I have the 6in lift so I got the 5.5-6.5 with 4wd.
Bruh those look nice. I found a 6Inch rough country lift for 1300 hundreds dollars on ebay .... iam going with 325 35 28 tires. 38inch tall tires thanks for the video bruh
Thanks for. Watching man and that thing going I look right sitting on 38s! 💪🏾🔥
@@KickinItWithQ yessir thank you bruh. We luv our trucks ford 150 💪
@@rondremckennon3277 💪🏾💪🏾
What other upgrades you got besides coil over I got coil over and want to keep upgrading suspension please help
Upgrades related to suspension?
I just found this video. I put these coil overs with a 5inch lift on my Sasquatch Bronco. My question is when I go over a speed bump I get like a metallic like noise…I know there is a break in. Did you experience this at all?
What’s good bro no I didn’t get any noise in mind. I know a few guys have reported noises with theirs and for what I’ve heard rough country did the knowledge of defect and ship them out new ones so I’ll take it back to your installer see what’s going on
I have a couple questions. Do you have a lift in the front as well as the coilovers or just the coilovers? What size tires are you running?
You have to have a lift kit already installed
Lift and coilovers. Running 37inch tires
A little crazy that they don't send a coil over wrench with the kit considering the cost....
Dude, love your videos lol
Preciate it man! Glad you like them . I definitely appreciate your support 💪🏾💯
@@KickinItWithQ we'll cross paths one day....I'm in Wylie
Is it the same BDS front/upper control arms on the 2WD as the 4WD?
I’m not sure bro. Gotta check out there website
Is there any negative side or suspension maintenance that you have to worry about when upgrading from factory suspension?
Yea and that’s actually a good video idea. The only real “maintenance” is ensuring you get the lift kit retorque at least once a year. The other isn’t maintenance but since you raised the truck higher than what it was designed for, certain components might need replacing sooner than they would be if it was stock high (ball joints, tire rods, bearings etc)
@@KickinItWithQ thanks Q
So what setting numbers did you find comfortable for you for the front and back?
2-3 in front. I don’t have them in rear
Can you change the height once they are on or do have to do it before you install them?
No you can do it after they are on. Actually just had mine raised 3/4 inch on driver and full inch on passenger side
So… this is hilarious but I’ve had my vertex complete kit installed for 6 months now, I’ve asked many folks.. but still am unsure: if I’m on the highway do I turn the knobs up to 8 or 1? If I’m off-road… 1 or 8?
It depends on what you are trying to achieve but daily driving I ride mines on 3. Some people like their suspension stiffer others softer . If you go off-roading I believe most make the suspension stiffer so that be like 8 but this is at higher speed off roading
2 is a pretty good all around setting to have them on softer on the rough higher on the smooth and sand
I was looking at RC website and only have them for 4wd not for 2wd can I still use the 4wd ones for my 2wd truck
I think so send them an email they’ll tell you
so with a 6 inch rough country lift and coilovers will it make the truck sit at 8.5 inches?
Nah the coilovers took it to about 7in then I raised them too
Anyone feel bouncy with these? Have them on my 2021 both front and back and I can’t seem to get the bouncy feel to stop.
Maybe change the setting to a stiffer one 1 sofest 8 firmest
Did it feel very bumpy/bouncy at first? I just put them on my silverado feels very bouncy/bumpy. I have it on setting #2.
It definitely took a 500 ish miles before they seem to break in imo. But we do have different trucks so not sure if you’ll notice the same
Those upper control Arms bds are for the 2wd and 4x4 or just 4x4???
Both
How the front angles on axles?
It’s lifted 6in so they aren’t stock but not bad imo. I honestly don’t know what bad angles would look like.
How was your buying experience with net direct? Do they negotiate price or are the pretty much set?
They are great bro the people are super nice easy to work with but they do not negotiate prices they are set
3 months already? Geez 2021 is going by so fast.
Hella fast!!
Ok, I installed them. Floating back and fourth with #2 and #3. Which did you settle with and did the coil overs seem to settle in and soften up?
I settled on 3. One was too soft
@@KickinItWithQ How long before they settle? Right now their on 3. I feel their 50-50. Simetimes their nice and soft over stuff, then other times, their firm like I hit a big pot hole. So, I am not sure if its the springs that are to firm and need to settle or. Thoughts or experience on topic? Appreciate your time.
I feel like mines broken in after about 500-700 miles
@@KickinItWithQ Thank you Sir! Appreciate it. I'll be patient then. lol
@@cat5tracker581 I am in the same boat as you. Sometimes they are great and then sometimes its rough even on 1-2 setting. I’m should be at 500+ miles on mine but still back and forth. Been playing with tire pressure also. 3” vertex, 35-11.5/20 ridge grapplers. A part of me honestly thinks it’s the ridge grapplers affecting the ride more
Do you have to change the oil/fluid in them?
I never heard anyone mention that. These can’t be rebuilt like the fox Shocks. Maybe with the fox you can change the oil/fluid..?
I’m here in Fort Worth where did you get them and who installed them for you?
I bought and had them installed at DFW camper Carrol in Dallas off 35. ruclips.net/video/q5qWqm6x1qM/видео.html
Now I gotta get front and back!!! 😩
😂 bro you won’t regret it lol
can i get coil overs in front AND back? or it dont go like that?
Yea but In the back they are called Reservoir shocks
My guy tuned in
Back back back!!!!!!!!!!
Bro you talking facts already video just started 😂
I've only heard of coilovers with cars neat stuff dude ... very informative
Thanks bro! I appreciate you watching my guy! Yea man I always record at least 2videos when I do film. Dude coilovers are big in the truck and jeep world. So curious how much they go for in the car world?
Did you set them to 1? Mine are set to 1 and they're the softest suspension I've ever ridden on since brand new.
I ride them at about 2-3. One was too soft for me
@@KickinItWithQ I made that comment when I heard you say that they softened up later after saying they were riding rough. I set my rears to 1 and fronts to 4 on my Chevy and they've been like butter since day 1. Glad you found what works for you. Great looking truck.
Thanks man! I appreciate that 💪🏾💯
Does the coilover ride better than stock in term.og comfort and performance
Yes 100%
Nice. I have a set of these on my tacoma.
Nice!
Did you have to get the level kit in the back?
Nah the lift kit comes with the proper block
Those do look nice
Definitely are good upgrade
How did the coilovers hold up now it's 2 years later
Great I did one year update video. ruclips.net/video/kRIWiyEmBaw/видео.htmlsi=d618iIe8WohmCxty
I have Fox 2.5 dsc front and rear and the front is much better than the rear. I am sure I need much better than stock leaf packs for sure, there is so much axle wrap and poor quality with the stock leaf springs.
Agreed!
Great Video! I just threw on a 3.5" Ready Lift SST lift on my 21 Ram 1500 and I am not happy with it at all. Rides like a dump truck now. After seeing this video, I decided to pull the trigger on a RC 6" lift Coilover kit with vertex in the front and rear. Thanks for the info and great videos.
Nice man! Keep me updated on them and make sure you get them adjusted properly so they sit even on each side.
ruclips.net/video/Qcirxds1WMA/видео.html
Idk about the fox with the ressy on it but i had the fox 2.0 i got them on sale for $725 and no not worth the money
Really…what’s your experience with them?
@@KickinItWithQ 3yrs on a 2010 f150. They just rode like normal stock shocks on the street and offroad yes better then stock but for like $840 when not on sale I expected a lot more from them. They didnt even come at the height fox said it would. I had to put it on take it off take apart the coilover adjust it then put it back together then put it on the truck again. Amd the 2.0 dont adjust with a spanner wrench you have to take it apart
Ahh Gotcha. Thanks for sharing man
been a minute man, quick question, do you have a RC 6" lift with the coil overs ? did that add any height ? I have 37s but I rub. I asked this before i think
Yes I do and yes, when I added a call overs, it definitely added some height to the front end. I also had a lot of trim and cutting.
@@KickinItWithQ how did you get the rear to level out ?
@@anthonymoscon18 the rear sat higher than the front so when I added coilovers it leveled out front with the rear.
@@KickinItWithQ the shop tells me they wont do it for me because of parts breaking in the future. I am looking at an 8" Full Throttle kit so I dont need to cut the bumber. I am confused so frustrating lol. did you take your truck to a body shop for the trim ?
Yep a lifted truck shop here locally did it. Just gotta find a shop willing to do it
How many inches can you go up in height with the coillovers being 6 inches already ???
I’m not sure how accurate bro but I heard some guy say they go all way up to 9 inches in the front with them
Thank you bro I appreciate it🙏🏻, you convinced me i’m going to put them on my ram 1500 4wd 🔥
@albertogutierrez1847 hope you love them as much as I do

Mannnnn these are $2k right now for my 2021 f150 😫😫
Dang!!! Inflation 🤦🏽♂️
Do you still like this
Yes and I absolutely love them! Def worth the purchase
Fox is a lot stiffer than RC....im not jumping my truck so RC is good for me..not sure why people hate on RC
Haha yea if you cruising around town RC fine. If you have a looking to upgrade to a quality then consider the fox
Definitely Agreed, RC for the On-Road Cruisers... LoL 😂... I don't see me riding off-road unless, need be...
***Note: I don't have a 4wheel drive either, which I don't see myself using on road...

Looks good. I’m getting these for my truck.
I love them so far definitely worth the money
