    People only hate rough country because they’d rather spend $5,000 on a lift to never go off-roading with and use it for a daily just to flex on Instagram, rough country isn’t bad I had it on my 2015 Ram and now putting a 3.5 inch lift on my 5th gen 4runner

      i dont plan on off roading, however the roads i drive on are rough enough to be considered offroad, and i feel every bump in my stock suspension.

    Great video Brian! I was looking at rough country for the lift on our JK but for about the same price range for a 2 in lift that we want and reading on the wrangler forums that the Rancho 2 in with the progressive springs and 9000 adjustable shocks to dial in your ride sounds much much for our needs. Plus with being at 2in I won’t have to mess with the exhaust pipe with the shocks. Maybe down the road I’ll replace the shocks with fox or falcons but for now I can’t wait

    I've had a 3" and a 6" both on Titan's. Probably my only gripe was the rear lift blocks rather than lift springs, and the sway bar links. If your a serious offroad guy, your gonna want long travel with coil overs anyways. These are more for "looks" and function. I did end up cutting the stock sway bar links and extending them.

    Last July I put a ReadyLift 2" front 1" rear leveling kit on my '04 Trailblazer EXT. It's the spacer style that goes between the upper strut mount and the strut tower. The rear is a simple aluminum spacer. I decided to put a proper lift kit on the front. I chose the BDS kit over the Rough Country for 1 reason, and it's not some preconceived bias based on a friend's cousin's brother-in-law's bad experience with RC. Chevy made the strut towers with 3 strut mounting holes, but then used only two of for their factory struts. Why? I don't know! ReadyLift designed their leveling kit to use all 3 holes, and BDS did the same with their strut mount replacement lift kit. The RC strut mount replacement lift kit only uses the two original holes. I felt that the extra strength of using the 3rd hole was important, others may not feel that way. That's why I went with the BDS kit. HOWEVER, I am going to be using RC's N3 shock on the rear, so maybe that will help make up for it. I also ordered (and received) RC's shock boots for those shocks. I know I got those boots, because I checked them out when they arrived. You think I can find them now? Noooooooooooo! They have disappeared into a crack in the space-time continuum! I have looked everywhere I have an anywhere! I know how to guarantee I'll find them though: order another set! Works every time!

      Yea. Thanks for the comment and feedback. RC just gets a lot of negativity. I’m not really loyal to any brand. I have friends that rock the metalcloak game changer and the rock Krawler and have issues with them too. I don’t think any brand is without its faults, and of course my entire lift including shocks probably cost less than your shocks, I can’t say that I have any complaints and wanted to make a real use unbiased review. I bought a 4 in. lift from Rough Country for my wife's Jeep. It it rides nice and handles the trails very well. The only problem was she didn't disconnect the sway bar links before hitting the trails (user error) and it bent the hell out of the quick connect sway bar links as well as damaged the sway bar itself. Don't forget to disconnect before wheeling. I know most die hard Jeep people just leave them disconnected but I encourage her to drive on the road with them connected for safer handling. Put the N3 struts on a 2020 Ram 1500, and now on a 2020 Ford Ranger. In both cases, noticeably better ride than stock. If their rear shocks are just as good as the struts then that is how I will go on the rear.

Just did a 4 hour trip to and from 500+ miles running 90 mph at times, no shimmy or shakes and straight down the Pa turnpike! Im on 33-12.5- 20s! For the money rough country makes an amazing product. Yes there are better products, but for quite a bit more money. Honestly, if you’re short on money get the full lift kit from rough country and go back later and buy some better struts. Even if they are the longer rc shocks or fox. Also upgraded to the rc upper control arms. I put 15,000 miles on it in 2 years beating it like i always have both rear shocks already leaked out one upper control arm boot has already busted and now my coilover just went. Im sticking with motorcraft on everything from now on not a single issue in 100,000 miles. My upgrades have all failed in a year or two after 8 perfect years with ford parts. I do beat the hell out of it in the Rockies on jeep trails 35s winch camper decked. At max payload constantly but the ford parts lasted where rough country didn't.

    RC shocks suck! I just replaced my stock JL shocks with RC Monotube M1s …I now feel every pebble on the road…I am returning the steering stabilizer, installed a Fox. I hate taking these brand new shocks off, but they are awful.

  • @davidamarquez
    @davidamarquez 3 года назад

    Here's my honest opinion based on experience. I test drove a brand new JL at the dealership that had a 2.5" RC lift installed with the N3 shocks and 35s on 20s. Rode VERY NICE and comfortable on the road and highway since that's where I spend 99.9% of my time when it's not parked. When I bought a stock JL, I compared other lifts and people said to stay away, but I had just experienced a great ride quality from RC so I decided to go that route, except I went with a 3.5" lift instead with 35s on 20s as well. It also included a control arm drop bracket and Adjustable track bar. BAD decision. That 1 additional inch is makes a huge difference in ride quality I had never imagined would happen. It's rough, bouncy, feel the washboard and road imperfections and body movement. Now I'm in the process of doing more research and deciding what to upgrade to next. If I ever get a 2.5" lift, I'll consider RC, other than that, never again.

      If it’s too bouncy let some air out of your tires. I have 37 inch tires. PSI was at 40 and I went down to 37/36 PSI. You can feel the difference in the ride. You’ll be fine after that.

    • @davidamarquez
      @davidamarquez 2 года назад

      @@davidrobertson6226 Actually, 6 months later, I am giving a different update: I still have the RC coils, but upgraded the shocks to Fox 2.0. The fox performs really well offroad, but onroad, it isn't exactly the best riding shock as everyone says. Rough Country does OK on the road, however, they blow out quickly, just as one of mine did. I also changed my wheel setup from 35x on 20x12 E rated tire to 37s on 17s D rated tire. That made a world of a difference. PSI was always at 28 for both.
