Great job ,Not only that this is one of the few videos where the operator uses a 4500Y,You proved that you don’t need 31 -32.5 hp To cut brush with Ventrac. I believe the Y is the best version made due to a lack of electronics and lack of emissions equipment because it’s 25 hp. Even with fuel as expensive as it is now using off-road diesel in the 4500y It’s going to be a lot more efficient than any other version of the Ventrac,
Oh totally this machine works perfect for me. I can go a full 8 hours running at 3,000 rpm and not need to fill up until I’m finished. Thanks for the comment.

wow! i watch a LOT of week/grass/brush cutting videos on you tube with Ventracs, walk behind mowers, and Compact tracked loaders with rotary brush cutters. i have to say your vide with this Ventrac was one of the very best videos i've seen showing the capability of this machine and a rough-cut mower. i have a 142 acre farm in W.Va. and much of it looks exactly like what you are cutting. i always assumed i would need a pretty big CTL with a brush cutter to get through the massive weeds and thick brush. your diesel Ventrac seemed to power through VERY high and thick weeds. other than you hitting the one stump/tree jamming the mower, your machine went through stuff that looks like it was 4-5 feet high and really thick. i know Ventracs are expensive machines but your video is one of the few REALLY rough terrain that this machine was able to go through. i can only say i am extremely impressed by what your Ventrac was able to do.

Great video - I have the 4520Y and do not have any complaints. What kind of camera are you using for your videos? I would like to start videoing come of my jobs.
It cuts easily but not a fan of the finished look. I like to see more of a mulched up cleaner look. This just kind of looks like it was pushed over.

I agree, maybe if the Ventrac can tow behind a mower to even out the grass it would look better.
Need a blade with one of those 1 in vertical tabs so it cuts everything that’s pushed over.

Seems to work pretty good as a brush cutter.
I know that this is the first time cutting this, but I hope you go through and give it a second cut so it will give it a better finished look.
This is hunting land and the owner wanted me out ASAP. Normally I would go over it and mulch it up better. Thanks for the comment.

Deer aren't bothered by tractors. I've had deer stand in a field within 50 yrds while Bush hogging. They will come back 5 mins after you are gone.
Yeah, I know the Ventrac can give a better finish than that. He would get about the same result dragging a couple of cutting blades off a grader around the field. I'm sure the rough finish is a result of cutting height and high speed. Like he said the customer wanted the quick,fast and cheap cut. I'm sure that machine can do better, this is not a good representation of its ability. I'll check out some of his other videos just to get the distress of this cut out of my eyes. Lol
I have two of these and they are very good , i use them for cleaning up . But my main mulcher is a 6 foot front mount on a D4 CAT , low range and let it eat ........................
Seems like a small tractor with a bush hog would work a lot better, plus you would have a front lift also to push small limbs out of the way, also to lift other stuff with.

25 hp the lowest they offer but I have no issues with that. I find it to be enough for what I use it for. Thanks for the question.

Loll if it was just a bush hog sure. With over 30 attachments it's more capable than any other tractor on the market.
