Solid video. This is a major repair for this type of appliance. It took me a few hours to complete but I had no problems at all using this video as a reference and now its like my 10+ yr old dishwasher is brand new again! Definitely more satisfying than buying a new dishwasher.
Great job! We are happy to hear that your dishwasher is fixed. If you would like to give us a review, here is our link: g.page/r/CcVUrahZNozMEBM/review Have a great day!
I thought this instructional video was very clear and thorough. It helped me make up my mind that I will never undertake such a complicated task on my own; seriously. Thanks.
You guys rock! Parts arrived today, and I fixed my SHU43C02UC/14 8310 in under 2 hours. Only one gash to the knuckle. That metal sump edge is SHARP! Slightly older model. No handy screw harness for main power, just wire nuts. Had to remove wiring harnesses from base to be able to get enough slack in the wires, and metal side covers that were not in video, but close enough. Impeller was shot. Thanks a bunch. It's humming away in the background as I type.
George Luft We're glad to know the repair was successful and that our video was helpful to you. Thanks for mentioning about the sharpness of the part. It's true - that's why it's always important to pay attention to our video's warnings about sharpness. Thanks for making that point!
Thanks for this video. It didn't necessarily help me diagnose my problem, but once I did, this video helped me disassemble and reassemble my washer to change the pump impeller. I have a Bosch SHE66C05/48 and the unit is almost exactly the same as the unit in this video. My symptoms were that the washer would fill with water and also drain properly, but when the washer would enter the cleaning (spray) cycle, there was little to no pressure. Turns out the impeller had fallen apart and needed to be replaced. This video did a great job of walking me through the repair. Many thanks.
Yea! Our 13 year old Bosch dishwasher recovered nicely after impeller transplant! Thank you for this video. It is very well done.Brenda, the reason we suspected it was only the impeller and not the circulation pump was we could hear the pump running but not the upper arms slinging water against the cabinet and door.
Thank you so much guys. Great instructional video. Clear and concise. Job done! Can't emphasise enough just how sharp the sump metal edge is. Still bleeding an hour later ...
This video was very helpful. I had one small issue in that the new pump spacer that was included with my kit was 0.041” longer than the original. This length did not allow the impeller to make a seal with the new shaft seal. I had to use the original pump spacer. Thanks for a very helpful video
Ya know every time I watch one of your video's it makes me want to take apart stuff in my house and replace parts! Seriously, Thank you for saving me TONS OF CASH your video's are always the best! Thanks' to you my wife thinks I'm some handi-man! Your prices are great as well!
This is a great video! By anu chance can you give the part number or a link to the part. I have the exact same washer and i want to make sure i order the correct thing. Thank you!
We have a Bosch dishwasher Model SHX56B06UC/14. It's been leaking from the bottom but only when it's washing. We took bottom off. If we wait 20-24 hrs before we do the next wash it doesn't leak which is puzzling us. Are there gaskets that can be replaced that would be causing this?
Great Video. This should fix my Bosch SHU42L06 which started making a funny noise instead of pumping the water around the spray arms. Took it apart to find the green impeller had come off the white base (poor/cheap design). Just have to wait for the parts to arrive now. The shaft seal had been leaking for some time, but I never noticed it, despite the 1mm gap the seal has all around the shaft. Some of the assembly details are different, but it is close enough.
New Impeller in Canada $140... ugh! Going to try reassembling 2 pieces with PC-7 epoxy with remaining stumps! Should I be worried about balance, materials, etc. Has anyone else tried reassembling/ adhesion with any success? Rings, etc all look good.
@mark robertson Its been a year now, no problems with balance or noise; only took about 20 mins to clean up and fix impeller, working great! Having to basically disassemble the whole dishwasher to repair, whole other adventure ;)
Great video! Not exactly the same model, but this was enough to get me through the job. No doubt that this saved me at least $500 for a repair call or the cost of a new dishwasher. I would love to know what the justification is for this piece of plastic to cost $100 though.
My 2 year old bosch MODEL SHEM63W55N dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. It start giving me trouble from last couple months. It has three racks the top rack is small and we don't load much stuff in it.The middle rack dishes are always half uncleaned but bottom rack is little better than middle one. I checked both arms and filters they are perfectly clean. Machine is making steam and draining water properly. some time i found half used detergent pouch dropped in the middle rack pull pocket. I tried to operate on heavy cycle (2.45 hrs) but nothing help. Even the light load on heave setting doesn't clean. Do you think the water pressure is not enough for middle arm or impeller problem ? Is this impeller is very common problem in these bosh machines?
8 years later. How did you empty the metering tank from the left hand side of the appliance? It seems that your appliance is brand new. Not a drop of water to be seen.
I have a 4 year old SHE43P05UC60 and the water is not making up well to the top rack sprayer. does not rotate any longer but water drips down from it. openings on it are not clogged from what I see. Bottom sprayer arm moves but doesn't seem to be throwing water well as well. disinfectant light no longer comes on either I suspect related.. Lots of hard water and gunk from dishwasher liquid detergent in there and chunks of hard detergent and food I cleaned out. whole bottom is almost white from it. you guys think something is stuck or any recommendations on what to check/replace? great vid thanks much
+Adventures in Droning Sounds like the water valve needs to be replaced. Try filling the bottom of the dishwasher with a gallon of water and then see if spray arms are throwing water. If they are then more than likely you need a new water valve.
I'll try, but the bottom tub always does has a large pool of water in it during cycles when I've checked so its definitely making it in there already. the stream is just weak on the bottom arm, and practically nonexistent on the top, whereas in the past if I open the door during the cycle water would be coming out and down from everywhere top and bottom. I do have to constantly pick out solid pieces of either white hard water deposits or hardened liquid detergent flecks out of all the arm holes, but even after I clear it out same issue with the weakness when the holes are clear inside. I'll likely also be replacing the bottom cylinder filter and bottom flat filter as those are almost completely clogged with either hard water and/or dried liquid detergent. May try CLR to clean those. Maybe something is stuck? thanks much
thanks I'll take a look, assuming I'll have to dismantle things as in your video to get to the impeller. Maybe I should just replace it with this kit if I have to have it all apart.
I just replaced the drain pump and water still doesn't drain. Do you think I should now try to replace the impeller assembly? Is the next line of attack when water doesn't drain? We have 4yr old SHE4am model.
we did this replacement and went great, however it filled began a cycle looked great but then the pump started to run to drain the dishwasher while mid cycle while the door was open and the pump hasn't stopped since. sounds like all the pump wants to is drain the washer regardless if resetting the washer. any idea if we did something wrong?
I bet you had the same problem I did. The new pump spacer is too long by about 0.040”. This prevents the impeller from making a seal on the new shaft seal and the pan under the dishwasher fills with water. This triggers your drain motor and since the float is held up it never shuts off
There is no such thing as a "flat head" screw driver- it is a standard or slotted screw driver- flat head refers to the head of the screw being flush with the surface of the installation. Incredibly concerning you are not using the right terms. Also the circuit barker should be properly locked out before any work is done- just flipping it off is not enough by any means- and even after lock out you should short out the terminals in case of any back EMF or capacitor discharge. The "electric" caution symbol should have been up when disconnecting the wire.

There's nothing wrong with that! We're happy we could help you make the decision.

I had the same issue, impeller had separated. This video was just what I needed!

Rita Martin You are welcome.

Thank you. Watching this made me feel no guilt about calling a repair man. Wow! :)
Yes certainly can be a daunting repair, thanks!

Hi, great video. Really. Just one issue of note - an omission; when reassembling, you have omitted to reconnect the sump outlet hose.

I'm getting error "99" on de display of this same model. Any guess/tips to resolve this ? Thanks in advance.

It's like a Mercedes auto; German quality, German pricing, down to the $3 piece of plastic that costs you a $100 to get it.
Went through all that and it still fills and hums and drains. It’s ~20yrs old.
I have a Bosch she58c05uc how do I know if it's the impeller or the pump?
Nazareth Labetti, It sounds like the control board fail too.

+Adventures in Droning Sounds like there is something stuck in the impeller preventing the pump from moving the water up into the arms.

I hate my Bosch dishwasher. Ive contacted Bosch and they did nothing.
Anoxi_ Rain Sorry to hear you've had a problematic dishwasher!

Not using correct terms but you should manually spell check circuit barker. Most barkers are mean or just make a lot of nose
(*noise) 😁😆
Bosch is very complicated appliance 🤮
80% of the dishwasher is dissembled, I expect a very expensive repair if the repair is ordered.
