Fantastic walk-through! This was exactly what I needed. One small upgrade that might help folks: after you connect the braided supply line to the elbow/intake, you can turn on the water to check for leaks *before* doing the rest of the re-assembly (as the valve defaults to “off”). I figured out this short-cut after putting everything together, discovering a small leak at elbow/intake connection, and then having to disassemble everything again to fix it. Again, thanks! Grateful folks like you put these videos together.
Haha. You are absolutely right. It seems obvious now, but I didn't think of it at the time. Hopefully other people read this and do it your way. Glad it helped.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Video's like this give RUclips value. You're video saved me a ton of time figuring out how to service my Bosch. Thanks again.
Thanks for the guide. I just finished repairing mine and it was quite helpful. Like the other commenter prior to me I was able to pull the assembly out the front to avoid disassembling the manifold. Removing the spring clamp and hose after those years of setting into shape though was a beast. You made it look way too easy.
Thank you - It worked and I am so happy. It's been a while since I had a successful project. I really appreciate it. I can't imagine figuring this out and filming it at the same time.
Great job buddy I'm having the same problem with my kenwood dishwasher I will give this ago keep up the great videos regards nigel from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing. It looks like you only needed to disconnect the water feed line from manifold and then unscrew the valve from the front side and pull it out, disconnect wires, replace the valve, re-connect wires and the tubing to the manifold. The reason I am saying that is I saw similar video on appliance parts channel, except your dishwasher looks slightly different to theirs, but very similar to mine and the problem looks very similar too. Thanks again for posting.
No problem. The hardest part was trying to figure out what was wrong. It would probably only take about an 1 hour if you already know what you are changing. Don’t forget to turn off your water to the dishwasher.
Thanks for sharing, Smikey. Saved me a bit of time even though I knew the valve was bad (the solenoid actually popped off and half flooded my kitchen!!). You probably know this already, but silicone grease is more appropriate for o-rings than petroleum jelly. Not critical, but better in the long run. Cheers again!
On your model, Bosch built the entire dishwasher around the inlet valve! The model that I have, the water inlet valve is little bit different, it is in the back and at least looks significantly easier to replace. I will know in next few days when I get the replacement part but few videos that I have watched, nothing else needs to be removed except the valve.
Bosch dishwasher model SHE43F15UC/64 FD910401139 55 v at water valve with valve disconnected, will not operate the valve. Does the power come from the control panel? Is there a replacement control board available?
Short answer is that I don't know. What I would do is do a Google search of your model and see if you can find a wiring diagram. As for you second question, I would look on a parts supplier like amresupply.com You can do a search by model and see what is available.
On some higher end model such as yours there is a pan on the bottom to collect water incase there is a leak. There is also a sensor at the bottom of the pan to detect the leak and give an error code. I got similar pan on my Samsung dishwasher with the leak sensor. On my Kenmore it's all expose so the water just leak to the floor. So if you have a pan and there is a water leak it will cause the machine to malfunction. Not drain properly etc...
@@smikey. The pan works if it's a small leak. If the valve broke at the neck and the water leak out alot then the pan will fill up quick and will leak on to the floor. If there is a crack on the drain hose for example that's a small and doesn't leak out often that will work well if you have the pan. Or if the inlet valve is defective and drip a little then it would works as well.
I am cleaning the water out of the bottom of the dishwasher. Specifically where the water leak valve is. Then I am putting the water manifolds back on. Other people said they could get the water inlet valve with out removing anything but the valve. To get one hose off the water inlet valve, I thought it necessary.
the kenmore machine use the same valve. They probably came from the same factory. I just replaced mine. The machine look very similar. Got my part on Amazon for a bit cheaper.
Wow. Awesome. Who knows who is making the parts for what. But what I am surprised with is how many times parts are labeled Bosch when I open them up. I was working on a 6.7L cummins today and the fuel pressure switch was Bosch.
@@smikey. they all come from the same factory. They just put different brand logo on. The tub look exact same on mine. Maybe different on the outside but the same inside.

@@smikey. it turned out my dishwasher is 11 years old and was made by Bosch. The new Kenmore are made by Whirpool now. So it's about time that valve broke as yours is also roughly 10 years old. Another 5 years and I'll probably need a new dishwasher. Still much better than my Samsung dishwasher I had. The Samsung valve broke also after 6 years. I just got rid of it because the dish rack is rusted.
Finding the water inlet valve, diagnosing the problem and trying to understand how it worked took the most amount of time. If you only have to replace the valve then 45 mins to 1 hour. It was not too hard. And I hate shopping so it saved time there too!
Hey Smikey. Just curious, what tool did you use to remove the screws from the bottom panel? I was told a 1/4 in nut driver but they look like Torx screws to me.
so if I understand correctly, the repair can be done from the front without pulling the dishwasher out of its casing? How did you rule out a defect in the draining valve? Hard to tell if water clean or dirty. Thanks Smiley!
I had to remove the side to get my valve out. Another person posted on this video they didn’t have to on their model. To tell which valve, i shut off the fresh water supply under the sink. The water stopped filling up. Then turning it back on made the water start filling back up slowly.
@@smikey. I will try that tonight and see what happens! My machine must be 10 years old. I'm thinking it may good maintenance to change the inlet valve, check valve if only prophylactically... especially since I live in an area with very hard water. Your thoughts?
I found another fix that seems to work. My POS I mean dishwasher does the same thing. I keep getting error messages, E23, E24 and every now then, hol . I have taken it part cleaned the filter and cover, pulled the little plastic clip off and cleaned around the, drain motor. I use a air compressor and a shop vac to clean everything. I should mention the first month I had this wonderful thing the repairs guys came out 3 times the first month. Total of 9 times when it was still under warranty. It has Never worked like it is suppose to. One of them said they replaced the drain motor. But still sounds like a small motor boat. So I took my shop vac. and attached it to the drain hose. Now when I run a load of dishes and it goes into the drain mode I turn on the shop vac. it is easy to tell it sound like a motor boat. It is a pain to have to sit there turning on the switch. I have been looking around for a pump I could attach to the drain line, but as of yet I have not found one. Every once in a while I will just let it run without going through the hassle of using the shop vac. and sometimes it works. I am starting to wonder if these power ball cube things, are the problem. Could it be they are just gritty enough to cause these problems. One of the repair guys did tell me to use a half cup bleach and a half cup of vinegar every once in a while to keep it clean. When I do this I have to let it run an extra rinse cycle.
I wish I didn't buy a bosch dishwasher. Replaced the drain pump and still have water accumulation. Next is the control panel,it stops before the drain cycle

The old valve was not sealing properly letting water leak past its sealing surface.
