Logged in for the first time in a year just to leave comment that this fixed my dishwasher in 30 minutes, thanks for the great video. Had my appliance guy already scheduled, but didn't feel like doing dishes for 4 more days until he had an open window.
Today, my bosch dishwasher replied E15. My fuse box jumped last night and I hesitate what happened. Thank to Brandon for his useful video. I finally sort out the problem and clear all unwanted water under my old bosch dishwasher. I am very grateful for him.
Spot on! I fixed mine in 1 hour. I found out that 2 torx screws under the spray arm (fastening the drain assembly) were a bit loose and causing the leak. Thank you very much for the video, greetings from Holland!
I have done previous work on my Bosch, including replacing the impeller (for a different problem and which turned out to be unnecessary), based on other available videos. I watched your video for the E15 issue, and yours is one of the best. Clear, concise, and very practical. Appreciate your effort and contribution. And by the way, I seemed to have fixed the E15 per your procedure. Thank you.
I just fixed the Bosch- I called a repairman and never received a response, next I contacted Lowes to purchase a new machine - that's around a thousand + $ for Bosch 300 series, installation and take-away the old machine. So I decided to give it a look on U-tube. Took me about an hour t fix - thank you! Outstanding video.
Thanks for this!. My 2 y/o Bosch 500 series just got this error this morning. Sure enough the seals around the door were nice and crusty. Those who said to slide the unit out from under the cabinet about a foot and move the left side insulation out of the way to access the float sensor were bang on - what a top tip! Slid it out, dried off the float and sump area, slid it back in, re-leveled it, cleaned up the seals and door. Took maybe 45-60 min and back in action. Thanks again!
Found your video after getting an E15 error code on my Bosch dishwasher this morning. My husband and I followed your suggestions and it fixed the problem. We’re so appreciative of you putting this out there. It was quite easy with your help. Thank you so much!😊
Thanks Brandon! I got the E15 code, and I was about to call someone to come out to fix, but I thought I'd search to see if there was any info on the web. Found your video. I dove in and had it fixed in 45 minutes. You saved me hundreds of dollars.
Need to fix error code 15. Watched several others before watching this. This guy is a really great teacher, likely successful at whatever else he does in life. Depending on what you think the cause is, agree with other commenter that tilting backwards 45 degrees may solve problem temporarily or permanently, but watch this video regardless for good tips on preventing next time.
JUST FIXED MY BOSCH I FEEL LIKE A GOD!!! I WANT TO BE A PROFESSIONAL DISHWASHER REPAIRMAN NOW!!! WHAT A RUSH!!!! You are like one of the good cops in the movie, Fargo helping me when I’ve hit a moose on the road in the middle of the night in subzero temperatures! THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!!!
Nice video. Addition: if you have a recessed handle in the door, there are three screws to remove in the top of the recess in addition to the side screws to remove the door.
🎉thanks. Got my dishwasher working again in less than 30 minutes. I have a more recent 500 series. The only difference is that the outside of the door is constructed differently. I needed to take out all of the screws from the door and have someone hold it while I took off the lower plate and soaked up the water.
Shout out to Brandon. I watched your video when we got the error 15 message on our Bosch 800 series. I had not even been able to find out what the error 15 was on any of the sites that came up when I Googled it. That's when I resorted to a RUclips search and your channel came up. Thanks very much for your very clear and correct explanation of the problem and its fix.
Thank you for making this video! My guy was able to fix the issue and the error code is gone! I didn’t see the helpful comments until I came back here to express our appreciation and note the successful fix of a Bosch 800 throwing the dreaded E15.
You’re a rock star! Clear and thorough instructions led to an easy fix. Some notes: - I needed to remove the two top corner screws on my model. - I didn’t need to pull out the sensor. I just mopped up the water with the sensor still on. - I can’t believe how much calcification you have on your stainless drum. Your water must be super hard where you’re at. Thanks tons for the awesome video!
Yep - my model has the controls integrated in the door, so had to take the top screws out. Also - he should have introduced the German Shepard at the end there.
Adding gratitude for a very well-done and helpful video. I was able to take care of the problem myself in a short time. Adjusting to life alone without a partner who had taken care of these issue, so it was very empowering to know I can do it! I was appalled at all the crud on the rubber gaskets!
Leaving a comment for the ones with the handle on the inside of the door, you have to remove 3 screws under the handle. Took me a minute to figure it out. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much! I'm not at all handy, but I was able to get my Bosch up and running by following this in about an hour. I figured "it's already not working, its very much out of warranty, there's nothing to lose" and went for it. For those searching, I have a Bosch 500, model SHP65T55UC/07. Make sure you leave the top 4 screws on the door in so the control panel doesn't come out, and, since this model has a recessed handle, there are 3 screws (also Torx 20) under the handle that need to come out as well. Door was a touch tricky to get back on but even that went relatively smoothly, and, just for laughs, my unit had the wiring diagram in the same place yours did. Again, thanks!
Perfect explainer, fixed the machine. Thank you. One small note - the piece that houses the sensor, I took a while trying to find a gentle way of getting that off but actually you just grab it and pull it out. Bit of force is okay.
A link to this video should be given to all purchasers of Bosch dishwashers :) We've had ours for three years, and I have had to repeat this procedure twice. I am certain that I and the other contributors in this thread are not the only ones. I should just point out that a very slightly different procedure with the door is needed for built-in dishwashers, and it takes a bit of jiggling for the components to 'pop out', but it does the trick, and the wife is happy, so that's what counts. Thanks!
Perfect explanation and saved me so much time. Was on hold for 45 minutes to Bosch Support before looking for help on the Web....and this video made it soooo easy! Done in 15 minutes! Whooo Hoooo!
Was about to order a new dishwasher because the repair person led me to believe the repair might be over $400. Followed your instructions and no more error code E15 - only took about 25 minutes. Super helpful !!
I was going to follow this video, and I'm sure the instructions work. But before trying this, I reset the breaker and then held the power button in for three seconds to hard reset, which cleared the error, and has never been a problem since. Worth a quick try first.
Thank you, I fixed my girlfriend’s E15 this morning. I just want to add that the sensor needs more force than you’d expect to detach. Great service! :-)
Amazing video thank you so much. One addition that might be helpful - I have a 500 series dishwasher, the kind with the handle recessed into the door as opposed to one sticking out that you can "grab". I couldn't figure out how to get the door cover off despite following the video instructions and didn't want to risk taking all the top screws off and having the control panel come off. And then I saw there were three TORX screws holding it in place just below the handle on the outside (can also be removed with the T20). Once I removed those, everything else went exactly as in the video. Thank you again Brandon!
Thanks for this video. My husband was getting more and more frustrated, as the washer kept trying to empty itself and would not shut off. He tried the reset button and even a hard reset by throwing the circuit breaker off, and nothing was working. Then I found this video. After he took a break and calmed down, he was able to get the dishwasher running again in about 15 minutes. By the way, like some of the others mentioned, we were able to slide ours out from under the counter and access the sensor area through the left-side insulation.
You nailed it, Brandon. I thought I had to pull the whole thing out from under the counter, and I was sure glad I didn't have to. Everything checked out right down to the different size screws for the door. E15 is gone and I dodged another service call. Thanks!
Hey, thanks so much for your helpful video! This is my first time having this error code and definitely an annoying but simple fix. I unfortunately only found your video after unscrewing the counter screws and had already pulled the washer out a bit. But fortunately, I learned that by doing this, I was able to access the water sensor without the hassle of removing the door or any of the front panels. The side of the machine under the main compartment is completely open, allowing full access to the elements underneath. I was able to mop up the water and easily reset the sensor. Just thought I’d mention, in case you want to do an update of your video. Made the whole process a lot simpler and I was able to run a short cycle with the washer pulled out and observe if the water problem was fixed or if I needed to replace a leaky hose or cracked water pump (which I thankfully didn’t). Thanks again!
Our Bosch model didn't require us to even take the door off. We were able to stick paper towels in the side carefully to access the float and soak up the water. Thanks for a great video:)
Dude, you saved me having to call a repair guy. thank you! I have a slightly different model, so it wasn't 1to 1, but without this video I would have been screwed. THANK YOU!
That was a really excellent video. One of the best I’ve ever seen on RUclips. I was able to watch it once, and repair my Bosch dishwasher. What I thought was going to be a daunting task was made simple by your video. I’m so happy, that I just needed two bits on my electric drill, the star for almost every screw and the Phillips head for the two black panel screws. I used my Ryobi drill, and set the torque to its lowest possible settings after seeing your warning about potentially over tightening. The only slight bit of difficulty I ran into was putting the door back on. Then I noticed the tabs on top that need to be slotted in first. Thanks so much for your help! I also used a wet vac to clean out my pan. That worked a charm!
Thank you for such a clear and concise video. Fixed my E15 error with minimum fuss, gave everything a good clean and now understand how to prevent it happening again. Regards Simon...North Yorkshire, England
Great video, I had the same problem with water leaking into the pan. Three quick tips that can save others lots of time: 1) In my case it wasn't the door that was leaking; The inlet assembly (clear plastic thing on the left side, you can see the hole where the water comes into the dishwasher on the left inside) has a bypass that drains into the pan under the dishwasher if the incoming water pressure is TOO HIGH. It's an easy fix to just partially close the shutoff valve under your sink , where the hot water to the dishwasher comes from, to limit the incoming water pressure 2) You DO NOT have to disassemble the door and kick plat to get access underneath. You can just pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet (just remove the two mounting screws that attach it to your counter) and lift the insulation out of the way on the left side. 3) Along with grime in the seals, another thing to check is whether the dishwasher is level. The feet are adjustable, so if water is leaking out the door, you can try raising the front up a bit by screwing the feet out.
Found the error message when we go up this morning. It’s 10:50 am now and it’s fixed. Great instructions. Saved me $250 in service call. I did remove the various parts but super easy to put everything back together. Good engineering means parts fit like a glove. This was the first time in 10 years. I’m wondering if and when the problem recurs.
Outstanding video, and does seem to address the problem. However, just watched another video where they simply recommended (per the manufacturer) to tilt the machine to 45 degrees and simply let the water drain out into a towel. This re sets the float switch without taking anything apart.
I "fixed" the problem using your video, but then the E15 came back a couple days later :) Called in the big guns this time. Repair guy came out, and couldn't find source of leak, but it was *almost* worth it because he gave me a shortcut. No need to take off the front of the door as in your video - he just unscrewed 2 screws attaching unit to the cabinet, and slid the whole thing out. Made it super easy to examine the undersides, and run the dishwasher while looking for a leak. Probably water dripping between door and unit during unloading (or loading) dishes. Just wanted to mention the shortcut in case it's helpful.
Helpful video! Something that may make someone's life easier however; I too have an 800 series Bosch. Encountered this same error. It was far easier for me to unscrew the two screws securing it to the cabinet, slide it out and access the float switch from the left side access port. Other than that, all of the other steps were the same. I know some other series do not have the same access and some may not have the ability to easily slide their dishwasher out. For me, it is the way to go. 10 minutes rather than 30.
I NEVER leave comments on anything, but this video was a huge help. Our seals were clean, but I think our issue was a gradual buildup of water overtime due to someone opening the dishwasher while it was already running to grab something out of it. I’m sure breaking that seal let water down below little by little overtime until that float switch engaged. Great video. Thank you!!!
Thank you. Have been battling this for the last 24 hours. I have a custom front panel on mine DW and was loath to remove it. I just slide it out instead and worked from the side to remove the styrofoam disk and mop up the water! Thank you! .
Thx. Great video. Got it working. Good tip on the dish soap. The water trap at the switch was dry, but then opened the dish soap dispenser and it was full. Cleared that out and worked great.
Thank you so much for this video, your explanation, suggestions and how you showed how to do it was perfect! Thank you so much for showing how to do this and fixing this error! I can't imagine how much you just saved our family from having to call somebody! Thank you!
Well cleaning the filter and clearing the pump impeller is for E24/E25, not E15. That one is generally caused by a deformed plastic sump, so time for the silicone ring on top of the black seal. On stainless door there is no issue using acetone or ammoniac or other powerful degreaser. T20 is the offical size according to Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH.
@@rebeccadarrow7204 E15 means there is water catchment in the catchment tray. So unless you had an external flood, something in the machine must have leaked. The door seals as suggested in the video, perhaps. But almost always it is the warped plastic sump, a designflaw. Can be the attached heating circulation pump, as it is shoved onto the sump, but 99/100 it is the sump being warped and no longer making a tight connection with the stainless steel tub.
Its funny how we never notice the crud until it becomes an issue.. I greatly appreciate you producing this video, and in very easy to understand terms, The issue I had was exactly as you described, did the repair and it all works!.. I very big Thank you!.. Nick
Great video, my dishwasher had a recessed handle on it and I couldn’t pull the doo off without taking the electronics bar out on the top. No big deal. I had one wire pop out in the process but I just put it back in. The rest of the video went just like you said, and it worked afterwards which was great. Thanks for the video.
The coverplate on the door just slides down a milimeter or two from behind the electronicshousing with the recessed handle, no need to take of the electronics. See the many other (European) video's. Recessed handles are the norm on the older BSH machines.
Thank you for making this video. This worked For us. Our door was a little different but this fixed the error. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and putting it out there to help others.
Just followed this and fixed mine. My machine is a SVM68MD01G/51 and the door cover is connected to the digital unit at the top of the door. Best to take out bottom screws, leave in top like you say, to be able to remove the lower cover. Also lower cover has a plugged in unit which you need to detach but all relatively straight forward. Cheers from the UK 🎉
Thank you so much for this video. You made the whole task really simple and easy! Definitely thought I was going to have to pay for a call out before I watched this
Brandon - amazing video. The step by step was perfect and fixed the issue. There were only two things I would add: 1. The top screws on both sides needed to be removed to take the door off. Keep the middle ones in place to make sure the control unit is in tact. 2. I couldn't detach the sensor. The plastic was not coming off, tried all kinds of things to remove it, but didn't want to break it. If there are any recommendations on how to remove this "clip", that would be great. Otherwise, love youtube and appreciate your guidance here.
Great video. A couple of notes: When removing the door shell, the bottom rubber seal is removed from behind the black kick plate (seal still attached to the bottom of the door cover) and the black kick plate should be the last item reinstalled so that one can properly position the rubber seal first. When reinstalling the door shell, for me, it was easier to put the door shell on, remove the top four screws so that I can place the door shell without trying to fit / slide it onto the grooves of the control panel. Saved me money and it took less than 30 minutes. Thanks!
Yes, this was the problem. Thank you for the video and explaining it very well! Dried out the little area under the float and put everything back together and have a working dishwasher again.
Thank you! I slid the dishwasher out about 12 inches and the access is on the left..pulled the sensor and float cleaned and back together in seconds...worked on test. Now assuming we figured out the leak in the first place should be fine.
Dang, you're right! This saved me a ton of work. Perhaps this is a new feature (I have 2021 500 series), but it's true that there is absolutely no need to unscrew anything. Otherwise the original video is useful.
For me, removing the door cover and doing the rest this way was actually easier than sliding it out. But I appreciate the comments and options. Great video! I would recommend fast forwarding rather than removing parts of the video. There were some things I would have liked to see, even if quickly.
I was constantly getting E-15 and E-24 dishwasher error messages with our Bosch dishwasher. I went to Sam's Club to buy some store brand pods, but they we're out. I finally figured out what was going wrong. I bought Cascade Pods, and they were causing me havoc. The water wouldn't drain properly. I had to use a turkey baster to remove the water from the filter area. I will stick with Finish, Costco, and Great Value Pods for now on. I will not buy Cascade Pods anymore. Great video by the way.
Many thanks Brandon! That was a great video and worked very well. My door required the 4 screws at the top be taken off as the front door was part of the cupboards. All good with light, S-20 bit, and some colths. Thanks again!
This 62 year old Nonna, at home with Covid and a broken dishwasher, just laid on the floor and fixed her dishwasher, thanks to you!
Awesome to hear! Hope you feel better soon!

Back to seperate salt and cleaning powder/pellet, and the proper salt amount setting, I guess.
Just buy some “Tang” orange drink power and run a half cup of powder through your machine. It will come out sparkling clean.
Yep - my model has the controls integrated in the door, so had to take the top screws out. Also - he should have introduced the German Shepard at the end there.

You are welcome!
Thanks for info on 3 screws in recessed pull area my series 800 is like that too and once removed panel slides down easy for removal of panel 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks. That was the reason why the control panel was stuck on the door cover with the recessed handle.
You're a star! Worked like a champ. My family thinks i'm some type of mechanical genius now
Haha, love it!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!

Thank you Brandon for your clear and helpful video. I am no DIY expert but you made it so straight forward - Thank you very much indeed!
Great job First error in 7 years
Great video, I had the same problem with water leaking into the pan. Three quick tips that can save others lots of time:
1) In my case it wasn't the door that was leaking; The inlet assembly (clear plastic thing on the left side, you can see the hole where the water comes into the dishwasher on the left inside) has a bypass that drains into the pan under the dishwasher if the incoming water pressure is TOO HIGH. It's an easy fix to just partially close the shutoff valve under your sink , where the hot water to the dishwasher comes from, to limit the incoming water pressure
2) You DO NOT have to disassemble the door and kick plat to get access underneath.
Super easy to follow. Thank you. Saved me from calling repairman
Glad it helped
Ahhhhhhh, opening while going. Good point. That explains a lot
Thank you. Have been battling this for the last 24 hours. I have a custom front panel on mine DW and was loath to remove it. I just slide it out instead and worked from the side to remove the styrofoam disk and mop up the water! Thank you! .
Awesome, glad it worked!
You saved me a $150+ service call. Thanks!
very helpful. I cleaned everything as directed and the Bosch is back in business.
Thx. Great video. Got it working. Good tip on the dish soap. The water trap at the switch was dry, but then opened the dish soap dispenser and it was full. Cleared that out and worked great.
Great video Brandon. I managed to sort out the E15 error just following your instructions. $$$ saved 😁 Thanks
Thank you so much for this video, your explanation, suggestions and how you showed how to do it was perfect! Thank you so much for showing how to do this and fixing this error! I can't imagine how much you just saved our family from having to call somebody! Thank you!
You are so welcome!!
This is one of the best instruction videos I have ever seen.
Made fixing this a breeze.
Thank you so much 👍
Well cleaning the filter and clearing the pump impeller is for E24/E25, not E15. That one is generally caused by a deformed plastic sump, so time for the silicone ring on top of the black seal. On stainless door there is no issue using acetone or ammoniac or other powerful degreaser.
T20 is the offical size according to Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH.
Not if you are an older woman. Mine isn’t leaking and is draining beautifully
Thanks so much! This video saved me at least $260 and I was done and back to work I get paid for in less than 30 minutes.
Its funny how we never notice the crud until it becomes an issue.. I greatly appreciate you producing this video, and in very easy to understand terms, The issue I had was exactly as you described, did the repair and it all works!.. I very big Thank you!.. Nick
Many thanks Brandon. You made the repair super easy! All the best.
Great tutorial! You saved the day especially since my warranty expired.
Thank you very much. I have paid $150 per visit x 3 and you just helped me fix it in 10 minutes.
Glad I could help!
Fixed the problem and I reckon saved me a cool grand on a Sunday callout. Thanks mate!
You got it!
Awesome, glad it worked out!
The coverplate on the door just slides down a milimeter or two from behind the electronicshousing with the recessed handle, no need to take of the electronics. See the many other (European) video's. Recessed handles are the norm on the older BSH machines.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this easy to follow video!
Took us an hour and half, but it did the trick. Me thanks you and gawd bless yer' tender heart.
Thank you for taking the time to share this. Very helpful and made the job quick and easy!
Glad to hear!
Thank you for making this video. This worked
For us. Our door was a little different but this fixed the error. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and putting it out there to help others.
You got it!
Excellent work!
Thank you! Fixed within an hour, happy wife - happy life❤😂
Many thanks from Crete! You saved my weekend!
Excellent video thanks Brandon. You gave me the confidence to tackle it myself. Job done in 30 mins
Worked like a CHAMP you saved me so much $$$$$!
Thanks. Could not have fixed mine without this 😊
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for this video. You made the whole task really simple and easy! Definitely thought I was going to have to pay for a call out before I watched this
You’re welcome!
Great job with the video. I had viewed others in the past but yours is the best for this fix!
Glad it helped!
This was great! You have a nice calming voice as well.
Brilliant video. Saved my dishwasher. Many Thanks
It worked! Thank you so much for this detailed step by step.
You got it!
Thank you! Our dishwasher is running again!
Awesome, thanks for making this. I was easily able to fix because of your clear instructions.
Brandon - amazing video. The step by step was perfect and fixed the issue.
There were only two things I would add:
I just used force, nothing seemed to break, and it snapped back in when done, but i was worried the same way you were.
Great video. A couple of notes:
When removing the door shell, the bottom rubber seal is removed from behind the black kick plate (seal still attached to the bottom of the door cover) and the black kick plate should be the last item reinstalled so that one can properly position the rubber seal first.
Thank you! Your the chapter explanation made sense, and it worked for me .
IMPORTANT NOTE: the left side lets you access the underside of the dishwasher directly (pull back the insulation), no unscrewing necessary.
I wish I had read this :(
Wonderful tip, absolutely saved me time taking care of this earlier today. Thank you!
Thanks, this totally worked!
Thanks for the excellent video - I fixed my Thermador in 30/40 minutes with your help - so grateful 😊
Excellent work. #1 advice… use the Finish Tablets .. Bosch dishwashers are made specifically for dish tabs.
saved my life for the second time.thanks
Many thanks Brandon! That was a great video and worked very well. My door required the 4 screws at the top be taken off as the front door was part of the cupboards. All good with light, S-20 bit, and some colths. Thanks again!
Awesome!
Thanks for the fix. Now to figure out where the leak came from in the first place...
Thank you! Worked a treat on my 10yo siemens, too :)
Thank you so much, it was very helpful for our family!
