Hey NL, on the library somewhere on the left of the starting point you can find an empty tome and somewhere on the right you can find a stone mask. Getting these two after having 6 passives lets you get up to 8 passive items.
I just did a library run and king bible say at lvl 8 through 5 chests after spellbinder as my 7th item so i dont know if u can upgrade if u dont take it as 1 of your 6
Getting a three-piece or more chest allows you to break the item limit too. Never got a weapon I didn't have out of one though, so most likely only the passives.

From a community post by them I saw, I believe what they used to program it is kind of janky so they’re having issues with supporting different things people want but are trying.
in the library map, theres always the free level up at the start, and if you head left youll find a book that gives cooldown reduction, going right eventually youll find the masks that give +gold

I've managed to get the grim reaper stuck on a bookcase, after a bit of time of me pummeling him another one spawned from the left and yoinked me. So sadly I dont think you can get him.
I tried with a Laurel and Clock Lancet. When he jumps you, I was immune and froze him. I was able to survive for a minute more freezing both of them, but they eventually took out my shields.
They add an additional reaper every minute, all of which are immortal and due absolutely obscene damage. There's no reward for surviving past 30:00 other than bragging rights
Heaven's Sword (Cross + Clover) is, by far, the best weapon in the game, damage wise. For protection, Unholy Vespers (Bible + Spellbinder) will make you untouchable in the last 5 minutes of a run.
I've gotta say, I love the direction the channel has taken recently, and as an NL fan of 5+ yrs, I'm happy that NL's RUclips and Twitch channels are seeing such speedy growth!
NL you know Bracer doesnt increase attack speed right? It's just shotspeed. And early garlic on early enemies has insane kill speed. Thats why its good. You will not clear this fast with anything else
Garlic is the best early game, but I personally never have any issues in the early game, which is why I don't think the garlic has any value at all. I think the best way to play the game is to try to go for items with a specific build in mind. Build items that evolve while also synergising with other evolved weapons. King Bible is the best item in the game, so help that thing out. That's also why bracer is good. If it makes the king bible move 50% faster, then it's hitting things 50% faster too, which is an insane dps upgrade. Same goes for bracer + bone / runetracer, All of which being very strong late game options (since bone is only for the skeleton dude, who provides +3 projectiles which is really OP)
Garlic is a bad version of king bible and it clutters up your spells. King bible scales with duplicators and projectile speed, whilst garlic has almost no synergies.

as pogged as this game is, i cant help but feel the last 5 minutes of a run completely ruins it for me. if it was just slightly more optimized it would be a 10/10
I picked it up and love it but I agree. It’s slightly ridiculous that the last 5 minutes is just constant rush. There’s really no strategy at that point you just better hope you have enough dps
I wonder if there's a weird reason it's lagging for some, because I've had zero lag even with numbers on. Even with a bitrate destroying build, never had it lag at all
One of my favorite runs has been with king bible and garlic, plus candelabrador, makes a huge area that everything gets pushed out of, and I was able to just shove bosses into corners and bully them
fooled into thinking cross (third or fourth best weapon) is bad because he did a run where he kept it at level 1the whole game and was surprised the dps stats were low. sadge
@@WaterCat5 evo bible and axe does most dps by quite the margin (some 300ish dps) i think the best part about cross it that it sorta acts like evo axe while not needing the evo to pierce so its nice for mid-late before you get evos
@@mao6942 i don't know the numbers exactly, but you may be technically right. I just know whenever I evilve the cross, the damage chart says it does the most dps. I think that's partially because you can aim it, and I have gotten pretty good at using the backswing on it.

S Tier - Garlic, King Bible + Spellbinder, Runetracer, Duplicator, Spinach A Tier - Cross + Clover, Attractorb, Crown, Magic Wand + Empty Tome B Tier - Fire Wand + Spinach, Axe + Candelabrador The rest are pretty much trash. Work on filling most/all slots before leveling up anything too much. You're better off with all the right combos, than having to choose something bad. Garlic falls off mid-game but it is S++ tier as a first/early pickup. Walk towards mobs and kill all which levels you faster. Remember the game gets harder based on time... the faster you level, you get ahead of the power curve.
I actually found the perfect combo, if you get all the weapons its a free win, i start with Mortaccio(you can probably start with whoever but he is too good with +3 projectiles) and get Garlic, King Bible(Evolved),Santa Water,Runetracer,Bone(he starts with it) and Magic Wand(Evolved), you get the 2 passives needed for Evolution of Wand and Bible(Spellbinder and CD Book),then get Projectile Speed, Attractorb, Duplicator and the last passive actually doesn't matter as much, you can either get the Candelabrador for AOE for Santa Water or Spinach for more damage, or Crown early , if you are on Library map you can actually fill all passives then also get the Stone Mask as a extra over the cap of 6. Once you get the King Bible evolved you can literarly stand still and its impossible for enemies to get to you since Garlic reduces the enemy knockback resistance and Santa Water actually throws in a circle around you, so if you have enough projectiles and you stand still the Santa Water creates a large circle around you, making it guaranteed damage. We take Attractorb since once in a while after you afk you can just move as little as possible and just collect every Gem around you. Magic Wand is there just to ensure if any enemy gets past your Santa Water+Garlic+Bible combo they get pushed back since it targets the closest enemy to you.

When you take the Bibble, make sure you go around enemies and groups thereof counter-clockwise; you deal waaaay more damage that way, because the Bibbles hit MUCH more often. Also, the crosses are crazy-good on the library level, especially if you upgrade using the clover. Just trust me on this. Also, a money mask is on the far top-right of the library stage, and an empty tome (upgrades wand) is in the same spot on the far top-left. If you wait to get them until you've filled up all of your secondary slots, they let you bypass the hard limit on secondary items you can collect.
Garlic is probably the best weapon in the game, if you get it early you will be able to just run into whole groups of enemies constantly and powerlevel past the difficulty curve early on and then its just smooth sailing from there.
I love coming back to these videos and looking at all the top comments from 2 years ago, and every single comment in them explaining something is completely wrong. People were clueless but still spoke like they knew how to play the game 😂
Bl just letting you know when you're playing library, you can get EIGHT passive items. On the top side if you keep going left, you'll find an empty time on a stool in the table plus two stools arrangement, and on the top in the far right, you'll find a stone mask on a square tile.
bible+garlic+wand+santa+ spellbinder, you get endless bibles. You can just stand still until death comes and kills you. It definitely needs more content as I maxed out nearly everything after 3-4 runs.
I actually think that the frames dropping are helping him win. By the end, the enemies are almost not moving at all. I think the game is prioritizing handling character movement and the enemies are not even getting processed every frame.
I think it's telling that I'm less surprised about the fact an NL video is on trending than I am that this series is doing better than Super Auto Pets.
@@johnc1752 I'm not really taking upgraded items into account. I think for the most part the upgraded items blow the non-upgraded ones out of the water. Even the whip makes you basically invulnerable by replenishing your health.
Ebony wings is really clutch bc you can combine it with peachone and their fusion just gets better as you upgrade it, thus also giving you a new weapon slot later in the game, allowing you to use more exp effectivly

In Heavy Rain I knew who the killer was from the demo. The guy says he represents the families of the victims to a family member of a victim, and they know nothing.
To be fair, there are hints throughout Detroit that Alice is an android child; there's articles on it. She literally never, ever eats. There's a description about how they'll respond as if they were, how their leds can be removed to make it seem more real.
I think the story would have been better if the child was a human though. Breaking the control because the girl was human would have been much better. Instead, it's just a robot breaking control because worst case sci fi scenario. Ai going out of control.
The problem with shark repellant is that most shark attacks are due to sharks mistaking people on surf boards as seals and there are less than a hundred shark attacks per year world wide, with only around 12 or so deaths per year. Meanwhile, there are around 150 deaths by coconuts per year; making them more than ten times as deadly compared to sharks. Statistically speaking, I would rather have a large and somewhat concaved metal object that I can make a shield out of and hold it over my head when passing through the forest. Like this, you can also carry some amount of water in it from a stream to your campsite or use the edge of it to attack with. I mean, even if you actually catch them disposing of a couch with a camera, they can just start cutting the couches up with a hand saw to throw them away inside of trash bags.
the reason you want garlic early is because you will scale way faster you will wipe entire groups in seconds gaining massive amounts of xp combine it with bible or awakened bible and you are practically untouchable
Garlic on library is litterally free wins every time the enemies are so weak on this level. The only reason its hard is because area is limited, so enemies are weaker to compensate and garlic mows through them
To survive the end boss and collect all the red xp points you have to have defences (eg garlic and shield, I was able to walk away and repel in forest map)
from what i can tell, garlic is something you get and then forget about, as honestly i've used it best when i pretend i dont have it, it acts as a bit of a buffer to the onslaught of enemies

He goes hard into spellbinder when he has nothing that benefits from it, this is the content that gets the pogs flowing.
spellbinder lets you upgrade holy bible, which is by far the best weapon imo
Runetracer benefits from Spellbinder and it’s a pretty good weapon at level 8.
spellbinder for bible upgrade is honestly good enough that it's worth it for that alone. You become a human buzzsaw, it's frickin satisfying.

FYI if you hit ESC while the chest is going it will cancel the animation and you can go faster. Fun little game I hope it keeps getting improvements!

I know NL won’t see this, but spawns are based on time, not amount. If you kill more things early, you get more XP, which is what makes garlic usable

Evolved cross is pretty insane. Its done most dps every time I got it.

Something you might not know about Garlic: it enables you to knock enemies back, which gives you a TON of room, when you get surrounded!

Santa water once you’ve maxed it out is amazing, maybe the best item in the game.

The evolved whip (Bloody Tear) is actually essential to any run. Life steal on this type of game is absolutely OP.

The fact they already patched the game and added in like in game stats to look at when you pause as well as other things is awesome.
I just started playing so I’m not sure if garlic was completely overhauled but as of today imo garlic is a must and one of the best things in the game

I fully maxed a whip for the first time today and I've gotta say it went from a meh tier weapon to a heavy pog tier weapon in my head very quickly
That's how all of them work, just great damage all of a sudden and it fits the game style very well

To be fair, there are hints throughout Detroit that Alice is an android child; there's articles on it. She literally never, ever eats. There's a description about how they'll respond as if they were, how their leds can be removed to make it seem more real.
I think the story would have been better if the child was a human though. Breaking the control because the girl was human would have been much better. Instead, it's just a robot breaking control because worst case sci fi scenario. Ai going out of control.

The problem with shark repellant is that most shark attacks are due to sharks mistaking people on surf boards as seals and there are less than a hundred shark attacks per year world wide, with only around 12 or so deaths per year. Meanwhile, there are around 150 deaths by coconuts per year; making them more than ten times as deadly compared to sharks. Statistically speaking, I would rather have a large and somewhat concaved metal object that I can make a shield out of and hold it over my head when passing through the forest. Like this, you can also carry some amount of water in it from a stream to your campsite or use the edge of it to attack with.
I mean, even if you actually catch them disposing of a couch with a camera, they can just start cutting the couches up with a hand saw to throw them away inside of trash bags.

the reason you want garlic early is because you will scale way faster you will wipe entire groups in seconds gaining massive amounts of xp combine it with bible or awakened bible and you are practically untouchable

Garlic on library is litterally free wins every time the enemies are so weak on this level. The only reason its hard is because area is limited, so enemies are weaker to compensate and garlic mows through them

To survive the end boss and collect all the red xp points you have to have defences (eg garlic and shield, I was able to walk away and repel in forest map)
from what i can tell, garlic is something you get and then forget about, as honestly i've used it best when i pretend i dont have it, it acts as a bit of a buffer to the onslaught of enemies

The garbage service is probably part of the garbage men strike. By the end of the run, whip was useless.
If you get the time stopper you can freeze the reaper but he's invincible. And it's sends another so you have to fend off two.

I was able to grab a stopwatch at the end of a run and ended up living 11 extra seconds...I could not kill death. Btw, I cannot stop playing this game. Best $3 I have ever spent in my life!
