Billy Sou yeah, the GS is probably getting axed in another year or two. It only sold a little over 3000 in the US in 2019. The ES F-sport is just another nail in the coffin
@@sikh7563 What are you talking about? There is plenty. Very unsecure handling during strong acceleration. So much torque steer. The ES rides on the Avalon platform. I literally drove the new Avalon the other day. You can see the video on my channel.
Dima K I owned it for 4 months and drive 10k miles within that period. There’s was literally no wheel hop. Maybe you had bad tires. Only tire screech under full acceleration as expected. They might share the platform but Lexus has stubble changes. Which made it a lot better than the Avalon
@@sikh7563 The new Avalon and ES use the same platform. What kind of bad tires are you talking about on a 2020?😂 There is no way you aren't having torque steer and wheelhop on a 300+ fwd car. Plain physics.
Dima K I’m saying you probably had bad tires to have that much torque steer and wheel hop. Because I’m telling you there was no wheel hop at all. And interior wise the Lexus is a lot better with parts used. I never said the platform was different.
Good value for the car. The engine is tuned very differently than the Camry and significantly higher quality materials inside. Matt Farah has a video showing how he likes this ES much more so than the current LS.
Nice review! I just can't get past the vacuum looking huge grill on Lexus. I hope in the future Lexus changes their grills to something better looking.
Come on dude. You’re comparing a regular sedan to a luxury sedan. If you have the money definitely get the Lexus it has more features, it’s luxurious, and going to be way more reliable than the Maxima. Ever since Nissan merged with Renault their quality has gone way down!
No it's not. Even a loaded Camry does not compare to the interior quality of the es. It's worlds different and I can argue it's completely worth it to get the es a few years vs getting a new Camry.
Same 3.5 liter displacement, but not the same engine. Lexus uses a different engine block casting method as well as different crankshaft, cam & valves, for even greater durability.
This car never was meant to be build for performance aspects! Lexus did outstanding job with this model, excellent ride quality and build quality which will last very long time.
The GS is all but dead at this point. The Toyota Crown, its Asia-only chassis-mate, got a new generation 2 years ago, and the IS is finally getting a new generation in a year or two. Meanwhile nothing about a new GS since there was a test mule on the Nürburgring in 2017, and with it already being discontinued in Europe and having sales slow to about 3000 for the whole year of 2019...I don’t see it living much longer. It’s a shame, because the GS has always been my favorite of the Lexus sedans, and I finally picked up an older one a couple weeks ago.
@@interstate366 If Lexus has updated the tech and features, the GS may sell better. Too bad if Lexus discontinues it. I purchased a CPO 2016 GS though. CPO GS F-sport and non F-sport sells well in our area.
FUGLY front end! I still have my 08 GS and 2012 RX... both in great condition and EVERYTHING still works perfectly on both. Reliability is second to none but these newer models with these monster grills are hideous!
KM Zoilus I agree to a certain extent the f sport looks the best... I’m actually getting a 2010 ES which shares same engine as the 2012 RX.. would love one of these newer 2019 ES in a couple years the technology is amazing
Just sad... I'd rather pay 4 the CAMRY vs the higher priced variant. Lexus (Toyota) doesn't know how 2 take performance sedans to the next level. An F badge isn't gonna make it a performer, just more EXPENSIVE
The F-Sport is an appearance/suspension package. That's it. Doesn't mean the vehicle is anymore powerful, the transmission is also slightly tuned sportier.
Toyota’s “near” equivalent is the Avalon. Not the Camry. It does outperform both the Avalon & Camry. Granted, not by much, but it’s not as “raw” as either one.
Cyril Matthew the GS is kind of the RWD version of this, but it’s been left on the vine too long and sales are practically nonexistent anymore. They only sold about 3000 GS’s in the US in 2019.
So an Avalon with an equally ugly front end and a crazy jacked up price. Fwd is not luxury. Further at lease offer a LSD or awd given the powerless and how horrible Toyota cuts power to manage the wheels. Worlds worst user interface as well here.
mitchlu every car is getting heavier because of all the modern refinement, so that little power bump will only serve to take the edge off that weight gain. To be fair most people don’t care about driving fast, and they’ll gladly trade it for anything.
its unusually slow as my brothers 2007 es350 get from 0-60 at around 6.2 but pretty reliable cars though. m5 are a tsar bomb waiting to be detonated lol but fast cars indeed.
Another boof ass car from Lexus with a boof ass expensive appearance package and FWD some of these companies need to just give up making cars or all the people who buy them get shipped to Mars
Lexus vehicles are made incredibly well. Amazing from day 1 and 10 years later as well.
I have a black 2019. Beautiful car. Zero issues going on 50K. Sometimes I'm surpised how fast it really is.
My 19 ES350 is our 6th Lexus. I’ve had two LS’. This ES is great; feels quick and stable but still comfortable.
ES actually stands for Executive Sedan.
Turned the ES from a Wallflower to a Private Dancer. The last few years since 2012, they have made it more attractive.
This sedan needs an AWD option.
Agree, but Lexus will say, “Want AWD in your Lexus sedan? Get a GS.” However, the GS is getting long In the tooth.
An AWD Hybrid is coming probably in 2022.
Its cousin the CAMRY has awd now. But its only offered with the 2.5😞
Billy Sou yeah, the GS is probably getting axed in another year or two. It only sold a little over 3000 in the US in 2019. The ES F-sport is just another nail in the coffin
Who tf would pick awd vs the fun rwd. Oh wait i live in Florida. No snow :) fun drive time all year long
I am not the fan of the front end. Having 301hp, this car needs AWD. So much power on the FWD will give plenty of torque steer and wheel hop.
There’s no torque steer or wheel hop. Wheel spin? yes. But the system does a good job to negate that

That silver looks good on this, especially with the F-Sport.
Looks amazing in white with the red leather interior
Needs the upcoming AWD option, which should hit for 2021

Only for the 4 cyl

I really like the styling of this Lexus, but the loaded Camry XSE is virtually the same car for $10k less, and includes a panoramic sunroof.
orlandocfi The Lexus ES is based on the Avalon now, but yeah I prefer my Camry XSE.
