Wow it looks like they are actually listening and responding. I own a 2017 LS460, and looked at the LS500 recently, the V6 is a bit laggy, the interior is cramped, the back seat has minimal leg room the seats are over bolstered. They lost their way. This G90 is what a luxury sedan should be, it’s not a sports car.
I do think think the ls500 is faster or around the same. But yes they did try to bolster the seats....so it's like they were trying to make a massive luxury sport
Genesis quit trying to compete with Mercedes Benz and started going after Bentley. Before the new G-Matrix grill redesign, they made a special edition G90 with two-tone paint to make it look like a Bentley or Rolls Royce, and that was pretty nice.
I like the headlamps. I'm indifferent about the rest of the exterior, though it does have presence. Pedestal mirrors make a huge difference! The interior looks like a nice place to spend time.
You folks would get better fuel mileage if you watched your lead foot and used the cruise control as much as possible. I averaged over 30 mpg highway (round trip) with a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria on road trips..
Before you consider buying any Genesis, beware. Great car, bad service. There are little to no Genesis dealer service locations. You get in line with all the Hyundai vehicles when you need service. So feel free to buy the car, but just know, you'll be frustrated when the car needs to go in for service.
Like how the engineers went with bright red trim and an left the bay opened up, as opposed to the recent luxury vehicle tendency to have the engine bay completely paneled up
It looks a lot like a Maybach to me. I like the way it looks, but I think Hyundai/Genesis needs to start coming up with 100% original designs if they ever want to be a leader in the luxury automobile industry. The best of the best are copied, rarely copiers.
Amari Look at the roofline and rear end especially. Compare it to the Maybach 62, then report back. Also the massive, angular grille is reminiscent of the Maybach’s. It is clear there are many differences, but to say it looks nothing like any of the Maybach’s is inaccurate.

It sounds like they were having issues with the car launching so they didn't want to use inconsistent botched time results. Maybe due to the traction control cutting power so much on that awful track they use there.

Love the narration. On a second note, The Genesis is not selling well at all. Cars.com and other car listing sites, have a ton of these on their site. Even unsold 2018s and 2019s. BMW has priced their cars very close to Genesis with incentives like discounts and cash back. If the G90 was in the high 50s - low 60s, it would sell much better.
The price has nothing to do with it. The issue is Genesis doesn’t advertise their cars well and they don’t have an exclusive dealer network. At the end of the day it’s a luxury car why should it be priced wayyyy under a 7 series because it’s not a BMW?? That’s an ignorant comment.

This car actually indirectly goes head to head with the Volvo S90. Just like the GV80 is priced against the XC90. Both are luxury and priced better. Also the A8L, Maserati Quattroporte, Cadillac CT6 and BMW 7 Series These brands have long histories in engineering and racing heritage. Decades of competition and championships. So Genesis has a ways to go. Learn what luxury is before you give your opinion on it.

Wow, it's 30k USD less than a base Mercedes-Benz S560. It's nicely equipped but there is something about the exterior design that is not to my liking. I'm old enough to remember when Lexus and Infiniti were upstart brands with pretentious intentions. Decades later, no one would put a Lexus LS on the same level as a S Class, 7 Series or even A8. They are on the rank, along with the once venerable XJ...just below the aforementioned luxury vehicles. I wonder how long will take before Genesis gives the legacy luxo-sedans a true competitor. I'll follow the sales numbers because that will be an indication of how well the G90 is received by the large luxury sedan market.
Nice car but there is a limit to how big a grill can be before it ruins everything. It looks cartoony here and is a bit of a deal breaker for me. Sadly many other manufacturers are doing the same. I think they will eventually settle on a smaller grill much like cell phones stopped getting much bigger there are limits to everything.

When Genesis name branched off on its own and the G90 came out, it was really the replacement for the Hyundai Equus.

Same problem on my 2014 Lexus ES, fhe over bolstered seats make my hips sore after a couple hours of driving.
