It's not really a "$75,000 Hyundai", as you said - it's a $75,000 Genesis. Unless you always call a Lexus a Toyota...or an Infiniti a Nissan...or an Audi a VW. MSRP for the G90 in the US starts at $68,350...so there's only about $7k from base model to fully optioned. Looked at the options prices from MB or Lexus lately? Frankly, if one ignores the snob value of nameplates and badges (which aren't really indicative of quality any more)...it seems to be a pretty good deal, especially if they continue with their traditional 10 year warranty.
Or unless you call an Acura Integra a Honda Integra... Oh wait... As he said, these brands are literally made by the same manufacturer. Who would buy a Lexus if they weren't made by Toyota? One important outlier though is Audi, which was bought by VW.
Oh wow! You are the first Genesis fanboy ever! Congratulations, you are starting a powerful keyboard clan. Maybe some day your clan will declare a war on the BMW Fanboy Empire. Sky is the limit!
aussiebloke609 you don’t buy a Lexus at a Toyota dealer or and Acura at a honda dealer. This you can buy right along it’s cheap counterparts. Call it what you want but you aint fooling anybody lol it’s a Hyundai

I think you just wanted to be negative about Genesis from the beginning. What's wrong with $75000 Hyundai? Yeah... Lexus is $75000 Toyota, Acura is $75000 Honda, Infiniti is $75000 Nissan, Audi is $75000 Volkswagen and Cadilac, Lincoln....etc.

Hyundai makes the best looking cars now. They're breaking away from the cost-cutter label they've been slapped with and decided to do all their luxury cars under a separate badge ... like Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus. They offer the most for the money. If I get rid of my old Acura TL Type S, I'd go with a Genesis
Yo I'm new into cars , Can ya tell me the top luxury auto brands , I know bmw & audi , & Benz the basic , but I'm trying pick a fitting for me I also know Lexus, let me know I like popping trends I know for sure there some good luxury that aren't popular
Hyundai today makes great cars, the problem is us we should uptade our minds and accept the Reality, i know it's hard but for sure the new generation will be proud of owning one, the old generation used to make fun of Toyota and Honda, now they are the best selling cars in America!
This car is well worth $75k. A really good buy if you're in the market. In a couple of years when you can buy a used one for $30k, it'll be the ultimate uber or lyft car
To me it's the acura RLX I just bought, overpriced as a new car, well underpriced a used one. A new model was tailing me just an hour ago and I said to myself; you bought this new? God you're stupid! How can you be this stupid and still afford this, this is the ultimate proof that life is unfair!
Um hes given very similar cars with similar cargo space higher scores. I mean he even gave the Kia Stinger a 7 and to my knowledge they are near copies of each other as far as cargo space goes, plus they're both v6 twin turbos....actually....way more identical than I previously thought. Hes just a little inconsistent sometimes.
In January I received my G90 5.0 . I also received my S560 which I had previously configured and ordered. I disclose that since 1969 I have driven Mercedes from C to S Class. Except for one year that I wanted to try a Bentley and fell in love with an Arnage in the dealers showroom. That Arnage lasted less than two years as I hated the drive and the uncomfortable seats in the front. I happen to be 6'1" and My seat was pushed all the way back and lowered to maximum. I went back to the S550 until the end of 2017. By pure chance, an acquaintance traded his S550 for a G90 in December. He raved about the car as the best he ever drove. He took me for a spin and I was truly mesmerized. My S560 on order had cost me $137K as I like my cars with all the bells and whistles. This car had it all and more. Everything you saw in this clip plus Media screens for the back passengers. Reclining rear seats controlled for AC or heat. The car drives like a charm, featured different comfort levels from soft to race mode. The V8 is extremely powerful - more power than really needed. All this at half the cost of a new S560 with similar features and drive. The Genesis is as long as the S560 and somehow the rear passengers seem to have more space. I love this car and for the money - I am a long term customer. If you are materialistic and on an ego for brand, sorry to tell you you are missing out.

I am in the car business and it is so funny to me how half of people love Hyundais and continue to buy them and the other half of customers call them junk. From what I seen, the Korean vehicles 2009 and newer last a hell of alot longer than any German brand. Plus every Hyundai or Kia vehicle are always in the top 5 most dependable or reliable brands in alot of the publications. Just seems like some people don't want to give Japanese or Koreans credit for making a good product.
Yeah those are good cars back in 2007 this girl i know bought a old Ford Probe gave me her old piece of crap 1992 hyunde excel that little fuel injected 1.8 litre had a bunch of power I beat the shit out of that car for months and never had a problem and never broke down and still got $500 after I sold it! Saw the car 2 years later dude was still driving it I asked him if he's done any work to it he said he hasn't touched it and he drives it from Washington to California all the time! I laugh at people that say hyunde sucks! Lol!
japanese are always given good credit for making good cars what kind of weed are you smoking? the koreans on the other hand are not because its usually meant for people who are too cheap to buy a japanese rival.
If you knew what EXCEL used to do to Owners in late 80,s you would not even talk about them, let,s just say you got Lucky, matter of fact Hyundai almost went Bankrupt in the US because of Excel which was the model they imported at that time.
Update : You can buy a very nice 2017 G90 today for $35,000. A new Rolls Royce that looks very similar will cost you TEN TIMES that price! The perfect car for the bargain hunter.
I would buy either the G90 or the Lexus LS. And I have experienced the SClass as my dad owns a 2013 model and the price and the value is what makes the G90 appeal to me.
heyJustephan Audi is the only reliable one amongst the German brands, with Mercedes being decently reliable Korea has now come a far way in terms of reliability now, especially offering that 10 year warranty now
heyJustephan we literally own a 2016 Audi and a 2016 Mercedes, along with 2 other Japanese cars. Haven’t had a problem with either German car, but it’s very clear as day light that the Japanese lead in reliability with Korea starting to make their way up especially since many key head people from BMW and Audi have been working for Genesis now

Genesis became a brand because the primary reason people buy luxury cars is for status, something that cant be had with a Hyundai badge. Its kind of sad that people behave like that.
Totally true. I’ve driven Benzes and BMWs and to this day can’t think of why people love them so much other than the badge it has. They aren’t smooth, their interiors are crap with flimsy buttons and map lights missing lenses, they are unreliable, cost a fortune to maintain, are specifically engineered to make repairing them impossible forcing you to take it to them, and most of them don’t even have leather. They use MB tex or leatherette. I’ve started referring to these cars as disposable as you never hold onto one past its warranty period. I’d rather get a Lexus for reliability or a Lincoln for creature comforts.
I don't find Top Gear to be nearly as relaxing as Doug's content. It's a great show obviously, I just don't enjoy the big-budget action/comedy aspect of it.
I've had a Benz S550, a BMW 5series and and now have a 2018 G90 and I wouldn't trade it for any of the others. If Benz, BMW and Audi are such great cars, how come they only back them for 3 years instead of the 10 that Hyundai gives?? My Genesis has more standard options than all of them and the car is 50K less. Take all your high over priced cars and your status symbols and shove it. You can't beat the Genesis PERIOD!
Alpha Omega for real! I got an 08 750li and i would gladly trade for this Genesis! This car has so much practical options instead of thousands of useless gimmicks that you see in BMWs and Benzes...plus they're built to last and not gonna depreciate to the price of Ford Fiesta in the next 5 years.
+Alpha Omega It's even worse here in Europe! The minimum required warranty period, as defined by the EU, is 2 years and that's exactly what the German car companies apply! And since Genesis cars aren't imported in the EU, anyone looking for a luxury car has got no other choice! Also, many people here are badge snobs, even if they can't afford these cars! So you see them rolling in basic BMWs, with little to no optional extras, even without alloy wheels!
As it relates to cars, name brands don't mean a damn thing anymore. I remember in the 90s both Hyundai and Kia were some of the worst brands anyone could buy. But now they're some of the most reliable (and stylish) brands on the market. Meanwhile brands like Nissan have actually deteriorated in reliability.
I know Doug could be harsh when reviewing but this car deserves no hate when it comes to it's sound system. I have a Genesis and my god is the surround sound system just amazing. If you have not experienced it, it is well worth going to a showroom just to test it out.
This was a very long vid but you went way in depth on the features. Which leads me to the pan, WTF did you give it only a 5 in practicality? Even the Stinger GT got a 7. Is that fold down pass thru really worth 2 points? I think you just didn't want to give a "40" to a Hyundai.
1dariansdad Stinger is a hatchback, technically, so that helps a bit... But I'm with you here, especially considering the fuel economy difference between the two is pretty slim
Its definitely not that great of a car. But its a better value than MBenz, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Acura, Infinity, and Cadillac. And don't get me started on Jaguar.
My son-in-law bought a new Hyundai several years ago. I sort of snickered about it at the time, however, he has close to a hundred thousand miles on it now and has had literally nothing go wrong with it. He does the proper scheduled maintenance and nothing more. He's a fairly aggressive driver and does not baby the car. The car's interior looks like the day he bought it. None of the interior materials are falling apart or wearing out. Same with the outside of the car. The paint still looks like new and none of the trim is falling off or fading. This car lives in the California desert and is never parked in the garage. Also, his gas mileage hasn't diminished at all. Needless to say, I've been impressed with the car, especially for the price.
I would say it's a FAIR score. Not harsh particularly. My neighbour has one and my god G90 looks GORGEOUS. But the curves and lines still leave you want more. See a merc or a Beemer and have a look at it side by side with Genesis. You will see.
I want a cooled steering wheel....sometimes after parking in the sun, the steering wheel becomes somewhat rather unpleasantly warm....and thus a cooled wheel would give relief to my fingers.
King Miura, I would recomend investing about 7 dollars for a windshield shade at your local automotive supply store. Keeps the steering wheel cool and saves your dash board from cracking.
Doug the passenger window switch is twice as large as the drivers side because this car is also made for the Korean and other markets where the vehicles are RHD. Rather than make a new piece of trim for the passenger door Hyundai probably figured it'd be easier or cheaper to have a larger switch installed so that trim that holds it in can be used for all markets!
Possibly, but probably not. The driver's door has three rowsa of switches, so it would need a different trim piece regardless. However, the two switches in the top row means that a smaller window switch would look out of place, so rather than mount the switch off-center and have a blank spot next to it, or center it and have a blank spot on either side, the made the switch the full width of the opening.

He asks why someone would want to change color of HUD from white, with snow in the foreground, or why people of different heights would want to be able to move the adjust where the HUD is at on windshield.
I hate that Doug starts out with complaints that a company launched three cars instead of all SUVs. There are so many of us that are sick of everything going to crossover or SUVs. Long live the sports sedan!
Doug you're a crack up. After watching this video it reminded me of your Stinger GT video, and thought I'd share a few things with you about Hyundai and Kia if you didn't already know. - In the Stinger, you were impressed that the lane change feature can be adjusted to signal either 3, 5, or 7 times. Hyundai Kia has had that available for a few years now. My 2015 Sonata Sport 2.0T Limited and my ex's 2016 Kia Forte5 EX has it. Both are equipped with technology packages of course so they have that center display. Now for this video on the G90, let me share a few things that are in it that my Sonata has as well. - The on/off tone in mine sounds almost exactly as the G90, just at a slightly higher tone. - The car also appears and disappears in the center display on startup and shutdown. - I can adjust the maintenance interval in the instrument cluster as well, setting how many months and miles I want to be reminded at. - I can also show my latitude and longitude on the GPS information screen and select a destination by latitude and longitude. - Another thing that I would not be surprised the G90 does (you didn't mention it) that my Sonata does, is adjust the blower speed for more things than just the climate control being set on automatic. Two examples: 1 - If the blower motor is running at a higher speed due to wherever I have the temperature set and a call comes in, the blower speed will reduce before I answer the phone. It will also lower the speed if I activate the voice command button. 2 - if for whatever reason I have the climate control on with the roof open and decided to close it, the blower speed will also lower until the roof is closed, then readjust. They've come a long way. The G90 is still more than I'd spend for a vehicle. My next car will either be a G80 Sport or a Stinger GT2.
ed hogan and in Europe at least, you have tunnels where you have to pay to go through. Perfectly fine to avoid tunnels if I really feel to not pay the tunnel even when I have the money (in case you own this car)
I have been a fan of Hyundai's since 2001, never been let down, turn the key, your Goin where ever you want period. I have gone through, Benz's ,bimmers, jags, hondas, none of them can compare when it comes to turn the key and go. 87 octane change your oil and keep driving. I enjoy my European cars but when it's time to go to work I drive Hyundai's because I know I will have no issues it's like 1990's Toyota trucks!!! They just run day after day year after year. I will be buying a Genesis next

ruststar she pulls strong. Top speed is limited to 167 I believe so it’s gonna feel happy over 60. How do you like the k900 we’ve been wanting to take a look at one of those.. interesting car
I love my K900 it is so comfortable, very very little road noise, although a big boat, it does corner really well and passing speed on the highway is incredible, 65 to 80 right now, the V8 420 hp is smooth but pretty thirsty for premium. I did 135mph with my wife reading her book and she had no idea I am gonna miss my K900😪
I recently bought a Equus for $10k, which was this car’s predecessor. So far I’ve been absolutely blown away at the amount of car you get for the money.
@@Jdp313 Not yet, had a few little issues here and there but nothing major enough to make me sell it or cause me to break the bank. One major point of concern is the air suspension, it's known to fail and I don't have any records from the previous owner so I don't know if it's been serviced before in the past. So on that note I'm just crossing my fingers.
They name the colours because people can sue them if the colour isn’t actual “blue” They call it sunrise red because no one can sue them for it not being sunrise red. Because it ain’t a real colour. The lights don’t portray accurate colours, and some people have the time to measure the colour gamma. Genesis doesn’t want to risk it. It’s the same reason phone, car, and other tech manufacturers have different names for colours. Also, some colours are copyrighted.
This comment made me laugh: Colors on their own aren't protected by copyright. An arrangement of colors, say a painting, is protected by copyright provided the author expends skill, judgment and effort in its creation. The law is pretty universal in almost every country under the Berne Convention. Now you can Trademark different combinations of color. Trademarking a color simply allows a company to use a particular combination and shade of color in its own industry. I think you just don't understand the difference between Copyright and Trademark maybe. But I doubt suing for either for colors in the interior of a car would go anywhere.
The people who still have something to prove to their shallow peers and still care what others think will still buy the S class. Smart money buys this though. 90% of the car for 60% of the price. If you're not a poser, you'd get this.
TheHvk Some people wants the S because it offers a lot more and they like the styling/looks more. I met someone who owns/runs a Hyundai/Genesis dealership, he leases the 2018 S63. G90 will never compete with that. He also loves pano roofs where the G90 lacks.
Smart money buying Hyundai over Merc? Yeah fucking right. There’s nothing poser about buying an S-Class. It’s the benchmark. Besides, the real smart money wouldn’t buy a new genesis. Smart money would spend less and get a superior used S-Class. Dummy.
If the Genesis G90 was a Hyundai, it would be called the Hyundai Equus. But it’s not, it’s called a Genesis G90 for a reason, because it’s a Genesis. The Hyundai Equus was rebranded as a Genesis for a reason. To be a luxury vehicle. If people keep referring Genesis vehicles as just Hyundai vehicles, the general public most likely will not view Genesis the way it is intended to be viewed, a luxury brand. Yes, Genesis is a branch of Hyundai, but it’s the luxury branch. So, at the end of the day, the vehicle shown in the video is a Genesis vehicle, not a Hyundai.
Wassha 09 Yup! Mental Note tho.. remember it’s still a Hyundai as Infiniti is Nissan, Lexus is Toyota, Audi is VW, Acura is Honda... and so on of the major everyday consumer car market offering a luxury experience in it’s high price profiles. At the end of the day.. I’d purchase any Hyundai b4 any Kia!!
Wassha 09 I watched a video of somebody that had that same 🏎 you are talking about an he said it was more fully loaded an better than his Bentley imagine that
I have been in and shortly driven a G80 and WOW is in a nice car, I was rather impressed. I actually like Hyundai's products and this takes it up 5 notches or more. Like someone said below it is a Genesis car, not too many people say that Lexus is a rebadged Toyota, Infiniti a Nissan, Audi a VW, a Cadillac a Chevy etc... WoW what a plush and AMAZING car, if I had 75k and wanted another car instead of a truck which I need, this would be a great option. Your reviews are always hilarious and sarcastic. I do however agree that they NEED to bring out some Luxury and Sporty Crossovers and bring the same value, performance and comfort that their sedan lineup provides.
I would love this car but I hope they make a mid size sport version later on because I like to feel that tightness when I turn corners and not just the weight of the car.
Crafty Coin they make the G70 now. Which just won car of the year. First car not named BMW to knock the 3 series down from its perch. Yep. Genesis is about to light up the game.
My Verloster Turbo has some of the clusters features.. like the start up and shut off music , The Surround sound , miles to set for service , Turbo 2016
elesjuan No, it's not. It's a Genesis. Just like Lexus is a Lexus and Acura is a Acura. No one would buy a Lexus if it is just a Toyota. Also, Kia, Genesis, and Hyundai are part of Hyundai Motor Group. So, a Kia is a Kia, a Genesis is a Genesis, and a Hyundai is a Hyundai.
Except that Acuras are Hondas in much of the world, just as Datsuns were really Nissans. So the important question is: is the G90 sold as a Hyundai in other parts of the world?
Despite what this guy says.....I think this is a beautiful, classy car that is an awesome value. I love the interior and actually like the conservative exterior.
TheGhostofMarley I hope you're joking but if you are not, people in hotter climates NEED to water their grass. In Dallas, Texas, we need to water our grass at least once a week.
I think its a reference to the fact that in the opening shot there is water from a sprinkler randomly falling from the sky, he set up the camera on the lawn and didn't even bother to turn the sprinkler off...
DM Diamond I think he should get rid of the Doug score it was an overall good review and he liked the car but it ends up having a low score? Doesn’t make much sense
These Doug scores fail when you try to equate with cars that are 12-20 years old! Also the enthusiasm, ( pretty cool etc) does not hold up because he next makes reference that a Ford Fusion has more content than a older $100k + car! Geez, duh! Back to the drawing board Doug please!
DM Diamond Lmao for reals like wtf is a 10/10, an suv that handles like a koenigsegg and has the luxuriousness of a Bentley, lol I feel like that would still get a 8/10
9:53 The window switch is double-wide so that Genesis doesn't have to use a different door panel on RHD models, they just switch out the window switches.
I love Genesis (I have a g80 sport) but my only problem is the depreciation is horrible. Look at the price of used Genesis compared to the original MSRP
N. HEARD All luxury cars are like that, though, so it's really just something you should expect going in. Cars are depreciating assets and should always be considered that way when buying (aside historically collectable models anyway).
I've owned 5 Genesis/Hyundais in the past 9 years and after getting my third I learned to buy CPO instead of new. I got my g80 sport for 37 with less than 3,500 miles on the odometer it had msrp of 58.
If I was to buy a full-size luxury sedan, I would buy either this one (the Genesis G90) or the Cadillac CT6. I like Mercedes-Benz too, however for full-size luxury sedans, I like the styling of both the G90 and the CT6 more than the S-Class.
Say what will about the launch of the Genesis brand, what Hyundai didn't get wrong was the craftmenship or reliability. Both JD Power AND Consumer Reports lists Genesis as the #1 brand in both initial quality and reliability. That's right, Genesis took the crown from both for 2018... "Genesis, Kia and Hyundai Are Three Highest-Ranked Brands" "Genesis ranks highest in overall initial quality with a score of 68 PP100. Kia (72 PP100) ranks second and Hyundai (74 PP100) ranks third. It's not really a "$75,000 Hyundai", as you said - it's a $75,000 Genesis. Unless you always call a Lexus a Toyota...or an Infiniti a Nissan...or an Audi a VW.

To me it's the acura RLX I just bought, overpriced as a new car, well underpriced a used one. A new model was tailing me just an hour ago and I said to myself; you bought this new? God you're stupid! How can you be this stupid and still afford this, this is the ultimate proof that life is unfair!
Why is practicality 5? Shouldn’t it be like 8? It’s a four door sedan with a reasonable amount of horsepower...
Um hes given very similar cars with similar cargo space higher scores. I mean he even gave the Kia Stinger a 7 and to my knowledge they are near copies of each other as far as cargo space goes, plus they're both v6 twin turbos....actually....way more identical than I previously thought. Hes just a little inconsistent sometimes.

the rear console goes up, so it does seat 3 actually
It´s because it´s a Genesis.
It's 75 thousand dollars and it's a Hyundai. Thats why

Genesis became a brand because the primary reason people buy luxury cars is for status, something that cant be had with a Hyundai badge. Its kind of sad that people behave like that.
TheAdditionalPylons I think Genesis primary market is Korea where everyone drives Korean cars
True, but the Genesis name change wouldn't be needed for that market.
Agreed with you. So only possible Market left is USA where German cars are genuinely rivaled by Japanese brands like Lexus, Infinity or Acura
No it's not. Hyundai has earned it's poor reputation that people don't want to associate with.
Am I the only one who got into watching car reviews because of Doug?
I don't find Top Gear to be nearly as relaxing as Doug's content. It's a great show obviously, I just don't enjoy the big-budget action/comedy aspect of it.
My bad bro! I never realised it actually dates back to 1977. I should look into it a bit more, thanks for that.

Alpha Omega I was curious about what former luxury 🚗 owners would say about owning one. I might have to test drive one
Alpha Omega because you spent $75,000 on a car built for only $12,000 worth of parts and labor.
I hear the exact same thoughts from the prevrious benz or bmw owners. No jokes. I want to drive g90 too !

Korean cars in Korea arent RHD, theyre LHD just like the States

Two examples:
1 - If the blower motor is running at a higher speed due to wherever I have the temperature set and a call comes in, the blower speed will reduce before I answer the phone. It will also lower the speed if I activate the voice command button.
2 - if for whatever reason I have the climate control on with the roof open and decided to close it, the blower speed will also lower until the roof is closed, then readjust.
They've come a long way. The G90 is still more than I'd spend for a vehicle. My next car will either be a G80 Sport or a Stinger GT2.
as a 15 2.0t ultimate sonata owner myself : ) I vote g70 for our next rides!! : )
And I thought I had free time

They name the colours because people can sue them if the colour isn’t actual “blue”
They call it sunrise red because no one can sue them for it not being sunrise red.
That’s interesting. Didn’t know that was a thing.
How do you copyright a color?
Colours can be copyrighted? The fuck?
This comment made me laugh:
Colors on their own aren't protected by copyright.
Dustin ... colors can be copyrighted... for example “Ferrari red”

Dummy.
If you're not a poser you would probably get a camry.

You're a moron. Hyundai Kia and Genesis are all the same.
Your point is valid.
Wassha 09 I watched a video of somebody that had that same 🏎 you are talking about an he said it was more fully loaded an better than his Bentley imagine that
jayjaylen75 lol I was just saying the same thing to myself lol Kia stinger g70 same company made both
5:37 I feel dirty
Li
Anon1993 omg I just got the meaning of that
I don't get it plz help 😂
Anon1993 lmao
;)
Forrest Earnest I also have drove a g80 several times and it truly is an excellent car
I would love this car but I hope they make a mid size sport version later on because I like to feel that tightness when I turn corners and not just the weight of the car.
They have 2 coming plus a sports car
Crafty Coin they make the G70 now.
Which just won car of the year.
First car not named BMW to knock the 3 series down from its perch.
Yep. Genesis is about to light up the game.
Still would like Doug to do a review of a Lexus LS... LS460/L or even the brand new LS500.
Dave Evans Yea the rear view camera mounted inside rear view mirror will be Dougs favorite feature of that car
My Verloster Turbo has some of the clusters features.. like the start up and shut off music , The Surround sound , miles to set for service , Turbo 2016
Doug is the type of guy to not remove a label because it told him to remove it
Gotta keep that label on there! The label is boss!
Loser with "partial LED" lights checking in.
I know how you feel, 2018 Accord driver here. I think I'll weep to myself next time my car drives itself along rush-hour freeway traffic.
partial led virgin vs. full led chad
Jonathan Gardyn partial led virgin has no auto led unlike full LED chad
14:26 Tunnels cause claustrophobia! Hyundai cares each customer so much 🛡🛡😁
I remember when Hyundai cars were like disposable lighters.
why he keeps saying "hyundai"? It's genesis. Nobody say luxury toyota on lexus. wtf lol
Victor Hassan TRUEEEE
No. It's a Kia, if we're going to be factually correct.
elesjuan No, it's not. It's a Genesis. Just like Lexus is a Lexus and Acura is a Acura. No one would buy a Lexus if it is just a Toyota. Also, Kia, Genesis, and Hyundai are part of Hyundai Motor Group. So, a Kia is a Kia, a Genesis is a Genesis, and a Hyundai is a Hyundai.
elesjuan i think i just lost a couple of brain cells reading ur comment..
Except that Acuras are Hondas in much of the world, just as Datsuns were really Nissans.
So the important question is: is the G90 sold as a Hyundai in other parts of the world?
Doug the type of guy to call a car head rest a pillow
It's a head restraint duhh
Is that Doug's hand between two pillows?? Those aren't pillows, that's not his hand.
23:04
The headrests on our 2017 Optima SXL are like....so soft...Like pillows!
that interior is fantastic, looks mercedesy but seems to be built to lexus standards
pladderisawesome
I'll tell you something the quality of the fit and finish and is better than a Mercedes-Benz no scratchy or rough lower plastics.
Consumer reports ranked Genesis #1 over Audi and BMW. Mercedes was actually ranked under Chrysler this year. Their quality is really slipping.
go drive the most expensive benz, and then go drive a most expensive chrysler, and then tell me the difference of their quality
Despite what this guy says.....I think this is a beautiful, classy car that is an awesome value. I love the interior and actually like the conservative exterior.
unfortunately like the previous generation of Genesis& the Rest of Hyundai products, the Resale value would be next to nothing.
Payam yazdi in their defense, that mostly has to do with the brand reputation, but yes, their resale value do suck
I'm glad so I can get a use 1
Why does Doug think that most people are less observant than he is? I think most owners will notice these things he thinks they wouldn't notice.
most people wouldn't.
You don’t have to watch him
@Littleathquakes
What you meant is: most americans wouldn't
No I don't. Critics can actually help improve content.
Doug is the type of guy to water his grass
TheGhostofMarley I hope you're joking but if you are not, people in hotter climates NEED to water their grass. In Dallas, Texas, we need to water our grass at least once a week.
I think its a reference to the fact that in the opening shot there is water from a sprinkler randomly falling from the sky, he set up the camera on the lawn and didn't even bother to turn the sprinkler off...
Jack Howgate ooookay
TheGhostofMarley doug the type of guy to water his grass with a sprinkler while its raining
😂😂
Doug: The type of guy to slowly stroke a textured button.
As it is often with Doug: during the entire review the car sounds like an 8 or 9/10, then at the Doug Score, it's a 5. I don't get it.
DM Diamond I think he should get rid of the Doug score it was an overall good review and he liked the car but it ends up having a low score? Doesn’t make much sense
Yeah, me too. I love his reviews but the scoring is becoming kinda obnxious.
needs a bit of consistency. I think that was the point originally.
DM Diamond Lmao for reals like wtf is a 10/10, an suv that handles like a koenigsegg and has the luxuriousness of a Bentley, lol I feel like that would still get a 8/10
It looks good
JustUlt Music Because they copied Mercedes.
9:53 The window switch is double-wide so that Genesis doesn't have to use a different door panel on RHD models, they just switch out the window switches.
south koreans make good stuff
especially women
PiranhaJaw22 Show some respect 🙄
spudnic88 Well I still would happily defend and respect any other women no matter where they are from even if they ain't my mom
@spudnic88 um... I think he is talking about your mama
Have your tried korean bbq? Its da bes
I love Genesis (I have a g80 sport) but my only problem is the depreciation is horrible. Look at the price of used Genesis compared to the original MSRP
N. HEARD
All luxury cars are like that, though, so it's really just something you should expect going in.
Watch Doug's Maybach review..... car are not worthy investment unless its really rare, significant or unique.
Thanks, I will buy a used Genesis and drive it to the bones then.
damn, either you are rich or you really like Hyundais and you keep buying them because they keep breaking.
He didn’t try it in sports mode...
Good Lord I want this car
It’s nice, but I’d definitely buy a Lexus LS or Mercedes S-Class
Same, im also lookin for a G90, pretty nice car and its a steal for the value
If I was to buy a full-size luxury sedan, I would buy either this one (the Genesis G90) or the Cadillac CT6. I like Mercedes-Benz too, however for full-size luxury sedans, I like the styling of both the G90 and the CT6 more than the S-Class.
Say what will about the launch of the Genesis brand, what Hyundai didn't get wrong was the craftmenship or reliability. Both JD Power AND Consumer Reports lists Genesis as the #1 brand in both initial quality and reliability. That's right, Genesis took the crown from both for 2018...
"Genesis, Kia and Hyundai Are Three Highest-Ranked Brands"
"Genesis ranks highest in overall initial quality with a score of 68 PP100. Kia (72 PP100) ranks second and Hyundai (74 PP100) ranks third. This is the first time that three Korean brands are at the top of the overall ranking, and it is the fourth consecutive year that Kia is the highest-ranking Mass Market brand. Porsche(79 PP100)ranks fourth and Ford (81 PP100) ranks fifth."

The reason why they named the ambiance mood lighting colors is to further create ambiance. Seemed pretty obvious, idk why you made such a big deal about them naming the ambiance mood lighting.
Doug the type of guy that really likes little warning labels under the hood of the car.
Doug, the type of guy to be "startled" by interior led lights. Hahaha @ 6:46
Nowaday,
after I got one,
I am in love with
Huyndai.
Suddenly,
Their techs are
super and impressive.
I will give Huyndai two thumbs up for stepping up in design and techs
with good price.
