It's more performance than you would ever need on the road. Unless you are a professional driver you won't notice. If you care about weight that much then you need to forgo thick sound deadening glass, rear seats, carpet, cruise control, airbags, air conditioning etc. This is a luxury, quick road car, not a race car.
@@jonesjones7057 Motorweek said in their review "ALL ABOUT PERFORMANCE"....should NOT use words like that a performance car....ok BUT ALL ABOUT PERFORMANCE...means something else which this car is NOT
Biggest problem the GS-F and RC-F faces is competition so many choices out there and fact that in used car market these cars command roughly in low 50’s to mid 40’s. And being Lexus owners were cheapskates.
Really needs a 6 speed manual option or DCT. Lexus needs to understand this is a sports car , not a grand touring vehicle. At this price point, you're going up against things like the Shelby GT 350 & BMW M4. Only 8 speed auto? Really? Back In 2014/15, enthusiasts were begging for a manual transmission. And for emphasis, the new Supra, Toyota was "shocked" that the enthusiasts were clamoring for a *manual transmission*. I don't think Toyota & Lexus really get it. I guess if they're making enough profit, they'll just carry on.
Wayyy too much wheelspin thats why they couldn't get a better 1/4 time ...my 2016 RCF has no wheelspin from the dig with traction control off(expert mode) an its just as quick or faster then an m4 at 12.3 in the 1/4 mile
Honestly, the Lexus RC is a great build quality of a vehicle; but in the world of turbocharged inline 4s and 6s, this engine is a bit dated (built proof but dated). Placing a new inline 6 turbo (built by Toyota) in this chassis would have been a slam dunk in the market.
Ok firstly 470hp is good, but an 8spd auto is a disgrace. Secondly the interior looks like my camry which pisses me off because you can tell by the wheel that its for the seniors. Thirdly I dont think the RC did any actual weight savings so that 470 must still feel slow and lastly the looks of the car would never bring me close enough to even want to test drive it. I'll stick with my Vipers and Vettes thank you (I also like the LFA, Chrylser crossfire SRT6, Porsche 996 GT3, Aston DB9, Spyker, F360 challenge, Lambo Diablo, etc. Etc. Cars in this segment were previously very expensive eh?)
A loaded C8 is closer to $98k lol..Plus you're comparing a grand tourer with sporty intentions to a mid engine performance above all coupe. My 11 year old ISF I redlined every day for 70k mile, sold it at 99k without a single issue ever. My C5 squeaked like crazy at only 6 years old..
@@valdaviper1 I get that you're not Necessarily comparing apples to apples, however from a purely performance standpoint, it's not even close! Also no one said anything about fully loaded, all you need is the z51 performance package, which will put you at around 55k to achieve that insane super car comparable 0-60 along with the great looks, it's a no brainer really.
@@frankcastle1578 Again, you're comparing a luxury coupe with 4 seats released in 2014,(honestly designed in 2007) to a brand new mid engine design performance coupe designed in 2019. It's a no brainer if you want performance above all. I agree with you 100%. I'm sad that Lexus can't make a car faster than the 08 ISF with a single handling upgrade, or one faster than the 2011 ISF. Reason why I jumped from my 08 F to a 12 F instead of an RCF..But performance isn't the only thing that sells cars. No one buys a Lexus for performance above all, not even me.
@@valdaviper1 definitely you're right, no one will ever buy a Lexus for performance, although this one here does have performance as a "selling point" in my opinion, Lexus was going for that (as well as luxury of course). I know they don't compete directly. But I'm just saying firm my very own point of view if I had the money and I wanted a really fast car with amazing looks to boot, I'd go for the c8 all day. But again looks are subjective, you might think the c8 is ugly, who knows. I'd only buy the Lexus on the used market as I'm sure then it would be a good performance/luxury bargain.
Frisk Mall plus no one cares how long they last, most are leased anyway. Residual values are the only thing that matters and BMW and Audi have exceptional residual values...especially the M and S/RS monikers.
No one cares about long term reliability as long as the easy financing and favorable lease terms exist that keep the residuals high. Let’s get into another recession based credit crunch and you’ll be dropping the time bombs and running back to something that’s actually engineered properly to last more than just the 1st 5 years of life. I don’t fault people that lease stuff or drive Audi’s and BMWs cause it can actually make sense from a financial standpoint but make no mistake..... most of them are just pretty pieces of junk on a timer. If I was going high end I wouldn’t touch anything other than a Porsche, Lexus, or lotus for a daily driver.

And for emphasis, the new Supra, Toyota was "shocked" that the enthusiasts were clamoring for a *manual transmission*. I don't think Toyota & Lexus really get it. I guess if they're making enough profit, they'll just carry on.
What the new Supra should have been based off of!!!😔
Wayyy to heavy to be a supra.
3:39 💔💔
telling us "virtually no body roll" while we can actually see it roll quite a bit, bad timing for that comment :)
Better this than supra
Won't even touch a supra
The Shelby GT350 is what this car hopes to be
Wayyy too much wheelspin thats why they couldn't get a better 1/4 time ...my 2016 RCF has no wheelspin from the dig with traction control off(expert mode) an its just as quick or faster then an m4 at 12.3 in the 1/4 mile
I love gsf/rcf but no way its faster or same fast to m4/M3 no way
Dirty track, not maintained. Its deplorable that they do test runs on it.
@@jakubek89 itll hang or beat an m4 m3 drivermod
I prefer the older styling of the rcf
So do i especially the taillights...the preface looks better but i do like the new headlights
Yeah the new headlights look better as one piece rather than the two separate lightss
@@ReidEvers Yes exactly! 2015 RC F owner here.
me too!! Well I Like the new headlights, and bumper/grill but the rest they could've kept
see you in 5 years time when its price are better
Think it will get you laid?
Better buy these because they will soon disappear
Honestly, the Lexus RC is a great build quality of a vehicle; but in the world of turbocharged inline 4s and 6s, this engine is a bit dated (built proof but dated).
Placing a new inline 6 turbo (built by Toyota) in this chassis would have been a slam dunk in the market.
Bullet*
whats up with this guy's color?
Is Lexus having Stevie Wonder style it's cars? Sure seems like it to me.
THE DAMN THING NEEDS AWD!!
Hmm let's see 65k for this or 59k for a brand new C8 lol
This xD
Is it just me, or is this just a Lexus Sc
This looks like a 2020 Supra...not the POS from BMW.
ONLY if you have an I-phone
I don't know why I can't stand this guy's voice
I’ll take my M340 xdrive over this any day. Interior is so dated. Like a 90’s Lincoln Town Car.
It won't last as long as this car for sure.
Frisk Mall I won’t have it long enough to find out.
Frisk Mall plus no one cares how long they last, most are leased anyway. Residual values are the only thing that matters and BMW and Audi have exceptional residual values...especially the M and S/RS monikers.
Good. Don't drive an RC F thank you.
Leave a comment if you think C8 VETTE is the better choice or like if you rather take home the RCF.
People buy supras instead of this smh !
I'd take a GT 5.0 or a GT350 over THIS.
Annnnnd, u guys @ Motorweek shoulda worked out the kinks with the LAUNCH CONTROL BEFORE PRESENTING THIS. D 4 EFFORT
They really should have
No manual transmission ... No thanks
A Golf R does naught to 60 in 4.6 seconds.
Already smokked a golf R in my rcf
The Mustang GT hits 60 in 4 seconds
C8 Corvette 2.9
And looks like shit, like poor shity golf 1,6, hide it in forest
Sadly these will never be as good at the track as the offerings from Cadillac, Mercedes, BMW and Alfa Romero. But they're definitely a dead-reliable street poser which is what most buyers want anyway. Wish Lexus and Infiniti would aim a little higher though. Kind of reminds me of the BMW Supra.....swing and a miss.
Over priced
$65K I’ll pass
lol lol crap....i keep my LC500H.....and my fisker karma and my BMW 530E
Glad you are happy but the 500h lacks performance and the sound that makes these cars so nice. RC F owner here.
Please do.
That interior is so outdated...
😏👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
too bad its another seriously overpriced toyota.
legit you could just buy a Mazda or any muscle car of your choice and have just as much or more fun.
especially considering that half of the muscle cars have more power... (baby) and cost less.
LOL...buy a Mazda....yeah, okay.
@@MrMSBII dood you know the miata is quick.
@@sixpest, it ain't that quick.
Very true. The Mustang GT is $30k cheaper, faster and you can get it with a stick. Even Mustang's 10 speed auto trans is better than Lexus's 8 speed auto trans.
@@basshead. yeah? How's it better? It's a Ford...hard pass.
These drive like crap though... who goes to Lexus for performance?
Nice clone of a Mustang GT
The Mustang GT looks much better. This thing is soulless.
Current Mustangs came out back in 14, thought it was a nice clone of BMW 6 series ^^
+deephouse O This generation Mustang looks like a 69 Mustang Fastback.
Best looking mustang was the 2013-2014 much better then these new ford fusion lookalike stangs...The Rcf is clean looks muchhhh better inside and out then the boring looking mustang
@@basshead. Trash stang
Gosh........😕 Looks like a Hyundai.....
still an outdated toyota slow..
Pure slow and heavy. Fat outdated car. Infotainment is the worst on the planet. A waste of money. Buy a V6 Camry instead, far better interior, almost as quick, more reliable, and much better infotainment. The RC-F is a waste of money,. like all Lexus vehicles these days. They used to be nice, 15 years ago.
Haha poor idiot, just idiot nothing to say, just idiot
Stupididiot
Very stupid design!!
