YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE COMBING YOUR HAIR!!! 😭
"I never tossed off!"
*while gesturing wildly
🤣🤣🤣
(Over my dead body) "Your terms are acceptable". I need to be careful when to choose to take a drink watching your reactions.
😂😂😂
I WAS! I WAS!
Lmao when you said we're in mad max land the guy with the Mohawk plays a major villain in
Mad max 2
"What's the age difference here?" Well, Lisa's less than a day old...
This is true 😆
You got me there 😂
"What's the age difference here?"
Lisa is one day old and Gary is 15 😅
Honestly, Lisa's physical age has nothing to do with their power dynamic. Lisa is basically a genie - all powerful but bound by subservience (or so she says). She could take advantage of the boys, they could take advantage of her, but no one does.
Ha! Touché.
Supposedly, or at least the urban legend is, that John Hughes was such a prolific writer, that he wrote so much that at any given time, if you opened the trunk of his car, it would just be full of piles of scripts that he written, of all kinds of different stuff, and that you could just grab any one of them at random, and make it into a movie.
You know, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least
Cocaine is a hell of a drug...
"So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?"
Fun Fact: John Hughes wrote the script in only two days.
That's Hot Fact: In the shower scene, Kelly LeBrock was wearing a bikini bottom, with her nipples covered with black tape.
Casting Notes Fact: Vernon Wells said his first time visiting America was when he filmed his part in this movie. After filming wrapped, he signed on as another villain in Commando (1985).
Pork Sandwich Fact: According to Bill Paxton, Chet's line "How about a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?" was based on something his father John Paxton used to say to him when Bill was hungover from a night of drinking.
Computer Enthusiast Fact: Wyatt's (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) computer is a Memotech MTX512, with an FDX add-on. The computer was modified to add a large "ENTER" key with blinking red lights for the dramatic close-up key-pressing shot. Kelly LeBrock's character name was inspired by Apple Computer's first GUI computer, the Apple Lisa.
Good facts! I knew I saw an Apple rainbow in there 😂
I thought you might like those facts.
Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
BTS trivia is the best. Good stuff. I didn't realize that was the main bad guy from Commando. He was Australian right, at least by his accent. Also, the computer trivia is some of my favorite info, especially when they use real world devices
namco003 ...Good eye. In fact, he's best known as Wes from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981).
Go with God and Be Safe from Evil. 😎 👍
Another fun reaction! I always thought of this as a modern day Mary Poppins with less songs.
Ooh I can kind of see that too
The first three movie titles of Hughes' films were specific pop culture references from HIS teen years in the 50's---SIXTEEN CANDLES was a song, THE BREAKFAST CLUB was a television show, and WEIRD SCIENCE was a comic book. Later on, PRETTY IN PINK and SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL were named after existing songs, THE GREAT OUTDOORS after a nature magazine and PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES was a play on the song "Planes, and Boats and Trains". Even his obscure 90's movie REACH THE ROCK was named after an equally obscure song by the band Havana 3 AM.
It's telling of the times when films we considered quite average, yet fun are now considered much better than before or have a cult following. For desert you might watch the Thomas Dolby music video for 'She Blinded Me with Science'.
Edit: Wanted to add Robert Downey Jr is more likeable in Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield.
Ooh, I need to add Back to School to the list! I know my dad likes that one
Young RDJ is also a stand up guy in Tuff Turf, with James Spader
Back to School is a classic, Rodney's best starring role. I highly recommend it. It even has an appearance by Oingo Boingo, the Danny Elfman fronted band that also did the song for Weird Science.
Jip, he was in the first Hills Have Eyes movie.
I haven’t seen that in forever but it sure looks like the same guy 😂
@@RhetoricalThrill He's in a ton of horror, so always have an eye open for him
He has a very distinct look!
Thank you, you did not disappoint at all. Keep rockin
Thank you!
Loved your reaction, allways do. Now you need to do the other weird one "My Science Project". One of favorite movie from this unique era.
Crazy part I just watched this after your stream last night and didn't even know you were doing this.I love this and also the TV show. Thanks for this
Oh that’s funny!
This movie always reminded me of the movie "Electric Dreams" where a guy's computer comes to life. It sort of develops a crush on him. It has a lot of computer generated images/art, and has a pretty good soundtrack, it also came out the year before "Weird Science".
Oh yes please watch "Electric Dreams"! That is a great movie! Also, Explorers and The Last Starfighter.
Finding a copy of Electric Dreams could be rough given that afak it has yet to be released on anything but VHS and Betamax.
@@BackstageAtTheSmith It seems to be officially here on "RUclips Movies & TV" channel.
@@TearyEyesAndersonReacts awesome! It's such an 80's film :)
@@BackstageAtTheSmith You can find it definitely. I think I found it on youtube even.
Girl, I've got a great suggestion. Sticking with the 80's, "Tequila Sunrise" fantastic cast. I mean great.
Oh that was a fun reaction. I enjoyed this a lot thank you and, I look forward to the next one.
Yay, thank you!
The title song was sung by the band Oingo Boingo . Band member Danny Elfman went on to be a prolific film composer. Many collaborations with Tim Burton (Batman, Edward Scissorhands among many others).
Oh damn, I’ve heard of Oingo Boingo but I didn’t know Danny Elfman was part of it 😮
@@RhetoricalThrillhad to look it up . Danny Elfman sung lead and played bass. Weird Science was their highest charting song.. They also did "Dead Man's Party" which shows up during Halloween.
@@RhetoricalThrillthey make an appearance in Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield. A must watch.
@@RhetoricalThrill he also created the simpsons theme song.
Fun facts: This film was written in just 2 days. Also, John Hughes really hated the hectic nature of filming this movie but pushed through because if he got this film out on Universal's timeline, they promised to back the film he really wanted to make, a little movie called The Breakfast Club...😂😅😊
Fun Facts: The 3 crazy bikers outfits were inspired by Mad Max, & the one with the mohawk actor Vernon Wells, 3 yrs., previously played bad guy 'WEZ' in 1981, Mad Max 2. Kelly Lebrock admitted she actually got turned on by lIan Mitchell in their kissing scene, because he was a good kisser & in several takes Mitchell didn't kiss Kelly like you see in the final cut of the movie, all goofy & akward. The kid had skills. In Japan Weird Science was called: 'Electric Venus'. 'Touch me, I'm yours' in Denmark. 'Dream Woman' in Sweden. 'Oh, this Science' in Russia & 'Cool Magic with Lisa', in Germany. 😉👍
Damn, wtg little man 😯
Great reaction Rhetorical. Now I would never ask your age but you recognized "The Munsters", impressive. I absolutely love your wit.
my dad used to watch reruns 😊
@@RhetoricalThrill Oh geez making me feel old 😆
Saw this Classic in the theater when I was twelve or thirteen, and it's been a favourite ever since. Absolutely hilarious, great soundtrack, and a stacked cast (including Robert Downey Jr. , in probably the first role I saw him).
Great reaction to this sci fi 80s 💎 I saw this a lot as a kid in the 90s.
The lore of the tv show lisa is a genie
8:19 The use of "Tubular Bells" by Mike Oldfield only adds to the magic of this movie.
13:18 "Fu**in' Goobers!" 🤣 A phrase I use regularly. 👍
Hello Miss Rhetorical Thrill!😊 Regarding the film seen on TV. I think this was around the time Ted Turner was colorizing classic films and broadcasting them on TNT and TBS. This was a time with square TV tubes that people were annoyed with when black bars were shown on the top and bottom to show a film in its intended original aspect ratio. Instead, most films were cropped or used a pan and scan technique to fill the screen. Films were broadcast and edited for time and content on TV, and had a disclaimer at the beginning of the film as to those facts. It took many years for people to respect the director's intentions to preserve the original film. Another film from this decade that has a similar feel to this one is "Real Genius" (1985) with a very young Val Kilmer!🤯 It is a very fun 80s film!😆 I would rate it higher than this film, IMO. However, this film was good enough to inspire a TV series by the same name. I never noticed that Chet looks like 💩. This film was prior to the emojis existence. Great reactions to this weird 80s comedy, Miss Thrill!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
Thank you! I’ll add Real Genius to my list too 😊
I would really like to see you react to a wonderful nerd movie from the same era, "Real Genius" starring Val Kilmer.
Such a crazy fun movie!
Man!! Throwback! My brother had this recorded off HBO way back in the day, and my DAD loved this movie! I have drawings I made of creature Chet in a sketch book somewhere.
Haha I love that!
great reaction
this movie is PURE 80's :)
if u get the 80's u get this movie :)
Everything about it is 80s 💜
fun movie, Bill Paxton monster form is hilarious.
Not at all what I expected to see 😂
What's funny is in just a few short years Anthony Michael Hall would transition from nerd to jock douche roles.. Another film he did (with Robert Downey Jr as his best friend) Johnny B. Goode with a very young Uma Thurman and Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands. Hall and RDJ also both joined SNL for a year.
I remember him in Edward Scissorhands, such a drastic change 😂
This wonderful movie proves that the 80's were the best time to be a teen!
I'll have to take your word on that, I was just a little bitty then, but I do enjoy the pop culture 💜
You totally get these 80s movies, and it's awesome.
Thanks! There’s a lot I haven’t seen but I have seen enough to understand and love them 💜
They think they make a girl but actually she is obviously a spirit / genie who tries to help them out after being summoned, and teach them something.
John Hughes wrote this in two days and worked on this one at the same time as “The Breaskfast Club” cause he wanted to make “The Breakfast Club” but Universal wanted this one so they made a deal they’d fund “ The Breakfast Club” if he did this movie. 5:18 Kelly LeBrock wore a bikini bottom and pasties while in the shower. 5:50 they came up with Lisa cause Apple’s first GUI computer was named Lisa. Kelly LeBrock in a documentary described her character as “Mary Poppins with breasts”. 7:20 Bill Paxton adlibbed the “greasy pork sandwich” line cause it was something his dad told him when he was hungover from drinking 8:15 there’s a 9year difference between Lisa (Kelly LeBrock) & Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith).
Glad you didn't get hung up on the age disparity---people forget that the two boys are creating their fantasy, and as a teen boy in the 80's, I can safely say we had fantasies about older women!
Yeah, it’s funny to think about but I prefer to take things in the spirit they’re intended. It does no good to wring hands over stuff like that when it’s just meant to be good fun 😊
@@RhetoricalThrill That's why I appreciate your reactions
I saw this with a buddy of mine when I was 12 when it came out. My buddy said, hey let’s see if we can make Kelly LeBrock on your Commodore 64. 😂Ah those were the days:)

Mary Poppins with breasts 🤣
The mistaking the rpm for the mph is a eral thing. My mom actually did that one time when I was a kid. She was driving a friend of hers camero. She was running well over 100 mph before she realized she was looking at the tachometer.
Uh oh 😂
@@RhetoricalThrill yep. She scared the hell out of her friend. They never let her drive again.
1. Movie magic: Just before the first motorcycle hits the glass door the breakaway glass shatters before the hit.
2. My favorite character is Chet. The Late Bill Paxton KILLS
3. The guy in the bar that gave Gary his hat played Carl in, "The Breakfast Club".
4. Movie magic: More than just a cup full of ICEE fell on the guys.
5. "Toss off". How about "Spank the monkey"?
6. Hilly or Deb? Hilly
Chet is amazing because of Paxton 😂
Love this movie
Why are you so sweaty , I said that out loud same time you did lol 😂😂😂
Haha nice!
I mostly know Kelly LeBrock (Lisa) from "Hard To Kill", one of the only two watchable Steven Seagal movies (the other is "Under Siege"). Yeah, the bar is THAT low for Seagal movies.
This was a fun movie...2 guys wearing bras on their heads what's more to love!😁
Haha one of the first teen movies I seen “when I was a kid “ I think I was 6-7 back in 1986 my big sister rented it at our now closed down video store . And loved it and my sister rented the other teen movies after she’s to blame for my love of movies cause she took me there and I found my love of 80’s horror and action . And yes that is the guy from the hills have eyes (bald guy) and the other guy with the girl and feathers and mo hawk is from the road warrior. I think Lisa is a sex gene here to help nerd/geeks become chick magnets ect But yeah girl great reaction as always
Thanks so much! 😊
"I'm not sure what that word means."
"Malaka" is Greek slang, with varying levels of intensity based on situation and inflection. It's like jerk, jerkoff, jagoff, or asshole. It can also be used in a friendly way, like bro or dude.
Ahhhh gotcha! I thought it might be some kind of slur we don’t use anymore so didn’t want to repeat it just in case 🤣
just saw air heads it was great you should take a look at detroit rock city with eddie furlong from t2 it punches all the same
nostalgia buttons youll love it.
Cincinnati Is Awesome! Would much rather be there than Chicago! 😂
This is stupid to say, but this movie is weird!! I absolutely love these weird movies from the 80's.
Weird is fun! You just gotta lean into it 😂 I think it helps that there’s a wholesomeness buried deep inside it
The original idea they had was way before its time: use AI to create a girl.
They didn't realize they made one for real.
If only making a perfect woman was that easy.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Ooh I like that
@RhetoricalThrill British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law is the best known and most widely cited. They are part of his ideas in his extensive writings about the future.
The laws are:
1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
I used to work at a Greek restaurant. Malaka is a popular insult in the Greek language. I have no idea what it actually means but the explanation I was given is it's someone who "pleasures them self" with the mother.. So a mo-fo, m-bater.
She’s into malakas, Dino 🤷🏻♀️ 😂
Mighty fun movie. Too bad it hasn't aged as well as most of his other teen classics. The dude from Mad Max: The Road Warrior was a great touch!
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
You too!
Lisa ends up, helping them do everything that they said in the beginning of the movie‼️ their wishes plus more🤓’
She helped them not only get what they wanted but what they actually needed 🥹 she’s a fairy godmother and there’s no other explanation
I wish you could have included EVERY DAMN NIGHT?!
I just noticed that beautiful Audrey 2 behind you.
Thank you! My sister made him 😊
@@RhetoricalThrill please tell her she did an amazing job
Please react to The Heavenly kid , best 80s comedy ever ! Please please
Thats literally a hills have eyes mutabt
I love this movie. Not the best movie, but if it came out when you were a young teenager…
chet is young bill paxton rip bill
I tried making a woman with AI.. didnt work unfortunately.
The effort is what counts, I’m proud of ya 😊
Can you watch the Cheech and Chong movies man? Start with up and smoke and move your way up man.
This movie is nowhere near as good as its pop culture significance might have you believe.
😂 fun though, at least for me
You should stop talking.
You should kiss my grits
If only making a perfect woman was that easy.
