- Steve Pearce and Sam Coley pitch their tech start-up and you may assume that they are towards the beginning of their business journey. However, that would be remiss when it comes to TickX. They're seeking an investment of £75,000 in return for a 5% equity stake, but who is this controlling shareholder?
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Lol, Peter was having none of it. "I've no problem with Ministry of Sound". LMAO

Technically it was Peter who revealed them on tv, not these guys so they’re good.
If the reveal was a problem for them then they would have asked the BBC to cut it from the broadcast.
@@alanw4589 If the reveal wasn't a problem for them they'd have divulged the information in the first place. Regardless of "who said it", the agreement is with these guys and they handed over the paperwork. Peter telling the room it was ministry of sound was a power move to show how powerful in business he really is, bravo!

This is one of those businesses that come in to the Den solely for free marketing. These guys just wanted their name out there.
That's my guess as well
I hate those type when there’s somebody who could really need the opportunity smh
Actually according to the story, they were featured in a news article and the producers of Dragons Den invited them, two weeks later there they were without need of applying. Knowing that and thinking back to what I just watched, it makes more sense given they never tried to get on the show, hence they were never going to be faced with revealing stakeholders.
WRONG. The fact the the MoS was revealed was a massive embarrassment to them and hence why the product failed.
Hmm..does it really work though? I've forgotten their name already. They should have taken the deal.
It's a shame they would have converted Touker's offices to Ministry of Sound nightclub for free.
I love how Peter played by the rules but exploited a loophole. Shareholder doesn’t want his name said? Fine. I won’t say it, but the company is blank. That’s the vibe I got. His devilish smile directly after was too funny!
I couldn't form and market a business myself but those two seemed like they'd got ambitious after their gap year.

The only reason Peter wanted to see the shareholder contract was so he could trot out his "you've already given 15% for 75K so why not give us 10%?" as if he's unaware that the value of a company increases as the company grows..
not necessarily, many companies fold too!

Touker, the only dragon left: I'm not willing to drop my percentage and for that reason I'm out.

Damn they tried to reduce the equity and all 3 dragons just declare themselves out. That’s tough
The dragons realised these guys were not there for investment. They just came on the show to promote their website. The fact that they could not move at all on the percentage proves that.
@@makatelli Well as they said they have 3 shareholders with one having already 15%+20% they were asking + the other two is basically somewhere around 60% of their company and there are two of them so there's also that. And they wanted to buy more than the initial invester for the same price XD
Peter is such a savage the way he revealed the name 😂😂😂
Nope....just running his voice box. Nothing new.
I really don't get why those guys didn't even try to make a counter-offer to at least tempt the dragons. Should have offered 7,5% each to Peter & Nick with a clawback of 2,5 when their investment is repaid.
Because they couldn't.

Company update: so life after the den was a struggle for the first year. Yet the company jumped immensely in terms of second year profits which came out at 17.9 million. I personally think it's kind of a trash idea, it'd take an extra 20 seconds to look for this info from across the other sites
It seems to be doing well.
It sounds like it's made clear to show participants prior to their appearance that all information about their offer/company structure is fair game for broadcast. I think Peter was trying to illustrate that point rather than simply explain it. Moreover, it's silly to ask someone to invest money in a company and not let them know who the other shareholders are. Think of it this way: five years ago you were involved in a deal with a company that you felt lied, cheated you and otherwise acted unethically. Today you invest $50k in a different company... only to find that the company you swore you'd never be involved with again... is also a substantial shareholder. Now you're in business with people you don't like or trust. Lastly, maybe the entrepreneurs had promised not to reveal that MOS was an investor. But Peter didn't. He's not bound by any promises they made.
The said they could tell the dragons the name. They just didn't want it said on-air. That mutes your entire comment.
This is my favorite line up of Dragons
Let's be honest.. The only "shopping for prices" is done at the resell level, which is illegal and the industry is trying to eliminate at all costs!
It's not illegal, and the industry isn't trying to eliminate reselling, quite the opposite in fact. They're actually complicit in it! Big companies like Ticketmaster own reselling sites like Ticket Exchange, and it's not uncommon for tickets to sell out in seconds on the main site, only for them to reappear on the sister 're-selling' site moments later for exorbitantly jacked up prices.
It's becoming more and more of a scandal recently, but not a lot has been done about it because Ticketmaster are so big and have so much clout in the industry.
There's a whole John Oliver segment on here about how shady it all is
@@BadgerOff32 You are wrong, more and more tickets are only valid with ID. no reselling possible. But I am not often at events.

@Awesome Metal Bands Official it shows how absolutely naive and unprofessional some of these people are. Touker should have snatched the deal at 10%
Those two guys were outright silly! They only offered 5% because they had already given away 15% to their mysterious partner. I guess they only wanted FREE national PR for their product!
Honestly though, if they DID just want free PR, then this is a pretty smart way of going about it. Maybe misleading and not in the spirit of the show, but if the media infrastructure is there then they'd be silly not to use it, tbh
@@alexharrison2743 Good point, but we all will still believe that they are dishonest by being on the show for a clever personal interest, hence, their product is in doubt. These are two, seperate issues. Absolutely, the Dragons can hold it against them that they don’t want to share the information. But that doesn’t give Peter the right to go and do that to them.
@@theovolz3073 Peter never promised MOS that he wouldn't reveal their investment. He's free to do what he likes and never said a word that wasn't true. Perhaps it bothered him that MOS was restricting these young guys and he wanted to stick it back to them.

Why scold people for keeping confidentiality with business partners on a TV show when they're prepared to show you that information privately? Just an arrogant and petty power move, and one which would make me immediately not want work with you.
The den isn't about private discussions, it is a TV show. If you want to keep things confidential don't go on the show find another investor
