  • Death is coming and I don’t want to spend a moment trapped. I’ve had asthma and so that’s always impaired my breathing from the very beginning. I used to have to sleep leaning up against the bedroom wall to breathe at night. And then, when I was a teenager I was doing boxing and it really shouldn’t have happened, but my nose got broken. Since then, I hadn’t been able to breathe through my nose while lying down at night. 10 years later I had this surgery. 1 week after, it was a very emotional moment. I probably haven’t breathed effortlessly since I was about 5. It wasn’t the relief of being blocked up that made me cry. It was the effortlessness of breathing easy. Breath is so fundamental. If you’re breath is out of alignment, you’re out of alignment. So you want to have this core foundation of ability healthy. To breathe effortlessly and be with that breath is to be free.

    Thank you. Will check out your techniques.
    I have 2 different genetic Neuromuscular diseases that have me in chronic trifecta of pain: muscle pain as my muscles die off; joint pain from the resulting widespread arthritis & misaligning joints; nerve pain that has my toes & fingers burning with the added electric spikes down my legs or arms causing thrashing (very disruptive during meditation)
    My purpose in taking up meditation was is pain control & healing. The medical world offers NO hope, so it's all up to me to heal myself. I'm making progress, reducing pain levels and reversing some of the destruction done. Checking out your recommended books on meditations, that's how I found you: a reddit post you had pointing to the 5 books you recommend.

      I can’t imagine your situation. I was very sick when I was younger and in hospital a lot and I have some friends who have ongoing challenges. Hopefully meditation can offer some relief. It’s definitely possible, it is normally harder this way though as pain is very distracting. But, in theory it’s still something you can practice and get good at. And it is something I use whenever I am healing or having an operation and it helps me. I hope it can help you too. Thank you for letting me know, I’m going to have to think if I know any other healing meditation resources :) ♥️

    talk about Deja Vu i had heart surgery last summer and i just got out of the hospital Monday after surgery for severe cervical spinal stenosis and need more done i have had the most profound feelings of complete peace and love in the hospital when i meditate, i tried to put it into words but could not and then this idea or feeling slipped away ! but now i feel at peace and anxious just cannot put my finger on it , i understand kinda sorta why some things cannot be explained but you have to witness it for yourself! but as you were saying i meditated on my breathing letting the clouds come and go with my breath just observing. Thing is i was going to send this thing yesterday had saved it in word and then stopped short of posting because i wasnt sure why i was sending it! If that made any sense!?#$%% Rupert Sheldrakes morphic resonance or the cloud consciousness theory!Feel better!!

      It certainly made some sense 😄 I think I see what you’re saying! And I’m happy to hear your using some techniques! These unique situations in consciousness are an extraordinary place to be and I suppose therefore a great opportunity explore the mind! Wishing you everything for the next time you’re in 😄 and I’ll look up these resources you mentioned!

    Well, that was brave, making a video and making sense just after surgery! Ever since your wife said that you were in hospital for surgery I have been sending positive thoughts your way, and hope by the time you read this you will be feeling the benefits of the surgery and will be pain free. Wishing you both all the best...

      My best wishes for yours! This is what I had. I read in blogs the sensation of breathing again afterward was the best feeling in the world. And post surgery I’ve only just noticed how obstructed my airways actually were. On the other side and breathing effortlessly now, it legitimately is one of the best sensations I’ve experienced.

      @@SonamHoani - My nose has never been up to par, so it doesn't get much use. It's just an aid for my breathing most of the time. I think my quality of breathing would skyrocket lol. I imagine the nose would have to get used to it too without just getting super dry, but I dunno.
      Oh that's awesome, well you've encouraged me to speed up the process!
      I just gotta remember to tell them to use extra lubrication on that pipe, because last time I was under my throat skin got damaged, so the doc told me to just tell them that next time.

    • @SonamHoani
      @SonamHoani  2 года назад +1

      Oh man, that was probably the sorest thing I’m experiencing in the video (the throat). Well, see I’d gotten so used to breathing without the nose I didn’t think it was worthwhile… but today’s the first day Is say that it really was. Make sure they look after you! (And let me know when it’s happening!)

    Hello again Sonam. I hope you make a speedy recovery, that doesn't look pleasant at all. I hope the morphine makes you feel like you're floating in enlightenment :). Get well soon.

      The morphine is wonderful 😆! And it’s a little bit later now, so I’m breathing clearly again and that in itself is wonderful! Thank you for your well wishes 🙏😃
