We used to go to flash foods at Meijer in our area very regularly. The problem is they hardly have anything at our store and the only thing that’s in Flashfood is baked items. We used to have hauls like you did, but I think it’s a thing of the past for our local Meijer. in our area we have Martin’s supermarket and they also do it. We tend to find a little bit more there, but very seldom.
Dip them in some tomato basil soup!! Comfort food for sure. Makes this southern girl do the happy dance!!

I wonder if there is a reason that you prefer the type canner that you have to watch the pressure gauge and lock down the lid??
I have a couple of friends that use them but they seem like too much trouble for me!!
Back in my childhood (I am 76) my grandmother used one of them but my mother never did. She always used the Mirror canner that has the numbered gauge that sits on top and regulates on its own. I still use my mother's canner and it works wonderfully.
I just have to listen for the gauge to start to jiggle and I then turn down the high heat until the gauge just jiggles, hesitates, jiggles....
I set the timer and never have to look at it again until the timer goes off.
In our area of Western Pa Flash Foods are in some Giant Eagles.

we throw away 'chicken broth' every day. every grocery store deli does. my last thought as I dump it is, man you could boil some egg noodles, carrots, white meat and have CHX noodle soup. oh well... As i watch this, I have to remind myself both of you are heavy tractor trailer operators. that's something in itself!
