Renee…I hope I don’t upset anyone BUT you have every right to buy what you want without justifying. I always hear a hint of justification in your voice when you spend YOUR money and it kinda grates on me. If folks are commenting negatively then it says more about them than you, just sayin’! I’m quite frankly amazed it took this long for you to upgrade with all the cooking and baking you keep doing. You ARE a business and regular appliances aren’t made for the magnitude of your kitchen production. I understand the hemmin’ and hawwin’ because I waited years to buy my kitchenAid and it’s only Jack and myself. When our 2 children were home I used a hand mixer and I was forever replacing them. I only comment because I think folks need to figure out that we are subscribers and visitors to your channel by choice and we aren’t board members with a voice. I love watching your many kitchen and garden vlogs as it brings back so many memories of my growing up years when I learned to cook with 12 around our dining room table for meals and you big batch cooked for every meal. When my older siblings moved on and built lives of their own we were soon bursting out the walls and I was sure I was being prepared for army mess hall cooking. I remember when my oldest brother was drafted into the army he would write home asking me to bake cookies…as in dozens so he could share with his “closest friends”. My mother was forever replacing her kitchen appliances and with the amount she fed it wasn’t easy to replace them so your investment is just common sense. Enough said on my part but just don’t ever feel the need to justify anything you are doing. Thanks for the visit and happy cooking as Jacque Pepin always says!!!:):):)
I agree with you 100%. It has always been a pet peeve with me when subscribers to a channel order, you have to do this, you can't do that, I told you to fix that, and you haven't done it. To me they are sharing their lives with us, not asking for, or needing, our permission, or approval, on their choices, or their way of life. Now my rant's over, I'll climb back down off my soapbox. Renea, I really enjoy your channel.
My Mama made biscuits every day except Saturday. My Daddy could make them too. She worked second shift at Cone Mills. She would get off work at night and enjoy her biscuits she had cooked earlier in the day. Her biscuit cutter was a Vienna Can. She poked holes in the top. My Mama passed away when she was 70 years old from Ovarian cancer almost 20 years ago. She sure could cook. I love your videos Rena. You are so down to earth. Much love from North Carolina and God Bless you and your family.
My cookbook was younger than most of y’all’s! Only 41 years old tgat I got in 1983 when I got married. I recently gifted it to my daughter in law who loves to cook!
Hi Renea- You absolutely deserve this monster mixer! I have a standard Kitchen Aid stand mixer and love it! But you have a large family and the farm stand, so this is perfect. There is no stopping you now! It will pay for itself in no time. Congratulations! When I have time I will send you an email with photos of our New Hampshire farm. Happy baking! ~ Diane -- P.S. That is also my Grandmother Hazel's biscuit recipe 🙂
i love to watch you, it's so educational, therapeutic and enjoyable. Me, myself i've gotten lazy now i make my dough press it out and square up the ends and cut, no waste , and on real lazy days i do it right on my parchment or silpat. I can just taste sausage gravy with them magnificent bisquits, enjoy every bite. I love vevor products, can't go wrong with them in my opinion. Your kitchen, your money, your businesss, no one else matters.
I have that same cookbook. It was my mother's. I have same problems with the pages. It has wonderful recipes. My mom got it in one of her bridal showers in 1959. Love all the little notes and every little stain in it.
I was a managing chef and foodservice director for over 20 years. You will love that mixer! I was making stuffed pork loin for 25 yesterday and was really missing a large mixer. Needed at least one more large bowl. Enjoy!
I've been dreaming about buttermilk biscuits for a week! I couldn't get enough minutes of free time in one day to make any til now!! Congratulations on buying a much needed mixer!
Those biscuits look delicious! My mom has a Betty Crocker cookbook and I remember her baking in the kitchen growing up and she still has it :) Thanks for the video.
I received the very same cookbook in 1965 from my MIL when I got married and still have it today. I did use a lot of recipes from it. It certainly came in handy since I didn’t have much of a clue about cooking.
Hello Renee.. I have been a subscriber about 2 months now & I am so happy to have found your channel. I love every one of your videos! You are such a hard working, Positive, Kind, Sweet woman. I also Love Mr Wayna. I have to admit that a couple of times when I was watching you & he came into the kitchen & waved, I Waved Back to him. LOL I'm such a goober & I really get into your videos. Oh how wonderful it would be to live close to you & have you as a friend. Brenda Wichita KS
I pat mine into a square and just cut the biscuits into squares, no rerolling scraps, and no tough biscuits, plus it's much faster. Your biscuits are beautiful.
Oh Congratulations on the new mixer!! That will help you so much and all of us subscribers know it. How precious you have a cookbook from your momma 💖. Take care of that wonderful book!
I am so glad that you took the leap to get the mixer that really wanted… and needed!!! I can’t wait to see all the goodies that you will make with it!!!
So happy for you! With all the baking you do, it’ll get a workout, lol. Not only do you need a commercial mixer, you deserve it! Congratulations. Hope you have that beast on a rolling stand with locking wheels, that baby will be rocking around the kitchen.
Renee them biscuits are my weakness. They look delicious.give me some butter and jelly and a glass of tea . Yummy.😮 I need you to send me a dozen.hahaha.
Oh yes. That is my favorite cookbook. The Buttermilk Biscuit recipe is at the bottom of page 78 in mine. And, my cookbook is well worn and well loved. I inherited my mother’s and my sister’s when they went to Heaven. They were from different years, and I gave one of them to a daughter and the other to a granddaughter. Mine will go to another granddaughter some day. I just found you - but, I bet you weren’t lost. Haha. Thanks for sharing and being here. God bless you.
I checked the date I bought this book new. Early in 1961. I bought it before I got married in August 1961. So many memories and great meals. My favorite recipe, and the one I use most often, is Southern Cream Cookies on page on page 179. I have made a little change in the recipe which makes it better and unique: along with the 1 tsp vanilla (I use Watkins Baking Vanilla), I add 1 tsp fresh orange juice, and 1 tsp lemon juice. You might have to add a tad more flour to compensate. I also chill my dough for 24 hours before baking my cookies.
Oh wow! You got a beauty! You do have a need for that. We had a similar one at our bakery for our smaller batches that didn’t require the huge floor mixer. I am thrilled for you. 😁
Miss Renee, I made these biscuits and they were magnificent large fluffy bisciuts. Just right for one and some for the freezer. My new biscuit recipie thanks for sharing.
That's like the mixer I use in my 2 restaurants, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking, it's a gem, don't know what I would have done without it, you go girl with your cooking 🍳🔪🍳😇🥰
I love the old flavorful recipe from the 50’s-60’s. Thanks for being such a sweetheart & sharing the story & journey. Wrote it all down to bake. Maggie in Mississippi ❤❤❤
I've been wanting to try making buttermilk biscuits for a while but I'm new to baking and was a little intimidated. Made these today and they were amazing. Thanks for the video.
Laminators are not very costly now days. I bought mine over 20 years ago and i still have it. I paid $50 for it way back then but it was worth every penny i paid for it. I use to buy the 200 sheets at SAMs club for $20. They pretty much still cost around that. I had an old Betty Crocker cookbook from 70's that was falling apart that i laminated. I bought a bigger binder and put all sheets into it. I also had a newer 1990's ones from when i got married to my first husband. I did lose those with everything i owned about 11 years ago. But I did very much love those cookbooks. You will be surprised how many things you want to laminate through the years. I still have my laminator because it was in my car with my labtop at the time i lost everything in my home. I still use it off and on all these years later. You just never know when you will want something laminated. I found very fast that the singe 200 packs of laminate paper was thicker and better than the cheap stuff they use at staples or other office stores. Also If you decide to laminate your cookbook pages you will find out that actually purchasing a laminator and papers will be cheaper than getting it done for you. It basicly will pay for itself just doing that 1 cookbook. What i loved about having mine laminated was that i could remove the pages when i was doing a huge meal prep and i never had to worry about them getting wet and ruined. Just having the page out took up so much less room also. I would just say get you one. Great video and it wonderful to see you got a new mixer that you wanted. Good for you. I was saving for one and then my husband blew his engine on a car he owes over 20k. There went everything i was planning on buying for black Friday. I will get one someday, it was just not my time now. Love your videos. I love how down to earth you are on them. Keep up being you!
Renee Just found your channel a short time ago. Love you and the content. Know this is a video done while back but hope you are able to read the comments.❤️

So happy that you were able to get your big mixer. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of it tenfold. Your biscuits look amazing. I also just love the table you have your mixer on. Enjoy watching ,from Pennsylvania!
Congratulations on your new mixer! You enjoy all the help that will give you! Love your biscuits! This is how my Mom made hers and they were always so good! Thanks Renea & Mr Wayna!

I am looking forward to seeing you making those large batches in your new mixwer. It wont matter if the recipes have been done before. So please bring us along when you use it. Greetings from North bay Ontario,
I am so happy for you. You work hard to teach us following your channel on making life easier in our kitchen, preparing meals, and saving money and time. Persevering and canning food for our pantry. I enjoy watching you and creating your recipes for my family. At times, I wish I could knock your door ,sit, and chat. Love it! Glad you are doing a personal review on it and letting us know you brought it straight out. At times I tend to skip viedos then I have grandma cookbooks and handwritten ones--what sweet memories they give and my boys want the recipes ( 6 big binders getting ready for this Christmas presents ❤❤❤❤❤❤ ) Love watching your channel ❤️ 💕
I can't think of what they are called, but there are "hole repair" stickers that are sold usually with the office supplies in stores. That's what I've used.
Hi i have just found your channel and been working watching some of your videos all week you have given me some ideas.but as i live in the UK I will have to find an alternative to some of the ingredients
Good morning Renae ….. I really enjoy your show…… I find you really relatable and refreshing……. I cook and bake most everything from scratch like you…..maybe on a bit smaller scale…..grew up in Canada but now living in California……. You’re cooking and baking make me feel so nostalgic ……like most of the ladies in my family….. so I keep it going and the funny thing is people here friends and coworkers love my baking and think that it’s so difficult to make…. But actually a lot of my recipes have been handed down through the generations…..my mom was the bread maker and an aunt had the best pastry recipe…..I just love your personality and wish I lived closer …to bake together and hang out with a coffee cake…..thanks for welcoming us into your kitchen…❤
Hi Renea and John! Congratulations on your new mixer and it should help with all your needs. Biscuits look delicious and will go great with the chicken and gravy. Have a blessed day!
Love your down to earth cooking teaching videos I feel like I’m right there in the kitchen with you. You’re amazing and I have got quite a few recipes from you. I love it it’s change the way I cook. I like the liners that you use on your cookie sheets and like to know where you get them I spent a lot of money on parchment paper and those would be a money saver. Thanks so much for your show. I enjoy it. Also, congratulations on your new mixer. That is awesome. You deserve it.

Your own home version of Big Bertha! That's what i like to call the giant Hobart floor stand mixers in the restaurants/ bake shops.
My cookbook was younger than most of y’all’s! Only 41 years old tgat I got in 1983 when I got married. I recently gifted it to my daughter in law who loves to cook!

Hi Renea and John! Congratulations on your new mixer and it should help with all your needs. Biscuits look delicious and will go great with the chicken and gravy. Have a blessed day!
Congrats on your new mixer.
We call them scones but we serve the with jam and cream
Awesome video Renee. I love homemade biscuits
I have that book and love it.
Thank you. I get the liners on amazon. I buy the big packs cause I use them so much. Here is the link for you. amzn.to/3WCaqtR
