You are going to be so much healthier down the road for sure since you quit smoking. I’m very proud of you and for losing weight. Yay! I need to do that myself.
Hello Renee, I would love to see more meals for two on your channel. It is just me and you can’t find freezer meals or sheet pan meals for two or small families. Thanks and good bless
What a wonderful recipe. This is going to be our supper for tomorrow night. You are a fabulous inspiration to all of us. Thank you for sharing your love for cooking.
I feel the same way when I watch cooking videos and they dont scrape the bowl/pan! So much waste! Congratulations on quitting smoking AND losing weight! Hubby and I smoked for almost 25 years and we quit in 2003. I couldn't believe how much extra money we had! Keep up the good work. I love your videos btw, you make everything look so easy 😂
Our beef comes in the same packaging, we get 1.5# chubs, and after you cut off the top, use the scissors to poke into the bottom of the bag and make like a 2 inch slash in the bottom, turn it over, grab the two corners of the bottom of the bag, and the burger slides right out because the air can get in and it works a treat. Give it a try.
Hi Rena, from Akron, Ohio!! Your scalloped potatoes looked sooo good!! I’ve got to try this recipe for sure. I have made meatloaf burgers before just like you just did. May God truly keep on blessing you, Mr. Wayne and your channel!!❤️ It was good to see Mr. Wayne in your video.
Wow!! This looks awesome and good,.. I will definitely give it a try ,.. thank you ma'am for this wonderful recipe...yes I agree with you,. About people that don't scrape the mixing bowl....😁👍😊
I was wondering about the smoking.. didn’t want to be rude and ask. Wish I could quit!! I did notice you have lost weight also! I am so so happy for you!! I am a grandma now and I just want to be healthy for my Family.. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Love the videos!!! Makes me hungry for my grandma & mom’s scalloped potatoes. Can you share where you got your slicer? My slicer is on a stand & such a pain to clean. Thanks
I do meatloaf patties, too. Though I shape them into ovals about the same thickness as you have there. Ground chicken meatloafs with panko, shredded green apple and cheddar cheese in the mixture with an apricot preserve glaze with a lil ketchup and a tsp or two of white wine vinegar is yum on them. Fast to cook oval patties which i love.
I really enjoyed watching this video! I never tried the hamburger over scalloped potatoes and I showed my husband your video and he thought it sounded good:) You and your husband work well together in the kitchen and I thank you for the recipes. We pray too before we eat and I really appreciate seeing that in your videos.
Also this is my kind of meal!! I am sitting here thinking if it’s too late to make this same dinner!! Lol Have a blessed weekend! Again Thank you for all you do .
Renae, do you season your iron pans and if so, how? Also, I don't have much freezer space (1 side by side frige/freezer) but I have a lot of shelf storage in my garage. Can you please do more videos incorporating your freeze dried or dehydrated foods? (Congrats on you non-smoking. I quit smoking in 1980 and haven't regretted for a single day. It's not easy but it's very worth the effort.)
Congratulations on that wonderful weight loss. Plus you quit smoking too. What an accomplishment!! Your going to feel so much better. I guit smoking in 2010 with the help of Chantix. I didnt realize how bad my clothes, suitcases and everything stank!! I had to wash and disinfect everything of mine. Hubby still smokes though. These recipes are going to be made next week at my house. Going to add cheese and bacon to the potatoes. Can't wait to make them. For hubby I'll have to some brown gravy to go over the burger.
Hi Renea, and John, scalloped potatoes look amazing, and I am like you, drives me nuts when someone doesn't scrape the bowl too. It's very good to.lose some weight, especially after quitting smoking, great job.
An old neighbor told me that her mom explained that if different women cook the same dish, and one is always better, they said "it's in the hands". That's what they said in the old day's in Albania.
I’ve never used milk for meatloaf! I have used V-8 juice and oats to make meatloaf for the past several years, and hubby loves it. I sometimes do a 8-10 lb meatloaf at a time intending to freeze some. (I use 2 lb sausage for 8-10 lb mixed with hamburger.) Hubby always finishes it before I freeze any😂. We normally cook it on our pellet grill/smoker. Last time, my husband must not have cleaned something out, and the whole grill caught on fire! We lost all the meatloaf and were lucky the house didn’t catch fire, since the grill was against our back wall outside😮. Needless to say, we’re shopping for a new grill.
One more comment…. I watched a video recently where she made roux and froze it in mason jars. When she wanted roux, she got out the jars of the frozen cooked butter/flour mixture, added whatever amount she wanted in the pan, then added her milk or broth. I’m thinking about doing that, also. As long as I’m cooking a bit, I might as well cook a lot😊
Forgive me. Mr. Wayna, understands it (cooking, chef) but he's mechanical/hardware so it goes in an ear and out the other mostly. Sort of like me, in a way. I get paid next week! Hope boss isn't reading. :) Teamwork is dreamwork!
@@LittleVillageHomestead so sorry to hear about your loss. We are getting 2 kittens. Will not replace my dog however they will fill the void. You had 2 cats didn't you?
Can I ask where I can find the slicer that you use please? I’ve tried several different ones and not happy with any of them. Yours seems to cut effortlessly. 👍
Hello Renee, I so enjoyed your live last night, also enjoyed seeing John and Ms. Lippy joining in, it was so much fun, and as always I never miss a video but don’t comment often. Hope your having a fantastic day!! And thanks for sharing! 🥰
Congratulations on weight loss! It's hard the older we get, boy do I know. I, too, used to smoke. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just didn't like the health ramifications. I smoked off and on for 5 decades. Yes, 5 decades. Every time I quit, I would lose weight. I don't know the reason, as it is the opposite of what most people experience. The recipes this morning may be what I make for dinner tonight. Cooking the meatloaf burgers on top of the potatoes is a great idea. Much love to you ❤️
This looks so good. Where did you get that casserole dish.plz ? I love it. Will be making this soon ty, Never thought of making meatloaf into patties.. congrats on losing weight
Hi Renae. It’s been a few years since watching you. Why? No se. But I made sure to hit the subscribe. I seem to recall you had a new chicken coop and certainly you have a new stove and refrigerator. You also still have Mister Wayna. Wasn’t he not fond of onions and did not like to be on camera? Again it’s been a while. Susan from Houston Texas. ❤
On your chit-chat a woman talked about cast-iron it is now vary safe to wash with soap because we no longer have liy in are soap so it nolonger hurts cast-iron. Sorry for my misspellingI
Miss Renea what brand of mandolin are you using? 😊 Been thinking about buying one and urs seems to work pretty darn good ❤ Also you nor the recipe specifies chicken/turkey stuffing?
Good morning Renae and Mr. Wayna. Was watching the live chat last night and you mentioned pumpernickel flour, is that just the dark rye flour? My husband loves pumpernickel bread but never have much luck making it, always very dense. So will be waiting for your video on it. Thank you and God bless you both.
No, they aren't the same. Pumpernickel flour is the common name for 'course rye meal'. It is unsifted and made from the entire rye kernel. Rye flours are sifted which removes some of the bran and germ. These are also the properties that hold the most nutrients.
Morning Renee,? When you blanch, do you wait until the water comes back up to the boil before you start to time your vegetables, or do you start timing as soon as the vegetables are in the water? 💛 from 🇨🇦.
I scrape too!
My mama always put fresh nutmeg in her white sauce for scalloped potatoes.
I liked Mr Wayna, put bacon bits in the scallopped. potatoes! Thats sounds delish to me!
Made the meatloaf burgers they are the best . Thanks so much for the videos.
I tried your Swiss mocha recipe and now I make it by the gallon...it's sooo good. Can't wait to try more. ❤❤🎉😊
Grandma's was made with love. It's her secret ingredient.
You are going to be so much healthier down the road for sure since you quit smoking. I’m very proud of you and for losing weight. Yay! I need to do that myself.
I know what mean about watching someone else not scrape out every bit/drop of whatever! Drives me up a tree!
Good afternoon, Renee. I'm so happy for you losing weight and not smoking anymore. Keep up the good work ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello yall, my goodness your potatoes and meatloaf burger looks Delicious 😊❤🙏

First timer!!! I always thought cheese should be in scalloped potatoes - who knew!! Enjoyed your video. 💜
I always make scalloped potatoes and ham. I make it the same as you but with a ton of cheese and add pieces of cut up ham.

Yum. I do the same. A meat loaf, some patties & meatballs from the same mix (seasoning tweaked a little bit for different flavor in each.).

Weather here in Bristol UK the same. Cold one day hot the next. Surprised by snow last Saturday!.Like your meal. Yum.x

Did you loose your cat Charlie? We had to put to sleep my 16 year old Jake russel last month. The hardest thing I had to do. I cried for days.
yes, we had to put her down from cancer.🥹

Definitely trying meatloaf, may add little ketchup though
Good for you quitting smoking!! I smoked 3 packs a day for 30 years and quit 15 years ago. Sadly I have COPD as a result so try and stick to quitting!

Good morning Renea, Could you show us sometime how you recoat your cast iron, please?
Absolutely.
Wonderful! Yummy!❤🎉
I'm with you regarding people not scraping the pan. I will say out loud that they are wasting food. 😛
Good morning…I really enjoyed your live chat last night ❤
Good morning and we are so glad you liked it.
I make meatloaf burgers too! I fry mine like burgers in cast iron. My hubby loves them. 😊
That also makes me crazy, I was raised to scrape everything clean. They don’t scrap cans. Pans or bowls. Makes me nuts.
That meal deserved to be served on pretty china not paper plates! Looks delicious,.

no, it is very small chunks.
Poor guy... can't have a request fulfilled... couldn't you put some bacon in his half of the pan? ;)
