    Does anyone else think Freddie looks like Captain Jack Sparrow or is it just me? LOL! Put the Captain Jack Sparrow costume on him and I think he's a carbon copy of Johnny Depp wearing the same Captain Jack Sparrow costume! Even his demeaner and movements are almost just like him.

      Haha - not the first time it's been said :) There's worse characters to look like I guess!

      @@FredzGolf I meant it as a compliment, 100%. Captain Jack sparrow is definitely one of my favorite characters of all time.

    I have always had lighter shafts in my irons and I get exceptional distance from my longer iron’s especially

      Nice! When you find something that works its awesome ...I want people to get to a "point and shoot" mechanism with their sticks, then you can get on with scoring as best as possible :)

    People who have they own natural swing speed are not affected by the shaft weight, or at least a very little. I have found out that the lighter shafts are much more difficult to keep in a "plane" than the heavier one. Perhaps it has no effect on professionals but a common weekend hacker is easily confused particularly with lighter shafts in golf drivers! Don't forget that the club momentum is its MASS times its VELOCITY SQUARE. This vlog proves that within, a reason, the natural swing speed is retained with different shaft weights!

      I think people will react differently and like you say there may be very little difference at the top end of swing speed (pro's)
      I like you're comment on the plane, badminton racket vs sledgehammer, the sledgehammer is harder to manipulate and the badminton racket can go anywhere you tell it to (different to a golf club but I like to expand the idea to understand the theory)
      Sometimes you can put a lighter shaft in a club like a driver after the fact and make the head feel heavier as the swingweight changes so a lighter shaft and matched SW or lighter swingweight at the same time could improve potential speed!

    I always had lighter shafts, not by choice, but with my swing speed it had to all be in sync or I would hook the ball. I went from 76 gram regular to 110 stiff iron shafts and ball flight is completely different and I didn’t lose any yardage. Also went a little bit more weight on a different driver shaft.

      Perfect! Yes, I've found that lighter/softer shafts can go left on you if you have more pace than they are made for ....Some people think they slice more but can't prove it :) ...you might enjoy this one: ruclips.net/video/kx-6S1BnpWk/видео.html

    Depends on the person. I've seen disastrous results from swing weight being too light but have also seen golfers quit the round when swing weight is too heavy. When you step up to a 160 yd shot over water and didn't bring food and you're out of breath because it's the 15th hole, it can be brutal. I think medium and fast swing speed players can do whatever they want. They have options. Slow swing speed players need to really focus on getting enough height and consistency on long clubs.

      Most of us senior players (I'm 73) really benefit from lighter shafts especially in our drivers. Way less tension and stress on older bodies! As you said, depends on the person and age is definitely a factor when discussing swing weight.

    I too find that I CANNOT deliver an accurate swing with weights in the mid c's and lower. (The bottom of the swing arc is different EVERY TIME, side to side AND front to back). I proved this to myself when I bought 4 TaylorMade FCT (White Head) Rescues with 65 gram Aldila RIP shafts. They were erratic & unusable for me. I then bought the IDENTICLE HEAD clubs with the 85 gram Aldila RIP TP shafts. Problem solved. It must be mentioned that I put JUMBO grips on all before hitting which DECREASES factory swingwieght as you are adding mass to the grip end. In any event, I needed the heavier shafts in the clubs to make them work for me (I now own a swingweight scale). Whether we are a "TINKERER" or just putting together BRAND AGNOSTIC eclectic sets we don't pay enough attention to SWINGWEIGHT thru the set, so thanks for doing this series. I would love to see more on this topic.

    Really interesting video!! Just had my clubs swing weights done and they are so different.. 4 wood is D6, my 7wood is at C8/9 and irons are D2. is there any issues having a really light swing weight if you have a lot of club head speed? also should I look to get all my irons matched to my 7 wood as its my favourite club in the bag by a mile!

    • @FredzGolf
      @FredzGolf  2 месяца назад +1

      Oooh interesting ...Yes, bit of a mixed bag there ...The swingweights would normally blend heavier at the wedges and lighter at the woods
      Factory swingweights normally in the D4 wedges, D2/3 Irons, D2/1 Woods but opinions within brands vary
      It's harder to bring a swingweight down, short of drilling holes in your irons externally or removing shafts and drilling material out of the neck with a smaller bore hole past the hosel line
      As I say that, you could counterweight with heavier grips or counterweight plugs
      If you're enjoying the 7w, It's not a bad idea to match or go C9/D0 so you know that's all a continuation.
      Has the 4w got an adjustable weight at all?
      You can get on with the rest of the difficulties in golf then :) Takes away the doubt in the clubs

      Yes indeed! Counterbalance - allows them to have more mass in the head at the same swingweight :) forgiveness and power

    Can you please enlighten; progresively heavier weight from wedge to driver or the opposite? Thanks

    • @FredzGolf
      @FredzGolf  7 месяцев назад +2

      If you look at any model of clubs on Google and go for *that model (then) specs" and go to images ....you'll see the swingweight
      Look at wedges, they are D4/D5+/- ....irons D3+/- woods D2+/-
      It'll vary from brand to brand and model to model ....sometimes the draw bias woods are built lighter and the "Tour" models are built heavier
      Heavier wedges for consistency, lighter woods for speed
