Tangentally related but I think Liko's getting Hattena to open up is going to make its evolved forms more friendly. Because its used to the strong emotions so less liable to murder someone over them like Hatterene is normally known to do.
I think Liko catching her first pokemon is way too important for a 6/10. This was an awesome episode for Liko. I think they made a pretty good job establishing Liko and hattena's connection. And hattena seems like a perfect pokemon for her. They even managed to give some screentime to all the rising volt tacklers.I would've give it a 9/10. Also, this episode makes Anne even more suspicious.
The importance of an episode has no impact on the way I rate it. An irrelevant filler episode can be a 10, and the climax of an entire series can be a 1, it really doesn't matter to me at all

It may not have a scene like Liko jumping from a cliff to save hattena after running away from a pokemon three times her size but I think it was a pretty nice episode.
Liko is a character who reargued about the relationship between a trainer and a Pokémon. Especially when we comparing this episode to how Goh getting his Pokémon. It’s not about a human catching pets to fill one’s Pokédex. But a trainer inviting someone to join the team. Her empathy strengthens their bounds and eventually becomes the power to move forward.
This EP was SO Sweet to the Hype of Liko finally catching her 1st Pokemon in Hatenna!! It also did well in helping lift Liko up: even though she doesn't know her trainer-path yet, she has found in her that she's good at being receptive to the feelings of others; both people & Pokemon {and reaffirms she Will find her path as long as she goes forward with pokemon}. And Liko will find her path with Sprigatito (who likes cardboard boxes like real-life cats) & now her shy Hatenna (although it appears for some reason Hatenna is okay being around Noctowl; perhaps the reason might be because due to Hatenna being strongly receptive to emotions, it was fine around Noctowl because out of most of the public pokemon on the Brave Asagi, Noctowl is the most calm and composed one for her to be okay & be around with. I do hope in the future that for Liko to help train Hatenna, both of them could get psychic-training from Orla & Metagross)
Feelings... So thats make that maybe Like Will be catch Ralts or Kirlia AND evolve into Gardevoir, because Ralts AND His family evolution aré knowing that can receptive the Feelings Especially with His Trainer, thats make the perfect pokemon for Liko. Also i have the feeling Her path Will be a somekind of máster Pokémon, like Ash, because be a máster Pokémon it's know the Feelings AND be Friend with all Pokémon AND it's gonna be the future path of Liko.
Liko's got that Disney princess trait when caring for Pokemon - I adore that! Also, it'd be pretty cool if Liko's entire team were to always travel with her freely, that is outside the pokeball. Though I guess it'd be a while until Liko catches her next Pokemon. Anyways, I've got to catch up too, so see ya!

It’s an Hatenna at that, I have always wanted to see an Hatenna and it’s Line as an Main Character of some kind, so I appreciate Liko catching it, I wonder if it and Sprigatito will Evolve at some point? What do you think? How will Liko’s Team turn out and when do you think would be a proper timing for any of the Main Pokémon to Evolve?

I love the little Friede moments where he is embarrassed. Like here with the comparison the kids didn't get or when he goes all professor and the kids wander off. It just shows that even though he is the cool professor he is still an adult and I love that they showcase the difference!
Standing ovation moment when Liko caught Hatenna 😁 thanks to Sprigatito giving Hatenna the sales pitch, lol. Around 7/10 for me. Another wholesome episode with a shocking end. Amethio is playing a dangerous game...I don't think a mobster has successfully defied their bosses since Gotti, so he's treading in hazardous turf (I like to compare some villainous teams to the Mob). Zir and Conia sticking with him, despite getting the option not to, was a nice touch though.
I'm hoping they at least post the first 17 episodes when the time comes, which I think will be in December or January. That's as big an episode dump as I've seen from them. So yeah we won't get this til at least next May unfortunately.
Given how it's constantly picking up strong emotions,good and bad,hatenna really belongs with a trainer who's *calm as a candle* like liko.(totally not an elemental reference) Someone said riolu would be a good choice for liko's team since it can sense emotions through aura,and I wouldn't mind liko having a lucario but I think it's gonna rub some people the wrong way because ash recently owned one. Do I think it's a great capture episode? Not really, they're are some better captures. I'm giving this episode an 8/10, liko's first capture was well worth it.
It would be pretty easy to make a potential Liko Lucario different than Ash's, but I get what you mean. There are probably other Pokémon who could fulfill similar roles, that would come without the baggage of being another Lucario
Honestly I want Roy to have a lucario because I would want both liko and Roy to be aura guardians with a deep dive on all things aura guardians and sprigatito finale evo can learn aura sphere so it just makes sense for Roy to get lucario. Also I want a female aura guardian all of ash era aura guardians were male 1 even had a pikachu so definitely want to know more about them. Also think dot might be able to see the future with the drawings she makes because they are stuff that hasn’t happened yet.

I guess I can sorta understand how it'd rub people the wrong way with Ash & the Aura Pokemon. Many had been wanting him to have that pokemon for so long that people kept that pairing for him before he even got one. I guess it'd be just nice though to make Liko more distinct than Ash with her team

As earlier stated Silvally's Japanese name is Silvuddy (named combo of Silver & Buddy); I think the Subtitlers were just trying to make it rhyme in the EngSubs as Nakayoshi in japanese means buddy or chum

He crashed out early against Alex (Pikapapow) and then ran the table in the loser's bracket. No one else survived nearly as long in the tense environment that is the loser's bracket. I think he won something like 7 sets in a row, which is crazy. Bea's team was loaded
