This is a genuine gift to the pokemon community and the most incredible love letter to the first games. You can tell how much care and love and attention went into every scene. Be proud, this is something truly incredible
Im not even going to lie, im tearing up watching this. I was born in 1995 and grew up with the 1st gen games. My parents separated when i was young and Pokemon was my comfort blanket. Like most reading this, i spent many hours getting lost in the Kanto region. To hear the game sounds and to see the similar experiences through actual animation, is both nostalgic and euphoric. Pedro you have really done an excellent job in capturing the whole journey here! I know It doesnt mean much but youve just earned a new sub! I would love to see a Johto story one day. Keep up the great work and thankyou for this. To summarise, youve replenished my adulthood with memories from my childhood. Truly wonderful. ❤
Can we all appreciate how Pedro corrected the end of the battle vs Blue: Instead of Oak telling his grandson he’s disappointed, he embraces him and tells him he’s proud :)
The context behind it is that Blue was treating his pokemon as a tool to reach his goals instead of treating them with care and love. Oak isn't disapppinted in his grandson for failing to win, he simply expected Blue to be better with his Pokémon.
And Blue's sister pulling him out of his depression reminding him of the legacy he has to live up to and to keep his chin up and where to go next?? And Red giving away Nidoking after saying goodbye 😭
I found this today and wow. I have never felt so strong over an animation before, heck ive barely felt these feelings in a regular movie. You have done such an amazing job conveying love, pain, ambition, depression, anxiety, loneliness, etc. The gym members being actual people and not just places you go to win a badge, and people that followed and celebrated with Red till the end. The rivalry showing depth not just Blue being obnoxious. Misty and Reds relationship, Red taking Green under his wing and watching the small budding rivalry there. Thank you for gifting us this absolute masterpiece.
I love how blue isn't just a jerk, he's an actual person that gets put in a bad lighting in the games but instead of oak being a bad grandpa he tells him that he's proud. I love that, so much
Not only did this capture our experience as kids playing this game, but it filled in all the holes that was left to our imagination. Red and Misty's romance (finally!!), the relationship with each gym leader (especially the PTSD arc with Surge, wow), Red and Blue's history (particularly raticate's story had me BAWLING), and the arc of Giovanni was PERFECTION. Hats off to you, and thank you!!
This was absolutely incredible. You showed several complete story arcs (including some that aren't even part of the games) with no actual dialogue whatsoever. I loved all the little references to the games, including the fun glitches and stuff. Despite the fact it's almost 3.5 hours long, I sat through the whole thing in one go and was never bored. Well done, man. Your hard work paid off!
It even seems slightly inspired by the manga (in there, Misty likes Red and helps him sometimes. Also, manga was Green's first appearance, where she stole the one of the three Pokemon and had also been kidnapped in her childhood)
This, this hit me hard. Seeing red start off on his journey just like we did. You show though animation what we felt thought-out our journey and made it so more can experience it. The charizard moment in red rocket's hide out had me shocked and laughing with glee! There is too many moments to name, the whole movie is perfectly done! You made made us laugh and cry thought-out this amazing piece of work you have given us....i want to show some appreciation for all your hard work and making this beautiful piece of wonderful art thank you so much!
I'm glad I was able to have made you feel too many good emotions! I hope I can make the gold series be as good as this one when its completed! Thanks very much for the support, ou have no idea how much this helps!
@@PedroAraujoStudio so just wondering this is probably so hard to make and the amount of crap it took to make this is absolutely insane. just wondering how long were you working on this project? And was it just you who made it? and if there were other people link there channels and ill subscribe cause this was a long journey. And got to love the pac-man reference in the pokemon centers.
seriously dude i know i totaly look the full video normaly is rare i look long video like that but that one FR is amazing that prouve red is truly the the master pokemon trainer and yeah like u say in the hide out of the team rocket at 1:11:39 that be a insane moment and be goku scream to ahahha
Masterpiece. These last few years I feel like I’ve been on auto pilot adulting and what not. This made me feel what I forgot what was there. Thank you for this.
The details and dedication on this animation is insane the chase after mew is exactly how you get mew in actual games if you fly away from the gambler beat the slowpoke guy near bills house and go back to nugget bride after flying/teleporting back to the pokecenter the menu will open automatically and if you close it you will battle mew. And what's more insane is the mew is lvl 7 and you get mew at lvl 7 if you do these things which is insane how he put the time and effort to put these in
I never could’ve imagined during my childhood playing this legendary game that someone could bring such a prominent yet seemingly simple story to life like Pedro did with this animation. No prior movie, show or play that I have witnessed made me go through such an emotional rollercoaster this masterpiece put me through. From nostalgia to sorrow to reminiscence to anger to sheer and utter goosebumps could I have imagined that a RUclips film about my favorite childhood franchise could be brought to life in such epic capacity. You good sir, are a fucking legend. I’m assuming that Gold’s full story will be next, but before you embark on that journey, thank you. This was a treat for the ages.
I couldn't say it any better than you. The feel behind each journey throughout each region is how we all feel. Like you said, this animated movie encapsulates all of the emotions
Except it's a fan made theory and nothing proven. That Raticate is more likely to be in a box or freed for better mons (knowing how was Blue at the time), as later Blue admits he went to Lavender Tower to catch mons. But honestly it added more deep to the story that i liked it anyway :D
@@sasuke65743 Regardless I find this to be a much better framing of the theory. Like in most interpretations they paint Red to be a monster, rather than a decent human being.
If somebody ever told me I'd be brought to tears by blue's raticate death and other pokemon red related stuff I'd have told them they are crazy. But this has happened here. Thanks for this movie, I have no words to describe how I feel about the masterpiece I've just seen.
don´t hold your breath for something like this, the Pokemon Company is no longer aiming to please their old fanbase, they know that most of us are in our mid 20ths to mid 30ths and we are already grown up adults with things to do with our lives so they are aiming to the kids who have hardly anything to do this days. I´m telling you if I was a 10 year old right now I would have A LOT of free time. If I had Chat GPT and the modern internet I would have all my homeworks done in less than an hour and the rest of the day I would be chillin playing video games. My nephew gets home from school, makes his homework quickly with Chat GPT while his mom makes lunch and the rest of the day he does NOTHING but play video games. The Pokemon Company knows kids have way more free time now and that´s the fan base they are aiming for, not us "the oldies with busy lives". Also after the older fans called out the Pokemon Company for how unfinished Scarlet and Violet were, we are not held in the best regards by the Pokemon Company because now they know e are not forgiving them so easily
Rewatched this a lot lately, and a few random observations I've made in said rewatches, and also just various things I didn't comment on the first time that I absolutely loved: 1: I thought the swamp during the Sabrina battles was so random and strange, until I realized- it's a marsh. She gives the Marsh Badge. 2: Green and Erika are totally a couple, aren't they? I didn't see it at first, but once I saw it I started shipping it so hard. 3: This one I noticed from the very first time I watched, but I never commented on it- I love how the item obtained jingle plays and sounds so off and wrong when Giovanni obtains the Master Ball. It's the tiniest friggin' detail but it's just so cool to me. 4: Viridian Gym in its entirety. Giovanni and Red upping the stakes on the Gym battle, with Red staking all of his other badges on this, and Giovanni responding by staking the future of Team Rocket on it. Red sending out Mew and just validating Giovanni's claims all along. Mew healing Nidoking's eye. Giovanni pointing out everyone Red's got on his side, all the friends he's made, only for Red to point out that Giovanni's got that too, in Team Rocket, in everyone who follows him so loyally. Mew's head spinning as it's watching the Seismic Toss. Rhydon narrowly beating Charizard only for Mew to come in and land the finishing blow. Gotta Catch 'Em All playing after the battle. I friggin' love it. 5: Taking the small detail of Daisy being the one who gives you the Town Map and expanding that into her _making_ the maps. That was just a really nice touch. 6: Misty's Squirtle wiping out Green's Venusaur and Electabuzz with Ice Beam and Dig respectively. That might not seem like much, but I've always been one to appreciate the type coverage the Squirtle line got in Gen 1, and I tend to think Squirtle is the best starter to pick in Gen 1 because it can actually cover all its weaknesses. 7: I don't think I can say enough good about the Raticate arc. To take a morbid fan theory and animate it and the consequences thereof, and have it just keep coming back throughout, I respect it. As soon as the music changed and Raticate was sent out I had a bad feeling. That whole scene- Blue trying and failing to withdraw Raticate, Red getting the captain to help, Poliwrath's sad cry and shaking of the head... Then Red getting flashbacks during the Surge battle and switching out Nidoking even though he was the blatantly correct choice for the battle, only to be forced to bring him back out later, and Surge just absolutely getting it from his own experiences in the war, and them bonding over it... Nidoking getting left at Oak's, only for Bill to hack into Red's storage to get it back out during Silph Co., and Nidoking saving Blue and redeeming himself... and not to mention the white hand on Red's shoulder belonging to Raticate's ghost! And Raticate forgiving Red, passing peacefully into the afterlife along with Marowak... You, sir, have a gift for this kind of thing. I have called this a masterpiece in the past, which is why I am going to call it a masterpiece again now, because this is a damn masterpiece.
Words fully don't express how amazing this was. The story I knew along with the story I didn't know I wanted. I was prepared for a fun little nostalgia trip; instead I got taken on one of the most amazing roller coaster of emotions. You gave Blue a satisfying backstory, made me cry for a Raticate, laugh with glee for Lt. Surge montages, provide closure with the Misty canon. The animation was both charming and excellently done. The added references made it even more genuine. This is just a minor pittance to how much I feel this video is worth. For the amount of times I will be coming back to watch, it is worth it 10x over. Bravo, Sir.
Ok but like, why kill Raticate? Wouldn't just whooping Gary's ass repeatedly be enough to drive him to want to get revenge on Red? This thing got real dark, REAL fast.
@@drewg4323this might already be part of the lore. Between the battle in the ship and the one in the pokemon tower, blue does not have his raticate anymore. Further, he tells Red in the pokemon tower "why are you here ? Your pokemons aren't dead", possibly meaning that one of his pokemon IS actually dead
At first, I thought this is just an ordinary video. But I quickly realized I had stumbled upon a an absolute GEM! Masterful artwork and storytelling Pedro!! Especially the Raticate art and seeing Red and Blue navigate their trauma until eventually they both persevere and keep moving forward. This is true animation. This is art. This is more than just copying Pokemon. Your twist to the original recipe completely overdelivers on every front and I am loving every second!!!
@@PedroAraujoStudio thank you man I must’ve watched this 3 times in full in the two weeks it’s been out. Gives me chills reminds me of Christmas morning ‘97 and watching the show 5 days a week after school. You did phenomenal and cannot wait for the whole G/S/C entry in this. Glad you got the love you earned
@@MechaKnuckles there's no guesswork here. Giovanni lived to dedicate his life to researching pokemon and becoming a stronger trainer. You see this in Heartgold/Soulsilver with the Celebi event and then B2W2 PWT
Honestly, I can't help but have the absolute highest of respect for this. You put in a lot of work, not for profit or money, but for the love of Pokémon. Legit starting to tear up from just the idea that someone did all this. All the power to you ✊️
Holy hell the arc between cerulean and vermillion was insanely good. It actually made me tear up a bit. Going from Red being so happy with his time with Misty to suffering from PTSD due to the accident with raticate and the camaraderie from LT. Surge of all people that helped him on the path to healing. Absolutely, this was the tribute to Pokémon that we did not deserve.
I’ve gotten further along now and…just wow. So many awesome scenes, cameos, and just so much love put into this. I consider this to be on par with team 4 star in terms of fan-made cannon stories. You have truly created a masterpiece. I also want to add that the lack of dialogue REALLY enhances the storytelling. It was an excellent choice.
I have no words…this is damn near exactly how I imagined Red’s story in my head as a kid while playing. Also, the Super Saiyan 3 homage when Charmeleon evolved into Charizard? Absolute perfection
@@CHUCKD3EIn the game during the SS Anne fight Gary/Blue has a Raticate, but in the next fight at Pokémon Tower (the Pokémon graveyard where Gary/Blue is standing in front of gravestones), he doesn’t have a Raticate anymore, so a popular fan theory is that his Raticate died in a fight with the player
You definitely made me want to make a story like this myself. Just not with Red, but with someone in his place. I'll be sure to follow your Gen 2 animations. I love them.
44:35 when "Brother my Brother" started playing I had to pause the video and go shed some tears, man the nostalgia hits SO hard. I was 9 when I saw the movie for the first time and I am currently feeling all the feelings I did back then. 😭😭
I turned 28 years old on the 24th of May. Ive been working 60 hours a week for the past 2 years not being able to partake in the simple hobbies I’ve always enjoyed throughout my life. You sir, Pedro Araujo have single handedly inspired me to return to Pokémon, the one game franchise I’ve always loved no matter how young or old I am. Thank you doesn’t do this Justice but I hope you know how much this means to me and everyone else who’ve been lucky enough to find this video on your channel. Dios te bendiga y cuídate caballero 🙏🏼muchas gracias por su trabajo bien hecho
Had this in my “watch later” collection for months. Finally sat down and saw it. Cannot believe what I was missing out on. So many memorable moments in this: the Misty x Red subplot, Sabrina’s redemption arch, LT surge’s backstory, Giovanni actually being given a motivation and being made sympathetic. This entire animation was absolutely carried by the outstanding storytelling! Will definitely watch whatever else you put out! Can’t praise this enough for the story!
I love that Green was included as a junior trainer that Red could mentor. It encapsulates the social aspect of playing the games and sharing insights and experience with younger siblings and friends who were later to begin their journey ❤
Thank you very much for the huge support and for the feedback. I will do my best to keep bringing quality content to you all! I'm starting to work on Blue's poibt of view of this story =) part 3 saturday, I hope you enjoy it too
I just had to pause 8 minutes in say this is bringing tears to my eyes. I've played through Red, Blue, and Yellow more times than I can count. Even though I play all the Pokemon games to this day, I keep coming back to Red because of how special and formative it is for me as a person. I wouldn't be the person I am today without these games. This beautiful animation is reminding me of how thankful I am for these experiences growing up, and recaptures the awe, wonder, and joy of experiencing the world of Pokemon for the first time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this. 🖤
Dear Pedro, I can’t think of any adjectives to describe how good your animations are. Pokemon Gen I and II have always been my favourite and the amount of the nostalgia I felt while watching the video is indescribable. It made me remember my early teenage years where I played red and crystal so many times that I could replay the entire game, including sound effects and dialogue in my mind just before I slept every night, dreaming of battling Red on Mount Silver. Once again, thank you for making this amazing video and thank you for your hard work. I wish you a healthy and happy life. Sincerely, Ishan
Thank you for the kind words Ishan! I wish you the best as well! Gen 1 and 2 are the best, as Gen 2 conclued the journey and was suppose to be the end of the franchise. Gen 2 will come and I hope I can bring the same quality to you all!!
This whole film is amazing. Every gym leader had such character around them. They felt real, and personal. Surge absolutely blew me away. Taking a couple lines and turning it into a whole untold story about coping with grief and overcoming tragedy...just beautiful!
I actually hated that part, im more of a Bills PC theory kinda guy, never understood why people think Raticate died. Appreciate the reference though i guess. I wonder if the plot to murder Erika is in it now too.
@@D3sdinova To be perfectly fair, it's basically the most popular theory in the series. It was done incredibly well here, genuinely made me feel something; that's an impressive feat! Love and Peace folks.
The animation is great, but what really astounded me was your attention to detail concerning every event (and in some cases, implied fantheory) of the Gen 1 pokemon games. Absolutely amazing.
the unspoken details that only people who played and replayed this game over and over would understand are so good. The animation is speaking a language that only people who have those experiences understand. Amazing
This was brilliant. The best telling of the whole story I've seen. I'm in ny thirties. I put this on as background noise while i cleaned my flat. I have not moved from the couch the entire time it played. Legitimately felt the excitement i felt for Pokémon as a child from this, the feeling that replaying the games doss not bring because we grow and change. Great work!
The LT. Surge part still hits me all this time later. I am so glad I watched this all from start to finish all over again. Nidoking sure comes through versus Lance. It's such a nice payoff. Really makes me appreciate the trip we had all through this journey! Thank you so much for this series, Pedro!
Dude, I'm Brazilian but I loved your animation even though I didn't understand anything about the text. The story you tell through this animation goes beyond just Pokémon battles, it tells the point of view of each one, and shows that this goes far beyond just getting the eight badges and winning the Pokémon League, the characters have feelings and emotions. Seriously man, this animation was VERY GOOD, it conveyed the true essence of Pokémon and also a very strong feeling of nostalgia. May GOD bless your life.
This was one of the greatest productions of Pokémon I’ve ever seen. This deserves all the awards and all of the accolades. Pedro for primary storyboard artist for all of my favorite series
Jip. I Love it so far as well. Brings back memories of childhood. :D. But one detail doesn’t make sense to me: How can charmanda beat onyx sooo easily with his fireattack ? in the game you have to be either on a very damn high level or catch/develope a butterfree.
Pedro, I must admit that you did a good job with this series. Especially with the characters, like Red and Blue, how they come into conflict to learn from each other. But not only them, I also liked the others. -Leaf : Being a girl who had to learn the hard way so that she understands that she must try harder to improve as a trainer and in the end she was able to find another way to learn about pokemon. -Prof.Oak and Giovanni: Their history as rivals that caused a great series of events to make more sense of their motives and how they ended up fixing their problems. -Daisy: Having a more active role than just giving a map, with a role as cartographer and helping from time to time -Red's Mom: Yes, she didn't do much, she was fine with MVP, that is, supporting Red and the rest of the characters, more than anything with Leaf receiving her from her house and encouraging her when she felt bad about not being a trainer competent. -The Gym Leaders: Brock, although he didn't interact much if he could teach some useful things. Misty was very helpful and also her girlfriend with Red. L.T Surge who helped Red overcome the trauma of Raticate, and yes, their training sessions that made them feel stronger. Erika helping Leaf to let go of her past with Team Rocket. Koga teaching more efficient techniques to capture his past that he wanted to be part of the Elite Four. Sabrina with the problem with her power that made her walk away from the world but in the end she regained her contact with people. Blaine who was with Team Rocket but who didn't do the right thing had a chance to redeem himself.
@@PedroAraujoStudio But I would have liked Bill to have more interaction, since he helped Daisy with the Sevii Islands so that we would have a reference to the Adventures manga
What an absolute masterpiece. I loved the expansion of the character backstories, the implementation of popular fan canon, and the goofy references to various bugs/glitches. Completely worth every second spent watching!
I had to pause the movie at certain points as some of the nostalgia was overwhelming. Watching this movie was one of the best experiences I've had in a very long time. Thank you for this incredible love letter to our childhoods!!!
I honestly remember picking up my first copy of Pokemon FireRed as a kid and I can say that you didn't just animate the game we all played you animated the entire Pokemon experience fans of the games had when starting their journeys. This animation is magnificent.
@@Antonio-ej8wp I understand that the animation is a adaptation of red/blue along with some theories about what happened in the games When watching the animation it reminds me of when I would constantly play FireRed as a kid because the first pokemon experience is something you could never forget.
you know you did a amazing job, not only did you make a show about the game we played but you made it with the show we watched mixed in it. This is a masterpiece if i have to say! The game and the show combined, amazing so creative, made me laugh, cry, excited for whats next, so many emotions. Hope to see more of your work :) THIS DESERVES A AWARD!!
this was a masterpiece. 3.5 hours of animation is insane you didnt waste a second of it. each frame was wonderfully done, and the fact that you can portray such a wonderful story without needed any voice overs is phenomenal. i would be happy to wait another two years to watch Gold's story.
I can't believe I sat through 3 hrs. of fanmade animation, but here we are. I love how everyone had in-depth backstories, and I even rooted for Giovanni at one point! I wouldn't mind throwing money if there's a Kickstarter campaign to animate this properly!
The way they silently had Giovanni accusing Red of having all this help behind him and he has noone, and Red just somehow replying, "Oh? Alone? Look around you." and the whole crowd of Team Rocket is cheering him on, that was amazing, even though he lost, he fought to the end.
I am in complete awe. This is the Pokémon content the fanbase has been waiting for for over 25 years. The arc with Blue’s Raticate is as creative as it is deep; the twist with the White Hand being the Raticate’s is especially profound. Masterful job - cheers to you, Pedro!
The Raticate Arc is based on a theory that was put I think on Tumblr a very long time ago that because Blue's Raticate stopped being used in battle after the ship, the reason was because you killed his Raticate. The next place you encounter him is Lavender Tower where he tells you how you've never experienced the loss of a pokemon, implying he has. And to top it all off, you have the love of his own grandfather more than he does, considering he can't even remember his name.
@@db9944 if I remember correctly, Raticate is the only Pokemon that he doesn't keep. Which is weird, because he keeps every other until the end. No wonder many people believe it's dead.
I love all the little moments of personality in this. Gary's sister teasing Red, the gym leaders taking him under their wings, camping with trainers on a route and sharing stories. It's such a great little adventure that really captures how your mind filled in the gaps of the story as a kid. Thanks so much for this!
This film captures so well the growth story players experience in Pokémon, watching your team evolve, remembering rough spots overcome together, all culminating when you see your own lineup in the hall of fame… the emotion is indescribable, and Pedro’s film hit the mark like a bullseye. The love for the Pokémon games is blatantly evident in every frame. I actually cried when you even inserted the long-distance trainer glitch that allows Red to catch Mew. And very creative to have relegated the Missingno cameo to a bad dream. Thank you for this gem.
I can't say much...other than Thank you, Thank you for this masterpiece. This movie... not a god tier animation, not even a single dialogue, but still conveys the feelings, the emotion, the stress, the experience of being a pokemon trainer. This movie alone is better than 90% of cinema. The best story, I like how you didn't stick to the original game...but took inspirations from it and added depth to it. I would never forget the evolution of Charmeleon to Charizard in my entire life, how you gave a reason for Giovanni to be a villian, added layers to the story of Daisy, Misty, Prof. Oak, and many other characters. I am out of words to convey what I feel, but this was such a great experience. Such a masterpiece. Thank you very much
I cried multiple times. I think I felt every human emotion while watching this, including some I don't have names for. You brought more depth and nuance to these characters and their relationships than we ever see in most commercially produced shows or films.
This is the first time I've ever turned notifications on for an upcoming video. This is going to be epic! Thank you for all the effort and love you have for this franchise into what is one of the most unique Pokémon projects I have ever seen!
@@PedroAraujoStudio you should absolutely get hired to make pokemon I remember when your channel was young I stumbled upon it by accident in 2020 looking up pokemon red romhack in search when you did episode 2
Thank you, it's videos and other things like this that remind me of why I play pokemon and love it so dearly. No matter what gimmicks they add or what pokemon are in the games. I will always love this series, as many others will. I was hooked for every second feeling chills, tears, and triumph just watching it. This video made me feel like a kid again, and once again i have to thank you for making this. God bless you and keep on training!
I love how Red brings Blue to his champion press conference. Not just to be kind to his friend, but because we’ve seen that the media attention makes him nervous when he’s on his own, and Blue loves the spotlight
I really appreciate the fun little absurdities like stuffing the fishing rod into the backpack (with Lt. Surge looking on with a face full of disbelief) and Doduo flying.
You have truly given the community something to treasure. Thanks for letting us all relive our childhood and see these amazing animations. You truly captured the spirit of the games, and adding just enough of yourself to keep it interesting. Amazing work Pedro ♥ Looking forward to the Gen 2 series!
been binging this since I found your channel 2 days ago. It was a beautiful work of art, bursting with love, care, attention to detail, nostalgia, and most impressively, telling such an intricate story and entire conversations through SHOW rather than TELL, with literally zero dialogue. You, good sir, are a Storytelling Master. You've more than earned my sub and all the likes I can give.
This is one of the best Pokémon fan animations I’ve ever seen. The story changes took me by surprised in a good way, the animation is pretty great for a 3 hour animation, just everything shines with this video.
Stumbled on this by accident Lucky find This is absolutely incredible I was not expecting a feature length animated film interpreting a beloved part of my childhood
This is, quite possibly, the greatest piece of pokemon content that has ever been produced. I'm simply in awe of your ability to weave this masterpiece of a video without a single line of spoken dialogue. You captured exactly how the kid version of me felt playing the games for the very first time. At a time when it feels like the pokemon company isn't doing the series justice, it touches my heart to see a truly inspired work of art like this one. Thank you so much for this. It was everything I never knew I needed.
You did not have to go this hard but you did. I’m absolutely enthralled by everything you did. Thank you for allowing me to some of my greatest childhood memories better than ever.
There are no words in any mortal tongue to describe the absolute Perfection you have created. Just. Damn. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that was 3 and a half hours I will never regret spending watching something.
I sat down to watch this thinking I would just watch a little bit but I couldn't help but binge the entire thing. Wow. I'm at a loss for words brother, this is just stupendous work. How you deal with the loss of Blue's Raticate, the trauma this causes for both Red and Blue, and how you wrap up that arc in Lavander Town. Absolute master class of storytelling. How you put in the romance between Misty and Red in an organic fashion (I absolutely love the idea that Red is the guy we see Misty going on dates with at Cerulean Cape in GSC, and I love how you fit in how that place is special for them by having them almost have their first kiss there). How you incorporate Leaf/Green into the story, how you fill in all the gaps about Giovanni, Blaine, and Mr. Fuji's relationship with Mewtwo. I mean wow, you understand the story of Kanto to every last detail and go beyond the vision of the game developers (I also love how you incorporate the Pokemon Journals you can find in FRLG). Also how you handle the severity of Team Rocket's abuse/selling of Pokemon (that little mini arc the one Rocket Grunt had after seeing Cubone really got me). That Sabrina gym battle could really be its own anime arc, my god that was just truly genius how you captured that battle between both Pokemon and trainer. And all without a word of dialog. I wish I was in a financial position to support you cause you deserve everything. I hope one day Nintendo recognizes you for your effort and gives you a job in an official capacity. Yet even if they are too blind to see the potential here, I'm glad you have given us this. I got choked up so many times watching this series brother, it means a lot to me to see this. Your blend of comedy and drama is something some professional screenwriters don't even have the ability to capture. I have no real criticism to add, I'm sure you know your shortcomings far better than me anyways. Thank you for your hard work! Can't wait to see what you do next!
This fan-made Pokémon film is incredibly well-crafted. The inclusion of cameos ranging from Dragon Ball Z and Jurassic Park to The Shining and The Ring was a delightful surprise. The sheer amount of time and effort put into this project is astounding. I was thoroughly entertained by everything, especially Misty's love story and the subtle nod to her mysterious lover (Red), as well as Blaine's original manga backstory as a Team Rocket member. The way over twenty years' worth of content was seamlessly integrated into a single video is a testament to the creators' dedication and understanding of Pokémon lore. The execution was smooth and impressive, capturing the essence of the Pokémon world while paying homage to its roots. I'm eagerly anticipating the continuation of this journey through Johto. The storyline involving Misty was particularly moving. It provided a refreshing take compared to the original series, where Ash often suppresses his feelings, leaving Misty's affection unreciprocated. This film revives that neglected storyline, bringing a much-appreciated depth to their relationship. Overall, this film struck a chord of nostalgia, brilliantly catering to long-time Pokémon fans. Again, thank you for this video. 10/10❤
Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm glad to read such a feedback, and acknowledging that all the time working on it brought so many good memories. Also, I'm really really grateful for the huge support! It helps me a lot to keep things going! I'm doing my best on johto series, and I hope to be able to make a golden conclusion when it comes to the final fight of red vs gold!
the crucial difference in the ship department is that ash is STILL only 10 [by the end of journey's, at least] so he's probably content with beign single despite all the people mass shipping him, and Red and Misty must be about at least 13 or something in the pedro araujo -verse in the video.
I love how, by the time we get to Silph Co., it's not even about the games anymore. It's basically just its own anime. I can tell the animator got a little carried away with the story at this point. LOL
Dude, this is literally gold, the mechanics, interpretations, logic, lore, details, a great plot, a great ending, not like the original game that everything is almost always very dry but this animation makes the game a roller coaster of emotions. Pedro Araujo you are one of the best.
It's been a privilege to watch this project develop over these years, ever since your Red vs. Gold project. I've enjoyed this series so much, and while it's sad to see that it's over I don't doubt that you must feel incredible, knowing you've created something that millions of Pokemon fans worldwide can watch and enjoy. Seriously, Pedro, thank you so much for recreating the best part of my childhood, bit by bit. It's been an incredible experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you. ❤️
You animated the game we experienced and for 3:26h you put me back in time. Back when I played pokemon for the first time. Thank you so much for your hard work!
I was suprised at sudden realization that Red and Misty could be such a great couple with intense chemistry. Normally people would ship Misty with Ash. But then again Ash and Red are the same person, so.. 😅
The whole thing was great, but I think the part that hit me the hardest was Lt. Surge helping Red get over what happened on the S.S. Anne. There really isn't any other gym leader that'd be able to empathize like he could, being a soldier and all.
I agree, and the short scene where Surge remembers handing a widow a uniform and the sad expression she had was the same as Red being handed the badge, and when he looks down, all Red can see is a pair of Dogs tags with Raticate on them, my heart clenched and I cried with them when Surge hugged him. The Over the top Training sequence was odd at first, but then I realized, "Its Surge, the American, EVERYTHING he does has to be over the top." xD
I know it's only been 3 days, but this needs to get so much more attention. It's so beautifully well done. The story, the references, both from the Pokemon community and others. Funny, sad and overall a brilliantly written and animated story. A masterpiece that many more need to see. Thank you for all the hard work that was put into this
This is simply put, amazing. so many nuances and depth in the story and character arcs. I LOVE how each gen1 gym leader has its own personality, and how they all mesh together. I love Giovanni and his sons arc, and all other support characters. The battles are a dozy, as well. Only....You managed to make Lances Dragonite look very powerful, but for some reason I can never take Dragonite as scary. He is just too round and soft around the edges, too cuddly no matter how badass he is. Now, Salamance and especially, Garchomp are really scary dragons. And Mega Garchomp is downright nightmare fuel.
The amount of detail in this 3,5h video is insane. He looked at every character sprite ingame, incorporated the specifics in his design. This is for every trainer in this video. He even included the poses. The atttacks in the fights resemble the attacks the pokemon can have in the actual game. The zubats in the dark cave are actually very annoying an come more than frequently. In the sabrina fight, she envisions reds future. Not only does he get the 151 pokemon, she gets golds POV during the fight, even showing his future Espeon. These are only some of the overall details. Some parts were that beautiful, I started tearing up sometimes a litte. I also loved the different remixes of the themes, it is nice to hear these in projects like this as the music done by the youtubers is really well done. Overall as a pokemon fan as well I thank you for this project. In the comments I started noticing that you are the guy that created the Red vs Gold video as well. Coming to this point proves your dedication, absolutely incredible. I really hope your dedication persists for the future, as the things you create are awesome. Keep it up!
The wildest adaptation of a childhood classic. Drama, Action, Laughs, Nostalgia; it’s the whole package. I especially loved the final battle and epilogue. Even after winning, Red still acknowledged his rival and wanted to explore the world. This is beautiful, Pedro. Thank you for giving us this experience.
Imagine if this was the actual Pokémon anime... they're missing out on a living legend here, absolutely mesmerizing work. I have goosebumps all over my body, my heart is pounding in my chest and i'm so excited about your next animation. This must've been the best RUclips video i've ever seen, no doubts. Animations on this level, so much character development without even adding a single dialogue, Insiders, love story, logic holes filled... what have you not added in your 2 years of lone work? I'm honored to know that a man like you dedicates his lifetime to give the people what they want. Thank you a million times for your hard work and for the 3 hours of goosebumps and tears from nostalgia. You're always gonna stay a legend in this community.
EXCELLENT job. As a person that has played through these Gen 1 games way too many times, your attention to detail and subtle nods to some of the highly nostalgic things you'd see in a typical playthrough were not missed. Great work!
Phew. I finally finished the video. What can I say? It was incredible. You hit so many emotional highs and lows! I laughed, I cried, and I loved every moment of it. You stayed so true to the story, yet added your own twists that didn't feel out of place. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for creating this masterpiece! I look forward to the next game.
I... did not expect to watch more than a few minutes of this, but... sir, you've created an absolute masterpiece. You've captured the essence of Gen1 Pokémon, added humour, even made me tear up. Thank you for all the time you invested into this, just to share it with us. I hope you get that job you're after.
Although the year has passed, This should be animation of the year. This does not get enough love. It's godtier. the secrets, the lore, the fandom... The man did it all with his team. IT COVERS EVERYTHING!

Can we all appreciate how Pedro corrected the end of the battle vs Blue: Instead of Oak telling his grandson he’s disappointed, he embraces him and tells him he’s proud :)
Well he should be disappointed Gary is an asshole lmfao
That was great.
Yes
The context behind it is that Blue was treating his pokemon as a tool to reach his goals instead of treating them with care and love.
Oak isn't disapppinted in his grandson for failing to win, he simply expected Blue to be better with his Pokémon.

I love that, so much
Brilliant how the other characters are shown walking their own paths through Kanto. It clearly shows a solid work on the storyline.
🏞🏙🌁🌄🌅🌇🌆🌉🌃
Not only did this capture our experience as kids playing this game, but it filled in all the holes that was left to our imagination. Red and Misty's romance (finally!!), the relationship with each gym leader (especially the PTSD arc with Surge, wow), Red and Blue's history (particularly raticate's story had me BAWLING), and the arc of Giovanni was PERFECTION. Hats off to you, and thank you!!
Thank you
The fact that LT Surge was able to see the PTSD in Red right off the bat, and acted appropriately was very touching.
And turned everyone into a gigachad
He must've saw Red's father in him
And then Red saw it in Sabrina and reaches out to her despite her pushing him away - great poetry.

Honestly, really clever of the writing to have that idea.
So sad lol
Same bro. When Raticate was sent out last on the S.S. Anne, I knew what time it was…but I wasn’t expecting to see what was shown 😢
Except it's a fan made theory and nothing proven.

A pokemon show like THIS, that's marketed for adults, would be a dream come true. Until then, it scratches all the right places
Oies No Bemi
don´t hold your breath for something like this, the Pokemon Company is no longer aiming to please their old fanbase, they know that most of us are in our mid 20ths to mid 30ths and we are already grown up adults with things to do with our lives so they are aiming to the kids who have hardly anything to do this days.
Rewatched this a lot lately, and a few random observations I've made in said rewatches, and also just various things I didn't comment on the first time that I absolutely loved:
1: I thought the swamp during the Sabrina battles was so random and strange, until I realized- it's a marsh.
Bravo, Sir.

Strongly agree. I've only watched 10mins so far & the details up to now have been really impressive.
Jip. I Love it so far as well. Brings back memories of childhood. :D.
But one detail doesn’t make sense to me:
How can charmanda beat onyx sooo easily with his fireattack ? in the game you have to be either on a very damn high level or catch/develope a butterfree.
@@yotu9670 From what I could tell, he was spamming Growl and Scary Face on Onix, while it tried to use Bide and failed.
-Daisy: Having a more active role than just giving a map, with a role as cartographer and helping from time to time
-Red's Mom: Yes, she didn't do much, she was fine with MVP, that is, supporting Red and the rest of the characters, more than anything with Leaf receiving her from her house and encouraging her when she felt bad about not being a trainer competent.
I congratulate you for your attention
THanks, I'm really really happy to see you all getting all these details I've put into this series after so much time =D
You Mean His Girlfriend?
@@PedroAraujoStudio French sous titre please
@@PedroAraujoStudio But I would have liked Bill to have more interaction, since he helped Daisy with the Sevii Islands so that we would have a reference to the Adventures manga
What an absolute masterpiece. I loved the expansion of the character backstories, the implementation of popular fan canon, and the goofy references to various bugs/glitches. Completely worth every second spent watching!
THank you so much! And I'm glad you got all those details xD
You did the impossible... You took a perfect thing and improved it... This is amazing! Thank you so much!!!
I had to pause the movie at certain points as some of the nostalgia was overwhelming. Watching this movie was one of the best experiences I've had in a very long time. Thank you for this incredible love letter to our childhoods!!!
THank you so much for your support and for the kind words! I'm so glad to know that I've been able to create this magic moments for you all =)
I honestly remember picking up my first copy of Pokemon FireRed as a kid and I can say that you didn't just animate the game we all played you animated the entire Pokemon experience fans of the games had when starting their journeys. This animation is magnificent.
The animation is more an adaptation of Red/blue though it also takes some elements from the GBA remakes
@@Antonio-ej8wp I understand that the animation is a adaptation of red/blue along with some theories about what happened in the games
When watching the animation it reminds me of when I would constantly play FireRed as a kid because the first pokemon experience is something you could never forget.
you know you did a amazing job, not only did you make a show about the game we played but you made it with the show we watched mixed in it.

Yes increíble
Yeah this is the animatic for what could be a REALLY impressive series with a bit more cash and people behind it
I am in complete awe. This is the Pokémon content the fanbase has been waiting for for over 25 years. The arc with Blue’s Raticate is as creative as it is deep; the twist with the White Hand being the Raticate’s is especially profound.
Masterful job - cheers to you, Pedro!
It's actuallty pretty old, but the way everything is executed here is perfect.
The White Hand part is from the "Buried Alive" creepypasta, isn't it?
@@Jadinite-2006 nope, it's actually from the games.
I love all the little moments of personality in this. Gary's sister teasing Red, the gym leaders taking him under their wings, camping with trainers on a route and sharing stories. It's such a great little adventure that really captures how your mind filled in the gaps of the story as a kid. Thanks so much for this!
Also the ex-Rocket grunt joining him on his adventures.
It's not Gary, it's Blue (Green in Japan)
You can see the animation get progressively better throughout. It’s like it was a learning experience for him
Yeah, this sort of thing takes so much time to produce that it is quite normal to see improvements as the series goes.
Characters like Lorelei being more detailed than Red and Blue is so disturbing though. And then when we reach Agatha, it swtiches.
TIL about the long distance trainer glitch.
Bemis
You brought more depth and nuance to these characters and their relationships than we ever see in most commercially produced shows or films.
may we add, all of that with mostly silent characters. An asbolute ACHIEVEMENT of animation.
I cried like 12 times watching this. His accuracy and allusion to every Pokémon game up to this point in time is impeccable
I was hoping I wasn't alone with shedding tears. Man, the nostalgia mixed with great storytelling hit too hard.
Meanwhile i am stopping myself from crying even inside me i was crying

been binging this since I found your channel 2 days ago.

There are no words in any mortal tongue to describe the absolute Perfection you have created. Just. Damn. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that was 3 and a half hours I will never regret spending watching something.
This has to be the best Pokémon fan content I've ever seen. Better than a lot of official content too, honestly. Incredible work Pedro.
I mean, its nintendo. They'll send a cease and desist letter before they send a job offer.
I'm doing my best on johto series, and I hope to be able to make a golden conclusion when it comes to the final fight of red vs gold!
the crucial difference in the ship department is that ash is STILL only 10 [by the end of journey's, at least] so he's probably content with beign single despite all the people mass shipping him, and Red and Misty must be about at least 13 or something in the pedro araujo -verse in the video.

most people dont understand how long 3 hours of quality animation takes to make, 2 years is actually insane.
I can't get over how epic Charmeleon evolution was. IMO you are responsible for one of the most epic moments in pokemon animation.
I'd even say in all of animation history.
Lo mejor de todo es que se puede entender la aventura sin ningún tipo de diálogo, esto es un exelente trabajo y muy entretenido
You animated the game we experienced and for 3:26h you put me back in time. Back when I played pokemon for the first time.
Thank you so much for your hard work!
Of all the creative liberty you took, Oak's dialogue change to Blue at the end was hands down the best. Loved this masterpiece!
He deserced that xD more than "im dissapointed". That would create a villlain haha
I love the storytelling. I like that the gym leaders assist Red on his journey. And of course shipping Misty. It was all great.
The Over the top Training sequence was odd at first, but then I realized, "Its Surge, the American, EVERYTHING he does has to be over the top." xD
dude, i shed a couple of tears on that part, ngl.
the fact you already prepared for season 2 (gold/silver) in such a way that is easily understandable is borderline genius...
looking forward to it :D
working on gold 01 sketch already!
I know it's only been 3 days, but this needs to get so much more attention. It's so beautifully well done. The story, the references, both from the Pokemon community and others. Funny, sad and overall a brilliantly written and animated story. A masterpiece that many more need to see. Thank you for all the hard work that was put into this
It will. It’s going way up in views
Fun fact: alot of sfx in this movie are from sonic games. Like when hypno used confusion and mega kick and machamp used submission. At the same time
This is simply put, amazing. so many nuances and depth in the story and character arcs.
Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the attention oon all this little details XD Gold ep 01 next week! o/
The wildest adaptation of a childhood classic. Drama, Action, Laughs, Nostalgia; it’s the whole package.
I especially loved the final battle and epilogue. Even after winning, Red still acknowledged his rival and wanted to explore the world.

Great work!
3 years, 1 man and a 3h30min project? That is insanely impressive! Thank you so much for your work. I will thoroughly enjoy watching it :)
