@@aahaankhandelwal7822 this. Exactly this. For Ash, we saw his journeys. Saw his struggles. Therefore when he finally managed to win against his rivals and finally won the league and world championship, it was earned. Red bumbled his way through Origins, winning his battles through sheer plot armor guiding him. Almost every battle (how few there were, cuz they glossed over like 80-90% of the game) only showed him being incompetent, proving only he didn’t deserve to win any of his battles.
I was going to say Red's the better trainer but then I actually thought about it. Apart from Blue, Red only defeated opponents by outnumbering them, which is a cheap tactic. Against Brock, Nidoran was the only Pokemon who could actually put up a fight on his own merits. He very nearly beat Onix by himself, only for Onix to then sweep through 3 other Pokemon without even trying. Giovanni's Rhyhorn took out 5 Pokemon all by itself. Then Rhydon only lost to Charizard because of plot armour. If Red actually fought Giovanni fairly instead of by simply outnumbering him, he wouldn't have stood a chance. It's the same with Mewtwo. 5 Pokemon weakened it and even after that, Charizard had to resort to Mega Evolution to stand any chance at all. Also, the Elite 4 have 5 Pokemon each, so even there, Red only won by outnumbering them with 6 Pokemon. Literally the only time Red won a battle fair and square was against Blue.
@@tomnorton4277it’s smart because they don’t limit you. you can bring how many ever pokemon you want I know it’s cheap to out number them but it never said red can’t
@@alphatech1743 honestly, if we’re power scaling this, Ash Negs diffs origins Red. Low/Mid diffs Game Red, and High diffs with manga Red. Manga red is the only one I can see feasibly beating Ash, because as of today, Ash is so far the only trainer in any canon of Pokemon to wield Mega Evolution, Z moves and G-Max all at once.
While Red is awesome, for me it's Ash. My boy ash has gone through all the regions, minus Paldea as of now, battled all the gym leaders, some elite four, won the orange league, conquered the battle frontier, participated in all of the League Conferences and did quite well in most of them, and won the first Alola league and became it's champion kind off, defeated most of the evil teams, met a whole heap of legendary pokemon, including god himself, saved the world many times, caught maybe solgaleo and an ultra beast, participated in a world Pokemon championship tournament where he defeated maybe strong trainers from all the regions, defeated Alain, Steven, Cynthia, and even defeated the supreme monarch aka the pokemon world champion Leon and became that. While Red did his journey, defeated the gym leaders, won the Kanto league, maybe Johto, defeated team rocket, captured Mewtwo, and disappeared to Mt. Silver. So yeah my boy ash is the goat, and red, IMO, is just over hyped by the fans for being the first game protagonist
You clearly need to know more about Red. Red is much more than you have seen in this Origin anime. Red conquered Indigo League on his first try, unlike Ash. Red completed his dex. He then moved to other regions (see Generations) like Ash, but Red left his Champion title long time ago to get stronger, and having super long winning streak, and extremely strong that Red was now officially titled by the Pokemon franchise as "The Living Legend", "The Legendary Trainer", "Battle Legend", and "Battle Master" to showcase his legendary strength. Red canonically can do all gimmicks like Ash too, Mega Evolution, Z move and Gmax. In Masters (currently ongoing), Red was blatantly stated as "The strongest trainer in history" and he was truly respected by Cynthia, Leon, and everyone due to his unrivaled strength as a trainer. Red also single handedly took half of Team Rocket with just one Pokemon (Snorlax) at one shot, while other Champions and E4 were having their hands full with the other half! Red IS the GOAT. Red is the OG.
Red is the clear Winner compared to Ash.. Why? If we're going to compare Ash to Red, then compare them to their Gen1 Kanto Achievements Red, captured 150 pokemons, becomes Kanto Champion, and what is Ash's achievement in Kanto? Yes Ash is the pokemon Monarch now but that is because he ventured to a lot of region that Red did not venture in. Also why is Ash always compared to Red? Why not Gold/Ethan vs Ash on Johto Region Achievements? Or Ruby/Brendan vs Ash on Hoenn Region Achievements? Ash aint shit compared to them.. Maybe on the last 3 Regions where Ash is becoming more competent like Kalos(Gen6), Alola(Gen7) and Galar(Gen8)

Red really is a fraud, his team consists of 5 nobodys and charizard. At least with ash his other mons are also good while having son of arceus pikachu.
Honestly, Red is a cool trainer in his own right, but I can never see him as "the strongest trainer of all" that Pokémon wants me to see him as. My reasoning is as follows: 1. Outside of Gen 1, this guy is almost always losing. That fight atop Mt Silver in Johto was sick as hell, but after that he also appears in the Pokémon World Tournament in B2W2 and the Battle Tree in SM/USUM and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. Since the protagonist is always required to beat Red, it takes away from his supposed legend, and paints him as "oh he's just a strong trainer like the rest of us". 2. The fact that his team is remarkably easy to beat. Unlike Cynthia, who's often lauded for having a competitively viable team, the only real challenge Red poses is his high levels. His team is just Kanto Starters + Pikachu + Lapras/Espeon + Snorlax. We know for a fact that he has more powerful Pokémon like the Kanto Legendary Birds + Mewtwo in his possession. Why doesn't he ever pull them out? He feels like that one guy in your friend group who only pulls up with the most recognizable Pokémon simply because they are the most recognizable. I know he's kinda required to do that due to being one of the mascots of the franchise, but it still hurts his credibility. As for the Red vs Ash debacle? My money's on Ash for the following reasons: 1. *_"Red caught a Mewtwo while Ash has never beaten one."_* This argument ignores the fact that all the Mewtwos that Ash has encountered are infinitely smarter than the one Red caught. Like look at the fight again, Red's Mewtwo is always growling and attacking like a wild beast, while all the Mewtwos that Ash encountered are capable of holding intelligent conversation. Hell, dude was literally figuring out the meaning of life in the First Movie. 2. *_"Red took down Team Rocket singlehandedly."_* Yes, Ash required help from other people, but he has taken down multiple teams. Some of whom were operating on a far grander scale than Team Rocket (Aqua/Magma/Galactic) just to name a few. 3. *_"Red is the Kanto Champion."_* Cool, Ash is the World Champion now. Journeys literally ends with him being crowned the strongest in the world. 4. The anime simply operates on a different logic than the games. As such, provided Red and Ash keep their battle styles from their respective universes, Ash would have tricks that Red has never seen before, while all of Red's tricks would be obvious to Ash.
And people say ash was bad. My man red lost 2 Pokémon with quad super effective damage to an unevolved Rhyhorn, sent in 2 Pokémon with disadvantage, only to finally send in his fighting type, only to have Hitmonlee trade with Rhyhorn. To think people still glaze this man is strange.
This adaptation of Red is gotta be the weakest of the Reds bro, the only Pokemon I can consider he trained is that fuckass Charizard of his and everyone else is gotta be begging for a smidget of exp, also, his Jolteon got ohko'd to that Rhyhorn via the use of Tbolt, this thing has a pitiful Special Attack so idk how this thing had ohko'd Jolteon aside from Giovanni being a crime lord and drugging his mons or Red being that neglectful to all nonZard mons.
@@reynaldofelicianocabuhat468 little of column A, mostly Column B on that one. Origins Red is such a loser, the fact he got along as far as he did was all because Charizard had that plot armor. Bro, Red didn’t even do the job right. Gold had to come in and clean up his mess, not only with Giovanni, but the faction as a whole. And despite their usual antics, Jessie and James helped Giovanni deal with Galactic, Plasma and Flare. Unironically, the trio are among his best agents by dealing with his competition.
@ Red demolished already established, ruthless and dominant team rocket while gold only cleaned the leftovers petrel and other commanders . Jesse and james are there just for comical angle , they can’t do anything while team galactic was a menace .
@ Gold literally goes back in time to stop Giovanni from reuniting with his group, WHILE his past self is taking down team rocket at the radio tower. Man was so efficient at crushing team rocket, he was doing it in two different locations at the same time. Red could never.
Seeing how all battles we’ve seen Red in involve most of his Pokemon getting destroyed besides Charizard, yeah, I think it’s safe to say Ash would win. His own Charizard don’t need to gimmicks to be the best. And that’s not including the son of Arceus

In origins red is heavily underlevelled. Reminder these are giovannis specially trained pokemon that he has levelled up his whole life while reds pokemon were only trained up to fight this gym leader. If gio used his normal team, red wouldve demolished
He used other completely diferent team.
Dodrio, jolteon, lapras, charizard, persian and scyther.
Also there was some time and victory road before the elite 4.
He lost against rhyhorn because his mons were underleveled, which makes sense since he trains dozens of pokemons intead of only 7/8
@@nunobatista5822 but they were super effective against a Rhydon, even Jolteon losing to Rhyhorn's Tbolt makes 0 sense as Jolteon has Volt Absorb
@@Shinrius red merely bumbled his way around and pulled wins out of his ass in origins. Man never had a single battle in this series that felt deserved because the anime not only made him a full on fool, but the plot armor was fully evident.

I feel ash is so much better, bec we actually got to see his journey, like his wins and losses. We got to see him grow into the world champ. They wrapped up red's 95% of the battles in a god damn montage. Red literally got the adopted child treatment

Therefore when he finally managed to win against his rivals and finally won the league and world championship, it was earned. Almost every battle (how few there were, cuz they glossed over like 80-90% of the game) only showed him being incompetent, proving only he didn’t deserve to win any of his battles.

Love your videos man keep it up
that charizard edit was hard ash lmao
It’s cheap but smart
@@memphishuffman8938 No it's not. Smart would be to come up with a strategy that wins fair and square. Outnumbering your opponent is just cheating.
@@tomnorton4277it’s smart because they don’t limit you. you can bring how many ever pokemon you want I know it’s cheap to out number them but it never said red can’t
Yeah when it comes to this red it’s easily ash but the other reds could give him a run for his money.
@@alphatech1743 honestly, if we’re power scaling this, Ash Negs diffs origins Red. Low/Mid diffs Game Red, and High diffs with manga Red. What a blood-drenched word it is."
4:51 ''I ask of you... are you my Master?'' ahh scene, tf Giovanni doing 😭
I mean, Red needed 6 Pokémon to beat a Rhyhorn and a Rhydon.
Red is the clear Winner compared to Ash.. Why?
If we're going to compare Ash to Red, then compare them to their Gen1 Kanto Achievements
Red, captured 150 pokemons, becomes Kanto Champion, and what is Ash's achievement in Kanto?
Yes Ash is the pokemon Monarch now but that is because he ventured to a lot of region that Red did not venture in.
Also why is Ash always compared to Red?
Why not Gold/Ethan vs Ash on Johto Region Achievements?
Or Ruby/Brendan vs Ash on Hoenn Region Achievements?
Ash aint shit compared to them.. Maybe on the last 3 Regions where Ash is becoming more competent like Kalos(Gen6), Alola(Gen7) and Galar(Gen8)

Manga Legendaries scale much higher than anime legendaries, considering an arguably level 44ish newly evolved Noivern with near NO battle experience scaled to anime Zapdos. 8:52 OH MYY
Fr bro 😂😂
Honestly, Red is a cool trainer in his own right, but I can never see him as "the strongest trainer of all" that Pokémon wants me to see him as.
My reasoning is as follows:
My money's on Ash for the following reasons:
Bro is the game
The real question, is "YES" a strong enough word for what you just asked.
To be honest, Manga Red is the only one is can say is really strong. Even game Red has been a jobber. Man’s been a walking L since GS. Losing to 4 whole generations of protagonists, one being those two goobers who you play as in Let’s Go.
Manga Red is a good trainer, but people really be glazing this man too much. All he did is become Kanto champ and screw off to the top of a mountain. Man didn’t even finish team rocket off. Gold/Ethan not only took down team rocket for good, but he also went back in time with Celebi to also take down Giovanni AT THE SAME TIME his past self was talking TR down at the Goldenrod radio tower.
