Red was strong mostly because of the huge level jump. Otherwise it was pretty easy. I played a rom hack of soulsilver called StormSilver, which in general is hard af, but kept the same red team with better movesets , levels and ai. I remember getting to top of Mt Silver with absolutely no clue Red was at the end in Pokemon Silver, I remember thinking there was gonna be a legendary or something waiting and then he destroyed my entire team 😂 I was so shook when I seen his sprite, the old sprite from R/B/Y it felt like some kinda betrayal battling the character I played as for so long. Sun and Moon was so underwhelming and disappointing. Not only does his design look generic and lacking for Red's first appearance in 3D, but they couldn't even be bothered to give him his original music! It's literally just the default battle music. They even toned down his levels from his last appearance in HeartGold/SoulSilver. (Not counting Black 2/White 2 since levels were set at 50 in tournament.)
HG/SS are the best games because your pokemon walks with you, it has the best Red theme and since it's a remake of G/S, you have to complete 2 regions. But mainly because your pokemon walks with you.
When I had to choose between battling red n blue I choose blue. Cuz I knew the red in the battle tower would be much stronger n I had so much respect for red as a trainer that I wanted to battle him at his prime. Not as a "oh ur the new champ u get to choose between the two of us to battle"
Oh.... wish I thought of it that way.. I automatically picked red thinking if I beat him now, and sow his pokemon, i could in HG be able to beat him when I got to mt. Silver.
La primera vez que peleé contra Red en Cristal, fue realmente épico para mí. Nunca me lo habría imaginado y su tema es de mis favoritos hasta el momento.
I will always remember my battles with red, my jaw dropped after seeing the level gap between his and mine, getting wrecked by volt tackle even tho i had a mewtwo (yes i had a legendary, that is how weak i a)m, using a full legendary team just to defeat him
The Hot Can Of Art Do you even Pokemon bro? Kids don't age in that series. And even so, his redesign isn't really necessary. He doesn't even really look older, he looks like a completely different person. Age wouldn't change Red's appearance much in a few years.
Paul Adams Kids don't age in the anime series because the anime series is bad. Red's age has been confirmed to have been growing ever since day one. He was 11 at the start of his journey, he was 13 when you battled him at Mt. Silver, 16 at the PWT and now he's somwhere in his 20s or 30s.
Paul Adams >No sense of intimidation/mystery/stoicness >No epic silence >Theme is gay >Outfit is gay >Even his hair is fucked up tfw Nintendo is fucking everything up and all you can do is stand and watch.
Its amazing, and its extremely long it has 2 regions and 16 gym leaders. Just search up pkmn hgss map to see how long it is. Its amazing, Imo the best pokemon games of all time.
I recommend playing through StormSilver. It's a romhack that's basically soulsilver but without the annoying stuff for the most part, and way harder battles. It's the definitive way to experience heartgold/StormSilver if you don't want to just mash a button and win. It also has quite a lot of qol stuff like running inside houses. It removed the non linearity from the og games for better pacing too.
1:52 Gen 2 psychic was in my opinion the best even to this day. Almost as if the move distorts reality while inflicting damage. Then add a super effective sound+full screen shake+plus the slow health bar glitch. Just perfect.
Gen 5 really has the most iconic graphics. I love the sprites and when they got animations i was so blown away. Heartgold and soul silver are still my favorite games. Gen 2 was the best one and i loved the red fight in that one.
I find the GSC animation for Psychic to be so cool and my favorite throughout the series same with any of the beam moves. The sounds of them to me sound so cool and the beams really sound like your Pokémon just popped off and went for the kill lol
I beat this original first battle against Red in the original Gold/Silver version the day it came out b/c I beat the whole game in one or two days. It was the most “epic” and “intense” thing I’ve ever done at that time.
HeartGold & SoulSilver for me is the most epic battle against red. Second IMO is the original one. EDIT: Sadly he's not worthy opponent anymore these days because they nerfed him so much.
I will never forget beating Gold, going into Mt Silver thinking I was going to catch some level 70 legendary Pokémon and instead facing off against red’s lvl 81 pikachu with my lvl 60s Pokémon. I was not ready lol
lmfao this happened today: My friend: Nerf isn’t a real thing. Its just an excuse for your favorite characters. Me *pulls up every battle with Red in games* My friend: But... Red’s Mega Evolution... MewTwo... Mew...?!
How was it possible that many people didn't think that red was atop that mountain but they knew that HEART GOLD And SOUL SILVER were remakes of crystal, gold and silver from the GBC
Dude Red was more O.P in older gens .... than these ne games they nerfed him in super battle .. literally.. he's alot easier to defeat in new gen pokemon games
I stopped playing Pokemon after Gold (can't even remember this fight) so didn't realise Red was this absolute monster of a trainer. The theme song in HG / SS gave me chills. So intimidating and intense, like you know you're fighting an impossible battle.
Man, it's a real shame how little tension the sun and moon battle has. I feel like even with the jump in graphics they could have EASILY still made red this mysterious and intimidating trainer that he was in the others, guess they just didn't feel like it. I guess to me it just sort of feels like a diservice to his chatracter for it to be such a laid back and chilled out fight.
I know Red is a different character from Ash. But when your a kid and you first run into this guy let me tell you, this definitely feels like your fighting Ash and growing up watching the show everyday after school, this was a huge rush for me as a kid.
Well, people love to say that but honestly, from somebody who saw Pokemon become a thing during the 90s, Ash IS Red's counterpart for the animation, obviously. Same story, roughly same design, same everything. They established him as a "separate character" of sorts much later, and even so, it's not as if they shared the same universe anyways. No wonder they decided to give Red a Pikachu in the games' universe.
In the original games there is a glitch that you can perform that duplicates to a crazy amount the 6th item in your bag. Also it lets you catch " Missigno " ( or Missing Number ) with is a glitch pokémon that has the 000 slot in the Pokédex.@@jerstumc5033
I miss the days when people barely had Internet. You had no clue what to find or expect. Took me a very long time to even find Red. Also my pkmn gold casette is kinda special, somehow I found a red Kingdra in the game, as in red skin instead of the usual blue. Am I the only one who has found some weird nonshiny colorpattern Pokemon in a normal way?
If you go talk to red in the alola region AFTER you face him in the battle tree then he'll give you alot of mega stones. Mainly based around the pokemon he used throughout the years
I’ve always wondered. If Red remains silent, then how does he give commands to his Pokémon in battle? Do they just read his mind & preemptively feel what move Red wants to be used?
bro i had a level 100 team consisting of feraligatr, crobat, heracross, espeon, lapras and dragonite and 2 of my pokémon still fainted in HG/SS, that battle is something serious
Instead of "You are challenged by Pokémon Trainer Red", it should be "You challenged Pokémon Trainer Red" since your challenging him, you the player interacts with him to fight, he has no intention of fighting but you the player wants to fight.
Flappy turtle no he wasn't. The new one may be somewhat of a reimagining of Yellow, and from that you can say he's Red, but Yellow is more or less based off the anime. But alright, we'll give it to you and say it's Red in his entirety in Yellow. That doesn't mean that Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are the last Pokémon games to be released EVER, as the original commenter said. But still, I get what you were saying, you just didn't explain your point.
I'm just glad that you can atleast see Red (and Blue in Sun and Moon) in the later versions of pokémon. I know they nerfed Red and his pokémons alot, but just think about it this way, Red just became very rusty after all this time.

That fucking Snorlax who is too stubborn to die gave me one of my hardest 5 minutes of my life.
He has a theme just look up pokemon usum music vs red
In fact yeah look at 26:45 idiot
Oh wow, "his" theme plays when you only get to fight three of his Pokemon?
You were right Justin, that's absolutely epic. Wow, amazed.
The theme is a mix between red and green themes
I love how the Pokémon follows the players in hg and ss!
The player can even talk to it
What no way I see you comment on a MWR video now I see you here and your comment is 1 year old
They need to bring it back imo
Every pokemon game should have this
@@latenightswurmy6805 this aged well with the diamond n pearl remake lol
S&M is designed for kids
HG/SS or before is designed for trainer
HG/SS are the best games because your pokemon walks with you, it has the best Red theme and since it's a remake of G/S, you have to complete 2 regions.
But mainly because your pokemon walks with you.

Gen 2: Electric Boogaloo
Red is so kind he's always holding back for us
When I had to choose between battling red n blue I choose blue. Cuz I knew the red in the battle tower would be much stronger n I had so much respect for red as a trainer that I wanted to battle him at his prime. Not as a "oh ur the new champ u get to choose between the two of us to battle"
Rey Mendez ikr
Oh.... wish I thought of it that way.. I automatically picked red thinking if I beat him now, and sow his pokemon, i could in HG be able to beat him when I got to mt. Silver.
I saved before entering and battled both.
....! 👍
La primera vez que peleé contra Red en Cristal, fue realmente épico para mí.
Nunca me lo habría imaginado y su tema es de mis favoritos hasta el momento.

You have no idea what it was like before internet days, it was alot more rewarding and shocking when you found this as a kid not knowing.
Imagine they did this for Hilbert in Black/White 2
Yeah But We Need Tickets
I will always remember my battles with red, my jaw dropped after seeing the level gap between his and mine, getting wrecked by volt tackle even tho i had a mewtwo (yes i had a legendary, that is how weak i a)m, using a full legendary team just to defeat him
Lol that's fine tho
It’s cool I got my ass kicked a lot too haha

Edit: Yo thanks for the Likes fellas.
Mega Jared X And in Sun and Moon/Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Only the G/S/C versions were a 100 a challenge.
Mega Jared X and hgss
They got carried away on HG and SS cause they were Lvl.80+.
but it was more fun and challenging, not like level 69 bs, or the level 50
Red in the last battle looks nothing like Red and I hate that
Paul Adams they ruined him where’s his theme? Why are his Pokémon nerfed?
Yes adult red nothing looks like 11 year old red what a shocker
The Hot Can Of Art Do you even Pokemon bro? Kids don't age in that series.
And even so, his redesign isn't really necessary. He doesn't even really look older, he looks like a completely different person. Age wouldn't change Red's appearance much in a few years.
Paul Adams Kids don't age in the anime series because the anime series is bad. Red's age has been confirmed to have been growing ever since day one. He was 11 at the start of his journey, he was 13 when you battled him at Mt. Silver, 16 at the PWT and now he's somwhere in his 20s or 30s.
Paul Adams >No sense of intimidation/mystery/stoicness
>No epic silence
>Theme is gay
>Outfit is gay
>Even his hair is fucked up
tfw Nintendo is fucking everything up and all you can do is stand and watch.

Heart gold and SoulSilver looked really fun and challenging.
@@vedaryan334thx gonna check this out for my next play through
1:52 Gen 2 psychic was in my opinion the best even to this day.
I love Pokemon crystal :D

I beat this original first battle against Red in the original Gold/Silver version the day it came out b/c I beat the whole game in one or two days. It was the most “epic” and “intense” thing I’ve ever done at that time.
HeartGold & SoulSilver for me is the most epic battle against red. Second IMO is the original one.
EDIT: Sadly he's not worthy opponent anymore these days because they nerfed him so much.
i thought your profile picture was a hair on my screen
@@juliamartin945 hahaha
Kids today don't know the struggles of battling red he was by far the toughest trainer I've ever fought
I will never forget beating Gold, going into Mt Silver thinking I was going to catch some level 70 legendary Pokémon and instead facing off against red’s lvl 81 pikachu with my lvl 60s Pokémon. I was not ready lol
this man completed all of this and got to red in all those game while somehow resisting the temptation to give his pokemons their own names. respect
Once in a lifetime, you come across one person for whom no words are necessary. You both just understand.
You know you got nerfed when they cut your theme from your fight.
"Yo what's this fisherman doing out here lmao"
Crystal was my first Pokémon game ever played and now I can own it again on 3ds I can’t wait!!

My friend: But... Red’s Mega Evolution... MewTwo... Mew...?!
The psychic animation and sound was Badass back then.
How was it possible that many people didn't think that red was atop that mountain but they knew that HEART GOLD And SOUL SILVER were remakes of crystal, gold and silver from the GBC
first one never ceases to give me chills
>gengar held on using its focus sash
>Gengar was buffeted by Hail

People complaining about Red being nerfed in Sun/Moon obviously didn't try facing him for real in the Super Battles.
Dude Red was more O.P in older gens .... than these ne games
they nerfed him in super battle .. literally.. he's alot easier to defeat in new gen pokemon games
Redx. Flare that’s why new Pokemon games are shit 👏

Title: Evolution of Pokemon Trainer Red Battles (2000 - 2017)
Me: Best to Worst Red Battles (2000 - 2017)
That Crystal battle was beautifully executed!
This always will be one of my favorite Pokémon moments
The original protagonist almost always comes back and his power is unparaleled
Leonardo Farias No though? I cannot think of an instance where that happens. You literally beat Red every time he shows up.
Mr. ElectriDictator first that’s *you* beating him not the other protagonists and second it’s not canon if he actually fought them
I stopped playing Pokemon after Gold (can't even remember this fight) so didn't realise Red was this absolute monster of a trainer. The theme song in HG / SS gave me chills. So intimidating and intense, like you know you're fighting an impossible battle.
Red's Epicness is still unreached
“Now… two Titans meet… as it was foretold.”
Man, it's a real shame how little tension the sun and moon battle has. I feel like even with the jump in graphics they could have EASILY still made red this mysterious and intimidating trainer that he was in the others, guess they just didn't feel like it. I guess to me it just sort of feels like a diservice to his chatracter for it to be such a laid back and chilled out fight.
its really only laid back because they're on vacation. Red and Blue aren't taking the battle seriously because they're just battling you for funsies.
Why does red even have a talking animation in sun/moon/ultra sun/ultra moon?
Shiny Lugia because he's red
Because he does talk, they just don't write dialogue for him
Sound of Slience
@DanyyelTR Red speaks "Go, [pokemon name]" when sending out a Pokemon in RGBY/FRLG
Your profile name and picture is awesome
It feels so good when you defeat red in the originals/HG and SS because the battles are actually pretty hard
The real reason why Red is so strong is because he did the MissigNO glitch back in RGBY and the sixth item of his bag was a rare candy
I can't understand could you explain to me more about this?
In the original games there is a glitch that you can perform that duplicates to a crazy amount the 6th item in your bag. Also it lets you catch " Missigno " ( or Missing Number ) with is a glitch pokémon that has the 000 slot in the Pokédex.@@jerstumc5033

Night Crowd Edogawa I personally like his HG/SS theme more
Night Crowd Edogawa No

I love the original GSC, but i gotta admit, they did one hell of job on the HGSS theme.
At the last battle, Red realised how Ash felt while battling Tobias😂
If you go talk to red in the alola region AFTER you face him in the battle tree then he'll give you alot of mega stones. Mainly based around the pokemon he used throughout the years
0:15 right in the feels.
Theme never gets old
GSC Red: ....
HGSS Red: ....!
BW 2 Red: ..... .....
SUMO and USUM Red: .......?!
remember when WE were red?😂
i stil get the chills. When you talk to Red, those dots and champion music. Shit fuckin nintendo knows what they are doing since then
that moment when the champion music is well known, not because of the champion battle, but because of an unrelated battle post-game
The last Pokémon game ever will be one based on Red, like the original games👌
Gustavo Guzman Almanza you have no way of knowing it..
Gustavo Guzman Almanza maybe
+Alexandru Calciu he was fucking right tho, holy shit
Flappy turtle no he wasn't. The new one may be somewhat of a reimagining of Yellow, and from that you can say he's Red, but Yellow is more or less based off the anime. But alright, we'll give it to you and say it's Red in his entirety in Yellow. That doesn't mean that Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are the last Pokémon games to be released EVER, as the original commenter said. But still, I get what you were saying, you just didn't explain your point.
+ToonRaider
yea i wasnt very serious
I'm just glad that you can atleast see Red (and Blue in Sun and Moon) in the later versions of pokémon. I know they nerfed Red and his pokémons alot, but just think about it this way, Red just became very rusty after all this time.
Or his pokemon just got old
The Heartgold/soulsilver battle was amazing.
gen one had the crispiest crit sound ever
Red rlly played himself at the beginning with that sunny day lol.
