Man that really doesnt remove the fact the game is poorly balanced with a terrible level curve, useless EXP share that does not help with the terrible amounts of grinding late game, bad gym leaders with bad teams that often duplicate pokemon, and the fact most of the good pokemon are left to the post game where nobody will train a new pokemon for their team. This game is a 6/10 at best because seems like a 5 year old was put in charge of the design of the game. But hey a single meaningless battle makes the game a 10/10.
Please ,you need to stop contaminating my life with your dots. I could stand it when we fought, but now you're seriously damaging my psychophysical balance. Stop.
Watching it go down builds the suspense! But I do get a sense of satisfaction watching the HP bar literally vanish on a super effective OHKO in the new versions
The first time I found him was completely by accident. I went up the mountains thinking there was some rare pokemon or something lmao. Imagine my surprise when I proceed to get my ass destroyed by pikachu
Sensational feeling in these high-level battles… you land a super effective move and their HP decline takes foreverrrrrr before finally reach its resting point. Especially when it was a KO. The new games speed up the animation; takes away all that suspense! New cats will never know what it felt like, like getting a 5:00am house call on a snow day!
You re right in a certain way, but that slow decrease of hp was a big problem to the rest of game, for example, if youre leveling against pokemons with too much hp its really disgusting. This happens in d/p, where the whole gameplay is slow, and for example if you wanna level for the elite four, that will be a fcking hell. But how you say, the suspense it created was unique
I remember stumbling across him on accident while exploring the mountain. It was so excitingly eerie how he says nothing "...". I got my ass handed to me hard. I was in shock and speechless traveling to the pokemon center. I may have not even beat one of his pokemon; I dont remember, but soon after I had a huge grin on my face. I was so stoked about this secret in the game it made me so pumped. Thanks Pokemon! Great memories...
Heya Nintendo! Why don’t you just make a bundle with 3 Pokémon games: diamond/Pearl/platinum, black/white and heartgold/soulsilver. REALLY the ENTIRE Pokémon community would be like: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I got my ass kicked by red multiple times cause I wanted to battle him with level 50 pokemon 😂😂😂 I literally beat reds level 80 Pikachu with my level 44 Graveler ✊
Just think about how terrifying this must be to play completely blind -Professor Oak tells you to check out Mt Silver with no indication of what’s waiting for you at the top -You reach the peak and the music stops. The only sounds are the wind blowing and your footsteps in the snow -One pathway leading to a lone trainer. Interact with him, and he says... nothing -Then the Champion music starts playing -And as soon as he sends out a LEVEL 88 Pokémon, that’s when you know... ...You are NOT ready for this fight.
"Hey my boy, go check Mt Silver for absolutely no reason!" Ok pops, I'll be back with a super rare pokemon! *5 minutes later* "So how'd it go?" Well... I got my ass kicked.
Even not going in blind it’s insane. I was trying to find Articuno and get all the items in Mt Silver before battling Red bc my Pokémon were only like level 55 or something I don’t remember. I got to his place by accident and just randomly decided to battle him anyway, and I still somehow beat him. I have NO idea how
I still remember how noob I was when I first playing this game. I have no idea what team is, and I never did have more than 1 pokemon. All I had was my totodile, I only use him to beat all the gym leader, the elite 4 and champion, also red lol. My Ferraligator was level 95 when I challange him. I still laugh when I remember that.
Nothing beats this remake of this battle. I’m sorry the first original fight was great but this remake honestly MADE this battle. The music, the area, the way the sprite moves, it just hits home. Pokémon to people see it as just a kids game, but to us it was more.
@@carlgrimes662 I mean, if we talk about imporant battles, Cyrus almost rebuilt the world and Gethsis almost conviced all Unova to leave their pokémon if we didn't intervene.
@@stickerz7948 Heartgold and Soulsilver are remakes and superior in every way. Kanto is less barren, you can actually get Misdreavus and Sneasel before going to Kanto (which was terrible design), the game is harder, the story from Crystal was sort of incorporated, looks better, the music is even better (Gold and Silver had great music but the remakes made it better).
While I haven't played much pokemon games, only hg emerald and firered, a lot of people say black 2 white 2 was the peak and I can see why it looks so beautiful with a godly villain
i thought it was so badass. like the best trainer of all time lifts his cap to acknowledge you facing him after going through the whole game. red is so cool
What I find so epic about his animations is typically trainers only get into fights once eye contact is made so Red giving you a cold hard stare with one eye means shits getting real
Beating Red in this game is probably my favorite moment in Pokemon, I felt so accomplished when I beat him at the age of 10 I actually yelled from the excitement
Can we just take a moment to give respect to Blastoise? My man was out there like Lebron James trying to carry the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title.
It isn't whether or not a Pokemon has a legendary status that makes them strong, it's how you use them. Even the most underestimated can turn the tide drastically. It all depends on the Pokemon, and the man.
Imagine if Nintendo make a Johto Remake with another character but this time when you reach the top of the mountain Red isn't there and it's Gold the one ready to destroy you.
@@2chins609 With their real lvl 100 team (Mewtwo, Suicune...) That would be legendary Now that we have 8 gen, what i would like is a remake of B2W2 But in the PWT when you beat the Champion tournament and you think it's the end, you unclock the "Legend tournament" with all the "players" (Gold, Red...) and maybe some other legend (N, some rival idk) with a real no barred fight, legendaries allowed (it's cool to capture them, it's better to use them) with every one of them having their best possible serious team and legendaries that they captured Now that would be a legendary tournament
This is truly the ultimate final boss of all Pokemon games. It's almost perfect in any way. Once you defeated the league of both Johto and Kanto there is no more challenge as far as your character knows, you probably caught all legendaries and by this point it would merely a flick of your wrist to you. Even when going in the league again you can practically steamroll every one of the elite four and the champion. So where do you go? To a remote cave called Mt Silver. In there you find not just pokemon who would even give the champion a run for their money but also a long winding path with no place to rest all the way up to the summit. Your limits are tested in the way you navigate the cave, you encounter no trainer at all because, of course, there are no more stronger trainers. Then you reach the summit and you see one person, this person has fought every hardship you had, beat every trainer you beat and made it to the summit of Mt Silver, way before you ever did. You approach him and both he and you don't speak a word to each other because you both know exactly what goes on in each others mind. The battle starts with so much as not even a warning. It has begun, the battle between two trainers who have both surpassed greatly what has been popularly known as the limits of a trainer and it's fought on the top of the most grueling mountain to climb known. As you win the battle a small gesture of shock and respect comes from the trainer who was, until that point, the only one alive you could call your equal. You bested your equal, you metaphorically bested yourself. You became the best you could ever be and in this battle you even surpassed that. Without a word he leaves just as fast as you met him, making place at the top of the world, a spot only deserved by you. It is lonely at the top, but just as he, you know that someday another will come, having grown past his or her own limitations, becoming the next who will be considered the apex. Until then, you wait, silent and calm, til the day arrives that you must once again do battle and see if you still deserve the spot on the top of the world or you'll silently move as well so that another may see the world from the highest peak.
Bro this is easily one of the most epic gaming moments I've ever had. It felt like I was fighting an evil version of myself lol. The ost made it 10x better too. So fucking cool
That’s the life of most electric types. Have weak physical attack and get KO’ed by a single earthquake....... except for the Pokémon who levitate and isn’t a duel type. Then life is hard
A good tip - I prefer to use electric types against water types because water types usually know an ice move which is problematic if you use a grass type
This is the highest level battle in all of Pokémon and it’s my favourite battle in all of Pokémon. The music, facing the legendary red, how he doesn’t speak a word, how he is so overpowered that you have to strategize as hard as you can. It’s just so well done
I never once beat red , cause I was like 7 and didnt know how to be great at the game, my older bro didnt believe me when I said there was someone stronger than cynthia on the top of a mountain but I proved it to him and he was shock cause he never figured that out , I think he wipes red by spamming spacial rend with his 5 iv palkia with phenominL stat that he got lucky with, even tho at the time neither of us knew about iv's
Have you ever take a moment to think that he might be doing it purposely to make the fight look more intense and to extend the duration to 10 minutes to get the ad revenue
@@numberrandom3642 you say that like extending it to 10 mins is good. Also, being stupid makes the fight more annoying than tense. You could know what you are doing and still be nervous or get screwed over by red during the fight.
Reminds me of vgc I've seen so many moves clearly not good against a Mon yet they still use it when theres another pokemon better off hitting it with. Like whhyy? The other Pokemon would've been knocked out if you had bothered to hit the proper target that is the more threatening one and has been sitting in causing trouble! Ugh, it's frustrating. Sometimes I wonder if they're told to make stupid moves on purpose to "build suspense" artificially, because that's what it feels like sometimes.
So you know how you can link bw with bw2 and see references to your old character? I would have loved if you could battle your past game file as a secret final boss deep in twist mountain or something that would have been sick
@@xavreythemeloettaobsessedm5268 Apparently you were supposed to be able to battle your team from B/W in BW2 in the World Tournament but it was scrapped.
I heard you could do that but it was scrapped. I think that would have been such a cool idea, Hilbert and Nate were basically the Unova Red and Ethan respectevly, Hilbert was considered a leggend after what he did 2 years ago and so was Red
I always hated that feature mind predicting what pokemon the opponent is using next. Makes battle way too easy, since you can just switch to your opponents weakness and one shot them. In this case it took out any challenge out of the fight since this guy switched to whatever the other pokemon is weak to and criticalled them to hell. (Which is why I always turn off the feature)
How to make Pokemon fun: - Turn off shift - Don't use revives during important battles (take it up a notch and don''t use any healing items at all) - Don't use overpowered pokemon
Too Vanilla I played fire red without revives and shift... But I used pokemon like snorlax and dragonite (with the correct nature) Edit: They’re hard to train and you have to reset 261948 times for the nature
This really was the true battle of Pokémon. Two legends with one of them being your original player, who you technically trained yourself and was with them throughout their entire adventure. So cool
It makes me genuinely upset that we'll probably never have a battle as legendary as Pokemom Trainer Red in Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver because, 1. The games have gotten consistently easier, so a final boss battle with pokemon levels in the high 80 range is a no no 2. The games have generally gotten worse, so the experience of having fun building up your team for a final boss battle won't be as memorable and fun.
Even this game SS HG was damn easy, i managed to complete it with only 2 relevant pokemon, Thyplosion and Ampharos, and for the elite 4 i added Lugia. The rest of the team was basically stock untrained pokemon for the HMs. I would go from gym leader to gym leader in Kanto without even going to the pokemon center, and if i ever needed to heal them, was to reset move count. Battle with Red was the only challenging part of the game. I wish trainers along the game had more strategic and stronger teams, and gym leaders had at least a full 6 pkm party with fully evolved pokemon. Imagine if we could set the difficulty level at the start... it would be awesome. These battles are a joke.

Gen 4 games were amazing but Jesus Christ i couldn't stand how slow the HP bar was
Watching it go down builds the suspense! But I do get a sense of satisfaction watching the HP bar literally vanish on a super effective OHKO in the new versions

WizardIF Ye, it's a little bit disturbing... 😅
i think it just builds to the theme of growing strong that pokemon presents tbh
It is not because the hp bar is low it is because the pokemon have a lot of hp try on chansey and you will see

@@AsraliaX2 maybe because you already watched this video a bunch of times, and knew which Pokemon to use for countering Red.
