Imagine being a neighbor of a kid who just got there starter and then about 4 days later he is in the news as the new King of the battle tower, first person to complete their pokedex and the champion of Kanto.
This brings back memories, I had 363 hours put in when I was a kid on fire red in Gameboy Advance. It’s crazy how we would play for hours nonstop as a kid on the weekends. Loved the video!
They banned gameboys at my school because kids would sit next to each other and spread lice so we started hiding places playing. I remember digging a snow cave big enough for us to enter, but too tiny for teacher to get in and we would sit there for hours and play.

Back in the day I played against people on the online forums for 4-5 hours after school and grinded hard to get diff pokemon fully ev trained etc. Think I have 4-5 boxes full of competitive pokemon on that save and can't even fathom how many online battles I had. Crazy that I practically dedicated my life to that, and haven't accessed that save in probably 13 years. As heavily criticised it was, playing brilliant diamond last year made me almost emotional because I felt like a kid again, a nice portal back to simpler, less stressful times.
ooh, ok so I've got almost 3000 hours in Pokemon Stadium on N64. When my brother and I first got it for Christmas, my brother already had a full team from Blue that he imported and Kicked. My. Ass. my poor little 6 year old self was not ready to get my ass beat that hard. So I spent every single day after school, every weekend, every second I could I spent playing and learning type advantages, team builds, practicing, and finally... he went off to college and I never got to fully play Red to import my own team in time. We still play when he comes home for holidays (I'm 26 now, and he's almost 35).
Probably gonna be emerald for me too. I remember when I got diamond and started transferring my emerald mons to diamond I had 606 hours in emerald. And I’ve done multiple emulator runs of it since then. And I put another 300+ into omega ruby. It’s crazy to think I’ve sunk thousands of hours into Pokémon. No wonder I love my kitty so much :)
My longest save is definitely soulsilver, I started it last year in February and I have around 650 hours on it. I have a completed national dex, all trainer card stars, and 2 boxes of shinies. It's my favorite Pokemon game by far cause me and my brother would play when I was younger and he'd whip my ass cause I would use like lvl 27 ledian or something haha
My favourite is firered but the again, I’ve only ever gotten to Erika and that’s the furthest I’ve ever made in any pokemon game that isn’t an unofficial rom hack.
I've clocked almost 900 hours in Pokemon Diamond, having more than one level 100 Pokemon (including my starter Infernape), beaten Palmer and catching 479/493 Pokemon. If I had the Glameow line and one other Pokemon I can't recall, I'd have completed the National Dex (Mythicals aren't counted). Unfortunately, nobody I knew had Pearl, so no Glameow. Still have the save, though...
The pokemon game I have the most time in is *Pokemon X!* I have *1339 hours and 30 mins in it* (I turned on my 3ds and went to the Activity Log just for this video)! This was the first time I really played and blossomed in competitive pokemon. I was breeding a lot back then and man, the community was awesome at the time! Have a blessed day everyone!
I got my first game boy advance on my 9th birthday (2005) with Pokémon fire red. My first 100 hours in game were spent evolving my Charmander all the way up to a Charizard between the first two routes because I couldn’t figure out how to get past the sleeping old man who teaches you how to catch Pokémon. When I by chance finally walked to right places and spoke to the right people in the right order..
I did the same thing, but on Pokemon Red version because I didn't understand that I needed to go onto the S.S. Anne and finish that part of the story line lmao
Great vid. You can actually get 253 pkmn in this game though - if you breed Wobbuffet while it's holding a lax incense, you get Wynaut, a Hoenn pokemon.
Pokemon omega ruby by far have the most hours in. Had the entire regional dex shiny and was going through national dex (reached sinnoh) until my game corrupted which was when I sat in my room for an hour just sitting in shock
I have that same story. I had pokemon sapphire on my tablet on an emulator. One day as going to attempt the league after 300 hrs, the tablet broke. I was devastated. I was SEVEN. I am 13.
Pokemon Platinum for sure. Spent countless hours, breeding, training EVs the old school way, digging underground, exploring around, beating the Frontier. I dont think Platinum was my favourite Pokémon game but it just had So much to do.
For me was the original Blue version in the original Gameboy back in the late 90's here in Mexico. Since I was kid who was not able to read English, it was hard to complete things and was hard to complete the Pokedex because not everyone had a cable to transfer the Pokémon from the Red Version or the evolve Graveler and Machoke. I still have the cartridge with the all 150 pokemon, in those days was pretty much impossible to get Mew.
The fact that the first chansey you caught had a lucky egg is actually insane, if that was the first chansey you found too that’s unbelievable, I remember putting like 5 hours into this game and a box and a half of just chanseys before I got a lucky egg
First time I reached 999+ was in Heartgold, trying to be best at Pokeathlon and collecting the golden leaves. But taking shiny hunting into account I probably have ~1500h in ORAS, they are just too good 😌

I had pokemon sapphire on an emulator when I was about 7, and I probably put over 300 hours. But I never could beat the league, and before I did, my tablet broke. I had a super fun time and a bunch of silly memories playing with my sister who had and still has pokemon ruby emulator on her tablet. I few stories, our starters were WAYYYYY overleved and everyone else in our parties being levels 40-16 (16 was my hm slave tropious and skarmory for my sister) we traded version exclusives to each other, I lent her Kyogre because I saved after killing Groudon for her. Alas, Kyogre is on my broken tablet. I let he keep my lileep, and think goodness I did because it had POKERUS! but it was dead pokerus. But I gave her a Pokemon with ACTIVE POKERUS! then my sister found a shiny when we were playing hers more recently, and we have a pokerused shiny. Keep in mind I got the pokerused pokemon when I was 7. I didn't notice from what I can remember. We battles echother with our overleved starters. My sister won 9-0 because she started with mudkip and I torchic. We also did secret bases together, and if you didn't know, in a freinds secret base, an npc with their name and exact team will be there. I named myself may because I didn't want people to know my real name. I WAS SEVEN OK?! my team was Blaziken, delcatty, ludicolo, Kyogre, tropious, and one more I can't remember. In my mode, I didn't know you can breed Pokemon, so imagine my surprise when I left a delcatty and a waimer in a daycare. I miss those good old days.
I think the most for me was about 130 hours in Pokémon white. Gen 5 was my favorite generation and had a super fun post game. I haven’t enjoyed a Pokémon the same way since

Getting that shiny gible after black tower was always so satisfying. And defeating the gosh darn battle subway and the PWT. There was so much to do. I wish I could play again but I don’t know what happened to the cartridge):
My most played game is Pokemon Light Platinum. The story and this game itself was so addictive that i never got bored. I would love to see you make a 100h or just a normal vid on this game
I too have over 1k hours in emerald, I freaking love that game, but I’d have to say the one I enjoy playing the most is Pokémon black and white , either 1 or 2
My longest save has to be either Black 2 or X. They're 2 of the oldest saves I still have that I didn't lose or reset to replay the heck out of. Back then I had a good time just fighting the PWT or inverse trainer over and over.
I never had more than 100 hours in Pokemon, and I only ever made that once in Pokemon X. When I was a kid, I would just restart so I could play the story again.
I once played a Leaf Green playthrough with my cousin on our laptops and came across a shiny rattata before the point of the game when you can actually catch pokemon (so on the way to get oak's parcel)... That hurt man.
@austinjones7569 I'm currently on fire red, trying to get a lucky egg for that exp boost. Caught like 10 Chansey atm and nothing. 0.02% chance to get a Chansey in safari and the egg rip
My most played is Black 2, way over one thousand hours. It’s funny how the internal clock stops counting. Weirdly enough, I haven’t completed the national dex actually, but I was working on it.
I ain't first in the comments but zwiggo plays the best ROM hacks/modified pokemon roms and HANDS DOWN BLAZING EMERALD was my favorite and this rom hack may change that
I must've had about 300 hours on my longest Emerald game, with the postgame keeping me busy for years. On that save I remember pulling an all-nighter to finish the Elite Four and Champion when I was 11 (first time I ever did that, I saw the sun coming up and was shocked)
i remember picking pokemon gold back up once i gotten a bit older and better with english due to being stuck after whitney when i was young because i didnt notice i didn't get the badge at first and that i needed to talk to her again. altough the battery in the cartridge died, so it couldnt save anymore. so i just played it for ages finally beating it by just having it on all the time lol, was filling out the pokedex and just training up my pokemon, the timer on my profile was stuck at 999:59, then one day my sister wanted to play yoshis island and she went to our mum begging for it. she played it for 5 min and put it away :')
I remember putting over 100 hours on my original LeafGreen save file as a kid, simply because I couldn't beat the Elite Four when my only adequately leveled Pokemon was my Venusaur. I remember I essentially put myself in exile for years by grinding my entire team until the high 80s (my Venusaur was 90 by that point) while on the Sevii Islands. My original goal was to get my entire team to a point around that. My Venusaur at Level 90, Zapdos at 89, Pidgeot at 88, Pikachu at 87, Lapras at 86, and Flareon at 85. I never got Flareon that high though, as it was still in the 60s in my first Elite Four run.
My charizrard was lv 80, when i reached P.L, it never struggled to any pokemon, but it got deafeated by the last elite four, then i used ether for fire blast, since it was only effective against aerodactyl, and i defeated it easily, then gary's blastoise also not easy but i easily managed to defeated him, basically my charizard never struggled in the entire fire red except in the trainer tower which is too hard since i got feraligator lv 95 against my lv 96 charizard, i need to train my all pokemon to 90+ to win trainer tower.
Oh my charizard was also 80 lvl when i was first plwying fire red i didnt know the level of elite four but i knew that the where strong so i lvl up my charizard up to 80
I just have the most hours in all gen 3 games but mostly ruby, as a kid I didn’t know how to save it so i just played it over and over again picking mudkip every time.
Original pokemon blue was my game as a kid. Spent an entire week having a friend reset his game over and ovee again to trade an insane amount of starters. We used those to trade for almoat any pokemon we wanted, lunch money, toys, homework assignments basically whatever we wanted when the school year started. Great times
Funnily enough, the game I had the most hours in is pokemon battle revolution. Mainly because at the time I didn't own a copy of the gen 4 games and the only way young me could gain new pokemon to beat the post-game with is through trade battles so young me went on what I thought was an endless grind to get a competent fully evolved team with good moves to beat the game
I remembered when I was a kid I put around 2,000 hours on Pokémon Platinum, my dad didn’t bought me heart gold or soul silver so I battle all my friends in school and in the neighborhood w my lvl 100s pkmns, I was the king out of all my friends🥲I’m getting tears up remembering everything.
This is awesome. Can someone please explain to me how these guys play these games? Cause I would LOVE playing these rom hacks and all the different ways you can go about it 🙏🏽😭✨
look up how to use emulators and then look up how to patch GBA, DS, and GB games. Playing rom hacks is so much more fun and difficult than real pokemon games
I must admit love your vids man❤️ keep up the great work and I think I can speak for All mudkips, marshtomps and swamperts if I say we appreciate all the time you invest in those Videos and for the entertainment 👌🏻🤙🏻
I remember fighting the rival in the final fight after the elite 4 in the original red version, years back. I was at a family dinner and the battery on my Gameboy was dying, made only worse by my mother telling me to put it away
so pokemon is essentially a grindfest like world of warcraft. your success depends on how many hours you can grind or wait for rng events to happen in your favour
@@troublesome7482 that’s brutal. I was lucky I had quick balls with me to catch the abra. It was in heartgold by the day care. It’s been like 10 years and I still remember it so well lol

Easily put 1000 hours into my original copy of Gold, tens of thousands of encounters and no shiny. Now I’ve got 2 in less than 100 hours in BDSP, reckon my old GB cartridge was busted 😂
According to the time cycle used in some games, 100 irl hours would be 83 days and 8 hours. Your character basically did everything there was to do in the world in less than 3 months
Red when 11yrs old - a kid who likes pokemon and just got his 1st starter. Red when 11yrs and 1month - is the strongest trainer in the whole Kanto, only guy to complete his pokedex and is one of the strongest pokemon trainer to ever exist
pro tip if you want to stay in the safari zone forever just find a patch of grass and spin in circles without actually walking, the step counter only goes up if you take a step in any direction and not if you just face the different directions without moving. you can catch pokemon by just turning around forever.
I played emerald for 535:55 because I had a level 100 breloom blaziken doudrio and raquaza and I was emotionally attached to my breloom and couldn’t let go or grow berries no more
My original cart of Emerald has something around 430 hrs on it. I've not played it since X & Y came out. I would use it to transfer up pokes to the DS games (because dupe glitch OP) but after B2W2 you couldn't use a GBA game to transfer up directly, so I quit using it. I have over 300 of the pokes in the dex, god knows how many lvl 100s (no rare candy dupes), and I have like half of the frontier medals.
Fun fact : if playing on a pc with an emulator if you press x while the pokemon is evolving you can stop the evolution and then the pokemon will learn new moves quicker than usual
I dunno how much hours was put in Diamond (since it can no longer be read) but when me and my brother were kids, we put in a crapload of hours of it and even used Action Replay. Goodness. It is such a wild experience.

@@m.m.2341 I feel you. I had to buy White 2 just so that I could have my cake and eat it too
I never had more than 100 hours in Pokemon, and I only ever made that once in Pokemon X. When I was a kid, I would just restart so I could play the story again.
I once played a Leaf Green playthrough with my cousin on our laptops and came across a shiny rattata before the point of the game when you can actually catch pokemon (so on the way to get oak's parcel)... That hurt man.
I love how “extinguish thy flame” is such an iconic line- people in like 3 years are still gonna know that’s referring to Margit lol
Yep. You're right but this is two years later
@ lol I forgot I left this comment. True though
@austinjones7569 I'm currently on fire red, trying to get a lucky egg for that exp boost. Caught like 10 Chansey atm and nothing. 0.02% chance to get a Chansey in safari and the egg rip
Don't know what but something tells me this isn't the original Fire Red
7:28 best song of a video game sound track of all time
My most played is Black 2, way over one thousand hours. It’s funny how the internal clock stops counting. Weirdly enough, I haven’t completed the national dex actually, but I was working on it.
A ditto only run would be amazing. Any Pokémon game you wanna choose I’d fully support. COME ON DITTO !!!!!!!!
I ain't first in the comments but zwiggo plays the best ROM hacks/modified pokemon roms and HANDS DOWN BLAZING EMERALD was my favorite and this rom hack may change that
True
Hands down!
I don't know what's up with you, but this is literally just the original game with some exclusives added in hahaha
its crazy how such an old game has this amount of content in it
3:35 Damn , i never knew a moonstone was there is whole time.
Goat game. My biggest catch (well on leafgreen), was a shiny magmar. Never knew he existed until a random encounter on island 1
Zwiggo is very cool. So is Swampert. Good video.
They need to make another fire red style game.
With an online option too.
Pokémon let’s go
@@Goose707let’s go is dookie
@@IAMLEGIT2323 exactly we do not need another gen 1 game just re release fire red with online functionality
Out of all his 100 hour challenge he always fails to catch a shiny😂
For me it's Pokemon Shield right now, I have 500+ hours in the game and dynamax adventures is too addicting. XD
Oh my charizard was also 80 lvl when i was first plwying fire red i didnt know the level of elite four but i knew that the where strong so i lvl up my charizard up to 80
I just have the most hours in all gen 3 games but mostly ruby, as a kid I didn’t know how to save it so i just played it over and over again picking mudkip every time.
in my unbound save (on insane difficulty) I managed to finish with almost 400h of game time
Original pokemon blue was my game as a kid.
14:38 one time, all my attacks were missing against Bruno for some dumb reason, and he cross chopped my team into oblivion.
I love your content zwiggo. Thanks for being one of the best youtubers out there.
its not that serious
2:28 What a great man prof. Oak , he handed over his balls to help red!
Well done!
@@Thomascublangues thank you so much ! 🙏🏽
using water stone to make slowking? that's new to me i always get slowbro
This series is great! Keep it up!
so pokemon is essentially a grindfest like world of warcraft. your success depends on how many hours you can grind or wait for rng events to happen in your favour
The only shiny I’ve ever caught was an abra, I’ll never forget it
Mines a graverler and boom self destruct
I once encounterd a shiny bidoof before receiving poke balls in pokemon pearl
@@troublesome7482 that’s brutal. I was lucky I had quick balls with me to catch the abra. It was in heartgold by the day care. It’s been like 10 years and I still remember it so well lol
So glad I found this video! I’ve been playing this game and love it. I’ve been thinking about doing ROMs again and this was a perfect step back in as I LOVE FR it was my first game and the additions in this version make it even better
I've officially spent over 100 hours in Pokemon unbound 😂
BRO JUST BECAUSE YOUR VIDEO I WON THE ELITE FOUR! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Easily put 1000 hours into my original copy of Gold, tens of thousands of encounters and no shiny. Now I’ve got 2 in less than 100 hours in BDSP, reckon my old GB cartridge was busted 😂
i've spent a couple hundred hours in black 2 and i've completed the pokedex conquered black tower , conquered the pokemon world tournament .

Are we NOT gonna talk about that
Hello!

Hello
Hello
According to the time cycle used in some games, 100 irl hours would be 83 days and 8 hours. Your character basically did everything there was to do in the world in less than 3 months
✝️Pray and Repent to God before it's too late✝️
I've speed run fire red leaf green so many times with just blastoise, sandshrew and jolteon as my squad. Love it.
Ahhh Chansey, i remember catching 4000 trying to find a lucky egg. Found one and never played again
Red when 11yrs old - a kid who likes pokemon and just got his 1st starter.
Red when 11yrs and 1month - is the strongest trainer in the whole Kanto, only guy to complete his pokedex and is one of the strongest pokemon trainer to ever exist
Emerald. Battle frontier had me playing forever.
pro tip if you want to stay in the safari zone forever just find a patch of grass and spin in circles without actually walking, the step counter only goes up if you take a step in any direction and not if you just face the different directions without moving. you can catch pokemon by just turning around forever.
Oh nah, I'm only like 5 mins in but seeing you find that shiny Abra then the game crashing hurt my soul.
I played emerald for 535:55 because I had a level 100 breloom blaziken doudrio and raquaza and I was emotionally attached to my breloom and couldn’t let go or grow berries no more
ruby 340h, emerald 800h, diamond +400h, platinum 120h, Leaf green 500h. soul silver 155h. alpha sapphire 230h, Y 90h, red 9h, silver, crystal, gold +70h. Mystery dungeons Blue rescue team +10h.
=) I liked Pokemon games alot
You must love them a lot that all together is over 1000 hours bro touch grass no offense. I play a lot of Pokemon games
The amount of elden ring's references in this video is just immaculate
Yessssss. Vid on Fire Red. Will wait for more vids on Fire Red, and Emerald. Also thanks Zwiggo for choosing Charmander. He's my all time favourite
Zwiggo: Finds a shiny.
Save file: Adios
You should have used old rod to get shiny magikarp for the shiny challange
Fun fact : if playing on a pc with an emulator if you press x while the pokemon is evolving you can stop the evolution and then the pokemon will learn new moves quicker than usual
I´m so glad you´re okay. I was a bit worried about you
My man is gona be goh
I'll never forget the day I pulled the chair recliner handle and it crushed this game to pieces because it had some how fallen down in the crack 😭
back when i had no responsibilities i logged 960 hours on pokemon platinum
A shiny abra that early is bonkers, I'm 70 hours into fire red and have yet to get even 1 shiny
Back in the day I put over 550 hours into Pokemon Black version and now recently I have over 332 in Pokemon Sword.
I dunno how much hours was put in Diamond (since it can no longer be read) but when me and my brother were kids, we put in a crapload of hours of it and even used Action Replay. Goodness. It is such a wild experience.
My longest save file was definitely with Pokémon unbound Definitely had like 800 hours+ into there completed the Dex and found 20 shinies was very fun
