The flow is ABSOLUTELY top to bottom so the arrow needs to point down. The filters are directional so it makes a difference. It fits better installed correctly as well.
I have a 2012 Mini Countryman R60 and the cabin filter box does not look like what you are presenting. There are two tabs that release the door which hangs down. It is a very awkward position first of all for a fat man! I managed to get the left side unclipped but not the right side clip. It doesn't look like the model you are showing here. I am beginning to see more and presenters not give good data on what car they are changing the filter.
Yes, Richwolfson, is correct and his comments should be posted up top and video should be corrected. Air flow is top to bottom , arrow should point down!!! Down side has a little lip. and MANN filter # cu /cuk 4624 has a larger lip that goes into the narrow channel under the main channel.
WRONG! I just replaced my air filter for the second time and referred to this video again. I listened to this man last time and have come to find out that I had my air filter installed backwards. The airflow comes from TOP DOWN ⬇️ not up. This is inaccurate information and it’s probably the most important part.
It doesn't suck the air up!!! It comes in from the outside of the car and goes through the glove box!!?!?!?!? Typical common sense! Lol 🙄 no wonder I don't like to take me car into the garage if I don't have to! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Fantastic. I just got the car and the previous owner loved very fragrant Black Ice air fresheners. When I run the heat (chilly this morning) it smells like a perfume fiesta! Thank you! Off the the parts store. Freshness on the way! 🙏
Подскажите, частое срабатывание реле топливного насоса с интервалом около 3-5 сек , при включенном зажигании и не заведённом двигателе. С чего начинать поиск неисправности , Дастер 2016 года 2.0 бензин
All these cabin micro filter videos don't correlate with the air flow. Some say air comes into the cabin (arrows down) and others say air gets sucked in from the cabin (arrows up). Amazingly I looked up in the Mini Service manual and it doesn't even note air flow???? Does anyone know the correct air flow??? Thanks
Sir, Yes, the OE filters from MINI USA have the plastic rails and are made from the same materials as these OEM Filters represented here, we switched to these simple because for a lot of do-it-yourself individuals out there were having issues with the rails breaking upon installation, these do not display that problem.
Are you sure about the direction of the air flow,,,as every other video on RUclips says the air comes down,,and if you look at the old filters he debris is indeed on the top of the removed filters
I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S built 8/2006 Im not sure if its a R53 or whatever but i have changed the cabin air filter before.. the air flow is DEFINIITELY down from the air inlets to the box. The filter i just replaced had debris on the top and the arrow was pointing down as was the OEM filter.. The cover is easy to reach and pops right off when you release the clips.. the filter slides in but not easily .. its a crappy designed box ..
Yeah I just did this with OEM filters which aren't represented in this video. The OEM's have a plastic edge that feeds into the rails and is MUCH harder to put in than these flimsy paper filters. I had to use my hand to push on the end of the filter to feed it up into the upper area of the glove compartment.
I have a 2010 Mini Cooper S convertible and I live on a gravel road. I get copious amount of gravel road dust coming through my passenger air vent, the one closest to the passenger window. Do you have any suggestions for what might be causing that? Side note, I have my windows up and the air is on recirculate. Any help is much appreciated!
Bought my mini used, checked the filter today and it was clogged with dog hair, a couple bugs, and some leaves. My air blows so much harder with that filter out. I ordered a new one over a week ago but UPS mail innovations sucks.
This is because he is mounting it backward in the video...the rails are there for a reason: to make it hard to bend because they are supposed to be on the outside of the bend/pointing downward. It is even not structurally correct with the paper ones, as I saw the rails trying to come apart and kinking violently when bent the wrong way. It probably doesn't even function at 50% of the full quality of a correctly-mounted filter since it's backwards.
Just check how you get the filter out and put the New one the same way? (Would be my way of thinking😅) i do a lot myself, sometimes before i take my car apart, i take a video and pics, just to remind how i put it back together.. works like a charm.. my Cooper will be 22 years coming november 😅🍀
WRONG!! The air does not "come up from the floor". Air flow arrows need to point DOWN. You installed the filter upside down. Otherwise it was a decent how-to video. "E" for Effort.
I just wanted to thank you for the GREAT video!! I was just about to order a MANN-FILTER Cabin Filter for my 2008 and this is a big help!! Thanks for helping us DYI's with your years of experience! I can't wait to try it! ;-)

Yea lol
No kidding
A simple project... perhaps, but you put the filter in upside down.
Lol
Thanks mate

Was the glove box removed to access the filter housing?
Thanks a great how to video. Super easy, even this old fart could do it!
That's funny, he installed filter up side down.
he sure did
Lol
All other videos says the cabin air flow filter arrow should be pointing DOWN, not up
Yea, when I pulled mine out, there were leaves and crap from the top... he definitely doesn't understand the way the system operates.
@@DmOcRsI yea
ARROWS SHOULD POINT DOWN! ALSO THERE IS A LIP ON ONE SIDE OF THE AIR FILTER THAT IS SUPPOSE TO SIT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RAILS TO SLIDE UP.
Easy. I did mine "correctly" without even watching this video. lol

Just did mine and the instructions are so clear

Super descriptive, just the necessities. No extra guff. Love it. Thank you so much, you made that so simple for me, appreciate it so much!!
Just subbed! Good video! Thanks bro! Mine was so dirty it was unbelievable! Lol

He looks like he is a professional mechanic and he installs it upside down!?!?!? LOL WOW🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Thank you for this! Even a car idiot like myself can do this!
I just now replaced mine with AM paper unit from Pep Boys. Thanks for posting this video, it made a world of difference for me.
Great video...no bs and strait to the point.
Excellent video ! The best. You explain everything and this is the best video ever. That is a very professional video. Thank you
Thank you. Excellent video and information 👍👍👍👍
i did not change mine since 2004
loool
i will do it today
Lol, me too 😅
@jessellanos787 Yes, the Bosch filters are a great replacement for the OE filters that came in the MINI's.
Крутое видео👍🏼 спасибо большое было полезно!
Great video - thanks for the explanation on the two different filters too!
My 2013 mini on their snug. Flat head screwdriver mandatory. 4 inserts

And my wife just paid her dealer $90.00 to have this changed. Roadshow BMW Memphis...the best scam artists in the industry.

Please delete 🙏🏼I installed my air filter wrong because of the false instructions on this video. Please remake and I'll give a thumbs up 👍

Passenger side? The steering wheel is on the wrong side on the car in the video! 🇬🇧
Thanks for the vid, super helpful!!!

WRONG!!!
Thank you, this video helps greatly
Ha ha
actual instructions appear at 2:05
Thanks for this.
I wish you would do all the videos I watch for car stuff...
It seems not on the right track. 😒
Nice- the instruction is appreciated.
Great tutorial! Thanks!

I've had mine changed and now my car is very noisy inside the cabin, I can't now hear the engine, any ideas?
I agree with you. His information is incorrect but otherwise a pretty helpful video.
Thanks Clay, hahaha...
Whoever installed my cabin air filter before me thought the air came up from the floor too. Thanks for clarifying.
Does a dirty pollen filter affect my gas mileage?
minute 1:30 minute 2:05
I think the air flow arrows should be pointing DOWN.
Your video instructions are WRONG and wastes time. It appears your other videos are more accurate. To ensure your credibility, please revise.

Nice video! Just a couple of questions i had that were not answer.
he reminds me on the old man from the disney movie UP.
Awesome Video! Very clear. Thanks
