  • Watch me paint a simple, dreamy watercolour landscape with three colours: Payne's Grey, Olive Green, and Burnt Umber. I create texture by painting wet into wet, letting the colours mix on paper, adding water to a semi-dry wash, and dragging a brush loaded with paint across the dry paper.
    Materials used:
    PAINTS:
    Payne's Grey (Art Spectrum)
    Olive Green (Daniel Smith)
    Burnt Umber (Daniel Smith)
    PAPER:
    Baohong "The Master's Choice" 100% cotton 300 gsm cold press 18 x 26 cm (7 x 10 in) block
    BRUSHES:
    NEEF Thomas W Schaller Mops Sizes 3/0, 0, 4
    NEEF Alvaro Castagnet Needle Point Size 6
    Princeton Select Script Liner Size 10/0
    Panart 1102 Round Size 0
    Black Silver by Dynasty Rigger Size 4
    OTHER MATERIALS:
    squeezy pipette
    tissues
    pencil
    eraser

    My favorite loosing style! And real amazing watercolor! Thanks you, Anastasia! I didn’t paint last 2 years (I was very sick). I don’t know why to start again is so hard and difficult.
    But your paintings are inspired me, I guess…

    Love your style. Great tips and love to see you using "blooms" in your work. When I first started in Watercolor, all of my teachers told me to avoid blooms where ever possible. I think they can be used effectively in a watercolor painting and you more than proved my point. Thank you for sharing your art.

      @@AnastasiaMily I’ve really been trying to paint wet and loose. I put way to much detail in my paintings. I start out ok then my mind is looking for detail. I need to relax.

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  2 года назад

      It can be hard to let go - I am familiar with the looking for detail part very well. I find that if my original wash is very loose I tend to not overwork the painting later, so I pretty much let the watercolours go wild in the initial wash

    Love your style and the painting. While the text provided excellent information, I wish there would have been narration as to what you are doing, e.g. painting a reflection, painting what will become foliage, painting foreground/background, etc. Instead I see you painting a wonderful watercolor painting, but I have no idea the process until it's already done.

      Thank you for watching. I understand that this format does not work for everyone but this is the only one I can offer at the moment, sorry. I do not have a studio - I paint in my living room with my family around me, and there is constant background noise and distractions, so finding the time and the space for recording voiceovers for my videos is a challenge. The current format allows me to release a video every week, to continue sharing my love for watercolour and my knowledge of it with my viewers.

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  Месяц назад

      In case I misunderstood your question, and you meant the more detailed written narration - this one is one of my earlier videos. In my later ones I started providing more information on my process. Also, large areas of my landscapes are often semi-abstract and I don't really see that it is a reflection or a mass of trees until I finished laying down that wash. I hope this makes sense. Thanks again for watching 😊

I'd like to show a watercolor-painting process for beginners video that basically talks the viewer/audience through the painting. Beautiful soothing landscape. Are some of your paints granulated? I suspect they might be to get that nice granulated effect. Also, is the skipping at bottom portion of your painting simply dry brush strokes on a rough paper or did you use a stroke of wax across your paper to get the dry brush look? Again, lovely painting; thanks for the demo and the tip on controlling the planned blooms.

    Can you tell us what brand your red brush is? It has such a fabulous point to it. I love your tutorials. Loose watercolor painting is a real struggle for me.

      It is by an Australian brand called NEEF - you can see all the details in the description of the video. I love this brush!

    Great video! Are you intuitively adding and removing paint, or do you have a clear vision in your head when you start painting?

    • @AnastasiaMily
      @AnastasiaMily  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! I paint intuitively, without a clear vision, but I have my favourite colour combinations so that certainly helps when painting without a plan

    What are you using as a board rest it looks like an old cardboard packing piece

      It was a part of the packaging from our new washing machine 😄 Very handy. Something like this can be used daily made from a piece cardboard
