Even halfway through it looked so beautiful and intriguing. I'm more of a realistic artist but definitely will try this. The end result is really amazing! Thank you for the video ❤
Fantastic to watch, I’m sure you’ve been painting for many years which is why your work and how you manipulate the colours on the page work so well. It’s frustrating as an artist when I watch others do their work and then try to emulate it, it doesn’t look as good and then I feel like I’ve failed. As they say, “practice makes perfect.” Thank you sharing.
Remember, too, that your painting isn't supposed to look exactly like the person's in the video. It is supposed to look a little different because everyone has their own painting style with how they do their brushstrokes and patterns😊
This is just perfect and creative! Thank your so much :) If you have capacities, I'd love to watch more of this spontaneous painting. It's very inspiring to me!
Thank you so much Kristin. I've just started a new color palette and I've been trying to decide how to do the color studies for each of the pigments that I've chosen. Along with loose swatches that explore the color and then loose swatches with some of that color's "friends" this idea of a spontaneous landscape to practice and use the key color and its friends to build a spontaneous landscape.
I love the blend of colors you used. I have that paper. It is very heavy! Now I have something to use it for! Thanks, I really enjoyed this tutorial ❣️🥰
Of course you will, persist and have faith 🤗 it might take long or it might be quick, but as long as you dont get in your own way, you will get there (and will enjoy the heck out of it, which is the most important)
Question: I've not seen any RUclips videos that talk about what's done with the painting AFTER it's created. By that I mean do you frame it? Do you mat and frame? Do you mat your own? Do you think about the size before selecting the size paper for the piece? Any information about this would be greatly appreciated as I have stacks of paintings, some I'm happy with many I'm not (I've only been doing watercolor for a year now) that I might like to do something with, I think. 🙂
Hi! Sometimes I sell them or give them to friends or frame them for myself. I typically paint in framable sizes like 5x7”, 8x10” etc. and I often use them as cards and write on the back
Jus a little quesrion thank you How do you spare the sheets of paper from the block? I think i get the same but mine are glu together. Merci from Western Australia
Are you asking how to remove the painting from the glue? Once the painting has dried there’s a little space on the pad that isn’t glued down and you can slip something underneath (like the end of a paintbrush) to release the one page from the block. My block game with a separator tool so that’s what I use
Do you know anyone in Yuma who gives watercolor painting lessons? I have checked with the art museum and they knew of no one, which surprised me. I'd appreciate it if you can share some information with me. Thanks.
I would say it’s very similar. Intuitive painting to me is knowing how to paint something without over thinking so your brush strokes are more organic. There are definitely parts of that in this painting. Where a painting becomes more spontaneous I think is when you let the colors flow and there’s not really anything you can do but go with it. Less about your knowledge and more about experimenting with flow and seeing what happens. That’s just how I view it!
And now for me to spontaneously attempt to recreate this exact spontaneous landscape painting! 😆
Exactly my thoughts😂
I hope someday I can paint half as beautifully as you do!
Gorgeous painting! Thank you for the amazing video! 💖🖌️✌️
I loved this painting every step of the way!
This is beautiful, a little mysterious!
Thank you for this! It is so beautiful and one of the most helpful videos!

Yes I feel like a limited palette was made for spontaneous paintings. Enjoy!

Thank you so much Kristin for that spontaneous art piece
Thank you Sandy!
Thank you for this! I've been looking at trying something like this to help me loosen up. 😄
Thank you! This is so insightful and helpful 🎉
Beautiful!!
I wonder if I will ever get to the point that the water and the colours are letting me know what to do ...
Of course you will, persist and have faith 🤗 it might take long or it might be quick, but as long as you dont get in your own way, you will get there (and will enjoy the heck out of it, which is the most important)
No kidding.
This is gorgeous, thank you for sharing! ❤
Love it!
Love this👩🎨

Thank you

Elinize emeğinize sağlık, merak ettim; bu manzarayı doğaçlama mı yapıyorsunuz yoksa esinlenerek mi ?
Total improvising based on how the colors flow
@@kristinvanleuven aman Allahım bu müthiş, bravo

Use a letter opener/knife.
Putting in darker rock structure in the foreground took away focus from the beauty of the spontaneous layout. An overworked painting has resulted.

I thought this was called intuitive painting? 🎨🖌️
