Whatever the beads will go over Jillian! Probably an embroidery 10 or 9. Check out my video on how to choose the right needle size if you haven't seen it
AWESOME !!! I've got a project I'm doing this month and I've found a bead I'm wanting to use on it and the sheaf stitch would be perfect for it ;) The star stitch looked like it would annoy me because of the movement ;( Thanks for sharing ;D
Always a new ideas to use beads and threads with embroidery! Thank you,Sarah! I’m going to learn from you from quite awhile. I living in Florida right now and I disabled with Stroke( 5 yrs ago) so I have to try to use with my R hand - and fingers are ok but more harsh and difficult to use with needles and thread.; we shall see.
Sorry to hear you have been poorly Sandra, I admire your determination to carry on with your stitching. If you want to add some beads, they come in lots of sizes, get some big ones! x
Yes also sometimes called lazy daisy stitch Robin. I tend to think of lazy Daisys as being made from detached chains (a group together is a lazy daisy, one or two on their own are detached chains!). Blanket stitch and buttonhole stitch are worked in the same way except in blanket stitch the stitches are much wider apart
With your star stitch, it is similar to Ross stitch only we would put the bead on the third stitch and then straddle the threads on both sides of the bead for the fourth stitch and that keeps the bead in the centre. Love your videos!
I think for the star stitch if we can add thd bead on the 3rd time cross then whdn we cross for the 4th time, the bead can be fixed better and does not move much. What is your thoughts.thx.
Sarah, I realize that some of your videos are older ones, but they are very fresh to me. I've seen all these stitches in the past and you make it look brand new. And your voice is very calming, which I need these days. I'm 66 and I love to collect dolls! So now, I'm also a sewist and every technique is a plus for me. Thank you for your videos, they are fabulous!
Your videos are so fun to watch. I’m starting a sampler to learn stitches I can use in a crazy quilt. Thanks so much for your wonderful lessons. ❤
I was wondering what type and size needle are you using please?

Is the stitch that you’re called the detached chain stitch also a lazy daisy? And the one before it, is that a blanket?
