I've just started learning embroidery and I was lucky enough to find your videos. You are absolutely deLIGHTful!!!, and extremely helpful. The ginger cat in one episode was particularly helpful! :) Thank you for all the work you do!
I know we can see your hands while working but I found myself reminding myself periodically through the video that these circles are only about the size of a fingernail! Your videos are very useful and also calming and as a bonus you somewhat remind me of a late friend of mine :) thanks as always Sarah
Did I loose you? Its great to have both your experience and visual with yr teaching- makes such a difference !!and well done- Details are more reasonable and more Beautiful. Thank you🥰Sarah!
I enjoyed and learned the more details of the variety of circles- Watching you makes the circles shows us more how to use with more details and colors- i,e, thickness, direction and how to start in the middle, etc. . Varieties! Showing us with demonstrations make it clearly to do with types of thread and needles- Sarah, you give us a full visual understanding with yr words and video- Thank you! Wish i had this when I was learning 56 years ago😂🥰
Sarah, your videos are wonderful + I'm learning SO much! I was wondering what you use to trace your circles to begin with? Do you draw them freehand? I'm a bit of a disaster when it comes to drawing for my embroidery (especially circles!). Any ideas?
I tried embroidery 🪡 last week and it wasn’t pretty, not as easy as it looks , it might be my needle 🪡 so ordered some special ones on Amazon. Love ❤️ your work . I was working on cotton dress fabric maybe 🤔 that’s an issue .
It takes practice Soul like anything worth doing, so don't be hard on yourself! Cotton fabric is good to use, but yes make sure you have good quality needles; we have good ones in the shop on our website here: www.sarahhomfray.com/myshop/cat_264747-Embroidery-Equipment.html. You also need to make sure you use the right needle size for the thread you are using so check out our video on that here: ruclips.net/video/u1sSpWLJq6E/видео.html We have a whole section on the website all about beginning embroidery with links to useful videos so do stop by and have a look at that: www.sarahhomfray.com/beginners-embroidery-a-guide-on-how-to-get-going-in-this-beautiful-craft.html
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery Thank you. If you were using stranded threads, what would be the number of threads that would work the best? For DMC floss, for example?

Try a compass or a circle template Patty! The prick and pounce method is very accurate

What is the diameter of the eyelet wheel?
Thanks for this video. Can you tell me what type of floss do you use and how many strands?
I didn't use a stranded thread in this video Eve, I used a Madeira Lana which is a twisted wool/ blend fibre
