Glad you added the seed beads on each side of the bugle bead, most people don't know to do this to keep the sharp edges of the bugles from cutting the threads.
It's the first time I'm patiently listening to a "how to stitch" in all those beautiful ways, and actually learning. You're amazing. 💜💚💙 Thank you so much for being my teacher.
Good afternoon Ms Homfray, thank you 🙏🏾 so much for your easy step-by-step bead stitching your teaching so understanding and easy. Thank you 🙏🏾. Much peace & Love ❤️
i just finished making a doll outfit that's a solid color and have some seed beads that are of a similar color along with white, black and chrome.....i knew i wanted to embroider beads onto it and i do know how to do basic beadwork, but this was helpful to make a more flower like pattern on it that i originally had in my head.
Hello, I just came across your tutorial today as I plan to put some bead embroidery on a plain red dress, you make it look so easy, thank you for you for your video and listeninh to your voice is so relaxing.
amazing! i received a printed fabric purse and have a bunch of seed and bugle beads (i now know what these are called! thank you for improving my vocabulary!) and will use them to add some bling to my dull purse 👛 💎!!! thank you!
Thank you for this! I just started trying embroidery in general and decided to embroider a fish using beads. This was super helpful. I think I’ll do those offset rows of back stitches to make it look more like scales ☺️
Thank you so much for that Sarah. After watching just a few of your videos I've started embroidering once again and was thinking that it been about 50 years since I did any, it's like knowing how to do it but the ex-skill won't transfer to my old fingers now. However, thanks to your lovely videos I'm learning once again.
Thanks for the refresher course. I am thinking of embellishing some black tank tops. I have too many black ones. I have one that I bought a long time ago with beads and floss at the scoop neckline. So I decided I needed to do others with sequins and/or beads to dress them up. Your tutorial is excellent and I know I won't have any trouble getting back into this craft with your help. Dawn
I really am excited to start my first slow-stitch project and these beaded stitches will be beautiful to incorporate. I also want to try some simple stump work.
Can you make a lengthy video about types of fabric to use for bead/sequin embroidery and demonstrate it on the fabrics? Btw, THANK YOU SO MUCH for zooming it really close!!
Fascinating 😊 I never thought of using embroidery thread. Finding you is a very pleasant surprise …*Happy Dance* … I’m excited to go see your other content . Thank you 💐
Beautiful tutorial! Can I ask what fabric you are using? Thanks again for your lovely stitching lessons and I’m off to watch your second bead stitch video!
There's probably about 3 colours in there Tresa! I tend to put a base colour on then put different sparkly ones over the top. When it starts to wear off I stick another coat of another colour on!
Very helpful, thank you! What do you use to mark your fabric? Dressmaker’s chalk pencil? Also, can beaded embroidery be machine-washed (?gentle / wool cycle), or must it be hand-washed?
It's a verstaile table clamp Tina, check out our video on them (just search versatile table clamp) and you can buy from our online shop (www.sarahhomfray.com)
Thanks!
Thank you Kelsey x
I’m here for my prom dress it needs some bling so this will hopefully help wish me luck
Did you end up blinging out your prom dress? I'd love to see it! ❤

I don't Angela, but you could just follow the video!

What are the types of thread to use for this project
I used Madeira Lana (Burmilana) thread for this, you can see them here Doka Style:

Very helpful, thank you! What do you use to mark your fabric? Dressmaker’s chalk pencil? Also, can beaded embroidery be machine-washed (?gentle / wool cycle), or must it be hand-washed?
See my videos on How to transfer a design, and Pens for embroidery Linda. I would hand wash anything with beads on
Creating different textures with beads is also a great tip. There are so many options that I was not aware of. I keep adding to my posts sorry
Beautiful work! Could you tell me what kind of embroidery stand you are using. I have only used a hoop and would like to get a nice stand.
It's a verstaile table clamp Tina, check out our video on them (just search versatile table clamp) and you can buy from our online shop (www.sarahhomfray.com)
Be patient this takes practice. I use a ruler and evenly dot exactly where the stitches go in. It really helps...
What thread is best to do the work in a denim jacket?
Any thread you like Josna it's more about using the right needle! Check out our video on how to do this is you aren't sure
How do you set up your work station to protect your back?
