  • In this video, I teach you the basics of flat stitch, also known as bead applique or bead embroidery. This is the single needle technique that I show you using large pony beads as a visual aid then again with size 8/0 seed beads.
I'm using these big pony beads to demonstrate, they're great for practicing your technique before using tiny seed beads: kit.co/thewhol...

So, while you're beading (forgive me if this is a stupid question) you only use one string to bead. Correct? You didn't tie the ends together, so it looks like 2 strings. (If that makes sense)

Yep, that's correct. One string that's not tied so the beads can go around the needle

      Yes,
There is also the option of double needle flat stitching
      But, if you’re lost-
what you can do is tie a knot at the very end of your threat before you put on beads, essentially, tie a knot, thread the needle through your fabric, I recommend leaving a tail from the knot to prevent unraveling and weaving it in later, after your needle has gone through then lay your beads on

why 6 beads at the start is that the maximum you should do at one time or is there no limit?

6 beads is the max that I would work with at once using the single needle method. More is a bit too much to manage and keep neat. However, I prefer two needle method which allows for more beads at once. It’s a bit more tricky though.
