Currently completing my Textiles and Design Major Work for my HSC, with lots of beading. This was very helpful - had no idea you could do so many beads at a time! I was going to do them all singularly so this was a lifesaver

Loved this video. It's been years since I've done embroidery and cross stitch. I did lots of embroidery, cross stitch and 1 strand petit point. Glad I learned so many skills years ago. I didn't do a lot of beadwork, but am definitely inspired to create with beads, embroidery and other mixed textures.

I love bead work. I never thought about couching beads until I saw one of your videos a while ago. It has saved me soooo much time.
And you got me in sequins. Which I have discovered are fantastic for creating scales on fish.
You can add a bead on top of a sequin for another effect, like you demonstrated with the doughnut 🙂

Thank you so much for that Sarah, it was wonderful, and such a lovely design too!. Beadwork is something I have always looked at from afar, thinking how nice it is, but never understanding how to use it so interestingly in an embroidery setting, your 'embroiderers collection' of useful bead techniques has as ever inspired me, but now - and "oh what a personal disaster" (throwing my hands up in gleeful mock dismay) - I will need to go and buy myself a bead stash!!!!xx

Hi Sarah, you are going to have a wee giggle at me. I downloaded your design of this one, and thought well I will just stitch it with cotton, as a practice piece, however, even though my eyes are on straight, new glasses and all, it does not look a lot like your version at all. Even though I looked at it several times before I started so I could see where to start as I am sure others do. I have created a different design. I actually love yours, but you know what I love my effort too. No beads at this stage, but I might fussy it up a bit at the end.

Hi Sarah to you have any recommendations for fabrics which would be suitable for lots of embroidery and beadwork? I've chosen to embroider my own dress for my wedding next year but I'm struggling to find a fabric sturdy enough. I just tried silk organza recently when I did a stitch sample and found the fibers moved around a lot leaving holes or the threads would pull the weave of the fabric open slightly, even when stitching as lightly as I could. I've ordered some illusion tulle sample to test next but I was wondering if you might have some recommendations to narrow down my fabric search 🥰

Hi Sarah! I'm working on a slow-stitch journal cover and these ideas are super. One question - does it matter the order in which beads are worked? For example, should I do all the stitching on a project and then add beads, or can I move from area to area as you are doing here? I am going to try the lovely pattern you have gifted us. It would make a lovely center medallion on a journal.
