      Mixing threads in the needle can look lovely Laura, just try not to mix secondary colours because you will get brown when you look at it from a distance!

    The tip about using the needle to check if your lines line up at 13:29 is fantastic! The Trellis stitch is so pretty, I can't wait to try it.

    Sarah, is there a maximum area size for the trellis stitch? If you have a larger shape can you do it in smaller units?

    I so much needed this a few weeks ago when trying to decide how to fill in a balloon with something that's not too solid. I ended up using seed stitch. But I am in love with the trellis stitch you showed us here - I need a project to use it 😆 Thank you, Sarah!

    It looked to me as if you were using just two strands of floss to do the cross-stitch on the trellis. Is that right?

      I think so Marin, these stitches are small so a finer thread will show up the stitch more

      The Bokhara couching is nice mazaima! See the peacock video with 5 stitches for solid shapes. You can make whatever pattern you like with the holding stitches...

    I loved this video Sarah, thank you. My favourite has to be the trellis work, just lovely. It is only recently that I have been taking a real interest in Crewel work as the variety of stitches and effects one can achieve is really lovely. Some wool threads can be a bit challenging, but your Lana thread is excellent.

      It's a stranded cotton Syberre, probably Anchor in a turquoise colour!

    I have watched several of your videos and have been inspired to start cross stitching again. I joined a cross stitching group on FB too. I originally started cross stitching in my late teens into my early 20's. I had no one to teach me. I learned on my own. Turned away from stitching fir many years. Then I saw your tutorials. I am back to stitching again. Thank you for your guidance. So much easier than before 😊❤

      I used the prick and pounce method and gold paint but look out for next weeks video for real gold edgings!

    Sarah what a fun way to fill in shapes. Am definitely trying these stitches after completing the leaves.
