      @@dillonm6777 Don't be offended. It's a known fact that a Honda Civic is often seen in some of the most dull and drab colors for a car. At least the vivid "Highlighter Yellow" of this particular Honda Civic helps the driver stand out from the crowd instead of blending in. An added bonus of a bright color like this is that you will never have any trouble spotting your Honda Civic in a parking lot ever again.

    Owner perspective: the head unit is fine. It drives way more expensive than it is. The interior definitely lacks on storage space, even with the big center console because the sliding cup holders take up so much of that space. The car is quick, handling blows me away, fuel economy is great even with the turbo. I got 43 mpg on an 800 mile trip with lots of hills at around 70-80 mph, and average 32-35 each tank, mostly suburban driving. I have the hatchback and would recommend it because it blacks out all of the chrome and plastic trim, and the trunk space is always useful. I bought it thinking that it was kind of ugly but it has 3000% grown on me.

  • @brianwinkler8183
    @brianwinkler8183 5 лет назад +7

    I still like my '16 Touring sedan. I replaced the OEM 215s with 225s and my mileage has dropped a little, but still gets 38-40 mpg on mostly highway driving. The performance is surprisingly good and will definitely get out of it's own way. I find the safety tech WAY too aggressive and turned off lane keeping assist and collision mitigation, as it almost got me into a wreck vs preventing. Good value overall. Thanks for the updated review.

    I like this new Tonic Yellow but... I loved the Energy Green colour!
    I think the coupe is the best looking Civic right now, the taillights are so awesome and they really look great at night!
    That being said I owned a 2016 Honda Civic EX-T, I live in Canada so I had oil dilution, I was in and out of the dealer constantly that winter and they couldn't figure it out. I got rid of it before the issue was made public and saved myself from the hit the resale value took. I never thought I would have to say that about a new Honda, I was very disappointed so I got a 2017 Mazda 6, and it's way more reliable. I hope they fixed the issues for 2019+.

    • @caglioso
      @caglioso 5 лет назад +2

      Good points. I never experienced the dilution issue in mine (knock on wood) but it is something I worry about. Very surprised Honda would have such a huge mistake in one of their most widely used engines.

    • @Drskopf
      @Drskopf 5 лет назад +3

      There's a mechanic RUclipsr called Scottie kilmer channel, he explained the issue with the oil dilution in modern cars, is not just Honda!! I recommend check his video out

    • @ljpr360
      @ljpr360 5 лет назад +3

      @@caglioso It's more likely to happen during short trips where the engine doesn't get to fully warm up, and especially in cold climates, like Canada half the year. If it really just is a tuning issue great but still foolish, Canada is one of the biggest Honda Civic markets. It's been Canada's #1 selling car for 20 years in a row. If you live in a city you can't go a day without seeing multiple Honda Civics. Honda needs to remember their roots and refocus on quality and reliability. They need to do better for their customers. I hope yours turns out to be traditional, reliable Honda.

    Thanks for your review, but please remember the Honda vehicles are not luxury class or sports class. Fake vent are to break up design and plastic to be light weight. Reviewers complain about touch volume control while they don't live with every day... while us owners get accustomed to using it and not an issue to talk about or discourage buying or leasing... which I'm disappointed Honda change for you reviewers, not us customers.

I stopped to get gas the other day and some random woman and her husband were asking all kinds of questions. Things like " what is this? It's a Civic, omg is it brand new?" 😆 I explained it's a 2019 with 27,000 miles, the 11th gen has been out for a year now. They couldn't believe my car is 4 years old. Absolutely love the coupe, it's a Shame Honda didn't bring it back for 2022. I fear soon all car will be sedans and all look like Jettas lol.

      Same. I'm still in love with the Coupe body but have the 2016 Accord Coupe 6MT. It's a shame but the market continues to speak. I'm trying to convince myself to consider a Civic but something about the V6 just feels nicer to drive, even though the CVT is a much smoother experience. The fake-shifting is just...yuck though.

    • @micglou
      @micglou 5 лет назад +1

      Ehhh, no. The hump is there because the platform this Civic is built on actually could be easily made into RWD or AWD... they're probably not going to do this with the Civic (although a AWD version of the Type-R would be awesome). The platform most likely is going to be used for different models that do have AWD. A lot of manufacturers do this today, they build a platform that they can use for as many models possible to keep production costs as low as possible.

      @@joshroberts6459 I explain to you in fairly technical detail about the platform and you doubt if I've ever seen one from the underside? You're really trying... The Type R does use the space to accomdate the larger pipe for the exhaust, but that's the exception. The space is actually much larger if you'd unbolt the shroud. It can be clearly seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/EqC_Xoz-Lqw/видео.html

      @micglou 5 лет назад

      @@setdecinmotion6719 Even the non-sport models have the exhaust piped through the hump, but just because it's there and not used for this model. The hump is actually much bigger than it needs to be for an exhaust, take away the heat shielding and and much wider and deeper 'hump' is revealed. It is... (and you can look this up, it's in the design of this platform)... to accomodate AWD on different models built on the same platform. Hopefully because they're going to make an AWD Civic (fingers crossed), but the CR-V is also built on this same platform and guess what the hump is used for on the AWD versions? I wasn't going to pull this card because it tends to be the subject of even more disbelief and discussion... I work for a Honda dealer, I actually know this stuff.
