@Ricky Dominik Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I currently have a 2008 civic with over 250k miles on it. It’s my first car and it’s treated me so well. Nothing but the usual upkeep on a vehicle. I will be upgrading to an Accord within the next two months!
There's no doubt in it. Civic is the best car in it's class. You do have cheaper offerings from nissans and toyota but Civic is just a different class. A class above all, also stay away from american sedans.
I don't think it's better than new Mazda. That car has interior on par with much more expensive cars and it was so refined during my test drive. And it has real gearbox and available AWD. Civic is faster in straight line, only real advantage it has.
@@thedriver5462 What will you do with all that interior decorations with cramped space? People want practicality, performance and reliability which the civic easily does it.
Quick sidenote: Neither the temp or fuel gauge are "digital." They are both old-fashioned pure analog. Its just that the illuminated needle shines behind a segmented plastic faceplate to simulate LED segments. You can actually see the needle in between segments.
They are the best used cars I’ll wait another 10 years till my 07 civic si breaks and I’ll buy another civic si probably for 10k again and keep driving a reliable cheap car
The car is much quieter if you drive in the recommended D position, not the S holding the gears like you did the entire video. Other than that great review.
Just did the same thing. Had an 2016 EX and went to 19 same trim. You don't have to get the touring because the Ex now comes with leather wrapped steering wheel, heated seats and the safety suite options.
I've been thinking about getting this car but have heard soooo much negativity about the CVT transmission and it really makes me hesitate to buy it. Beautiful car....
I bought a used white 2016 Civic Touring sedan last year for my daily work car and I absolutely love it. This refreshed 2019 Touring sedan is sharp although I actually prefer the wheel design of the 17" alloys on the '16 and '17 Touring Civics to these 18" wheels.
I think the new Kia Forte has the best CVT in the business, and second best interior in this class (Mazda 3). But the Civic is nice and I like the turbo in this. It's a good time to be a compact car shopper!
Honda cars arw very reliable... my dad had a civic 03 and i even drive it up to this day... though i upgraded to mazda 3 i switched again to this year's civic.
My coworker gives me a ride home when she closes with me at night in her grey Civic LX sedan, and even that is nice. But the Honda Sport Sedan would be my choice, but I am almost sure I will opt for the HR-V Sport at about the same price, albeit 20 less HP and Alpine having the powered subwoofer made for the Civic. Honda gets zonked for not putting the same upgraded radio and speakers in the Sport Hatchback, along with the push button start/keyless entry, and Goodyear Eagle Sport tires over the Continentals, though the latter is not a biggie. The non turbo 2.0L is more reliable than the turbo as I mentioned many times. Like the Hatchback, the Sedan should have a Sport Touring Trim with all of the Sport trim things, plus all the bells and whistles added like the sunroof, power adjust seats, leather, turn signal outside mirrors and such.
Man I just subscribed. Love the well in depth reviews. You have a great passion for what you are doing. I must say the civic looks better than the Accord. I agree with you that the front looks great with the black trim on grill instead of chrome.
I got the LX the other day. I had to make hard choices, it being a lease deal I could not change things. I hate hate hate on alloy wheels and rubber band tires. I wanted steel wheels and relatively high profile tires. Only the LX has that "good" feature so appealing to we sensible 65 year old guys. But the LX has a truly terrible and tiny LCD screen and no right lane monitoring. Those are the big downers for me. But overall I am happy. The car is zippy and solid. In hindsight I might have instead got the EX but for the thin tires and did I say (yeah) I hate on alloy wheels so easy to damage in a city street pothole or curb. It's such a sadness if you aren't super careful and then you hit a lousy hole and shred a tire sidewall and bend a rim edge. If I were buying the car I would have gotten the EX and traded out the wheels for LX steel wheels. Steel is so much stronger and slightly higher profile tires are worth the handling trade-off because they act more like tires and less like rolling pencil erasers on corrugated cardboard. PS: when you hit 65 you don't turn stupid. You just see the brick wall ahead in total detail.
Low profile with alloy rims are not a good combo with any road imperfections. I live in an area where pot holes are common and the local tire shops print money. The only thing worse is when you add run flat to the mix. These tires are stiff and transfer the damaging energy more efficiently to your soon to be scrapped rim.
I love the Honda Civic. My daughter had one she was so fascinated with it. So I am getting ready to buy me a New Honda Civic SUV. I need the extra space in mine. What we loved about it, was speed, mirror whereby you can see behind you when you turn, and When you back up you can see where you backing. I just "Love It". It is really, really, quiet.
Bought the 2019 EX Sedan a month ago. First car and I love it to death. Its aggressive, practical, and has enough power to he fun. The 1.5T is definitely faster than most people would assume.
I love the subtle refresh of this for the sedan and coupe. I'm really happy that they made the grille black for every civic model and trim. The only zonk I have is still no exposed exhausts except on the sport trim. I have a 17 civic coupe ex-l in energy green and looking to trade up to a 19 in the touring trim. I do have the chrome grille on my model and I'm not the biggest fan of it. The upgraded motor in the higher trims are 100% worth it. I'm sad to see the energy green gone but I'm really liking the tonic yellow! Hopefully if you ever get your hands on the yellow coupe you can do a review on it! Great and informative review as usual!
Good video, however one interesting thing is that that said that Honda could have done a little but more with those rims, when they look aggressive and and heavily styled like all of Honda’s most recent rims. If you take a look at other cars in the same segment their rims are not as good looking or intricate
I seem to love this vehicle but only thing that keeps me away from it is the direct injection. I hear the engines suffer from carbon building up on the intake valves.
If it has the 1.5 turbo engine run away as fast as you can. Honda Inc and the dealership will tell you the ecm update isnt needed if you live in a "warm weather" state (won't even do the update if You offer to pay for it). At 3000 miles on my oil changes (which is done at the dealer) my oil level will be completely above the orange plastic tip of the dipstick and smell just like gasoline (guessing near a quart of gasoline in the oil pan) yet they will say NORMAL for this engine. Honda corporate has been completely Americanized and could care less about the $28k you paid for a vehicle with faulty programming . Supposedly this oil dilution issue can be fixed with new ecm programming so I can't say the engine is defective (like my original post said). We DO take plenty of long drives in this vehicle so it is not related to short drives nor cold temps like Honda says. 2018 CRV-ex is what we have
The current generation of Civics are too low. Used to be a practical car for all ages, now for the over-50 crowd it's a long way down. Otherwise it's a good car. I do like when you review sedans.
Agreed. My ex bought the very first 2016 top of the Touring and this was one of my number of complaints about this car. I like my Mazda3 Grand Touring. Higher off of the ground, better sound system and real automatic transmission to name a few things.
I have Honda Civic 1.5 182 HP with manual transmission, very good car :) It's nice that you already have a facelift version in the US. In Europe, this car will be available probably at the end of the year.
Yo Yo Raiti wuts up man?! Love your videos, as always. I like this car, I may like to have one when I’m 80. Until then, I’ll stick to proper civics like my 18 Si coupe. BTW a good fix for those terrible armrests is a nice plush black folded towel. Sounds lame, but who cares, it works
The problem with Honda cars is they are not very stylish cars and its not a car that owners can brag about. But this Civic is little bit better. Has a character and its appealing. Only downside is that there are too many of them out there.
I live in Chicago Illinois and I'm trying to buy a new vehicle. But it snows here and I need a vehicle that does not stop me from the snow this is probably not the right choice even though the gas mileage and the maintenance right?
I agree with the seats being low I really like the civic but I’m 6ft to get out of that it’s not easy for me I own a 2017 sonota and I already hate how low that car is
You love to talk about these armrests. I think it is because you drive a manual. As someone who is right handed, and have never driven a manual as a daily driver, my right hand is always on the steering wheel. You use your left hand like i use my right hand to drive, and you feel the need to rest your right arm on that center console. I think this is why you notice this center console as a poor place to rest your arm. I end up resting my left arm up on the top of the door by the window glass, rather than the actual armrest on the door. If you think about the mass of people who are buying these civics with the CVT, they’re probably on the same boat as me. Mostly right handed, mostly never driven a standard trans vehicle. I own a 2016 sedan and am seriously considering upgrading to an SI as soon as the 2020 changes are revealed. Maybe then i’ll know your pain
Raiti's Rides thanks for your extensive coverage on the broad civic genX lineup. This car is everywhere now. i think these videos will be important for many years to come for future used market buyers
That had to be the shortest exhaust review ever...or did I miss the sound😂 I do like the looks of the Civic except for the "cromagdon man" front grill look. Also the trans, come on Honda, DCT>CVT.
I bought the 2020 civic sport sedan with the manual transmission and 2.0 port injected naturally aspirated engine. The perfect daily driver, and by far the most reliable way to buy a 10th Gen Civic 👍🏻
Cause they don’t like the way the cvt transmission sounds and they can have some issues especially with longevity. Cvt = continuous variable transmission
Well, at lest they hide the vacuum cleaner exhaust tip on this one 😂 😂. I know the civic has always been a great car, but I miss the older models from my younger days, the SI coupe, the hatchback....seems like it’s getting uglier every year on the outside....with the exception of the Type R. Great video Joe
I bought my 2020 Civic Sport Sedan with the manual transmission and naturally aspirated engine. The manual is so incredibly easy to drive, even in traffic and it’s more engaging to drive. Clutch is ultra light and not tiresome at all. A perfect daily driver 👍🏻
Unless Honda has resolved the enormous a.c. failure issue found in many prior years' Honda Civics and other Hondas, buyer beware. Do your homework, research a.c. issues in Hondas, the magnitude might shock you. I own a 2016 Honda Civic Touring, purchased brand new March 2016, current mileage: 12,000. Car looks brand new, has always been garaged and received excellent care. Car has constant a.c. issues. Dealership is cooperative and has over the past 3 months tried to resolve the issue, but issue is not resolved so the car is not reliable even in cold weather - a functioning a.c. system is required for defroster use. Dealing with Honda Corp is a waste of time and very frustrating. I may be forced to trade this car which means I will lose money, plus then the car will be resold and therefore become someone else's problem and that really bothers me. Thoroughly educate yourself before buying any car. carcomplaints.com is a good place to start comparing - WISH I'D DONE SO BEFORE I bought my 2016 Civic. I have little to no confidence in purchasing a Honda ever again. Based on all my research because of my own Civic's a.c. issues I know exactly what make/brand I WILL buy. I might be headed there soon.
I have a 2014 Honda Accord Ex-l coupe V6, It has the starter issue and Honda won't recall, also complaints on the starter are said to be the starter or may be an electrical issue. Sucks
Kmah RC yeah I had a 2016 civic that I drove for about 50k miles last year that had infotainment and ac issues, upgraded to a 2019 civic sport hatch last year and it’s been so much better and refined. I think good amount of the 2016 civics were lemons
Kmah RC We are looking at leasing a 2020 Civic LX and are hesitating over the AC problem. A necessity for us, and the reason we are looking at replacing our old car is to get a new one with reliable AC. You didn’t say which car brand you will be going to next, that is more reliable. Do you mind telling us? Thanks
@@BG-ig6fd Mazda. While dealing with my honda a.c. issue I made a graphic organizer of all comparable cars to the Honda civic citing complaint numbers and problems per each comparable car going back about 15 years and was shocked to find Mazdas were most reliable and significantly lower on complaints, issues and repairs. I expanded and looked at other models for each car manufacturer and found the Mazda was tops all around. I've kind of kept an eye on car manufacturers and what was once a very reliable car maker, Honda has sunk much lower in rankings. It's disappointing. When purchasing a car safety features and reliability are my main concerns. I hope this helps.
Honda has my Vote for the Best cars All there cars are amazing The Accord,Civic,Odyssey,Crv And the pilot there all amazing before it was Hyundai but Now Honda takes the Cake
Any problems with gas getting into the oil? One thing we don't have to warm up a car here in the Tampa area. The Accords and CR-Vs have problems with this 1.5 engine and turbocharging. A stick would be nice instead of the CVT transmission.
Something wrong with your launch gear or you're in eco mode. I stay in drive w eco off and the launch is same as a/t. Love the CVT. Like an electric engine w no tranny.
Good to see reviews of cars people actually buy in large numbers. Well done.

The front by the dog light that you said is a vent to let air in, is not lol. It's a cut out for the horn lol.
The line on the hood is there to deflect flares from cars driving opposite direction at night
Thanks for that info!
Thanks for sharing those great thoughts!
Raiti's Rides thanks for your extensive coverage on the broad civic genX lineup. This car is everywhere now. i think these videos will be important for many years to come for future used market buyers
Can you review the hatch as well?
Let me dig it up!
2 speed? What’s that mean, I know what The continuously variable trans is but what’s 2 speed?
It has two separate belts!
That had to be the shortest exhaust review ever...or did I miss the sound😂 I do like the looks of the Civic except for the "cromagdon man" front grill look. Also the trans, come on Honda, DCT>CVT.
I'm guessing you actually meant "Cro-Magnon Man" from the European Upper Paleolithic Era?
@@JulezWinnfield yes, thank you😉
The sound is no existent.
the best compact car in the world
yay!!! volume know is back!
cosmicboy I like the volume know (knob) too.
Not for me. I'll take an 18 Elantra Sport over the Civic.
Thanks for the input and perspective! I appreciate you watching Peter!
The Civic has a long life span, lasting for up to 20 years before dying out.
What about the CVT transmission? I've heard they suck?
Lucy 05 Honda makes the best cvts so it’s good enough. With the turbo it’s pretty quick too
@@homeofnobles Thank you 🙂
I bought the 2020 civic sport sedan with the manual transmission and 2.0 port injected naturally aspirated engine.
The perfect daily driver, and by far the most reliable way to buy a 10th Gen Civic 👍🏻
What's CVT and why do people not like it?
Something about the injection
Cause they don’t like the way the cvt transmission sounds and they can have some issues especially with longevity. Cvt = continuous variable transmission
Should i buy this car now or wait until the redesign arrives?
I think the car is great now if you are ready.
You might want to read my comments which I just posted, even though my Civic is a 2016. Might save you some grief.
The redesign won’t be for a couple years. Probably 2022.
Love the civic but ultimately got an Impreza hatch sport for the awd and how fun the Impreza is
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective. I really appreciate you watching!
I'm waiting for the next gen as i need a new car soon. I think its coming next year.
Next will be not before 2022
It will be interesting to see how it will turnout!
Very nice review!
Love these cars!
I am glad that I could share it with you Mark!
Btw it actually came out in 1972
Well, at lest they hide the vacuum cleaner exhaust tip on this one 😂 😂. I know the civic has always been a great car, but I miss the older models from my younger days, the SI coupe, the hatchback....seems like it’s getting uglier every year on the outside....with the exception of the Type R. Great video Joe
I’m considering to buy Honda Civic based on your videos. Does this dealership provide discount to your subs :) ?
Give Christian a call!
I would rather see a review of the base civic. This is entertaining but does not help me.
I keep hearing cvt aren’t good but dang near every car has one of those
Just have to change the fluid every 30k miles, treat it gently and you're golden.
Kmah RC Thanks!
This is the salesman you don’t want. Buddy will talk for hours about that car..
Honda has my Vote for the Best cars
All there cars are amazing The Accord,Civic,Odyssey,Crv And the pilot there all amazing before it was Hyundai but Now Honda takes the Cake
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one
Acura ILX or Honda Civic touring for work and daily driving?
Soran Salehi Honda Civic just Cause the Acura will be a lot more expensive when you need to get parts replaced
Jaden Bertrand thank you
Any problems with gas getting into the oil? One thing we don't have to warm up a car here in the Tampa area. The Accords and CR-Vs have problems with this 1.5 engine and turbocharging. A stick would be nice instead of the CVT transmission.
Thanks for sharing you input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
CVT👎🏾,,,manual transmission 👌🏾
AGREED!
@spudnic88 I've thought about buying one of these but SERIOUSLY hesitant because of the CVT. I've heard alot of bad things about them.
Raiti, nothing can Honda do to make me take it and leave Mercedes Benz
Joe, what is your favorite car overall?....mine is the Dodge challenger
Realistic dream car is a Shelby GT350!
Hatchback sport touring or this?
They get the 1.5 fuel oil dilution problem fixed?
From what I understand, yes!
What model is year? Does the 1.0 have that issue?
I'm looking to buy a 2017 1.0 CVT Civic.
Just found this video!! Subbed and looking forward to more videos. I’ve been envisioning having a Honda Civic for my dream car ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for joining the Raiti's Rides Family!
nice video bud. badass car. i hope i can get this one :)
Any news if Toyota/Subaru are making a 2020 BRZ/86?
It looks like it will be for 2021!
Something wrong with your launch gear or you're in eco mode. I stay in drive w eco off and the launch is same as a/t. Love the CVT. Like an electric engine w no tranny.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Great video!!
Thanks for taking the time to say that!
