The CVTs overheat and go into limp mode after 2-3 autocross runs. It's also just not engaging, this thing isn't a rocket that requires extreme attention under acceleration. Having to shift is the only thing that makes straight lines remotely exciting with this car. Also, the 1.5 t is the go to for their entire line now and has much better aftermarket support. The sport sedan is great if you're looking for an econo car that isn't boring AF but the sport hatch with the 1.5t is the better car for modding and competitive driving and the SI is on another level with the extra power and limited slip dif. The one benefit of the sedan vs hatch if you have a manual is that it doesn't have as much rev hang with the 2.0 na. All that said, this is still a great car for the price because it is lightweight and has nice wide tires so it handles great for an econo car.
Ya, I agree 100%. There really is almost nothing negative to say about this car's performance. It makes me cringe when people review these cars under the scope of a 911, et al.
A CVT will ALWAYS be a worse option when you can just get a manual. I have a civic sport with a six speed manual and it’s quite a fun car. Is it as fast as an SI or a Type R? No, but the handling characteristics make up for that.
I’m coming from being a pick up owner/driver for what 15 + years. I was looking for something compact, simple, not too expensive. I was looking at a 2014 ex model, my brother had one and I drove it once and loved it. Figured that’s the car I want. Was having issues with my pick up already on and off... went to the dealer looking for a 14 civic and drove out in a 19 sport. Its not what I wanted because it just didn’t feel like “me” my style... it felt kinda flashy too sporty, I felt like Bruce Wayne pulling out of the lot, but it was more of a my truck is crapping out on me and I need something ASAP....sales rep recommended it and I said sure why not beats getting a used 14 that was in there with bumper damage that was being worked on... plus you already ran my credit lol. I don’t feel like Bruce Wayne anymore but at first yea... heck of an upgrade from an 05 pickup that’s been through a lot. This car works for me. Yes the si’s and type R’s look and possibly sound great, may be even better... but I’ll leave those to the pros. I’m happy with my civic sport.

Its the year 2022 and I own a 2019 Honda Civic Sport Coupe. Big upgrade from my 2017 Chevy Cruze. The car is amazing, didn't think I'd enjoy a CVT transmission but I actually do. Also I hear from a comfort level the Typer R and Si are less comfortable and less safe as it doesn't really prioritize those features, so the Civic Sport is a great choice to balance out comfort, safety, and performance without sacrificing too much.
2:43 The Sport trim is not above the EX package, EX comes stock with a 174HP Turbocharged engine compared to the Sport's 158HP. You also get the premium audio system (10 speakers w/sub) in the EX (compared to 8 speakers with no sub) and a moonroof! Other than that though, good review
Great vid, but the Sport actually loses some "luxury" features over the EX (most notably, the moonroof) It is essentially the base model with mild performance upgrades, but it still uses the 2.0 liter engine. The EX uses the 1.5 turbo. I'm speaking on behalf of the US market though.

I’ve seen some that come with a break light that runs all the way across on the trunk of the car, I like that.... also yea had I not been in need for a new car right away I probably could’ve waited a few more months for the hatchback. Also, Honda put AHA (Agile handling assist) in their 10th gen civic - when taking turns at a slightly higher speed, the vehicle applies small amounts of brake force to the inner wheels to help keep the nose of the vehicle in
You spend so much time crapping all over various aspects of the civic sport, when it nails exactly what Honda was aiming for, and that is offering an elevated driving experience over the base model without asking for a premium price that is anything close to the Si or the type R

Standard transmissions need to be in all cars. at this point they have systems so it won't stall on hills, it's just a better way to drive.
So you're presuming every single driver wants a manual equipped transmission in their car?
the auto comes with remote start
