And now he is my go to car reviewer for way more substantive reasons! He knows what he is talking about for real!! I rarely don’t see eye to eye with him. Plus he is mature and works super hard! I’ve been part of the family for a year or a little more idk time flies.
I have been on YT for +10 years, using it nearly everyday. Not once have I ever commented on a video until now. I have gotta that I really appreciate the amount of research that you do prior to filming each car and having a personality that doesn't get dull, regardless of how long the video is. I'm really impressed how in sync you and the cameraman is in each video too! The amount of effort and time you put into each video is greatly valued.
The whole Raitis rides team is awesome. Small team I think but Joes wife also films the reviews sometimes. Her name is Lori. She is fun too! But they do this in Florida heat & humidity. I hope this is starting to pay off for Joe. He has become one of my favorite auto reviewers. Probably my favorite now. I like Alex, Sofyan and Micah okay too. Just started watching DeMouro a little bit. But Joe hits all the right notes and he twinkies and skittles like me! Ha
I wanted a 6.4l Challenger but the insurance, even at 52 and clean record, was insane! I came across a Touring Civic Coupe and loved it! I added a rear spoiler and body side moldings and I couldn’t be happier! I avg 37mpg and even have a decent back seat....got it all for 26k!!
My wife and I have a 2019 EX hatch (hers) and a 2019 Si coupe (mine). We use her car for hauling things the si can't fit, long trips (that's where the cvt shines over the 6mt) and when we need 4 doors. The back seat in the coupe can be used for adults, but it's just not as convenient as having 4 doors. As a save the manual enthusiasts, I naturally got the Si and love it (my last car was a 2004 Si so I will say that I am a bit biased :P). We use my car more simply because I like driving it over the EX, But in no means is the EX a bad car. The EX ( in all body styles) is a great daily driver/people mover. For the average driver that views a car as an appliance, the EX (and all non Si or Type R trims) are sporty enough, but I wouldn't call them the perfect balance between sport and value. Compared to the other trims, the Si is hands down the best civic that balances sportiness and value. The cvt paired with the turbocharged engine in the EX is pretty quick for a people mover, but I wouldn't say it's sporty compared to the Si. To be fair, though, with modern engines, people movers from all brands are becoming quicker and quicker compared to the people movers of say the 90s or 00s. I think the EX is great value for what it is, but the Si is simply the better balance of sporty and value (remember, the Si is a sport compact, not a true sports). If you look at the entire segment though, there's plenty of competition within the "sporty under $25,000" category. Just look at the veloster turbo, focus/fiesta st, etc. I'm a Honda fan, but I have to admit the segment is looking pretty good in terms of competition
@Kekistani Refugee Yeah I miss the kseries engines. The k20a3 that was in my old si was fun as hell even though it was the weakest k20 in that gen 😂 The reason I say I prefer the Si over the EX is the manual transmission, the increase in hp, lsd and the adaptive suspension (sport mode tightens the suspension). In general though, you can't go wrong buying a Civic, they're good cars for what they are
@@malasoat1 Si is wayyy better car. Transmissions cant even compare in a race. Eats CVTs up! Torque is way underrated at 190ft/lbs bet 2100 - 5000 rpm. That number is the lowest Torque curve is a bell curve above those numbers! I love my white Si coupe 2020! Go 10 gen!
Manuel Lara That's your opinion and I wholeheartedly disagree with such. Any car can be fun whether it's a 2 door, 4 door, convertible or station wagon, it's all just a matter of personal taste and what you do with it.

Just bought a 2020 Civic Coupe EX. I used your vids to make my call between the 3 finalists: Civic Coupe, Toyota Corolla Hatch, and Hyundai GT. Thanks for your reviews that were spot on 🎯. Keep up the good work. Don
Update: 2 months and 6000+ miles later, the Coupe is getting more respect from me every day. Thus far, no problems whatsoever. Power rates at 0-60 in the mid 7s and that's perfect for a daily driver as far as I'm concerned. Gas mileage is stunning at 37.7 MPG (mixed)and still inching up. This one's bound to be a long, long term KEEPER!
Update: 9 month update, 17,000mi. So far I have averaged 38.1mpg mixed driving from day #1. This car has been 100% flawless. No rattles, squeeks, or mechanical or trim issues at all. Living in Nevada, I do a lot of urban (50%) and the same in the mountains between here and Cali & AZ. I do use Top Tier Super from COSTCO. Mechanical services are done exactly on time. Update. Thanks again for your original review. Both my son's 2020 Civic Hatchback Sport (30,000 mi) and my 2020 Civic EX Coupe (25,000) have been PERFECT. My gas mileage out here in mountainous Nevada has averaged 39.0 from day one. My tires are about 50% spent. I might get to 50,000 miles. Maintenance done religiously with ONLY Super Unleaded Top Tier gas. I scoped it with my OBD ll and nothing to report.
Going past the 36,000 mile mark. My 2020 EX 2 door coupe that I bought was inspired by this video. So far🤞, it has been 100% PERFECT. Zero issues. My mpg to date today is exactly 39.1mpg on Super. Maintenance is obsessively regular. No wheelies or other boy racer silliness. Handling is still great. CVT is flawless...and amazingly the AC hasn't failed!🤭
Hey Joe, I have a 2019 sedan with the sport trim and I feel Honda hits it even more on the sweet spot. If you can live without the sunroof, you don't give up as much with the materials. The sport has more leather accenting in the areas you want to see it and a bang for your buck with the 2.0L engine. Maybe do a comparison on both? Good opportunity to review the coupe sport, since there aren't much videos on them around.
Just bought the sedan and Love it! My driver’s side Does have electric seat adjusters. I wish it had lumbar support though. It’s because of Your reviews that I went for this car! Thank you for doing such an Amazing review and demo! I’m so happy and excited so far!

Only if you can (and want to) drive a manual. I’d do the same, of course, but some people who deal with bad traffic in their daily commute won’t want the hassle of a manual. I had an ‘05 Si, the 2-door hatch, and loved it. 2nd favorite car I’ve owned.
waltervila33 Cool, and I’ve done the same, but not everyone wants to deal with it. To me, however, it’s worth the trade-off to enjoy rowing my own gears the rest of the time.
Yes it is on the sweet spot. I like the styling of the cope with the wrap around tail lights, sun roof, nice wheels. Yeah I like it. I have the 2019 Civic Sport Sedan and I love it. The only thing that it doesn't have that I would have wanted is the back seat arm rest. But since nobody hardly ever sits back there it's no problem. Can't wait to see what Honda does with the redesign. Thanks Joe.

Raiti's Rides When you mentioned the EX being planeted to the ground I couldn’t agree more, you can take that sucker around a round about at 40 haha. Civic Si is heavier in the front, I’ll have to test it out again. Cheers 🥂
I really appreciate your videos. Would adding the recommended/required fuel to your reviews be something you can add? With all the turbo engines now days you never know what fuel they need.
Honda is underrating the horsepower figure on this car. Motortrend tested the 4 door version of this car (same engine/transmission) 0-60 in 6.8 seconds and on the dyno it put down 177 horsepower at the wheels in stock form.
@@RaitisRides Honda also worked out the bugs regarding the oil dilution problem about 2 years ago with software upgrades to the transmission control module and fuel injection system, new drain plug washer and upgrades to it's climate control system. I own a 2019 civic coupe touring trim and this engine is as smooth as a rolex watch.
Thanks for another review video while most are shelter-in-place at home. You are the hardest working reviewer on YT and deserve more subs/views. I give you whatever the opposite of 'Zonk' is (Honk?).
This is a great car for the masses, that want the engine power of the turbo, but are not so much enthusiast minded. But, I still think the Sport Sedan/Coupe is a better value, and well equipped with the nicer simulated leather trim, performance wheels, tires, suspension and steering, blackout trim, and I don't care for the sunroof, unless it's part of the package, like on the Si and Sport Touring Hatchback. I would rather have the more reliable and durable non turbo engine with 15 less HP.
This has got to be one of the kinkiest video reviews so far Joe! XXX, wet peanuts and rear seat belt buckle zonking you in the you know where! Very funny and entertaining! 🤣
I've driven this car - fantastic interior build quality and all, but that CVT sent me into a depression. Ran away from that test drive and never looked back.
So jealous when these came out when I was still driving my 2015 lx. But based on how small the engine the si comes with and the oil dilution I'm glad I chose the 2013 si Coupe with the good old k24 naturally aspirated.
Learned to drive on a 2010 civic sedan in white its a great learner car and first car but since its paid off i really want to get this, yknow, to store my m&ms and dr pepper in the rear doors 😂

Raiti's Rides When you mentioned the EX being planeted to the ground I couldn’t agree more, you can take that sucker around a round about at 40 haha. Civic Si is heavier in the front, I’ll have to test it out again. Cheers 🥂
Mr. Pibb? TREMENDOUS!! Great review Mr. Raiti! I may have to add this car to my short list of "next" daily drivers
Thanks for the help because I don’t know anything about cars. 💕
Same girl, Same 🤭 Just want something small, great mpg, safe and stylish😂
I really appreciate your videos. Would adding the recommended/required fuel to your reviews be something you can add? With all the turbo engines now days you never know what fuel they need.
Premium 100%! Thanks for the feedback.
Would love to have a time machine so I could see the reliability of the tiny 1.5 turbo + CVT combo in 10 or 15 years (and for other purposes)
Any turbo & CVT doesn’t sound like good news.
I would want a time machine to find out this weekends winning lotto numbers. ;-)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one John.
I think I just found my new dream car no doubt 🔥🔥🔥💯😍💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥
Honda is underrating the horsepower figure on this car. Motortrend tested the 4 door version of this car (same engine/transmission) 0-60 in 6.8 seconds and on the dyno it put down 177 horsepower at the wheels in stock form.
You are so very right!
Great job Joe. Greetings from Brazil.
Thanks Leandro! I appreciate it!
Great review 👍 It’s funny how a lot of people to this day have no idea what a CVT is lol 😂😂
I totally agree!
Ayyaz Mahmood tons of them: they don’t care to research anything. Blows me away
is it true the Honda Civic Coupe is being discontinued? so sad.. love this car!
You hit the nail on the head!
Any coupe for another make can compare with the Civic Ex for the design and style. I love it. 👍
This is so very true!
This has got to be one of the kinkiest video reviews so far Joe! XXX, wet peanuts and rear seat belt buckle zonking you in the you know where! Very funny and entertaining! 🤣
Thank you for letting me share some laughs with you!
My 2020 Civic Si Sedan is a definite keeper!
AGREED!
I love Honda Civic coupe hi Joe 👋😀
Hey man! I am so glad to hear!
Love them Honda's Joe!
I am so glad that I can bring them to you!
I heard EX is without fog lights, while EX-T has fog lights . I got EX-T 👍 . Honda #1
small, I liked the Accord coupe which was a good size
AGREED!
The last gen accord is similar size to these new civics
@@OrganicWheat The Accord was 190" Length, while the Civic is 177".
Keep up the great car reviews! I would love to see you review a 2005 STI if you ever get the chance
I got an SI coupe 2020 red , just add a little bit money, more power, more aggressive look with spoiler too
If I were to get a Civic it would be this model
My sister has the EX,no thanks no power ,I have the 2020 SI coupe...best ever
Thanks to your 2019 Civic SI review I was able to get one! Another wonderful review! Stay safe guys! Shout out to Big Guns McGee!
That is so awesome! I am glad that I could be part of your car buying decision!
Joe I come for the reviews but I stay to see how many Twinkie’s can fit in the center console man! Appreciate what you do sir! #dontzonkthetwinkies
Thanks for the review :) will be getting this as my first car.
You will love it and you are so very welcome!
DiabloSoul96 same !
Doug’s the type of guy...oops wrong channel
I've driven this car - fantastic interior build quality and all, but that CVT sent me into a depression. Ran away from that test drive and never looked back.
32 Yr Old Casual Food Industry Worker oh damn same here actually. That’s why I like Mazda 3
Whats a CVT?
Marco Torres you are joking right ? Google it. You aren’t a car person I think it’s safe to say.
I ran away too.
So jealous when these came out when I was still driving my 2015 lx. But based on how small the engine the si comes with and the oil dilution I'm glad I chose the 2013 si Coupe with the good old k24 naturally aspirated.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective!
Honda been killing it for so long. To bad America throw in the towel. Maybe one day we will build great small cars again
Tell me about it!
I believe the Civic has class leading horsepower if I'm not mistaken! And that's not including the Type R and SI!!
This is true!
joe i love the comment about the report cards
I'm sold. I cannot wait to test drive here soon!
Very cool!
I love my 2019 black coupe lx.
I am so happy to hear that!
Your reviews are the best. Love the word “ zonk” . Lol
just bought my 2019 a few days ago, in white! how would you say this year's model differs from last years??
“Even if you covered both eyes, you’d be able to tell that there’s a civic in front of you”
Learned to drive on a 2010 civic sedan in white its a great learner car and first car but since its paid off i really want to get this, yknow, to store my m&ms and dr pepper in the rear doors 😂
Always good! Got any plans on the 2021 Honda Insight review? Can't wait to see it!!!
Yes sir! Stay tuned!
Raiti's Rides Thank you very much! Hope you can address how does the new insight’s low speed acceleration ability compare with the Accord hybrid.
Dang good review. I’m about to happily get rid of my 2017 focus se in on one of these puppies.
Could you imagine sitting in the back from L.A. to Vegas, a 4-5 hour drive - Neck Cramp. FORGET IT!
In that case I would go for Suburban
Heck no.
Or a convertible! LOL
“Don’t be watching those” 😂😂😂💯
I'm thinking about getting one in '26, hopefully they'll still make them by then if they don't discontinue the model.
Welp
I have the same car couple years, I still love the shape, fun to drive - for gas like Prius :-))
Thanks for sharing some of you great ownership input!
@@RaitisRides Actually - I wanted to buy a Prius for great milage - and this got the same, with more fun and I like its shape - every time I see it. And that is different from Prius.
Just bought that beautiful girl last week. Just identical to that car. Thanks for the review
Getting one tomorrow!!!!
Awesome review like always :)
Thanks for saying that! Your support really means a lot!
1997 to 2017!!!I drove a 20 year old Honda from Chicago to Texas and back... 1987 to 1977. I'm trying to say they last and Keep running real good .. it's this or the Venue you showed recently?
I personally would go with the Civic.
"the civic" the best sporty street cars
go with coupes
AGREED!
I did and loving it. Chick magnet.
Nice vid tho! Always love Honda! 👌
Thanks for saying that!
Looks nice, but that 1.5T engine is still a major zonk until they fix the oil dilution problems.
I feel your pain!
Honda, regardless, of the model, are great reliable, daily drivers.
(Disclaimer: Biased, retired Honda employee, speaking...)
You are so very right even being biased! LOL
@@RaitisRides I resemble the same remark, with Verizon! 😌
I wish they made a Civic sport wagon.. . Bring back wagons Honda.
Regards from NYC !! I'm trying to stay healthy physically and mentally. Very nice car just not liking the Pinstripe, have a glorious weekend
Id zonk those side markers lol. I have the 2017 touring in black and that was my first mod. Now its tinted
Good idea!
It would be great if Honda release a Type R or much faster than Type R for the coupe. Instead concentrating Type R on hatch back form.
Sup Joe. Sorry I'm late Joe I was out. Honestly I don't like any other trim on the Civic. I only like Sport Manual, SI Manual & Type R (obviously Manual).
U good bud?
It's nice to have options for people who don't want the full out sport. I just can't stand the CVT.
@@RaitisRides I know right
I think the 7.9secs 0-60 is incorrect, I think it’s around 6.9 or 7.1
Honda civics need a revamp on the designs
It should be coming soon!
