Most people have forgotten the sheer joy of driving a small, sporty car with a manual transmission. Almost none of them under about 30 will ever know. I learned to drive on an old Celica with a five speed and while it was bog slow compared to today's cars it was so much fun in the mountains where I lived.
I bought one last month. Love driving it at night, feels like you’re in a spaceship with that dash. It definitely does feel deceiving big lol. It just amazes me how far Honda has come over the years perfecting their cars over time
@@wanderbread4217 Thinking of the wrong engine, bud. The 1.5 turbo was the one with those issues. That was the first guy's point. The NA 2.0 has zero issues and a Honda 6-speed is always bulletproof.
6 speed manuals are so fun to drive, even when your first learning and get that bucking bronco action. But then learn to smoothly change gears. After that it's over your hooked and such a joy to drive.

I bought mine on Memorial Day and it’s literally so fun convenient and gives you plenty of comfort. Lemme tell you tho, when the turbo kicks in you can really feel it😂 my hatchback handles like a dream.
Joe you nailed it in this review! I picked up mine in March. Identical to your test car but in Aegean Blue. Definitely the best car I've ever owned. I had a 98 Civic EX coupe. 2005 Subaru Legacy. 2014 Accord Sport sedan. All with manual transmissions. And this is definitely the most fun. Loves to rev. Has VTEC. No turbo worries. Great ride and handling. And the value for the price is incredible.
Joe we asked for it and you gave it to us again... some really good value for the money. I'll stick with my Fiesta ST over this, but this Honda Civic Sport will be really reliable and run forever. Huge props for finding a Sport with a 6-Speed Manual. Great work as always my friend. Keep it up!
Just got my brand new Honda Civic sedan sport too last 3 days ago and I can’t resist to drive it everyday! All the specs and trims are so good! Really can’t get over it! So far it’s a 10/10 for me!
Great review Joe! If it were my money I'd spring for the Si. 4 grand more you get a turbo charged engine with 50 more hp and torque, an LSD, adaptive suspension, amazing seats, dual zone climate, heated seats, and a sunroof. I have a 2019 Si Coupe so I'm a little biased :)

As an Si coupe owner, get the Si. More power, an lsd, tighter suspension, etc. It's my daily and it's not too crazy compared to something like a Type R. My wife has an auto Civic hatchback and even she says the Si isn't too crazy, lol
I rather to buy this Honda Civic Sport sedan with the 6-speed manual than to buy the SI or the Type R......because it doesn't have turbo, most importantly, it is cheaper than the other two, 4k to 5k less than SI and less than half of the price of Type R, what a deal. Honda is really how to make cars what the consumers want and need.
I own i the 2019 sport sedan CVT. In manual mode it is definitely a fun daily driver. Perhaps next time I’ll go all the way up the chain and get a Type-R?
I'm actually looking to get a 2020 Civic Sport. I've looked at red and grey one, test drove it, got all my personal important info on it, payment plan and financing info on it. The only thing I didn't care for is the Civic's I looked at had the automatic, not a manual. Waiting to see how my tax refund can help. I owe too much on my trade so I have to do the wait and see time now. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at my local Honda dealership

That HDMI exhaust didn’t sound too bad. 😀 Love the exterior colors. The wife couldn’t drive this vehicle because of the stick otherwise it could’ve been on her list of cars to consider. $22k is a very attractive price. Keep’em coming young man 👍

Which do you think is more reliable? 2020 Civic LX, Corolla L, Impreza Convenience, or Elantra Essential? They all have CVT. Should we consider Manual? Is anyone good enough to buy, or should we just lease? We need very reliable AC . We were leaning toward the Civic but they have big AC problems.
Honda still makes the old 2.0L engine? That's a bit of a surprise to be honest. Maybe it's a better engine than the 1.5 Trash found in most of the other trims. Nothing fancy, but the car you could daily drive and feel mostly fine about.
This is the K20C2 engine. Came out with 2016 Civics. Dual overhead cam with VTEC. Same engine used in US Formula 4 race cars. It's solid. And it's in the family with the K20C1 used in the Civic Type R. I bet it will be running long after the turbo motors have expired.
This has way more bottom end torque than my 98 Civic EX. Not as fast as the turbo Civics but once you get past 3k rpm it moves. Sweet spot is about 4500 rpm.
thebigcheese3000 Nothing will sound or make you feel the same way as VTEC kicking in yo. But these cars are faster, more efficient, and it won’t disappoint as long as your expectations aren’t unreasonable.
Correct me if im wrong but i drove the 2020 Toyota Corolla hatch XSE 6speed manual MSRP right around 25k but it felt way better and also the interior materials felt that way and the way it handles is really nice cuz it has independent suspension in the rear...the only think that i really didnnt like was the trunk space and rear seats are small
Lol I just bought a 2017 Acura TLX V6 SH-AWD and I'm watching this lol. The TLX is more like a big cruiser that's very comfortable and fast when you want it to be fast. The TLX is a heavy car and doesn't have a manual option. I think I would probably have more fun with a lighter civic with manual transmission and more feedback. I do appreciate the refinement of the TLX but a slower car can be more fun. I also have a 2012 Mazda 3 2.0L and it's more fun to drive than my TLX

I regret buying the auto, I wish I would of bought the manuel I hate my civic because it's auto. I drove my friends sport 6 speed, it was amazing.
Honda really needs to add USBs as a standard option because it's ridiculous of how cars at this price point don't offer even 1 USB

If you want reliability, than the Corolla is the answer of the vehicles you listed.

Not at all. It’s still pretty light overall and has a lot of horsepower for its class

Joe, after Covid-19, there are no more Manual Civic in DFW area. Honda is not making enough manuals to go around here. Sad!
You can even get a Sport Touring with the 6 speed too. Honda made that available last year.

@@RaitisRides no problem. But I just realized the Sport Touring has the 1.5 liter turbo. It might not be as reliable as this 2.0 naturally aspirated engine.
