I’m currently a 17 year old and looking for a first car, this car has brought my attention especially everything it offers for its price tag. Might be a really good option for me!
I’ve driven a few of this gen Civic and always thought it was a competent compact car of a little basic feeling. One thing I have noticed in every one I’ve been in is that the cloth center console doesn’t hold up well. They have all looked worn. I’ve recently driven a 2020 Corolla SE and IMO it blows the Civic away. The styling is more more interesting, the interior looks and feels better, the audio system is nicer, and the CVT in the Corolla was a better performer as well.
I could imagine that center cloth wearing out. Bummer. The new Corolla isn’t definitely a huge improvement over the last one. The Civic could use a total redesign to keep up that’s for sure
Here in the UK the hybrid corrolla is almost 30% more expensive which is significantly. Also if you plan to keep the cars a long time I think the Honda will last longer as it doesn't have the second hybrid side to possibly fail and need repairs. Also the Honda is about 100kg lighter so tires should in theory last longer. I'd say right now at least in the UK the Honda Civic is the best value daily driver car money can buy
I looked at those too before I bought my Civic. I also liked the way they looked, but what I don't like about them is the door handles on the inside. I don't know why Toyota doesn't fix them. I much prefer the Civics for that reason alone. I also know that if you ever need the valves adjusted, it takes much longer and costs much more than a Civic. But the long-term reliability is about the same.
Where’s the CarPlay/Auto? This should at the very least be an at cost option. $300 option or something like, you could even do dealer installation. No excuse for not having it.
Looking to buy a used civic this year. I am completely inexperienced with buying cars and got my first as a gift that still lasts (2008 Volkswagen Passat). When shopping for a used 2020 Civic, how many miles should my potential car not exceed?
You mentioned the longevity aspect of a naturally aspirated engine. Will this engine last longer than a turbo engine? I want a civic that will go 500,000 miles. Lastly, is this body style the same as the touring model? Thanks
@@BW-kv9wj manual 👍. Yup I've done basic things but nothing huge. Fixed it myself too since I know some basic things. Worst thing I had to change was the axle and exhaust manifold lol. But keep in my I treat it very good over the years, most cars in general will not last this long
@@ryu-ken I just bought a 2020 Civic Sport, 6 speed manual, 2.0L, non turbo. Perfect little car and bulletproof. I didn’t want the CVT transmission and I didn’t want a turbo. Too many things to break down. This is the last year of manual transmissions. No more 6 speeds in Civics. I don’t know why Honda made that dumb decision to only have CVT automatic option. My car will last a million miles.
Excellent car I own a 99 civic ex coupe and I am hoping the newer civics will be something worth upgrading to in the future. My main concern with the newer civics is the longevity of the CVT transmission. Besides the concern with the CVT transmission I think the civic is an excellent car. I know the civics without the CVT can usually last over 250,000 or 300,000 miles with original engine and transmission if taken care of. I wonder how long the CVT will last if the transmission fluid is changed every 25,000 miles or so.
I just got 270,000 out of my '96 Civic EX before I eventually got rid of it and bought one of these. I got the 2019 and so far I like it. I also got one with the CVT since I got tired of driving a stick shift. I'm not sure how often the transmission fluid needs to be changed though. Oil changes are much more important to me.

The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
Verily, the likeness of 'Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was.

2020 and still needs a physical key to start wow.
Problem with that eh especially for long term
Auto starter 300-400$
Those hubcaps didn’t look that bad tbh but I’m expecting for the 2021 LX to come standard with Alloys.
I just bought a brand new one it's nice!
My next and second car I'm so ducking excited 🤪
I’m currently a 17 year old and looking for a first car, this car has brought my attention especially everything it offers for its price tag. Might be a really good option for me!
Pay cash for something cheap
It really is, you cannot go wrong with this car.
I got a 2018 lx and I cannot tell one darn diffrence lol
I got a 2019 and im tryna figure it ooout
Honda cars are one of my best
I have this same car was really hoping there would be a navigation system
Good car to start like for college or cheaper brand new car.
Nice to see you Nolan, next time use shorts, it's summer and is Texas hahaha 👍🏼
hmm so what's supposed to be after this? Lexus/Acura?
I want either the ex Trim level of this,or This version, but this is the base model.
This is literally my first car 😂 my mom had to get it for me cuz ian had no credit but yeah 😂
We all got to start somewhere enjoy it !😁
You could do much worse, trust me. Not a bad choice for a first car.
Very good review.
Thank you!
Question about the tires. Is the lx capable of going to 17” rims. Why is it that this is the only model with 16 and hubcaps?
Yes, absolutely
Nah, the Corolla is ugly, I like Civic design way better.
Interms of interior I feel Mazda 3 feels more upgraded
Where’s the CarPlay/Auto? This should at the very least be an at cost option. $300 option or something like, you could even do dealer installation. No excuse for not having it.
Is the price difference on the lease between civic and accord lx that big of difference ? And which one would you get?
Me 16 looking for cars lol
Is it safe to say that 2021 will be the final year of the Civic coupe?
Not sure. I guess I haven’t heard or seen anything about that
I know this comment was before the news release, but 2020 is actually the final year for the Coupe.
Hondas are a excellent choice for reliability and gas efficiency and fun for the driver if u have a heavy foot lol
Volkswagen has literally become the modern-day Buick
Looks like a Volvo from the back
Looking to buy a used civic this year. I am completely inexperienced with buying cars and got my first as a gift that still lasts (2008 Volkswagen Passat). When shopping for a used 2020 Civic, how many miles should my potential car not exceed?
I’m in the same boat as you!
Good review. 👍🏼
excellent video
Nice and good car ! 👏🙂
The black grill looks cheap which they still had the silver grill
But no hate towards honda I love what they do this is my second honda my first car was a 2009 civic lx
You mentioned the longevity aspect of a naturally aspirated engine. Will this engine last longer than a turbo engine? I want a civic that will go 500,000 miles. Lastly, is this body style the same as the touring model? Thanks
My 1997 civic is approaching 400,000 and i still drive it as my beater 🤣🤣
@@ryu-ken Is it manual transmission or automatic? Any problems or break downs at all?
@@BW-kv9wj hell yeah bro. The 2.0 is a great engine. Should last you forever. Best of luck to you
Excellent car I own a 99 civic ex coupe and I am hoping the newer civics will be something worth upgrading to in the future.
Well I have 75 k on mine 2017 lx I think if you do it every 25 30k cvt fluid change you should be k maybe get to atleast 200k
ughhh no... drive it like its yours! lol I enjoyed this
My 2014 mazda 3 gt even has fold down cup holders in back seat
I found Honda civic way better than Toyota Camry
They'll never bring back the overdrive button will they?
Gave a full view and a like. I'm based in DTX.
Very nice, thank you!
Thank you!
I have this same car. only difference is i have custom rims and tinted windows. makes it look really sharp
Whats is the difference between the 2019 and 2020 LX ?!!
Waiting for them to release the 2021 sedan
I just got this car & how do you turn it off lol I’m so lost please help 😭😭😭
What do you mean? This car is a key ignition turn on and off. You just park and turn the keys and pull it out??
