86, BRZ? The new 2.4L generation should be a hit, at least in countries like the USA where the fuel taxes make it relatively economic to have such a (comparatively) large engine. Not so much in places like France or Italy where 900cc or 1.2L is more the order of the day. :)
36 single professional car enthusiast here, zero interest in any vehicle that comes with 4 doors. hate the look & how large/heavy these vehicles have become. i still drive my scion tc manual that i bought new in 2009 and it's depressing that it's essentially a unicorn now (2dr, hatch, manual). smh.
I've always loved Honda coupes. 10th gen coupes are way better looking than the hatchbacks. They used too much plastic vents on the 4 door models which make them look cheap and over styled. Hopefully Honda will make another coupe someday for us car enthusiasts.
My si coupe is more desirable than any other and the price suggest it! My car is now in a class of its own, I literally can get more for my car than any of the other Honda sports cars other than the type r so there’s that! Sorry four door sports guys! The dealership is calling all the time trying to buy it.
Interesting stuff going on. Its good to hear your opinions (especially as an owner of a newer gen)...im still enjoying my 2001 Gsr with no plans to "upgrade" any time in the near future =p
The fwd 2 door coupe is dead. Not one manufacturer makes one. I also think the Mini is the last 2 door hatch fwd or rwd. Oh and the Hundai Veloster but 2022 may be it's last year.
Just bought the Honda 2019 Civic sport coupe in silver and I love it. I am a person who will only buy coupes .... no 4 door sedans for me! So when I had to replace my Chevy Cobalt coupe I had quite a hunt since so many car makers have discontinued coupes unless you want to go to a 6 cylinder Mustang, Malibu, and so on..... So I found the Honda Civic, but it had to be one without the moon roof, and no leather seats .... I'm in Southern Arizona and we will cook out here parking in a parking lot for a short time. Another must was it had to have fog lights.... so the Honda Civic Sort Coupe has just the right stuff for me.
I worked at Honda for the last 3 years as a tech, for every 1 coupe sold of any trim level at least 10 sedans were sold. It makes sense to kill it off but I find it strange that the fit is being killed to. My theory is Honda will make a 2 door hatch to fill the space of the coupe and fit, probably won't happen but a man can dream.
You know what I want to see? A stripped down sedan with manual windows and locks, no touchscreen bs, no bs lane departure or back up sensors, no cameras, analog gauges, and a manual trans. This is why I still drive a clapped out 97.
The Coupe was the lightest of the bunch. Just too many other options in the lineup to justify buying a 2-door.I am just glad the kept offering alot of them in manual.
You are absolutely correct! Their value is going to jump up nicely lol That’s why i just bought a 2019 civic coupe lol great investment long term when you’re ready to sell it 10 years from now
I’ve been saying since I started at Honda 2 years ago that they need a civic hatch back in SI trim and that they should do a Honda Fit Si or something. I’d totally buy one.
It doesn’t make sense any longer…. Everyone in my market wants one because it is the best entry level car for a guy who wants a car that’s not practical. Also four door sports cars are in most cases ugly! Seriously all 4 door Hondas except for the type r are ugly!
I think they should bring back the crx. i fully restored my 91 and you just cant beat that feeling. better yet a honda fit with that crx rear end fastback look with an L15b7. I also have an ap2 s2000 that is an awesome car but I dont see that coming back anytime soon.
The people making decisions over there at honda are not car guys, I think once Mr. Honda passed away, a few years after that, honda really started not caring as much about their cars..
I just bought a 1999 Stock One Owner EK Hatch. All interior and original parts. Going to restore it and put a B18 and just store it for a few more years before sporting it. Getting more rare by the day. Economy is going to crash, so I would put money into assets and not currency.

do you think someday the 2dr coupe may be a collectors item since not many have been built? My son bought a brand new 2020 coupe ex the dealer had to locate one the y didnt have any on there lot. I had a 2017 ex sedan after my son got his new one i liked all the little changes they have made sine 2017 plus i love the look of the coupe then the local dealer got a ex coupe in so traded my 17 sedan on the coupe and love it. i own classic cars maybe after a few years i may just put this coupe in my collection
It’s an absolute shame that they got rid of all their nice two door cars shame on you Honda I have owned a 2000 Civic Coupe and also 2000 prelude for about 13 years and man both cars were nice they were fun to drive especially my manual prelude. RIP civic coupe (and 2 door hatchbacks of long ago) accord coupe del sol CRX prelude and s2000 .. not everyone wants four doors Honda please understand that! 2 door manual cars are such a rarity these days it saddens me.
I'm not at all happy about them killing off the Coupe. I'd of loved if they at least finished off the Accord Coupe with a Type R treatment. And it's just as painful that the Civic Coupe got scrapped. I own a 2017 Accord EXL Manual Coupe and love it. You can still comfortably fit two 6ft tall people in the back seats. For a single adult male who rarely has passengers it's ideal. Sure it doesn't meet everyone's needs but it more than meets mine. Guess all good things eventually come to a end. It's like the saying goes even the darkest of blacks eventually fade away. And yes I'm sad there going away.
My main point is that the civic didn’t sell that’s why they’re killing it off... so it’s more about why didn’t they make is “desirable”. They could have but didn’t.. it is a shame overall. But the current coupe makes sense to go. They may bring it back they did that with hatchbacks...
Wish we got the options they got in the uk and the rest of the world. We have some of those options now in the 11th gens. Also....what is Americas deal with SUVs anyway? I remember a time when cars were king. If you had a truck back in those days you used it as a truck. I love my 19 coupe btw, it reminds me of the crx in a way. Its odd that its a coupe because it really looks like it should be a hatchback. Also, honda needs to sell some of their small cars over here. Not all of us want crossovers and SUVs. So sick of crossovers and suvs 😒.
Civic type r-civic si-fit si Focus rs-focus st-fiesta st Honda definitely should’ve offered a Si in the hatchback and it’s a good idea to kill the coupe....I love my sedan, and always wanted a Si sedan
I agree on one hand if there was a Type R Fit it would be the best game on the market. But dam it's so ugly now! GD3 was just perfect it was small outside and felt bigger inside. The engine is really under powered, but like the EF9 its simple no frills design makes it desirable. I get all the body lines on the new Fit as without them that thin sheet metal would dent easily. But damitboi it just 🤮. A smaller Fit with FK8 306 hp. Winner winner 🏆. Thank ya Mark, Good points for ol mother honda to hear.
Honestly from a car and business perspective, it doesn't make any sense, I can agree there. However, I upgraded from a 2017 Chevy Cruze to a 2019 Honda Civic Sport Coupe, and yes I wanted the coupe and can't really drive manual let alone driving manual in a very populated area I live in sucks. So a lot of this in the video sounds trivial. There was room for improvement don't get me wrong, but given my situation and getting rid of a really crappy car and upgrading to a far better one, The civic I drive now has been solid. It may not have all the bells and whistles that some people want or people are used to especially if they're big car guys, but honestly, I can't complain. Its a great car. All the civics are.
The SI should have been just a 3dr hatchback. The people who are buying these are people nostalgoia heads in the honda scene. The Type R is the highest end but underthat the marketing is just bad. The hard part is that the majority of casual car buyers are moving into crossovers and suv style. we are holding onto a 20 year old honda business model and performance cars are alot better then when honda was in the 90's so for price its harder to buy honda when you look at a real performance car thats not track day based. Honda used to be more modular in what you can do with them, now i look at the new line up and i just want the Type R or the Sport.
I have a coupe and it’s sad but refreshing to know they killed it off, maybe later down the road they will have some special re sell value but doubt it cuz it’s just a Honda but you never know.
I honestly hate the look of the coupe and sedan now. I would like a Si Hatch as well I think it would fit better. The 9th gen was probably my favorite body style since the 6th gen. I would like to see a new design and make the sedan look like a sedan. The 10th gen Accord Sport is absolutely amazing and I fell in love with it when I worked at the Honda plant. I agree the Honda Fit would be a perfect FIT for a Si or type R package and would make that car great.
I wanna get a sport my wife approved but i dont wanna get one inless i can park it in the garge cause if anyone lived or been fo nv we get windy ass days
For me the 4 door SI was the best. I really love the looks. I own a 2016 civic touring sedan but if I would have had the extra money (I got my touring for a steal (lx pricing, the seller did not know what he had) I would have definitely bought an si sedan if the were not 7k more than my touring!
Before the EM1 ALL Civic Si's were hatches. To this day I still actually hate the EM1 (I know, I'm in the minority here)... But the level of betrayal and disappointment I felt in 99 when they brought the Si back, WITH the B16... and it was a freakin coupe.. crushed me. So as a bitter old gen-x JDM Honda fanboy, I say eff you, Si coupe... You have always been a sham in my book.
I had a 2010 sedan si and it was a ok car it was just a pain in the ass to work on in my opinion.. I sold it and bought 4 older hondas/acura they are a 95 integra, 94 eg coupe, 92 cx hatchback and a 96 ek coupe.. old school is the way to go ! I won't ever own a new honda again I think they are ugly ! The type R is ok but I wouldnt own one. Honda had it going on in the early and late 90s. I dunno what happened to them but they need to get back to their roots.
Honda overall has just been doing terrible IMO. New Type R is just a 2.0 with a turbo...nothing says Type R about tht. TypeR used to mean comes with an engine you cant just build in your garage, or you could try and it wont be same.lol i.e the poormans b18 TypeR or K20typeR
I don't really care about new Hondas. They lost the line. I stay on the 90's civic coupes. I own a Honda EJ8 coupe that I beefed up. Also I own a sedan car and is a late 90's Oldsmobile Cutlass... If I want a sport sedan I'll get a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP
For me i wish they just keep the coupe SÍ and make a hatchback version of the Sí and get rid of the sedan i dont really like it looks like a downgrade of the accord but that's my opinion 🤷♂️
Honda! Bring back the 2 door hatch! Its looks SO much better! Also they should make their hatchbacks, look more like hatchbacks. The new hatch's just look like sedans, and if you ask me they dont look that good, like at all. Its funny because ford kind of stole the hatch look from the 90s honda hatchs. Honda should steal it back. While I dont like ford at all, one bit.. They do make a good looking hatchback. Can you imagine if honda made a hatchback the was like an in-between of the EG or EK hatch mixed with the new hatch style, but in 2 door, it would look do damn good. I think the last decent looking hatchback that honda made was the EP3.
Golf-style hatchbacks with a square rear end have bad aerodynamics, that's why the Civic (and first-gen and second-gen Insight, all CR-Xs, CR-Z etc) have the Kammback rear end treatment. It would have been a retrograde step for Honda to have dropped the Kammback aerodynamics of the 8th-gen and 9th-gen Civic hatches for the 10th-gen. :)
@@TassieLorenzo Yeah but im not worried about the aerodynamics, im worried more about how they look lol. And that doesnt really matter too much in something like autocross
Mark: Have a h22 swap in an EG; p28 chipped but tuned for F20 B; car starts and idles but it will hesitate but if i let it warm up till it “higher” idles car will run mint. Thoughts?

Idk man. I just struggle to like any Honda's after 2000. With the exception of the DC5. Big, heavy, and complicated.
Bring back the 3 door hatchback!!
HRV has good power..........................
To be honest with you B Type R is a waste of money and it's super slow
Hondas have been getting uglier with every generation since about 08, especially the coupe.
Yeah the mew one are to long for me
Damn it boyyyyy
First
Mark: Have a h22 swap in an EG; p28 chipped but tuned for F20 B; car starts and idles but it will hesitate but if i let it warm up till it “higher” idles car will run mint. Thoughts?
Fuel maybe?
13 HSG 13 i thought the same, i have a pressure gauge on the filter and its constant before and after the idle change. So im not really sure, and im lost other than going to get a retune?
Glad the coupe is gone they sucked sedans are so much better
