    I heard the word “regret” a lot in this video. I don’t like that word. I try not to use it in my own life. I don’t regret learning lessons, the hard way or the easy way. I don’t regret things that I’ve done. Rather, if I regret anything, it’s things that I haven’t done. Good or bad.

    I’ve also heard about the oil dilution before buying and it scared me a bit. But to avoid it, I always change my oil around 50% to 30% oil life rather than 0%. I believe that as long as you do proper maintenance, the L15B7 is a very good engine

      Its a good engine but dont expect to make much power on it reliably.. Its a very small motor.. Its pretty much a boosted version of the Honda fit motor with slightly stronger internals. I mean 250whp is terrible for a boosted car these days.. I almost make that on an NA K24 with bolt ons..

    I love this because I’ve been there! I have a focus ST and have spent countless hours and dollars doing a number of things to it which I ended up undoing a month later!
    For me it was a giant Ford performance wind shield banner. $100 for the banner. I spent at least 8 hours doing it because it never looked right. I finally brought it to a pro and spent another $100 to have them install it. It still looked off and ended up taking it off all together! Addition by subtraction as it looks better without it even if it was done correctly.
    Your car looks better like this though. It just took a grand and a long work week to realize it!

    What you guys feel about the 10th Gen CVT 1.5 turbo 4 door hatch? I zip car rented it and omfg that car is insanely fast and responsive for its drive train and size...maybe it was me driving a 1996 Camry for 12 years that made that car seem like a rocket but I absolutely had a blast in that car.

    • @Toymonkeyjr
      @Toymonkeyjr 2 года назад +2

      sounds like it was because of your car, also modern induction noises and turbo lag give the impression that you're going faster then you are. Coming from an old econobox a stock brz feels fast. I think the benefit these cars have is the low inertia turbo and cvt which makes accelerating at low speeds super smooth and torquey. Also the lightweight chassis is something that isn't common anymore in modern vehicles, so seeing as how the sedans/hatches are 3000+ and the coupes are 2800+, the power is a lot more useable.

      @@100geese My GF has an ex-L coupe which weighed in a little over 2900lbs with a mostly full tank so most likely a bit above 2800 dry weight. I'm talking about actual weight versus dry weight. I've seen multiple 4dr civics come into the same shop with over 3klb weights but yeah trim and transmission do play a factor. But the heaviest coupe still weighs 50-80lbs less then the sedan. I would assume a sport sedan MT and civic coupe that's not a touring trim would weigh pretty similar amounts.
      Also take into account that the coupes ride on stiffer springs then the sedan/hatch for the FC gen. SO that coupled with the fact the heaviest coupe is under 2900lbs makes the ride a lot more sporty.

What I can tell you is if that is all you paid to try and wrap a entire car then be glad you purchased the wrong type of product because it would have been closer too or over $1,000 but even so if you had spent that much on the correct stuff you most likely would have had the same outcome installing it. If you were patient and took your time you could remove the glue use W40 sprayed on there and take a clean paper towel wipe it and keep wiping with the cleaning part of the paper towel take Takes another clean towel with mineral spirit and that would kind of help it go faster Then afterwards wash your car to get the mineral spirit off So it don't eat through your paint in your clear code

    Hey brother, I recently purchased that exact SI, same color but the 2019 model. I was also hesitant on its reliability but I’ve always been a Honda guy, a good friend of mine sent me a link to the vehicle 3 days before I purchased it. I felt robbed as in I could’ve got a better price lower than 30k for it but all in all, you reassured my decision and I actually feel proud of buying it. THANK you so much for the info and honesty. I was thinking of wrapping my car this weekend but I’d rather use that money for an inter cooler instead

After watching a few of your videos, I decided to go with a new 2020 10th gen Civic Si. I just bought the car last night and I'm so excited to make this car my own! If you're stock with exhaust, you're fine when it comes to driving it hard. You do not need an intercooler + DP unless you're already tuned, they won't work regardless without an aftermarket tuner. You'll throw a code, but bone stock-ski you'll be fine until you upgrade gradually.

    With the si being $5k more and the questionable 1.5 turbo, I bought a new 2.0L n/a coupe manual in Modern Steel Metallic. I have owned it six years and put over 90k trouble free miles on it. I haven’t even had to change the brake pads. With the coupes gone and the manuals getting scarce I think I’ll keep it. 34-38mpg and still fun to drive. I took the extra $5k and bought a used R1 which meets my need for speed.

      You'll be fine, I've been running PRL intake (Race MAF), and a prl downpipe and TSP STAGE 2 for almost 40K miles (bought new with 11 miles, and currently have 54K miles on it), stock clutch and exhaust, no issues. I Do a lot of racing and heavy driving. The issue with reliability comes with people not taking care of their cars, as with ANY CAR, If you dont take proper precautions and keep up with maintenance, and especially dont drive your car correctly. It will fail. Turbo motors need more maintenance then N/A motors, especially when tuned. What you're going to need is a catch can after an intake, tune, and E85. Really just in general. t'll fix all the issues with blow by and stuff people complain about that's common on boosted applications, and all cars with a turbo motor needs one. Do oil changes every 5K miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Check spark plugs for normal wear every other oil change. (Do NOT REPLACE SPARK PLUGS WITH ANYTHING ELSE, except HONDA OEM as they use a NGK plug currently sold only at the dealer) these motors are built to last and handle power, the only reason they dont is because of neglect, I have a buddy who's running FBO and 27Won turbo, running E30 and hes been going fine for 20K miles, stage 2 clutch.

    I recommend listening to him for sure on buying a intercooler before tune lol,
    But dude you're are so lucky
    Mine was a 2017 redline red Si sedan so here is the story i have,
    one night omw home cruising down the highway roughly 70-80mph my 10th gen dropped a plug and destroyed my engine literally outta nowhere limped her home and drove her to a dealer
    imo i don't think it's that reliable lol
    not to mention the dealership throwing my warranty around like a football
    after it was fixed i bought mods got it tuned
    Raced alota cars was impressed but i got scarred it was gonna blow up again and traded it for a 86.

    • @midwestmischief3393
      @midwestmischief3393 4 года назад

      I bought the car new as well and drove her daily to work and such
      I did drive a litte rough but nothing to extreme on the everyday basis,
      I did in the end win against the dealership so the engine was fully replaced under warranty but after they fixed it they claimed that the warranty was now void so i pretty much tossed reason out the door and modded it.

      Interesting story! I think Honda MUST have made some small tweaks here snd there to improve the reliability after the first couple years of the 10th gen si. They must have, because no one has blown up a 2020 yet as far as ive seen, and plenty of people have beat the crap out of them, like me
