Scotty, greetings from Houston. We miss you. What do you think about the NEW HONDA PASSPORT??
Scotty I have a question...I have a 2008 Lincoln MKX...my Ac is blowing hot...in past year I've added freon twice at a shop...I recently changed my fan blower motor..just flushed my ac drain tube yesterday as it was clogged...I checked the 2 temperature motors behind dash seem to be functional fine. Stopped blowing cold about maybe 2 weeks ago. The clutch on compressor is turning on and off when turning ac on and off and the 2 fans behind radiator are working ....any idea what you think it may be?
I'm not sure if it's a leak which I need checked or if maybe condenser or something else...
I told you the other day to buy a Honda Civic, I bought a 94’ new and drove it 20 years, other than regular maintenance I replaced the front axles and fuel pump until steam came out the exhaust and I gave it away. I bought a used 12’ and it’s a great car also. Hope they stay that way.
Only Reason it takes a driver longer to travel was bc the driver has to stop n take 10 hr break bc of federal dot laws If the driver didn’t have to stop he’d either get there the same time as the self driving truck or he’d beat it there

21 here, driving an 08 CRV. Yeah I'm a college student, and yeah some people my age are driving their Mercedes that mommy and daddy bought. But mine is at 105k miles and has had minimal issues (A/C compressor died once and a power steering fluid leak). Let's see how their cars hold up by this point

Most lane departure systems kick in above 50 mph. Honda actually has one of the most responsive systems in my experience
I think it is much less than that, I have a 2019 Toyota Camry and it warns you lane departure is not available at speeds under 32 mph. It would be interesting to know what the other manufacturers cutoff is for speed is
He didn't have the lkas engaged there's another button for that on the wheel

Plus the lines on the road have to be very visible, it won't pick up faded lines on back roads but my experience on highways and city roads it works pretty good

Was away from your channel for 2+ years Scotty, but I've started to look at another vehicle and it's good to see you're still making great and helpful vids, keep up the great work and love the comedy thrown in as always, love you brother!
On the steering wheel, there is a symbol of parallel lanes, you have to activate it for the lane departures to work correctly. The symbol didn't poped on the top right of your dashboard, so did not have it on.
Works pretty good, but it will work only if you are at medium to high speed.

It works like u said, he didnt turn it on though. You dont need that at lower speeds
It also doesn't work if you're actively steering the vehicle.
I bought Honda Civic 2024 sport sedan 4 days ago: squeaky sound right front side suspension, low tire pressure front left. After snow last night cruise control doesn't work until snow melted.

You just can’t go wrong with Honda or Toyota. Even though the quality isn’t like it used too be it’s 100x better then other brands

Out of all the different cars I've owned, Honda has been the most reliable well equipped cars, that are fun and very easy to drive. Today, they are even more fuel efficient.
I'm on my third Honda. Civic, accord and civic again. I have absolutely loved and still do each one i had, do have nest cars ever. I only strayed once for a 2007 Mazda 6 and that was an absolute fantastic car. I'm so glad to be back in a Honda though. Honda for life!

I bought a 2021 Civic Hatchback Sport in white! I’ve followed you for years and I’m so happy to see your review, thank you 🙏
I had a 2000 Acura EL. The engine, a 1.6 SOHC engine, was bullet proof and easy to work on because of it's simple design. Changing out the timing belt was fairly easy. These EL's were manufactured in Canada for the Canadian market only. They had some of the best shifting manuals. As Scotty pointed out, about their only weakness back then was in the body. Back then Honda was ahead of their time based on motorcycle technology transferred to the car manufacturing.
Had a 2002 type s. BULLETPROOF!!! no issues at all!
Still driving a 99 Accord with 280 k. Body is not perfect but I would take it cross country!

2018 civic si owner here, it's an AMAZING car, needs more power for its price and heritage but overall I love it, it has a HUGE aftermarket aswell so you will never have to pay hundreds of dollars for broken parts
The hatchback is great! With the seats down, I can fit my 67-inch long (169 cm) road bike in the back WITHOUT taking any wheels off. I purchased a 2021 EX and love the heated seats. What I don't like are all the nooks and crannies for debris to get stuck. I'm already planning on taking parts off to clean those areas out.
Are you trying to suggest that the 1978 Civic I drove in the mid 80s wasn’t the pinnacle of performance and style? ;)

Honda's and Toyota's are superior to other brands, but I still like the 90's Honda's better. Those cars in that era were built like tanks.
37 mpg- my 98 integra gets 33MPg on highway - none of the nanny features still runs like a top!

96 accord with 200,000 miles is still a decent daily.
01 Accord with 300,000+ miles and still going strong.
The 4th Generation Honda Prelude was the most under-rated
I got my Civic Sport hatch 5 days ago tooo. Love it. Definitely a huge upgrade from my 2010 civic. Both with a manual and man are they fun to drive
I bought this exact model, down to the color, 7 days ago. It had 22 miles off the lot and 2600 now. I got it to go from VA to OK and back safely (my old car was a 98 civic LX, wasn't going to make the trip.) and it did really well. Very cool features with the lane keep and adaptive cruise made the trip much better. But I gotta say, the seats are not friendly for very very long trips. For maybe 4 hour round trips they'd be fine, but 9 hours a day was difficult and I can still feel it. But all in all I'd buy another one if I needed to, very nice car, and I haven't even tried the sport mode... :3
Yeah the seats and the road noise are why I passed on buying this.
Use something for lumbar support and the seat gets 100x more comfortable
Toyotas have comfortable seats for longer journeys.

@@babagandu to figure out where a lot of cars, not all cars are made, all you have to do is look at the VIN number. 1,4,5,7 is the United States 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico, S is England, J is Japan, V is France, etc. W is Germany but a lot of Benzes will have the W although they may be assembled in Hungary or South Africa. Had to edit. It is the first letter or number on the VIN that tells where it is most likely assembled

Have a 2008 Civic that I drive 500 miles a week commuting. Now with 325,000 miles, still running great. Oil and filter changes, replaced a starter, struts, engine mounts, tires and brakes. Returns 32-34 miles a gallon, uses no oil. Few lights on the dash no longer work. A/C nice and cold. Hoping it will last the next four years when I will be retiring. Only vehicles we buy are Hondas and Toyotas.. Own five, all trouble free. I shake my head when I see someone buying a new Nissan, Fiat Chrysler, GM, Jeep. All junk.
I drive 32 miles a week.
My 2007 made it to 337,000 but is now rusting out after not having a garage in the north east for 3 years. Its struggling to pass inspection and everythings on its way out so looking to replace soon

@@jacobverdesi6593 Wow, that impressive! I had an 07’ but just sold it to Carmax for 3k. Had 104k miles in it. Only major repair was the starter at 10 years. I had to trade it bc it started up loud and I had to keep replacing the engine mounts. Did you notice an issue with your mounts?
Just picked up a 2018 Accord and I love this thing. Looks great, drives great, seriously good warranty (7yr/150k miles w/56k @ purchase). Big fan of Honda now.
It’s just powertrain, no accessories and electronic components. Just keep that in mind

I like that you mentioned the body gaps. That's one of details Honda has always been good at. Doesn't matter if it's a new Acura or a 10 y/o Fit; the body gaps are consistent (and if they aren't, you can pretty safely assume it's been wrecked).
My turbocharged RDX still runs like new at 205k miles.
I'd gladly take a CTR on a roadtrip, but I am about to drive my s2000 5 hours tomorrow, so I'm a glutton for a fun driving car.

280,000 + miles on my 10th gen 2016 civic,maintained myself per maintenance minder and still rides like new. I used to put 7k a month driving Houston to Austin round trip, this is a solid car indeed!

I was skeptical about these newer 10th gen Civics at first. But after owning a 18 Si for a year and a half I gotta say these are great cars.
running with a '19 sport hatch and cant argue for the longevity because its only been like 2 and a half years of ownership, but they are clean looking cars and satisfying to daily and I agree, seem to be well built. Loving the 10th gen

The CVT isn’t terrible, TBH. It’s night and day compared to the CVTs on Hondas from the early 2010s, for example. I’ve owned both.
Honda fan girl here! I LOVE my 2021 Civic. My lane departure deal works well depending on quality of road striping, but I do use my optical devices 😀
I was worried about the oil dilution problem in the current Honda Civics and CR-V's with the turbo. I bought the 2.0-liter Civic Sport version instead because I wanted to play it safe.
I love my 2020 Si Coupe. Thing is solid. Even on stock internals the engine can handle a lot more power. Also love that the Si comes with a helical limited slip diff up front, it really makes a difference, you can feel it pulling you into turns.

The model Scotty has: Honda Civic Sport, 1.5 VTEC TURBO 7-Speed Automatic Transmission (CVT), Hatchback. These are most commonly sold in the European markets.
I got a 2019 civic with 6 speed manual. It's been a great car so far
I love my 2020 civic si 1.5l turbo. It is a rough ride if you don't put it in sport mode on the highway. But once you turn that on its amazing. I love the 6 speed manual it has too.

I own the same car in manual, and it's a great daily driver. Oil dilution problem is fixed by the update,no issues at all in more than 3 years. I love my Civic hatchback.

On the Lane Departure Warning, I think ya need to drive above a certain speed for it to function properly. But you're right you need to be aware while driving and not rely on the system 100%.

had a 2018 hatch back with 6 speed manual. I liked it. 1.5 turbo had enough power for the car and it got great fuel mileage. Honestly the only reason I got rid of it was I wanted a truck and the ridgeline was not what I wanted.

Had a hard time finding a civic sport.. ended up with an EX in the same color. Love it so far!

3:26 Just want to mention if you have a 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback and your AC isn’t working right, there is a recall and you can get a brand new one for free! Highly recommend!
Back in 2017 I bout this car in a base model with Sport package 6 Speed Manual for $21,300. I currently have 93k miles on it and it drives like it did when I bought it back in 2017. Changed all fluids and not a single drop anywhere to be found. I got it in the Aegian Blue also and still get compliments on it to this day. Never experienced any Oil Dilution problems. The manual transmission in this car is absolutely amazing. Should try it. The fun level goes up. ;) Currently 29 to 33 MPG with ECO mode OFF.
I have a 2020 Civic Sport also. I have been very happy with its driving performance.
Just purchased my 2nd hand, 20K mile, automatic diesel, I love it, one of the best cars I've owned. Very happy.
i just got a new 21 Civic Sport. Love the driving and handling. So far 35 mpg overall. No complaints so far.

My wife and I love our Civic Sport hatchback. With a 6 speed manual it’s a bunch of fun to drive and easy on the budget.

@@Ghost-jy9hk never buy the first year of a redesign. They tend to have the most problems. Although it’s a Honda so the problems should be minimal but that’s still a risk you run.
Have had 85 and 91 Si Civics in the past, and currently have a 01 and 04 Civics. The 91 and 04 were and are great cars. The 85 could have been great if I had known more about it before blundered repairs. Opinion pending on the 01, brake issues being sorted.
I personally love the way the old civics look and for their age they drive damn well.
New one is better that’s why you see more new ones

I agree. 2005 civic was the last civic I enjoyed aesthetics wise. All the ones after have been ugly. The 2022 one looks fantastic though.
I remember what James May said about the Civic. He said the newer Honda Fit/Jazz is what the older Civic was. Applies rather well to the Accord and Civic as well I think. I have a Civic sport with a manual transmission, and it's so similar to my sister-in-law's old Accord.
scotty, lane departure warning is mainly designed for cruise control. My 2020 Corolla also has the same feature and I thought it doesnt work well until I was on the freeway and had cruise control, it works pretty damn well!!
I'm a Honda/Acura fan for life. I have owned 19 cars in my lifetime. One car was a Ford, ten were Hondas and the other eight were Acuras. Currently have a '20 Accord Touring 2.0T which I love! It's a fantastic car. My next car will likely be either a new Acura TLX or the new Acura Integra Type S coming out next spring.
My 8th gen civic LX that I bought at a donation dealer for 3k with 198k miles is still running strong. I took this car on long trips from north east to south east to mid east all within a week with no problems. Only issue was it overheated due to a blown fuse for the radiator fan, a simple quick fix. Car has now 228k miles and still running strong, just need to change the suspensions and replace the AC. Simple maintenance. I love these cars, I even owned an 8th gen si that I modified, I will always be a Honda/Acura guy.
Still loving my 2013 honda civic EX -L, 127,000 miles now, drives like new still. Bought it brand new in 13

I love Honda. My mom got a 2020 Civic Sport with the 2.0 non turbo and the manual and I swear that thing will outlive her. Looking for a civic for myself next.

@@ethanp189 Yup. They have variable cam timing (VCT) but no variable valve lift that everyone knows and loves from Honda, and gives them that distinctive noise. Honda stopped using true 3 lobe vtec in the 9th gen Si, so the 8th gen was the last of the real Honda motors

I agree with Scotty that we have become too reliant on technology in vehicles. I moved my wirefree backup camera to the front while working on installing a tailgate backup camera. The work wasn’t done before I had to use the truck. Oh boy, I couldn’t back up properly without the camera. It took me a good amount of time to re-learn how to back up the old fashion way.
I’ve been driving a 2013 limited hybrid. I’m at 196k with zero issues.
Gonna go look at one this week. Our family car got T-boned. I’m excited.

Buy a suv or a truck. More safer than the smaller cars.
@@jordanjason794 Not everyone can afford a truck or SUV. The civic is a small relatively cheap and safe car.
The reason that the lane departure didn't alert when you went over the lines quickly is actually built in so that I wouldn't alert when you are making a quick change such as when you are changing lanes or turning. It is meant to alert the way that it did when you drift slowly over the road markings since that's what happens when the driver is not paying attention and drifts.
I bought a 2000 Honda Accord ex new in 2000 and finally got a new 2020 Honda Civic Si sedan. Glad I was still able to find a manual transmission! I love it and hope to keep it for 20 years too!
You can't go wrong with a Civic. Might as well look forward to driving it for 20 years :)

At least in my car, the lane keeping assist does not engage until you are going at least 40 MPH.

Even Honda’s RUclips video states it doesn’t activate until the proper speed it reached (supposedly actually 45mph).

my 2001 honda accord ex coupe isn’t the fastest but it still drives so nicely around the corners and is plenty fast enough to feel fun, and the manual transmission still feels like new.

I had a 2017 gray metallic Honda Civic Hatch SEL package. Ran good, never an issue. But, after I retired I wanted a road vehicle for comfort and more luxury. I also found the space lacking over time. Good city commuter car, but not comfortable on longer trips. I almost got a Honda CRV but found the power lacking. I went with a 2020 Ford Escape big engine, no crummy CVT. The civic I had was loud, I need a quiet vehicle, my escape is all that.
I’ve owned my 2020 civic sedan EX for a little over a year now and I don’t have many complaints, overall a fantastic car with great fuel economy and the Honda sensing system has definitely saved me from rear ending other cars a few times on those sleepy drives. Would definitely recommend.
I test drove a 2021 LX the other day i loved it! It was fun and sporty to drive. I have a 2019 Corrola its slower compared to my corrola. I loved how fun it is to drive and how sporty and aggressive it looks. My corrola is a nice car but the drive is boring where as the Civic is fun to drive. What do you think is it worth upgrading? I want and accord but i dont have kids yet and im not married yet. So im thinking of getting one.
I love my 2013 Honda Covic! Got me from Pennsylvania, to California, and back to Pennsylvania without any issues. I only have ONE dislike so far and that's the damn wires coated in soy or whatever. We had rodents chew right through them, and as a result I broke down on the highway and had to be towed. But other than that, it's a great car!

@@jamesgizasson Yeah, I had a Dodge that got chewed on by rodents. My girl didn't want me to set traps so she found Wolf Urine online. Every couple weeks I'd put some on the ground where I parked my car. No more rodents.

@@deepneasy I’m going to guess he also works on most non-Tesla EVs too. After all, Tesla only has a few certified shops and they prefer people to go to their service centers instead (which is too bad because I hear their service quality is terrible for the most part).

In the FB Civic groups, there's people with 10th gen civics with 400k+ no issues. I bought a brand new 2020 SI. No regrets.
